| | Mirror Not far from the balcony, a large gilded mirror can be found on the fourth-floor corridor. Once upon a time, the mirror hid a secret passageway that would take anyone to Hogsmeade undetected at any time. Unfortunately, there was a cave in mid-way that made the passage end up not leading anywhere. Nevertheless, if you're in a pickle and can get the mirror off the wall and back again, you would at least have a neat hiding place.
Most people just try using the mirror to check on their appearance throughout the day. Oddly enough, however, the mirror doesn't show ones reflection. Always being shown in the mirror is a scene of handsome chandeliers, elegant landscape oil paintings, and golden draperies, which is not at all what the wall of the corridor behind you looks like. This is, of course, one of Hogwarts' many mysteries. The location of the room that the mirror is showing is unknown to everyone today. But every now and then, a dark figure can be spotted in the background before disappearing again.

Even now despite being a prefect and obviously having done his duties for a year previously, the tall Ravenclaw couldn’t help but feel…odd as he walked the corridors of Hogwarts at night. It felt strange to be out of bed so late but what felt even more strange was the eerie quietness that exuded from the empty classrooms and corridors. Everything was so peaceful that is made him shiver as he walked through the fourth-floor corridor past the balcony.
It wasn’t often that he’d actually found students out of bed so he had no idea why he was feeling particularly uptight tonight. He just had a feeling as though something was different. He had a feeling that someone was out of bed and it did not bode well will with him at all. No sir.
That feeling was not helped by the reflection of the broken mirror on the wall. Well, it wasn’t broken but it only showed the same thing over and over. But…he could have swore he saw something different in it just now when he’d walked past. Was…that someone’s, reflection, behind him? No, it couldn’t have been. The mirror only shows paintings and chandeliers and various other weird things. It couldn’t have been…
But…there it was again…a dark figure. Was someone following him or was it just in the mirror? Turning away from the mirror, his wand out in front of him illuminating the way, his eyes darted around in search of the mysterious figure who had been following him, maybe? "Hello" |

"Hello" Was it wrong to want to keep tabs on her older co-prefect? Maybe just a little, but Carsyn was hopeful that by watching and observing his behaviors, she might be able to prevent any emo from occurring at the end of the term. Of course it was his seventh year and emo was sure to happen, if nothing more than due to the uncertainty of the post-Hogwarts era.
Mirror corridors were not good for keeping incognito though because she was sure to have her cover blown in a matter of seconds with the right glimpse into the mirror and the angle. He knows she winced slightly at the hello, chewing on her lower lip. To reveal herself or not. No, she wait, be quiet, perhaps he'd chalk it up to a scurrying small animal.

He did not like this. Not one bit. Slowly, Ewan turned back towards the mirror, his eyes searching for something, anything that might reveal who or what was following him. If it was one of those young Gryffindors who were out of bed again trying to be the next Harry Potter, he’d stun them and just leave them behind the mirror for a few days.
Nothing extraordinary in the mirror caught his eye though. It was the same as usual. He must have been imagining things.
But…those were foot-steps?! Turning quickly, he started to walk back the way he came down the corridor, wand extended in front of him, ready to catch the little sneak thief who had decided to follow him!
Wand clutched tightly in his sweaty hands, heart beating as though it were ready to pop out of his chest, Ewan took another step away from the mirror towards the mysterious miscreant, ready to catch them red handed.

Carsyn held her breath when the Ravenclaw Prefect glanced around and not seeing anything he turned back around but then just as she was about to continue her following, he did something she hadn't been planning on.
He turned around back down the corridor the way he came and inconveniently, right towards her. Drawing her breath again, she closed her eyes as if that would make her invisible because she was not ready to be caught yet. She hadn't been observing him nearly long enough to determine what made him tick.
Was there enough time to wriggle behind the mirror? Probably not, so instead she just pressed herself as flat as she could against the wall and hoped it would be enough for him to not notice her in the dark

Probably not, so instead she just pressed herself as flat as she could against the wall and hoped it would be enough for him to not notice her in the dark Ewan just stared ahead of him down the seemingly empty for a moment as the coldness of the night and the light illuminating from the end of his wand caused his breath to fog his vision somewhat. He stood there, his eyes moving from left to right, searching for a sigh, anything that might give away his would be stalker but…there was nothing. ”No ones following you stupid. Pull yourself together” he whispered under his breath as he turned around, his eyes now on the mirror again, his wand now falling to his side so that he could inspect it properly without the light obstructing his view. Someone may not be following him but he could have swore he saw something in the mirror earlier, a figure of some kind. It was only for a fleeting moment but he knew what he saw.
And then there was the hidden passage behind the mirror. He knew that it used to lead somewhere but now, it was more used as a hiding spot for…kids. Taking a step back, he pointed his wand at the mirror and non-verbally levitated the mirror off the wall, curious if anyone was hiding behind it.
Either way, there was no getting away now…

Either way, there was no getting away now… She was actually pretty gooood at this keeping quiet thing. Better than she thought she might be, since Carsyn was always the twin who spoiled surprise birthdays with her loud mouth by saying something dumb. Growth, perhaps?
She bit her lip to keep from snickering at the whispering but it was the movement of the mirror that would ruin things for her. While she wasn't hiding behind it, because she hadn't had time to properly hide behind it without revealing herself, it was when he moved it however that the corridor light combined just right with the mirror reflection to light up the side of the wall where she was pressed against.
Doing the only thing she could think to do, she shut her eyes. It was inevitable.

Doing the only thing she could think to do, she shut her eyes. It was inevitable. The mirror was half way to the ground when he noticed it then, a figure in the background, pressed up against the wall but not at all hidden. No. His eyes lingered for a moment on the mysterious stranger as the mirror slowly descended to the ground, only moving from the…girl? Yes, only moving from the girl when the mirror was safely on the floor resting up against the wall.
Without warning, the prefect turned and ran over the figure, his wand held up high and to his surprise…the long haired, slender figure of another prefect was pressed up against the wall, trying and failing to hide from him. ”What the…” he mumbled under his breath as he came face to face with her, a mixture of confusion and suspicion on his face as his eyes met the eyes for the first time. ”What’s up Carsyn? I did realise you were on duty tonight too?”. He knew full well she wasn’t on duty with him tonight in fact so whatever reason she had for following him had better be good.
