The owlery had definitely been on K's top list of places to visit in Hogwarts. Outside of the fact that it was just a ton of owls -- which she absolutely loved -- she also knew she would eventually need to send a letter home to her parents and let them know about her house and how it was going so far. Her mom would be upset if she didn't check in at least every once in awhile and let her know how she was liking the school.

And after finally taking the time to jot down a couple of letters for her parents at home and Lucy at Ilvermony, Kimberly made her way to the towards the owlery to send them off. She'd brought on old pair of rainboots along with her as she had every intention of spending extra time in the owlery spoiling whatever owls would allow her to.

Opening the door, she pulled her sweater closer to her shoulders as she pushed into the room. She immediately made her way to the old desk in the middle, looking for some treats to be able to hand out to the birds around her. It didn't take long for one of the schools tawny owls to approach, nipping at her sweater sleeve in an attempt to get the treats already nestled there. She giggled, giving him one treat and setting her letters aside for a moment.

She had time before she had to actually send them off.

Letters in hand, Noah bounded up the stairs. He was glad that he didn't have too far to go to get to the Owlery so he took advantage of the stairs to stretch his legs and just reflect over the course of the past days and the events associated with them. A lot had happened. And he had already broken the promise that he had to Lisa which was to write her a letter about his new school.

He'd meant to send a letter to the youngest, Lisa, sooner but things at Hogwarts had been so busy. There had been classes, some drama, new friends, new... we'll call it... beginnings, and plenty of homework to do. Surely Lisa would understand, yes? Maybe the seven year old would get it? If not, then he'd just have to find a way to call her. He left the drama part out and the magic part too, focusing on all the new friends he had met and whatnot. He even slipped in a lollipop for good measure. He was certain that this letter would do its job.

He stopped at the entrance of the Owlery when he saw what was waiting for him inside or who was. With a mischievous smirk, he whispered, "silencio." and pointed his wand towards his shoes. Heh. That should help with avoiding making a LOUD noise when he walked across the floor. He then tip toed, slipping the letters into his jacket's pocket, before covering Kimmie's eyes with his hands. "Guess who?" he smirked, trying to mask his American accent with a British one. Did it work? Who knew!

The tawny owl was getting awfully close for comfort with his beak to her bare skin, but K didn't really mind if she left the owlery with a couple of battle scars. Throwing a treat slightly up in the air for the owl to grab she took his distraction to move a little away and shove a handful of additional treats into her pocket. Out of site, out of mind. Hopefully. She eyed the other equipment sitting on the desk. She briefly contemplated if while she was up here she should go ahead and jot down a quick note to send off to Naia and Regina but...

Well, she didn't actually have time to consider that thought any longer because there were HANDS over her EYES. K hadn't even heard someone entering behind her. And then a voice, where the tone sounded familiar but the accent was not, was asking her to guess who. While she was officially a student of Hogwarts, she hadn't actually met any males that weren't from America like herself and had a British accent like the person behind her, so she wasn't 1000% sure. "Erm... british royalty?" Because maybe that was funny enough to get the person behind her to at least laugh?

But also, did they even still have royalty?

He smirked, waiting for her comment. Oooh this was going to be good. He bit his lip, waiting for it and then he heard it. British royalty? Hehe. He couldn’t hide his laugh. Noah burst into laughter and nearly fell to his knees because he was laughing so hard. The way she said it made it really funny to him. “Close,” chuckled Noah as he removed his hands. “You totally knew it was me….I’ll have to try harder next time.” He gave her an amused smile. He’d think of something next time.

“What brings you up here?” he asked as he reached into his pocket to grab his own letters to mail to his family. He raised his eyebrows and teased. “Sending a loooove letter?” Hopefully NOT to a secret boyfriend back at Ilvermorny....

Well, mission kind of accomplished because the person belonging to the hands on her face was laughing. And it was really the laugh that clued her in on who it was standing behind her. Her face stretched into a grin, while she was also filled with relief. "British Royalty, Noah Nam ... it's synonymous right?" She knew it was him? Apparently she was convincing then, because she had only had a slight hope inkling that it could be Noah behind her. "Pshh, of course I did. Totally." But also not.

