The room was dark as Cassie made her way in. She looked around closely as she tried with all her might to listen to any voices or anything that could be going on in the room. With everyone being transparent she had to look hard to even see movements anymore.

Once she had no feelings of any spirits or living in the room she got to work. Lighting the candles and dragging the stands where she needed them and then pulled the long table to the center like she had during her first class. Setting out some warm freshly made bread in the center of the table hoping the warmth would help get them what they needed.

Once the room was set up she took a seat at the table and took a deep breath. She felt the presence of so many around the castle and she hoped this would be the answer they were looking for.

K had seen the notice requesting urgent prescense in the spirit room, and while she wasn't sure how much HELP she could be, she WAS hoping to get some answers. So she was going, and she'd do her best to remain open so spirits or whatever these voices were would be open as well to imparting wisdom. She missed home and at this point was desperate for answers on how to get back there.

Also, the heightened translucency was starting to scare her. Not that she would ever admit that out loud to anyone, not even Noah. He didn't need any additional things to worry about. Slipping into the spirit room, she found herself a spot, not even bothering to whisper a hello to the Professor. Didn't want to disrupt anything that might already be drawn to the room.

How could he not turn up to get answers about the voice! The urgent message on the notice board had made it very clear that everyone should attend but he really wouldn’t have blamed those who didn’t up for not doing so. It was kind of scary honestly but being a prefect and of age, he somehow felt compelled even despite his obvious distaste for the room. Would he really be any help? No but another able mind in the room must count for something surely?

Stepping in, he couldn’t help but squint around the room in search of someone else but at first glance, he seemed alone. It wasn’t until he took a further step in that he actually noticed the presence of Professor Kitridge and another student (Kimberly). “Is everything okay Professor? Is there anything I can do to help?” his voice only just off its usual warm tone as he headed into the room towards the table.

Ignoring the bread, he gave a small nod to the other student, he hovered awkwardly by one of the chairs, not really wanting to sit. He felt alert and antsy and sitting just…it simply wasn’t an option. Sitting was for those who weren’t ready to act in a situation like this and he was not one of those people. He was ready for whatever was about to happen.

Having absolutely nothing to do anyway, Minjae had noticed the urgent message written on the hufflepuff common room noticeboard and he decided to help out. He made his way over to the spirit room, only getting lost four times because he had never been in here before before he finally found it.

Opening the door, he first thought he had the wrong room because it was dark inside. He was about to turn and try the room next to it when he heard Ewan's voice. So someone was inside? He stepped closer and he finally noticed that there were more people including the professor. He wasn't surprised at all that Kimmie and Ewan were present. Kimmie definitely would have helped out no matter what, it just seemed her type but he wasn't sure if Ewan had come out on his own or if that Prefect badge he was wearing made him responsible to participate.

"Hey all, i saw the notice" obviously, why else would he be in here? Wasn't it funny though, before he had come to hogwarts he had been a firm skeptic about anything mystical. Now he was going to help out with a seance. What a twist of life event. "oooh bread! Can i have one?" he asked not sure if it was for them to eat or if it was part of the ritual.

Naya had seen the urgent message in the Common Room. They were going to try to determine the source of “the voices”. The Gryffindor found the whole thing to be super creepy, but if they would get answers, she was all in. Entering the Spirit Room, Naya saw that a few of her classmates were already there. ”Professor”, she said quietly.

Taking a seat, Naya tried to get her mind in seance mode. That last time they had tried contacting spirits, things had gotten a little crazy. No telling what they were in for today. She just hoped that they could get to the bottom of things. She wanted her memory back, not to mention her opaqueness.

The voice. Yes, Claudine knew all about it, having been one of the students who had heard it calling for someone to find it… or rather, the person whom it belonged to. For this reason, when she had seen the notice posted, she didn’t hesitate to bring her translucent self to the spirit room. It took some time but she finally made it, what with the despicable memory lapse on the direction to get there.

It was dark when she made her way into the room but this came as no surprise. Claudine squinted, trying to decipher who the forms belonged to. She decided they belonged to no one of importance to her so she simply stood there in silence. The setting reminded her of an earlier Divination lesson. What was it they had done during that one again?

Nina hadn't actually planned to attend this little event. It was actually quite the opposite of that. When she saw the notice she purposefully did not note it down in her diary. There was no reason why she wanted to actively seek out ghosts or whatever it was they were pretending to call upon during a "seance". Nor did she want to agitate the mystery voice. And she most certainly did not trust Professor Kitridge with any of this whatsoever.

