Battlements https://s26.postimg.cc/5kiauiemx/bat...ts-banner2.jpg High above overlooking the lake and a section of the grounds are the castle battlements. During the Battle of Hogwarts, the battlements where used to defend the school from Lord Voldemort and his allies. This is also where Sirius Black rode away on Buckbeak the hippogriff, but keep that hush hush. Though some damage remains, the battlements remain fairly intact and provide an opportune place to be when an enemy is approaching. |
For Ariana! Serena, huffed and puffed, but she really did not feel like she could blow a house down. Especially when she felt that she was about to fall down at any minute now. Why she thought it would be a good idea to hike - yes, it was basically a hike - from the dungeons, the lowest part of the castle, all the way to the freaking Hogwarts battlements?! She braced against her knees and took a deep breath of the cool Scotland air. Looking around for the first time since reaching the top, the blonde couldn't help but smile. The view was amazing though, there was no denying that. Leaning on the crenellation, she sighed, half tiredly and half in appreciation. Yes, the view was amazing, and totally worth the climb. |

At the mention of giants, Serena looked back over the crenellation and peered closely at the direction of the Forbidden Forest. "Not yet." She began; but as she did so, she notice that tops of several pine trees were bending away from one another in peculiar pattern, as if a large hand was bending them out of the way "Oh, but there appears to be one over there!" She exclaimed, pointing at the area "Its not a very big one I think, since you can't see it over the trees. But not a lot of creatures can bend trees out of the way like that." Not even those dreadful Acromantulas that Professor Trent left them alone to deal with. |

Kiz leaned over and let her eyes frantically search the area. LOOK! LOOK! IT WAS A GIANT!!! .... Maybe? "Awwww, maybe it's a baby!" This was the MOST delightful news! "Do you think it'll hear us if we try to talk to it?" Did they have good hearing? Maybe the older girl could shout to get its attention. |

Serena's arch brow did very little to deter Kizzy. She was very well practiced in cute looks. Unbending. But. Doing it together didn't sound..... that bad. It was a compromise Kiz could get behind. She grinned at the younger girl excitedly before she looked around the empty battlements - her eyes lingering to the door way a little, as if expecting a professor to suddenly emerge from the closed door. Then, shaking herself off from the reverie, Serena shook her head once more to clear her thoughts, pointed her wand at her own neck and whispered "Sonorous" As the spell was cast, she felt a slight itch from inside her neck - similar to the feeling one would get prior to a bad cough. Then, she opened her mouth to ask "Do you think it worked?" OOOOF. Oh yeah, that definitely worked! She turned to Kinsay starting next to her, then wordlessly gestured towards the forest - hoping that she'd get the hint how they can now talk to the baby giant. |
Kinsay James hardly ever worried about getting into trouble for rule-breaking. But to be fair, she didn't break rules very often. Not unless they were silly ones that didn't make any proper sense. Otherwise, her only rule-breaking ever occured with the best friend by her side and in those moments, Kizzy felt invincible. The only reason why she was even somewhat worried now was because Serena kept looking this way and that, as if expecting to be caught for doing something bad. They weren't doing anything awful though. Just trying to meet baby giants, and really there wasn't anything wrong with that! Kiz nodded, wincing slightly at the sound of Serena's booming voice. Again, attempting he best WHISPER (under the current circumstances), she spoke once more, "Can you go first?" |

Probably not her smartest question. But, it wasn't as if she knew how to actually speak to giants. |