What brought her here? Well, the obvious was definitely the letters, but she also just liked the feathered company. "Visiting my new best friend." She pointed her thumb out towards the owl perched next to her letters, probably hoping for more treats. She gave a small snort at his question, nodding her head. "Oh, absolutely. All three of them." Well, I mean, two of the letters did say love. But that was definitely to her parents. The other two were both headed to Ilvermony with mainly taunts and teases.

"But what are you doing up here? Mailing updates to your fan club?" She shot a small wink in his direction to show her teasing.

He pursed his lips when she stated that the British Royalty and Noah Nam were synonymous. "Absolutely," he added as he continued to smirk as she went on to admit that she knew who he was. "Darn. I have to step up my game then..."

He listened intently to her gosh she was pretty when he mentioned that he was visiting her best friend. He clutched a hand to his chest dramatically. "Chloe and I have been replaced?" he teased. "I've been replaced by an owl!" He knew it was compeltely valid for he knew of Kimmie's love for owls. Replaced by an OWL. Just wait till the dormies hear this one... LOL. "Well she or he is quite a good catch then," he nodded before the smile was wiped off his face. THREE boys? Really? Three letters for three boys.... He'd been so sure. "Wow... that's a lot of admirers.." he admitted sadly. "i think you're the one with the fan club now.."

Noah burst into laughter at her question. "One hundred percent accurate, you caught me." He nodded, playing into the question before pausing, "I forgot to send my siblings a letter that I'm alive and well. I'm in trouble."

She grinned at him as he mentioned needing to step up his game, and give a small shrug of her thin shoulders. "Perhaps throwing in a name and some random slang would do it?" He could have always gone with James Bond. That was a popular British character. She still wouldn't have gotten it, although... she might now.

K couldn't help the full laugh that bubbled out at his dramatic antics, shaking her head slightly. "You're right, I misspoke. I much prefer you and Chloe. This new one bites." Or at least tried too, as thankfully she'd been quick enough to remain unscathed so far. Seeing his face, the joke was immensely less funny now. Not just because Noah looked sad, but because he looked sad and seemed to believe that's what she was actually doing. Which, yes, K did not have the greatest track record and she had been fully honest on that. But she was hoping after their last couple of conversations he'd at least know she really was trying to turn over a new leaf because he was kind of someone special to her, friendship wise or ... whatever. She wouldn't risk that now. "It's actually for my parents, my sister Lucy, and my friend Ronan from Ilvermony." Which while yes, Ronan was a guy he was certainly not an admirer.

She chuckled at his response, before giving a small nod of her head in understanding. "I bet they'll understand. It's been a busy beginning to our new Hogwarts careers." She grinned at him, before backing up so she could push herself up to sitting on the desk next to her letters, pulling another treat out of her pocket and throwing it to the owl as she did so. "You sending special letters to your little sisters?" Which, considering Noah seemed like he was a good big brother, they probably actually were his little fan club.

“Perhaps.. .” He paused before chuckling. “Buuuuuuut I have this odd feeling that you’d see through that too.”


Her comment brought a smirk to his lips. “Prefer Chloe and I? Thank Meeerlin. I was starting to worry,” he teased, sending her a wink to let her know that he was kidding and just trying to have some fun. She looked so pretty nice all the time. “Lucy – I remember you mentioning her. Ronan… Who’s Ronan.. your ex-boyfriend?” Hopefully she wasn’t sending messages to her ex—he didn’t know how he’d navigate that. Not that he was jealous. He was just a friend. Mhm. Totally not jealous. LIAR.

Noah nodded, taking a deep breath in. It had been a chaotic start to the beginning of the school term. “It has been pretty busy…” he admitted. The majority of his time was spent on homework, friends, and practicing dance. He raised his eyebrows at her next statement. “For someeee reason, I don’t think you believe me when I say I’m going to send a message to my little sister…” He paused, reaching into his pocket and bringing out the sealed envelopes. “If you don’t believe me, then you are more than welcome to open them.”

She laughed, nodding her head in acknowledgement. "James Bond I would see through. But truth be told? I didn't actually know it was you today. I was immensely relieved it wasn't a stranger." She was not fond of being touched by people she didn't know, and especially when she didn't realize they were in the room with her.