Unfortunately, she had left her bag somewhere earlier today and could not remember which classroom she had left it in. And so the only reason why she even stepped inside of this room was to find her bag. With that in mind she didn't even bother saying hello to anyone, save a polite smile at their divinations professor.

She didn't move to sit at the table and instead began checking corners of the room. Why was everyone gathering here anyway? Was there a project she had forgotten about?

He couldn't wait for this to be over and done with--not the way things were going now with them all disappearing kinda done...more.....going back to normal done. The Headmaster wanted his magic back. He wanted to be able to see himself without squinting hard and he wanted to be able to remember more than the last three seconds of any moment.

Malachi entered the room, ready for them to find this voice and get the answers that would hopefully get them out of here.

It wasn't until he'd physically bumped into someone that he realized...er....who....Castillo? Castillo was standing there. "Have a seat, Castillo, I'm sure we'll be starting in a minute." Didn't occur to him she'd found this place by accident. Anyone here must have been ready to work.

Trent drifted further into the room, toward who he assumed to be Cassie. Ah, yes, she was here. Malachi settled next to her, half squinting at the other figures. More students. Um. Yes. Definitely students.

"Students." He greeted, deciding against making any guesses at the who when he could scarcely see them.

When did they start?

Fiona had been looking for a book (or maybe it was a magazine?) when she entered the spirit room. As she looked around and felt a strange sense of familiarity as she sat down. Her gaze fell upon a girl that looked the same age as her (Claudine). Why was that person so familiar?

It took Heath forever to get here! He left as soon as he saw the notice to help Professor… Krennic? Was that her name? It was something with K… Somewhere along the way, he forgot which floor the spirit room was on and wound up wandering aimlessly through the castle until he happened upon the right room.

All the unexpected detours had distracted Heath so much that by the time he finally stepped inside the room, he completely forgot why he was here in the first place. Was this a lesson? He assumed so. There were too many other students in attendance for it to be anything else, but if this was a lesson, why was the Headmaster here too? Was somebody in trouble?

Feeling even more confused than ever, Heath took a seat at the long table. His eyes darted from the candles to the bread to the professor, and a few fragmented memories came back to him. A table like this one... holding someone's hand... candles going out... a chill in the air… He couldn't recall when, but he was almost positive they'd done something like this before!

Nettie was a skeptic when it came to Divination - it was why she had dropped it after her OWL year - but she was merely attending out of desperation. She was never going to get used to looking down at her arm and finding it nearly see through, and she knew it was only a matter of time until they all just vanished into thin air completely. She still didn't understand what was going on - her bad memory coupled with the fact that she only heard rumors of what was happening down in the depth of the castle made it so hard to keep everything straight. This felt like a last ditch effort - why not lend a hand to see if she could do anything to stop this?

Tucking a piece of blonde hair behind her ear, she moved around the room and went to sit next to...oh my gosh, what was her name?? (Nina). She was certain she knew it, and as per usual, it was escaping her at the moment. She flashed her a small smile before sitting down. (why was she just standing there?) anxiously waiting for this to get started.

Avalon had headed straight for the Spirit Room when she saw the notice on her common room's bulletin board. Normally, she wouldn't take part in any Divination-related extracurriculars, but she was getting more and more concerned about the strange things happening at Hogwarts. And she wanted to be involved in the investigation as much as possible. Although, she was doubtful of her abilities to speak to weird voices and dead people. The last Divination spirit board lesson had been a bit of a disaster.

As soon as the fourth-year stepped into the room, she completely forgot what she was doing there. Was Divination class supposed to be so late tonight? And why in Merlin was Headmaster Trent there? Avalon stopped in the doorway, surveying the room and scratching her head in confusion with a fairly translucent hand. It seemed like everyone was preparing for a lesson. So she made her way to an empty seat and plopped down. The only thing was that she forgot all of her materials for class. Hopefully she wouldn't get in trouble.

It wasn't long before Cassie could feel that she wasn't alone in the room. It was an odd feeling sensing something and not knowing if it was living or dead. She was thankful most days that her sixth sense was with animals more than people, but that wasn't helping lately either. So many animals from both worlds. Her eyes landed on a little paper she could just make out from the candle light. She had taken notes, she couldn't waste time forgetting what she was doing.

When she heard some voices her eyes went to the middle of the table hoping she was looking at the correct people. "I'm fine, just trying to figure some things out that have been popping up in my head." She was distracted for sure, so much that she hadn't even snapped. Though since it was becoming harder to snap in the form she was it she had been doing it less and less. Hearing the headmaster she knew it was time to get started but not before she corrected.. umm... she wasn't even sure who she was correcting, "No, we won't be eating any of the bread this evening."


