Hey All You Cool Cats & Kittens... Kneazles & Wampus Kittens, that is
Williamson typically scheduled his classes for later in the day so that he had time to get up, get moving, and get all the Hogwarts animals (including himself) fed and watered. Today was no exception. The first Care of Magical Creatures class was starting after lunch, and hopefully, both you (and the cat you brought with you) are alert and ready to learn.
As you walk down to the fenced-in area where class is usually held, you notice that the grassy area in the center is set up like some kind of obstacle course, but not for people of your size. What is set for your size are the various stumps and bales of straw around the edge of the course for you to sit on.
"Don't let the cats out yet," the Professor warns you as you come in. He, meanwhile, is standing by some kind of covered crate with hidden contents and has a dusty old chalkboard beside it for teaching. And if you didn't bring a cat, don't worry: the Hogwarts kneazles are roaming around inside the fenced-in area, brushing up against you and each other in a very friendly way.
OOC: HELLO! Welcome. If you have a pet cat or an illegal kneazle, feel free to RP for them in a different color. You can also RP for a Hogwarts kneazle, if you want to snag one of those.

It was creatures time! After a pretty busy morning, Aboli found she really wanted a nap. She was USED to naps at home so...like...she skipped lunch to have a catnap. And speaking of cats, there were so MANY. The fifth year didn't have one of her own, so she took a cheeky-peek at the school ones. Did she want a fluffy one? A mean one? A mean one might be fun, and sure, she wouldn't mind being scratched, but eh. It might be a lot of work.
So she picked a white one with some black tabby lines. He was cute. Was it a HE? She checked quickly - oh yes, a he. Coming to stand near where the chalkboard and professor were, she held the kneazle gently in her arms like a baby. How cuuuuute.
"Afternoon, Professor Williamson," she said quite calmly.
First OFFICIAL year at Hogwarts, and here she was, being on time. The eagerness from earlier had, thankfully, worn off with her nap, so she would quit being insufferable shortly. Hopefully.

But of course ... this first lesson was about cats ... didn't he just have a discussion this summer with Isla about cats ... he was a dog person ... and cats were ... well cats. So obviously he didn't have one, he didn't really even want to work with them .. but non the less .....
Taking a seat on a hale bale and smiling up at the Professor. "Hello Professor." Blake was unsure of his name ... he was sure doing the feast it would have been mentioned, but well he was busy looking for Isla and Bernadette... neither of which he was successful, his detective skills kinda sucked.

Rudy was usually a very laid back cat, but for some reason he was NOT in the mood to go to class today. Nettie had struggled to get him in his cat basket and had the scratches to prove it. What had gotten in to him today? He was always so well behaved! Angry little meows escaped the basket every few minutes, and every once in a while a white paw would poke out of the small opening next to the latch and fruitlessly swat at the air.
"Hello," Nettie said with a small smile as she took a spot near the back. Immediately she felt a kneazle brush up against her leg, which seemed to just make Rudy even more irritated as he yowled from inside his basket.
This was going to go well...

SO FAR SO GOOD.
The Headman hadn't been kidding when he said they needed a good night's rest and there would be classes first thing. Not that it mattered to Kitt. Everything was so new for this muggleborn shut away and he was ready to stretch his wings and finally dive into E V E R Y T H I N G.
So far, Hogwarts did not disappoint. The food was amazing, better than anything he'd eaten before and after every meal, he found himself looking forward to the next. Best place in the world, it was official.
"Hey, Professor." The Third Year practically had a bounce in his step. They should soak it in while it lasted but he was here for it.
"I don't have a cat and I don't know what a kneazle is but that probably means I don't have it ei--oh, hi there." Mid whatever he was saying to the Professor, he felt something against his leg. What a cute...strange....looking kitty. "What breed are these? Can I keep this one? I think he likes me?" Funny looking cat this one. Were these magical cats? Did cats have magic, TOO?
Kitt took the spot by that Blake bloke, knowing he at least was in his year. "Hey...hey mate, this one look like a winner to you?" There was an obstacle course. Clearly there would be competition.