K laughed, nodding her head. "Well, no need to worry, sir. Your position is safe." She smiled at his wink, willing herself not to change any shades of color. It was strange how easily he could affect her, but not at all unwelcome. She couldn't help the look of disgust that her face twisted into momentarily at the thought of Ronan being someone she dated. But then she realized that that was unkind and really there was nothing wrong with her friend, it's just that he was her friend and strictly that. "No, no, NOO. Ro is just my closest friend from Ilvermony. He had a giant crush on my eldest sister, but that's the extent of romantic involvement with the Amstern's." She snorted slightly at the memories that particularly brought up, before focusing her attention on him again.

K frowned slightly at his next words, putting her hands up and shaking her head emphatically. "No, I don't need to do that. Of course I believe you. I mean... why would you make up something different?" She blinked slightly at him. "I was just thinking with the way it sounds like your sisters adore you they might be the real Noah Nam fan club." In like, the most adorable of ways possible.

He blinked. She really didn’t know it was him? “Then I should work on holding back my laughter. I’m sure that’s what gave me away,” he commented, offering her a one of a kind Noah smile.

Clutching a hand to his chest, he sighed. “Thank MELRIN.” And he saw that wink. She was cute when she flirted with him. Then he witnessed the funnest facial expression that he swore he ever saw on Kimmie. Ronan was just a friend. Thank MEEEERLIN. He wasn’t competition. “I see…. Crush on Lucy..? ” he asked with an eyebrow raised. Her comments about him having only that romantic involvement with her family put him at ease.

She was so genuine and adorable! He smiled, watching just OH HOW CuTE she was. ‘I wouldn’t…” he spoke, trying to reassure her. A grin graced his lips when she admitted that she thought her sisters were member of his fan club. “But Kimmie, aren’t you the President of said fan club? I’m sure you’d know or get to know my sisters very well, ” he teased.

K grinned at him, nodding her head when he suggested what his tell really had been. "It definitely was the laugh. You have one of the best laughs, so that's definitely easy to place." Oh merlin, that smile though. K bit her lip and looked away from him briefly, just so she didn't melt into a puddle on the very disgusting owlery floor.

One of the best things about hanging out with Noah is how at ease he was able to out her, and how easy it was for her to laugh with him. He had such a genuine way about him, it was hard not to just be real. There was no fake or forced giggles for attention around him, it was all authentic because that's just how he made people feel. Or, at least, that's how he made her feel anyways. And she felt that with the laugh that escaped her throat at his antics and his dramatics as they were talking and teasing and flirting. Hearing him question if the crush had been Lu, she shook her head. "That's the one that would make sense to me. But no, it was my sister Regina and Ronan was super young at the time with a giant crush. I have three older sisters. Regina and Naia are twins and already graduated, Lu is a 6th year and then there's me and Luke. There's honestly too many of us to keep track of."

She smiled at his gentle reassurance, nodding her head that she understood. She hadn't meant to seem like she was suspicious of him, because genuinely she hadn't been. And even if he were sending out love letters or something of that sort, it's not like she had any sort of a claim to be able to be legitimately bothered by it. Even if she would have been anyways. "Ahh, you did catch me there. As president I'm first changing the criteria to be for people who adore you because you're wonder," And not for those who wanted to snog him, because honestly, she would not do well knowing a list of people that would potentially want to snog Noah, "I do remember you promising me that I could meet them eventually back in Diagon Alley, so perhaps they can just become official members then." She laughed at him, before smirking lightly, "And if that happens, technically I can claim 4 official members and then I win that bet." Was that cheating, though?

He had one of the best laughs?? Really? That made his heart swell with pride. He had never heard that before. He ran a hand through his hair, brushing it back, trying to seem calm when he wasn’t. The compliment that she had bestowed upon him meant the world to him. How could he possibly get more? He’d have to be a good student and learn…

“Regina?” he gasped. “Thank goodness I didn’t but a bet on Lucy then.” He burst into laughter. OHH. He had more sisters than just Lucy? Regina and Naia- he hadn’t heard their names before but now that made sense. “Sounds like a good size family, K.’ She was one of five and he was one of four. It was nice to have big families in common.

He smirked when she mentioned that she was the President of his fan club. He chuckled. She was perfect as said president. “Change the criteria? How so?” he asked curiously. He was a little nervous to hear how she gained fan club members. Hopefully she didn’t get a note in Diagon Alley or on the bulletin board about people who’d be interested in snogging him… he didn’t want to snog anyone except for one girl in particular. He paused when she mentioned that she remembered his promise. Noah almost groaned. “I forgot about that…. But keeping me an honest man… what do I have to do?”

