| | |  Prefects' Compartment
 At the very front of the first passenger car, the prefects have their own compartment. It looks a little different in comparison to the others, allowing for a more open layout. The walls that separate the corridor from the compartments like the rest of the train do not apply here so anyone can walk about and talk to anyone freely. A wall with a door distinguishes this large open compartment from the rest of the normal compartments on the train.
If you are a prefect, this is the place for you to have your start-of-term student leader meeting, led by the Head Boy and Head Girl, and travel in in style. Don't get too comfortable though; remember that you still need to patrol the other cars on occasion, checking in on both your friends and new faces and making sure your peers in the back of the train haven't destroyed the place. If you are not a prefect, it is advised that you do not disturb those within this particular compartment unless you were personally invited or need immediate assistance.
OOC: For a visual example of the layout of this compartment, think something along the lines of what was shown in the film versions of HBP and DH: Part 1.

Well, he was back for his seventh year and it felt good if he was being honest with himself. With his trunk safely away, the seventh-year prefect headed straight to the front of the train, away from the hustle and bustle of the rest of the train and slid into the prefect’s compartment, smile on his lips now. Last time he had stepped foot in this compartment, he had been such an emotional mess but now, after spending a few months away from the school with his family, he was refreshed and ready to ace his NEWTs.
Taking a seat by the window, he looked out at his fellow students as they boarded the train, some of them for their first time and grinned, genuinely happy to be heading back to school. Yes, this surprised him too!

Oh yikes.
As much as she wanted to catch up with the prefects as soon as possible, she REALLY didn’t want to go in there when Ewan was hanging in the compartment alone. She still remembered his ‘train derailing’ mood of his from the last train ride they had had together.
What if he was still being emo over his break up? Missa did not need that kind of gloomy behaviour right at the start of term. Her LAST term. So, deciding to hang outside the compartment - saying her hellos here and there, the seventeen year old waited for the other prefects to arrive.

Why was it that summer always went soooo quickly?? It seemed like yesterday they were riding this train back to Kings Cross where she didn't yet know of her OWL scores. And now after a summer of quidditch and sunshine, they were back to Hogwarts. When did her mentoring of Bernedette begin exactly? Carsyn wasn't sure if she was meant to go find her on the train or wait until feast or even the next day. Other thoughts on the sixteen year olds mind included who would be taking Sandhu's place in leading the lions.
But those thoughts were all interrupted by the fact that Missa was standing outside the prefect's compartment??? HUH??
"Hey Miss, what's going ---" her thoughts trailed off when she peered into the compartment to see Ewan alone. Wait, was she worried it would be a repeat of the train home with all his emo glory? Surely not! He had a whole summer to recoup and Carsyn doubted he was still emo over the end of last year. Right??

Some time away from the school had done the sixth year some good. No OWLs, no staying up late, no unnecessary feelings of nerves and feeling like he was constantly going to throw up just by walking into a DADA practical exam. He also had plenty of time to relax and fix his hair over the summer and go on that trip to Canada to visit his grandfather.
But then. Then. He remembered one very important fact about the year: there was going to be no Sandhu and no Nostredame, either.
Siiiiiiiiigh.
With his mind filled with questions, Lucas made his way towards the very front of the train where the Prefect's compartment was located. If it was up to him, he wouldn't choose to come here at all, but it wasn't as simple as that. Besides, maybe he would still be able to find an empty compartment for him and his thoughts, if this meeting finished quickly enou-

The Gryffindor came to an immediate stop at the sight of Missa and Carsyn? Standing? Outside the compartment????? Confused, Lucas peered into the compartment, hoping to get an answer - did someone create a mess? was there a fire? - but instead, he was left feeling even more confused at the sight of Ewan sitting inside. By himself. In a compartment that wasn't on fire. Uh????
Right. Okay. Fine.
This was not awkward.
Before he knew it, Lucas was already opening the door - and leaving it open, too - and making his way into the compartment. "Hey, Ewan. You okay?" he asked, taking off his backpack and taking a seat opposite the seventh year.
Oh, and the girls? "Uh, are you two okay there?"