Ilya finished his lunch, worked on some puzzles in the common room before finally making his way down to class. He was wondering what kind of weird creatures they'd be handling today, oh he hoped it was something that they'd never seen before! This was the third year, after all, where magic is supposed to be accentuated, right? RIGHT??
... cats?
Ilya bet this class was going to be loud. Bernie must be ecstatic and will keep shouting and stuff. It was both funny and annoying. "Hello, professor." He greeted the man standing next to the chalkboard before taking a seat on one of the stacks. Almost immediately this Kneazle walked over to him and jumped up to sit on his lap. He had no choice at this point but to pet it and... claim it? Yeah. The Kneazle was tabby so that was cute.
After lunch (read: sitting with Pax and hearing all her terrible and entertaining updates), Nem headed off to the fenced off area where the Creatures lessons were held, with neither cat nor kneazle in tow. Care of Magical Creatures was the one elective that Nem had picked based on personal interest - unless tormenting Finneas Schmoe counted as a personal interest... which, actually, on reflection, it did - but that didn't mean this Williamson guy was automatically let off the hook. Judgement was being reserved, and already they were not getting off to a great start for one main reason: kneazles. Not that Nem didn't like them, but they had always intended to get one as a kitten - they were more receptive as youngsters, making it easier to work around that unfortunate tendency common to the entire breed.
But anyway. "Good afternoon, Professor." Williamson, yes. And?
Ignoring the crate and the obstacle course, Nem took a seat on one of the stumps provided, giving all the roaming kneazles a wide berth for the moment. Best to let one of them come over, though Nem was nevertheless keeping an eye out for any that looked particularly young, stupid, or irascible.

Now this. This was a class she could really get into. A class that started juuuuuust a little after she had woken up and also a class that allowed her to bring the only other living thing at Hogwarts who she knew with her.
Sure, her cat wasn't the greatest at keeping her company. And sometimes she didn't think it was a cat at all. But, the nice shopkeeper who sold the creature to her had assured her it was indeed a cat, and well, there they were.
"Hello, Professor!" Flora smiiiiiled at the man before turning ever so slightly and gesturing towards the cat who was dangling limply under her arm. "Is it okay if my cat is broken?"

After lunch Cole headed down to the fenced in grassy area for the first CoMC lesson of the year. In his right hand he held a safe grip on his cat carrier where his cat Elena was meowing a little unhappily from inside. He had woken her up from a nice nap on top of his pillow in the lion dorms, before he had put her in the carrier. That they got to bring their pets to class was awesome. Professor Williamson seemed like a cool professor, but the lesson would show more of how he was as a professor. Things seemed promising though.
Coming down to the fenced in grassy area with the obstacle course and with many kneazles walking about Cole firstly turned his eyes and attention to their professor, flashing him a bright smile. "Good afternoon Professor Williamson. I hope it’s okay if i keep my cat in her carrier until the lesson starts? I'm not sure if Elena will like all the other cats and kneazles." He had only known her for a week so he was still learning her personality and likes. Going over to an empty hay bale after giving the obstacle course a glance over, Cole took off his backpack and placed it on the ground. Taking a seat on the bale, he placed Elena’s carrier in his lap as he waited for class to start.

She didn't have a cat; that was her sister. The only pet Carsyn had was a Mongolian Gerbil that she had gotten at an adoption fair like two years ago, which was currently curled up in a ball in her robe pocket. The obstacle course her eyes fixed themselves upon arriving to the creatures lesson that afternoon was one that Carsyn quickly realized wouldn't be suitable for a gerbil, unless she wanted to lose it.
The Creatures Professor was tall and easy on the eyes, to which Carsyn only hoped it would improve her attention span in the class. Acceptable wasn't bad, but she had hoped for at least an E.
Kneazles though....interesting. Would Cleo be safe? Reaching her hand instinctively into her robe pocket, she coddled the gerbil feeling it quiver beneath her fingertips. Perhaps leaving it in its cage in her dorm would have been wiser. "Good afternoon, Professor," the prefect stated, glancing down at one of the kneazles that found a comfortable place curled up by her feet, as if sensing the quivering small mammal she had in her pocket.

Jillian didn't really mind eating a lot for lunch. She settled for a sandwich and hopped over to the creatures class, a favorite of hers and upon entering the place it became 10 times more. She saw the mini obstacle- she figured they were going to deal with a creature as per usual and to her surprise they were cats or well, kneazles. One for every student? Like a giveaway for coming to class, yes? She is definitely here to enjoy.
A smile formed on her lips as her eyes wandered around, spotting the professor. Mr. Williamson right? "Hello, Professor" she greeted with a smile. And cue the adorable kneazle that brushed against her right leg. Obviously she has to take it .... Wait! Are they allowed to keep these after class?

