The Magical Creature Sanctuary is an outdoor enclosure that looks like a park, full of green grass, rolling hills, interspersed trees, random benches and rocky outcroppings perfect for a bird or amphibian or person to sit and catch some sun. The sanctuary also contains a variety of creatures scattered about, ones that don't mind being outdoors during the Scottish fall and spring, and some of which also enjoy the winter. In the winter, many of these creatures will be brought into the barn, where students can continue looking after them, but some will be just fine still roaming around in the Sanctuary. Unlike the larger creatures in the pastures, these creatures can be generally trusted to mix with each other.
If you're feeling useful, pick up a shovel from the small shed at the back and scoop up some poo to add to the manure pile. If you're feeling lonely, go visit with a puffskein or a kneazle or an abraxan, aethonan, or granian. If you're feeling sad, go sit by the brambles and whine to the augurey. Nearly all animals within this enclosure are rated X, XX, or XXX. Please remember your skill level, year, and familiarity around animals when visiting the Sanctuary.

It was a cold day, but that didn't bother Louise too much. The young Gryffindor just bundled up with an extra sweater under her coat and thick socks. Visiting the creatures on the grounds had been a common occurrence for her. WWW's class was certainly her favorite, and by far the class with the best grades. But she also just found comfort in visiting the creatures. They weren't as loud as the people inside the castle. They were typically much more friendly, too.
As she arrived at the sanctuary, Louise reached into her pocket for the snacks she had packed for the creatures. She let herself into the enclosed sanctuary and wandered around, clicking her tongue in her normal rhythm to invite her creature friends to come see her. A few jarveys came scampering along, familiar with her call, and sniffed around for the treats.
"Hi pretzel," Louise said with a laugh as her favorite jarvey climbed up her side and perched on her shoulder. She gave him a treat first before handing a treat to the others. "How is everyone today? Enjoying the snow?"

You know who was not enjoying the snow? William Walter Williamson, who was freezing, because he'd been out here all morning feeding this animal and that animal, and felt like he needed to just go inside and put his feet up by the fire already.
"Lil Louise," he stomped around, scattering birdseed on the ground for the stupid ones that refused to roost in the barn, "Pretzel." Greeted her too, because why not.

Kizzy had originally come outside to get some practice in, but ultimately she wasn't really feeling up to it anymore. So instead she found herself making way to the creature sanctuary. On her way inside the enclosure, she grabbed one of the nearest kneazles before going to sit by the brambles.
Kinsay huffed, sitting the kneazle on her knees and fixing it with a look. Kneazles had life made. "I wish I were a kneazle." Bet they never get sad or feel left out. And though little guy didn't know what the first year was on about, it did look like it was asking for cuddles. So the first year obliged by petting it real nice (and not at all gently). It's not fair.