He blinked. “Four members? What’s your prize?”

Kimberly watched him for a moment, a soft smile on her face, before she decided she was probably being a bit on the creepy side and should draw her attention elsewhere.

She laughed with him when he repeated the name, giving a small nod. "I mean, if I'm honest I would be tickled if it had were Lu." Because still, if she had to pick a favorite, it was probably Lucy out of her sisters. They were the closest in age of the girls and while Lucy could still be average sibling annoying, she was also fun most of the time. They both had a strong draw to competition, and it made spending time together easier. "We're huge. Too big." Not really, but also she did feel that way a little bit of the time.

She smiled at he questioned -- almost nervously -- what the change would be. And she shook her head, "Nothing bad. Just easier for me to establish you have one." She poked her tongue out teasingly. "The criteria is pretty much just any female that realizes how sweet and kind and what a gem you are." She grinned at him, and added a short shrug. "I realized I don't particularly want to see a list of girls interested in snogging you." Which... she definitely hadn't meant to admit out loud, but oh well. That was probably common ish knowledge by now. She giggled again at his groan, waving it off with her hand, "You'll be relieved of it this time." Because why not.

And then he asked again what she wanted for her prize, and K grew quiet for a moment as she studied him and tried to determine how bold she wanted to be. Go for the safe answer, perhaps? Just reiterate the fact she wanted him to show her more modern styles of dance as opposed to the classical ballet she was comfortable with? Or did she want to say what she was really thinking?

"A date. Maybe Hogsmeade?"

Lu caused chaos… That made sense to him now. "We're huge. Too big." Not really, but also she did feel that way a little bit of the time.

He rolled his eyes at her antics. She was cute for sure but trying to be the leader--- he didn’t mind too much. Noah listened to her instructions. He paused, watching her give out a group of girls by name and realizing that she didn’t want to see a list of girls who were interested in snogging him. He pulled her closer to him and whispered, “You'll be relieved of it this time”.

"Because why not." 
Wait. No… she must have been joking… She couldn’t have meant that SHE wanted HIM, Noah Nam, to take him on a date?? He studied her expression... apparently she did. AND THE Boy WAS EXCITED.....

K wasn't quite sure when it happened or how, but Noah was suddenly much, much closer to her, close enough that she was now able to hear him quite clearly at a whisper. And between his proximity, his easy use of her own words against her, and the fact that she had just admitted something she hadn't really meant to, her stomach was doing all sorts of somersaults and flips and K could feel her face flush. She bit her lip, suddenly and strangely feeling very shy as she looked down and nodded. "Well, thank you." She said it softly, but that might not have mattered.

She still had her eyes trained on the floor, almost holding her breath for some type of answer. But hearing none, she began to panic a little inside. Apparently she should have gone with safe and not tried to be more suave than she actually was. And now how to back track without making things completely awkward? "Or, I mean, if you'd rather you could just show me a dance routine you learned in your modern classes?"

And now she was switching her offer. UH.. WAIT. He felt like had blacked out or something. Had she really said a date? "NO!" he cried, a little louder than he intended too not realizing how close she was to him.

He glanced at her flushed face and that's when it hit him. Noah realized just how close he was to her- he could practically kiss her if he wanted too. OH. He was very very very very very VERY close to her and he just realized it. Pukwudgie... give him strength not to do something stupid. She was just so pretty and kind and funny and... An endless stream of compliments went through his mind.

Not yet. He couldn't... Not now.. He remembered how upset they had made her friend - no, their friend with their flirting and camaraderie. He still felt bad about Chloe. She was a good friend and perhaps he had led her on a little bit without realizing it. But.. but.. OH he hadn't answered her. That's why she changed the offer...

But the date. The DATE. "Yes." He nodded quickly and became rather awkward. He had lost his cool flirty demeanor at this moment. "To the date. And the dance.

"Hogsmeade. It's a date. You and I," he smiled genuinely at the thought. WOW. She had beaten him to the punch. "When?" Could they have one sooner?

Blink. Well, she was certainly glad she had her head down then and wasn't looking at him, because that was a much fiercer no than she had been expecting. Which was definitely awkward, because had she been misreading things? She must have. Her usual swagger was gone, and she nodded, trying to sink her head a little lower so he wouldn't be able to see her face or the red she was turning. "Oh."