"Welcome everyone, thank you for joining me. I was hoping everyone would see the notice. The more we have here the better chances we will have. As you have heard there has been someone trying to speak with us. Who that person is no one seems to know. When I first heard it I thought it to be one of our younger students just lost, but more and more others have been hearing it and..." She trailed off not sure what her own thoughts were at this point. Her eyes went to her paper and she started again. 'I'd like to try to do a seance like our class back in November. I'm hoping that maybe we could find a spirit that can give us some answers." She needed them to work together and really try hard though.


"Could you all please take hands and remember you are to say three times Spirit come talk with us, spirit come visit us." She lifted her hands for those near her to take them. She would wait until the others joined hands and then she started saying the words.

Coming to the conclusion that her bag must not be here, she turned to leave the room. It was actually just as she turned that Headmaster Trent bumped into her. Um. It took her by complete surprise and she stepped back slightly startled. ”Of course, Headmaster.” She nodded and immediately walked towards a seat.

What?

She wasn’t going to tell Headmaster Trent that she didn’t want to be here! Risk disappointing him? As if! Besides, if anything, at least she would be able to steal glances at his pretty face during this… whatever this was.

She smiled back at… the ravenclaw (Trinetta) who had smiled in her direction. Um. It was scary, you know? Not being able to remember simple details like names. Terrifying, actually. How was she meant to pass her exams in this sort of state? Thankfully she didn’t have a chance to fall down that spiral at the moment because Professor Kitridge had something to say. The notice? Oh wait. She did remember… that.

She looked over at Headmaster Trent, skeptically, just to see if HE was buying this. Um, then she reached for the hands’ of the person next to her (Trinetta) and held her other hand out for the person on her otherwise.

With utmost hesitance, and only after others had already begun saying the words, Nina mumbled. ”Spirit come talk with us, spirit come visit us…” She said this three times, as instructed. More like two and a half times, but she the fact that she was doing it at all should count for something.

K smiled at all of the people as they entered the classroom, not quite connecting the fact that was probably pointless considering the room was rather dark and they probably couldn't actually SEE her face. Not to mention she didn't really KNOW anyone coming in, or if she did she couldn't remember that she knew them. She recognized the Ravenclaw Prefect because of his badge, although she did not know his name. And she also felt some of the current unease and tension she was feeling lighten a little when she heard Minjae's familiar voice. She didn't notice Avalon enter either, or she would have felt even a little more relaxed with another person she knew.

Either way, it sounded like Headmaster was here as well and Professor K was ready to get started on the seance, like they had done earlier in the year. Kimmie took a couple of calming breaths, trying to steady the sudden nerves she was feeling at what they could find out, and held out her hands to the people on either side of her, not quite sure who they were. Once they had all joined hands, she began to chant along as instructed, " Spirit come talk with us, spirit come visit us, Spirit come talk with us, spirit come visit us, Spirit come talk with us, spirit come visit us."

She just hoped if there was any hand trembles, the people beside her couldn't feel it.

Ugh, he couldn’t believe he had been reduced to this. Calling on “spirits”, trying to communicate with the dead. Don’t get him wrong, he understood divination was an art and one truly needed to unlock their inner eye to get results. The man wasn’t a skeptic so to speak but.....he wasn’t exactly its biggest supporter. Too much room for interpretation. Nothing you could 100% prove.

But they were getting paler. The storm wasn’t going anywhere. By this point, the Headmaster was desperate and willing to try anything.

Trent placed the book he’d gotten from the weatherman by his feet before reaching over to take Cassie’s hand and oh so very reluctantly offering the other hand to whoever happened to be on the other side of him. It was for a good cause. He’d have to keep reminding himself.

Much like Castillo...he was...also kinda mumbling.

” Spirit come talk with us, spirit come visit us.” How soon would they know if this was working? He wasn’t sure how long he could keep this up.

When Fiona heard the mention of a seance that occurred in November, a quick flicker of memory sparked inside her mind much to her confusion. As she held hands with whoever was on either side of her, Fiona chanted the words, "Spirit come talk with us, spirit come visit us," three times.

Would this be effective in any way? She sure hoped so.

Cole had slipped in sometime before Professor Kitridge started talking about calling on the spirits and creating a seance to get answers on who the voices belonged too. He sat not too far from Naya and Claudine. He understood the choice of location but it gave him chills. This spirit room was scary with its cobwebs and dark crannies. A perfect place to call on spirits of the dead. His auntie loved these type off stuff. He'd have to write and tell her about being a part of a seance.