Claudine made her way down to the grounds for the scheduled CoMC lesson of that day. Having no pet kneazle, she, of course, could not have brought one. In any case, she reasoned that at least one would be provided for whatever the lesson called for. "Good day, Professor." She gave him one of her famous intense gazes before moving to find a seat, bearing in mind the crate in their presence.
Normally, she would sit by herself but today, for some reason, she chose to sit with Nem. There was something about his bubbly personality that would be good for her. "Hi, Nem,'' she said, choosing a stump right next to his. "Had a good lunch?"

This whole 'sneaking a kneazle into Hogwarts without permission' was turning out to be easier than she thought. The professor himself was even holding a lesson on them, and he had even encouraged the students to bring them along! EASY PEASY! Nevermind the fact that Isla still hadn't formally asked for permission to have her kneazle here at the school. She'd brought along Maleficent anyway. Maybe this new guy ('Friend of Schmoe', apparently) would just think he'd given the go ahead! After all, any friend of Schmoe's would probably just go along with whatever, right?
"Hello, Professor!" she said, and she gave the most nonchalent 'hey, how you doin' wave she could. Then she moved off to the side, by her super awesome third year crush Blake, and waited for class to begin. "Hey, Blake!" she greeted.

After mirroring her mother last night, Chloe was interested in this lesson. Her mother was going on about how all the girls adored him when she was at school, but what she enjoyed were his lessons. So if her mother enjoyed the lessons, Chloe thought that this might actually be interesting.
Heading down to the grounds with Teacup following behind her she reached the class and looked around. Deciding it might be better to hold her cat she reached down and picked her up. "Hello Professor.. I umm.." Well this was a bit more awkward than she thought it would be. "I was mirroring my mother last night and said about the new professors, she was excited to hear you were back teaching. "
With that Chloe turned and headed for a seat not even saying her mother had said hello or anything. She did however try to figure out his age, because how young was he when he taught if the girls were all about him? She just didn't see it.

Curtis was here. He couldn't help smirking at the sight of the cats around. Considering the conversation he had at the feast, it was quite a coincidence to see these cats and kneazles. Isla could stop looking like she needed to pee. As for Curtis? He was a dog person, he was raised around dogs thanks to you know who. But cats were cool too, they didn't always bother you when you weren't in the mood to give pets. "Sup Professor." He was old, but didn't look as old as his parents to escape the cool ranks.
So where was Curtis going to sit, right by Chloe who he noticed was staring at the Professor. "So that's your type, huh?" He smirked. Taller with facial hair. He couldn't relate, but he was trying to grow some stubble. Trying be the key word.
It was the first Care of Magical Creatures lesson of the year and Ewan was pretty psyched for it. A new teacher, a new school year and hopefully no detentions this year. Heading down from the Great Hall after lunch on his own as he owned no cat (Not with Kingsley in the house), he reached the fenced area with plenty of time to spare, eager to learn.
Figuring that the obstacle course in front of them was for the cats or kneazles, he wandered over into the throng of the giant cats and waited for one to approach him, giving the professor a nod and a pleasant ”Good afternoon Professor. How’s your day been?” as he did so. After last year, he’d decided to make a little extra effort to be that extra bit pleasant and approachable. He didn’t want to leave Hogwarts with a bad reputation.
After a minute or two, the giant prefect bent down and outstretched his hand towards a jet black Kneazle with a friendly smile. ”Hey there little guy” He had to admit, he kind of liked the little fellow. After all, he’d wandered over to him despite the fact that he was a giant in comparison.
Standing up with a smile as the Kneazle nuzzled against his legs, he flashed a few smiles to some of the students he knew before heading towards Chloe ”Hey, what’s up assassin?” flashing her a grin now as he nudged her gently. He didn’t want to send her flying after all, even if it had been amusing when he’d done it in the summer. Not wanting to seem too rude, he also flashed a polite smile and nod towards the guy (Curtis) on her other side ”Hey, What’s up?” not really looking for an answer but you know, it was polite.