But before she could come up with an excuse to escape and run away, because she was definitely desperately searching for one in her head with how embarrassed she currently was, he was talking again. And saying... yes this time?

Hearing him clarify he actually meant yes to the date, K's head snapped up to look at him, still red in the face. "Yes? But didn't you just --" but she stopped herself. Because why was she questioning it? Snapping her mouth closed before any other words came out, and watched a smile appear on his face. Which naturally made one come to her own as well.

She laughed softly as he asked when, giving a small shrug of her shoulders. "I guess whenever the first Hogsmeade weekend is?" Because if she remembered correctly, they were only allowed to go during certain times. She bit her lip as well, tilting her head to the side as she examined him. "Do I only get this date if I win the bet?"

"Sorry... I was just stunned that you had asked me on a date... I didn't think that'd actually happen...Well you hadn't asked me but you had proposed it as an option.. I mean a prize that you'd get a date and I'm just rambling, aren't I?" he said shutting his mouth momentarily and listening to her propose the time. FIRST HOGSMEADE WEEKEND? When was THAT going to be? Was that soon? Hopefully soon like as in tomorrow? He didn't want to seem too eager because maybe that'd scare her off.

"So is that sooon like in two weeks?" he asked, hopefully not seeming too eager. He had to be cool- he couldn't show how much he already cared for her. AND these feelings were INTENSE. They'd only known each other for a few weeks and now... To be honest, he'd been crushing on her for a while now. He just didn't know if she felt the same. Her next question hung in the air. No. She wouldn't only get this date if she won the bet. But could he be so direct?

Uhhhh...

Then something clicked within him. Be honest. Do what you want. Be yourself, Nam. The Sorting Hat's words interrupted his thought process. He glanced at her, noting that she was looking at him now. "I was planning on asking you out to have a picnic or something by the Lake this weekend... I hadn't y'now... Not that I don't mind- I love that you suggested it. You're decisive. It's one of the things I like about you." Amongst a million other things he could think about. Like her eyes.. .and her sunniness and her unwillingness to do homework that he found utterly attractive. He was getting distracted. This boy was definitely on some high of an emotional rollercoaster. "So to answer your question - no, you wouldn't be just getting this date if it was only for the bet. I would have asked you out in a week..." That being said, he did hope that she did the bet it would be funny. "Although... the bet was pretty comical. I can't believe you offered to set up a fanclub for me."

She continued to just sort of... blink as he started talking, explaining he hadn't expected her to ask or whatever she had technically done. He was begin to ramble about, and she would be a liar if she wasn't to admit how endearing it was. She could feel herself start to giggle, and brought a hand up to her mouth to stifle the noise. She didn't want him to think she was laughing at him. It was more of that she was happy, and he was cute.

She moved her hand so he could see her smile then when he continued to question how soon the Hogsmeade trip would actually be. If she was honest, she didn't actually know the full schedule of that. It just seemed like an appropriate offer at the time. Or maybe that was just the stories of her Hogwarts days presenting themselves. "Well, I'm not actually sure when it is..." Had she asked too soon? There was a good chance it was a month or so down the road. Had she just asked him on a date a month in advance!?

Well. That would be a little embarrassing.

He'd already been planning on asking her out? K's eyebrows rise slightly, just a tiny bit surprised, but still happy and thought it was sweet. She was glad he also didn't mind the fact that she was impatient and usually just bit the bullet to go for what she wanted. "I'm glad that didn't bother you then that I went ahead and asked." And a picnic by the lake sounded nice, and like something she would absolutely enjoy. She was touched that it seemed like he had paid attention to her answer on what an ideal date would be like. She giggled a little as he said he would have asked her out in a week, not bothering to stifle it this time around. "And I definitely still would have said yes." Obviously. She leaned her head back to let out a full laugh as he mentioned the bet, and she made sure to throw a teasing wink his way. "Oh don't you worry, that's still a thing."

She was smiling. He couldn't help smile even more when she saw him smile. It was nice to see her smiling and looking at him and not being awkward or upset with him. He continued to smile, looking like a fool perhaps, as she admitted that she wasn't sure when the first Hogsmeade weekend was. He wanted to tell her that that was okay but stayed silent.