As ordered Cole joined in the chanting with the others. "Spirit come talk with us. Spirit come visit us." He repeated three times wondering what good it would do. Maybe the spirits from the other side didn't want to listen to their prayers and chants, what then?

Naya was trying to ignore the very unsettling vibe that she was getting in the Spirit Room. She was equal parts curious and wary. She wanted to know who the mysterious voice belonged to and then again, she kind of didn’t. It was all so confusing. When Cole joined the class, Naya felt a little bit better. She gave him a tentative smile and then turned to listen to Professor Kitridge.

It was time to get this seance going and Naya took the hand of those students nearest her. She began to chant. “Spirit come talk with us, spirit come visit us.” She repeated verse two more times and closed her eyes, the better to get her focus. Now what?

Claudine had been squinting earlier and continued to do even more of that as she heard voices. It was obvious that more and more persons were arriving. That included the Head of Hogwarts. Or at least she thought that was him. It was a bit difficult to be sure because of how translucent they were. Given that she was seated in close proximity of a fellow Slytherin {Fiona}, Claudine could see the other girl looking intently at her but couldn’t figure out why. She looked to her left and saw Star Wars guy sitting beside her. Yes, his name still failed her.

Anyway.

Professor… whoever she was was getting things started. Was a spirit really going to give them answers to the mysterious voice though? Was the voice itself belonging to a spirit? It was all a mystery and well… maybe some of that would be cleared up today. She took the person's hand on her right and Star Wars guy’s {Heath} hand. The key to this was concentration, yeah? “Spirit, come talk with us, Spirit, come visit us." Twice she repeated this {because she had already said the statement once before}.

Would anything happen?

Morgan hadn't read the notice board, but even if he had, he'd likely forget nearly immediately about the request with the terrible memory issues he was having these days. But he found himself in the spirit room anyway, following the group of fellow students. It had been his standard method of making sure he was in class when he was forgetting where he was supposed to be, following groups of students, and that's what he figured they were there for today.

But which class was this? Divination or DADA? He'd greeted both professors just to be safe, but he'd figure it out soon enough because his attention was already diverted. Morgan was about to help himself to the snacks in the center table when Professor Kitridge informed them that they wouldn't be eating any bread today. Well... what was it doing there then?

Ah, so this was Divination class. Morgan grabbed the hands of the people on either side of him and began chanting along with the rest of them, very enthusiastically. "Spirit come talk with us, spirit come visit us! Spirit come talk with us, spirit come visit us! Spirit come talk with us, spirit come visit us!"

Over all the chanting, a familiar voice could be heard, very soft at first. "Hello?! I can hear you!" a woman was calling out to them, her calls getting louder and louder as the chanting continued. Whatever the students and professors were doing, it seemed to be working! The connection was growing, eventually making it sound like the voice was right there in the room with them, yet no body or physical being appeared.

"It's working!" the voice encouraged the group. "Keep going!" she yelled out. Just a bit longer now, and her connection to this time and place would be complete and she would finally be able to communicate with the spirits she had been sensing all these weeks.

Bernie was here, how, she didn't know, and why? She also wasn't sure about that; she had a feeling she'd read a notice that told her to come here but couldn't remember all the details. So here she was, holding the Headmaster's hand on one side and someone else's on the other, softly chanting, ”Spirit come talk with us, spirit come visit us…”

For the record, she WAS thinking of summoning Lord Voldemort every time she said spirit. This was why the third year squeezed the Headmaster's hand with all her might when AN ACTUAL SPIRIT SPOKE BACK TO THEM!!!!!!!!!! She didn't yell out, though, because she vaguely remembered being reprimanded for that the LAST time she'd tried to contact Voldie, and also, because the Headmaster himself was here, which meant she actually had to be good and stuff.

So she just squeezed his hand AGAIN and looked around the room with big eyes. Was the snappy Divination professor being possessed again? Where was Flora, was she seeing this?!

Aboli could not miss this. A. Professor K was in charge. B. IT SAID URGENT AND URGENT THINGS WERE EXCITING. C. SPIRITS WERE INVOLVED.

So of COURSE the Slytherin was here, holding hands with people, cringing, but also focusing on the task at hand. "Spirit come talk with us; spirit come visit us! Spirit come talk to us - COME VISIT US!" Aboli chanted with the rest of them, amused at the fact that Headmaster Trent was here and participating like a well-behaved professor. No sass, no grumbles...it had her in a good mood.

She nearly SHRIEKED when the voice cut through them, but at the woman's urging, Aboli did NOT stop! "SPIRIT COME TALK WITH, SPIRIT COME VISIT WITH US!"
