Default Fifth-Floor Corridor

To some the fifth-floor corridor is arguably home to the more interesting corridors at Hogwarts. While it too is decorated with long carpets and various portraits, the statues are just as memorable as the unique nooks and crannies that can be found here. Each of the doors look identical and are evenly spaced out, which can make finding certain rooms difficult. Hopefully that doesn't make you late to Ancient Runes. You know that won't go over well.

In the event that you have some spare time on your hands, do allow yourself to freely wander about -- just don't get lost like Boris the Bewildered. Roaming around, you will see that this particular corridor goes around The Quad and that there is a balcony overlooking the inside of the Clock Tower. Deeper into the fifth floor a casual reading lounge, a storeroom, and an upper hall can be found in addition to Classroom 5B, fondly known for being the headquarters for the Wizard Card Collectors' Club. With a keen eye, who knows what you will find on this floor of the castle!

follow me; everything is all right.

Late in the night while all the students are fast a sleep something is stirring in the corridor. The golems that once were not in the corridor move about searching. Starting at a broom closet golem opens it and looks around and tosses items from it in its search before moving towards a row of portraits in the corridor. One by one it tosses it off the wall to look behind it, when unsuccessful it moves to the next. This isn't seeming to go the way the it was hoping because it starts searching around the statues that are sitting in different areas of the corridor, knocking them over and breaking a few. It even bends down and pulls up the carpet to search underneath. Unsuccessful in finding what it wants the golem moves on to the next area.

Yeah I broke that mirror, so what? ll NOT backward ll Official Gryfferin ll Lemon's favourite

So, she KNEW it was after curfew. Of course she did. There were lots of clocks in the castle and even without a clock, the first year knew when it was late. Most of the castle was quiet, that meant most people were back in their common rooms. It was the perfect time to practice.

While everyone else still moved about, it was too hard to concentrate. Too many distractions. Too many other things she'd rather do.

Once most people began moving on, Emm liked to go to the music room to practice her dance routines. Baylen was gonna be S U P E R impressed when he saw her progress, she just knew it. Tonight, she spent nearly 3 hours working on it. The spin was the hard part because of the piece that came right after. While it wasn't bad, the little girl was used to her strict instructor so she KNEW it could be tightened further.

Still clad in her sparkling pink, bedazzled leotard, Emmerson moved through the corridor with bare feet chilled against the stone floor and dance shoes in hand. Her toes were sore from practice and begged some freedom. Everything ached really. All she wanted now was to slip back into the common room and sleep.

Except....what was that noise?

Emmerson rounded the corner and saw a large, stone golem as it began tossing portraits off the walls.

"AAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!"

The only react that would do.

curly haired prefect - "sometimes I get angry!" - 30/90 - *chicken emoji* - probably @ Disney - I speak dog

Gabi wasn't a huge fan of these whole night patrol things they had to do on occasion - wasn't that why they gave prefects the duty? So the PROFESSORS wouldn't have to do it? - but it was her turn tonight to just do a few quick sweeps of the castle, making sure nothing was amiss before she turned in to bed.

Completely oblivious to the loud racket the golem was making, the only thing that caught Gabi's eyes at first was the horrendously sparkly outfit Emmerson Cambridge was currently wearing. These GRYFFINDORS. Did they have nothing better to do than test her patience?? "Miss Cambridge! What on Earth are you..." her voice was cut off as Emmerson let out a loud SHRIEK, and suddenly, Gabi's annoyance turned to alarm as she hurried up to the girl.

"Miss Cambridge, what is...." she stopped, spotting the golem, and immediately took the young girl and positioned herself in front of her. "Stay back!" she snapped at her, just in case her little Gryffindor brain got any rash ideas. Gabi's background in history of magic helped her identify the golem right away for what it was, but what it was DOING here...that was a mystery, and she quite frankly didn't want to stick around to find out what it was.