Noah nodded. It didn't bother him that she had made the first move. "It just means that I didn't have to get all wound up about whether or not I should even ask... I thought you had feelings but then I wanted to be sure.. and I couldn't ask any friends for a reference..." he admitted as he covered his face. How embarrassed was he to be admitting that to Kimmie. But for some reason, he felt like she'd understand.

"Perfect. So this .....Saturday?" he asked with a smile. The smile grew bigger again (was it possible for him to be smiling so much - he felt his face getting sore) as she admitted that she would have said yes still. His heart raced. "I should have asked sooner then." Wow.. Was this really happening..? Noah couldn't believe that he was this lucky and that she returned his affections. The two of them had become close over the first few days at Hogwarts and... he was getting lost in his thoughts and emotions again.

She was adorable especially when she laughed. He could listen to that life forever. Was the boy lovesick? Absolutely. Was he embarrassed about it? No. "Excellent. So who's in this fan club, Miss President?" he giggled.

Merlin, he was too cute. She realized it more and more as she spent additional time with him. K didn't do well with forming attachments to people, as she usually preferred to be friendly yet aloof because then she couldn't get hurt later, but with Noah for some reason it had been so easy to get along with him so quickly. When they first met in Diagon Alley, she had definitely thought he was cute, but it also hadn't escaped her notice how easy it was to stand there and talk to him. He had been a perfect stranger, but it quickly had not felt that way.

And the amount that he seemed to have been thinking about her, and the idea of them going out on a date to hang out, was really sweet to her. She tilted her head as he talked about the reliefs of her having gone ahead and asking, briefly questioning, "Why couldn't you ask friends for reference?" Not that it was something of any type of a big deal, she was just curious. Girls seemed like that was the biggest source of gossip and conversation when they got together -- boys.

Saturday? That was soon, yet also felt very far away. K nodded her head, "Saturday sounds good." She could already hardly wait. "Meet at the lake around lunch?" She giggled again when he stated he should have asked earlier, and she shook her head turning her attention to the owl next to her trying to pick into her pockets for the remainder of the goodies. It gave her a minute to try to compose the goofy grin she had on her face, so she wouldn't look so loony. "I think the timing is still pretty perfect."

She gave a small snort when he asked who was in his new fan club, and she shook her head slightly turning her eyes to him again. "Nuh uh, Mr. Nam. I believe we agreed anonymity on that."

"I mean I could... but with the drama around Chloe... I didn't want to risk it. I was afraid of another explosion so I thought that I should just tell you Though I totally would have bounced it off of Minjae." He considered Minjae his person. A like minded friend who he wished had been in his house because he sorely needed someone who was also quieter to help balance the RAWR RAWR Gryffindor vibe. "What... Have you gossiped about me?" he teased, not sure if he wanted to know the answer.

The smile and her adamant response made him grin. Saturday was the date they chose and he'd have plenty of time to prepare with the house elves. He'd have to get on one of their good sides to get the good stuff. Mhmm.. Only the best for Miss K here. Maybe Aboli and Islay could help him with his outfit choice, yes?

He took a step closer her after her comment, smirking, when she mentioned anonymity. "But Miss, I'm sure I could persuade you otherwise," he said, glancing at her lips before his gaze returned to her eyes and he smiled once more. "Ah, I suppose you are right. Those were the terms we agreed too."

Ahh, right. In her bliss, she had nearly forgotten all of the drama. And the fact that she would have to tell Chlo she was going out on an actual date with Noah. And while Chloe had already said she'd be fine with it, K still wasn't looking forward to the conversation. "That definitely makes sense." She ffought the urge to sigh as she didn't want to show any of her trepidation; she wanted to focus on the happy part of today. Minjae? "He's a Hufflepuff right?" K was pretty sure she'd met him at the feast. Had she gossiped about him? "Uh, I guess technically in a way?" But not as being someone she was interested in.

Awkward.

K bit her lip again when he stepped closer, his quick glance towards her lips not going unnoticed with his, accompanied by his flirty words. "I don't know, I think you could probably convince me of a lot, but I take this job very seriously." She teased, looking up at him from lowered lashes. "And I'm sure you are a man of your word."

Noah nodded in response to Kimmie's question. "Yeah, he's my closest male mate here at Hogwarts..."