Fifth year, why couldn't he just skip this year? Curtis thought of this when he boarded the train. He didn't look forward to O.W.L's or seeing Professors. But it was inevitable. You know what else was inevitable? Curtis approaching the Prefect's Compartment. Nope, he didn't get the badge, so he wasn't there for the type of Prefect reasons you were thinking of.
He was cloaked, for reasons. He checked everywhere to make sure he had no witnesses. No witnesses whatsoever. Within a pouch, he had a nice surprise for the Prefects. Now he just had to make sure the door was aha, there it was. He ducked low, checking behind him in between each step to make sure no one noticed him. If they did somehow, he would know and could pass it off as he lost a contact lens or something with how his cloak's hood was covering his hair and face from the angle.
After seeing no one else around, his view not visible through the door. He opened it ajar slightly and quietly before rolling out a dungbomb into the compartment. He turned away and crouched-walked out as quickly as possible. No witnesses, he was the solid kind of snake as no one else was in the hall before he disappeared into a compartment in the distance.

Yes, Missa was definitely worried it’d be a repeat of their last train home - which is why she was very glad to see Carsyn come around, “Heyyyy”
And then there was Lucas too.
Although she felt a tiny bit guilty for assuming the worst of Ewan, she didn’t entirely regret it as she shook her head and lied to the Gryffindor, “oh yes, how have you guys been?” she asked, before tugging Carsyn along with her into the compartment. Clearly she had never been more glad to have Carsyn around.
“Good summer?”

Well, the prefects cart sure filled up quickly didn’t it? Flashing Lucas a grin, his head turned into the direction of his fellow prefects (Missa and Carsyn), before looking back at Lucas “Hey man! I’m good! Really good actually. Excited to get back and get my NEWTs done” and then maybe he’d finally know what he wanted to do once he left because right now, he still had no idea. “How are you? Do anything interesting in the summer?” His summer had been pretty fun, what with him hanging out with some friends and the farm and his niece, he had been way too busy to sit around a mope, something he was eternally grateful for now.
Turning to Missa and Carsyn now, he gave them both a wide smile, letting them both know he was 100% better than the last time they’d sat on the train together. “And how are you two? Excited to go back?” . He really wanted to make the most out of his last year and just enjoy it as much as possible rather than focus on all of the bad like he maybe would have in the past.

Goodbyes were exchanged right before Jillian boarded the train. Her father wanted to see her off today and it was making her a bit shy. It was her seventh year- her last year at Hogwarts and perhaps her father was feeling a bit sentimental with all of this. He was once a student here so she understand that. He gave her a warm embrace and a small smile formed on her lips. His hug was always comforting, she liked that part but being the teenager that she is she quickly pulled away and waved goodbye. She quickly got herself inside the train and dashed her way into the prefect's compartment.
She took a deep breath as her hands clutched tightly onto the sling of her bag. Phew. This was it. This year will be different, she will want to spend it with more fun rather than stress caused by NEWTs. As she approached the compartment nearer she sees Missa and Carsyn outside.... uhmm, why? Did something happen? Was the compartment lock or something?
"Hey, Missa and Carsyn." she greeted with a smile and her eyes glancing over to the compartment. Oh. Was it Ewan? Was it because he was gloomy the last time they were on the train? She walked right inside the compartment. She gave the 2 other prefects a big smile.
"Hey there Ewan and Lucas" she spoke up, obviously Ewan was looking much better than the last time they were here. So that's a good sign. It was their last year, no time for moping. Save it for graduation day-- or not.
Jillian took a seat right beside Lucas, placing her bag on her lap "How was everyone's summer?" she asked. Hopefully not like her summer. Hers was a tad bit boring. She did go out to hangout with Eloise and went to Canada for a week to visit Jina. Also not to mention random lunch dates with Harley but other than that she was pretty much at home, doing nothing.

Honestly, nothing could really break the sixth year's spirits and she would have gone into the compartment but Missa being out here confused her. Fortunately they weren't alone for long before Lucas came along and was it her, or had he seemed more confident than before? The badge was doing good things for him in terms of confidence ... She nodded when he looked back out there at her and Missa. She was fine, but she wasn't sure about her Ravenclaw counterpart.
That was until the older girl tugged at her to follow, to which she obliged. Who'd have thought prefecting would have brought them together? "Great summer, yes. Always a day too short though!" She sighed, reflecting on it. Would this be the year she'd be able to seek for Gryffindor? Who knew, but she only had two more years...
Also, Ewan didn't seem as emo this train ride, to which Carsyn was grateful. Summer had done him good and he was off to a good start for the beginning of the year. "Quidditch and sunshine." She wasn't going to talk about other ... adventures she got up to because they weren't really important, but they did definitely tie into both things mentioned, so it was really just a lie of omission.
"But I suppose the regimen of academics will be good." Kept her grounded, which was definitely a good thing. Oh, Jillian! She squinted over at her badge, noticing immediately the slight difference. "Oooh, you're head girl! Exciting! Congrats Jillian!!"