Care of Magical Creatures was Naya’s absolute favorite class. She was extremely excited and couldn’t wait to get started on the day’s lesson. Arriving at the class area, she took in the scene. Oh this was going to me interesting. “Hello Professor”, she said cheerfully. Cats and kneazles. What more could they ask for.
Taking a seat on a hay bale next to Cole, Naya tried to get a peek at his cat. “Hey Cole, is that your new friend?” What had happened to his rats was really sad. She was glad that he had a new pet to help take his mind off of his loss. As she set her bag down, Naya noticed that a kneazle had decided to in front of her, but not too close. He looked at her as if he was sizing her up and deciding if she was worthy of his company. Naya chuckled to herself and waited patiently for the kneazle to make his move. “It’s ok. I wont bite.” As if understanding her words, the kneazle inched closer until he was right at Naya’s feet. Was he going to be her partner for the day?

Care of Magical Creatures had always been a subject that Avalon didn't mind, but it wasn't necessarily one that she looked forward to either. But she was more than excited for today's lesson, because it involved CATS! Finally, she could bring Shadow to class. She had been dreaming of this day since she came to Hogwarts. Shadow was such a clever cat, but he never got the chance to show off his skills. Unlike the owls, who could at least deliver letters, Shadow didn't have much of a purpose, other than to keep Avalon company.
With Shadow tucked under her arm, she traipsed down to the castle grounds, only to see some sort of an agility course set up. Were they going to be doing agility with cats? Avalon thought those types of obstacle courses were only for dogs. Nevertheless, she greeted the new professor with a friendly smile. "Good day, Professor." She took a seat on a bale of straw, keeping Shadow on her lap for now.

After attending Hogwarts for a year, Heath had learned that most of the professors here weren't mean and scary, but that didn't stop him from feeling a little nervous about his first lesson with the new COMC professor. It always took him some time to warm up to people he didn't know, but so far, this lesson made a great first impression. Any lesson that let him bring Rey along was okay by him!
Normally the little gray bobtail cat would've been bounding along the path at Heath's side, but he decided to play it safe and keep her in her cat carrier for now… and Rey was NOT happy about it! The cat kept pawing at the bars, meowing loudly (though Rey's meow sounded more like a high pitched Meep!). "Hello, Professor," Heath greeted, giving the man a polite nod of acknowledgment.
He took a seat on the nearest empty hay bale, gently setting Rey's carrier down beside him. His eyes darted from the roaming kneazles to the obstacle course. If that was going to be used for what he thought it would, he and Rey were going to wipe the floor with the competition!

Missa had been looking forward to this lesson. But she really wasn’t looking forward to the .... cats and kneazles part of this lesson. After all, what exactly would she learn if she ended up sneezing the entire time?
Nevertheless, the brunette found her way to the fenced in area - only to go stand at a corner where the Kneazles wouldn’t get to her ..... yet.
“Morning, professor,” she greeted the man, all the while totally envying how easily some of her fellow classmates were getting along with these creatures.

Time was flying. He felt like he had just gotten out of the 8 am class, scoffed down lunch, and then ran to his next class. Wow- today was flying past. With how quickly things seemed to be progressing, Noah thought he was going to be a little late so he fast walked to the next class. He was fine.
An obstacle course? Hmm... Interesting. He wondered what they were going to do today. Lead cats and kneazles through the obstacle course or be lead by the cool cats and kneazles? Ah yes, now time to choose a companion for this. He wished he had Jinx with him but he had left the cat at home with his siblings. His youngest sister couldn't bear the thought of being separated from him so Noah and the feline had to say their adieus.. OH? What's that? He could feel something rubbing against his leg. Glancing down he found a bright marmalade coloured kneazle who looked as if he was using his leg to get rid of an itch. He slowly bent down, holding his hand towards it, and watched as the kneazle immediately brushed up against his friend. "Aren't you friendly..." he spoke with a smile. "Want to be my partner? Can I pick you up?" The kneazle continued brushing against his hand contentedly. Noah began to stand back up and the creature looked offended that he had dared stand up and remove the hand. "Can I pick you up?" he asked before reaching down to cradle the kneazle in his arms.
With a very content kneazle in his arms, he joined the rest of the students near the chalkboard. "Afternoon Professor! How's your day?" he greeted.

Louise was SO EXCITED.
Not only did she get to bring her cat to class, but the class was being taught by her BFF/favorite fake uncle. Louise had been stoked when Uncle Willy had returned from his long and lame adventure in Alaska, but she had been even more stoked to find out that he was going to be her TEACHER.
He would always give her A's, right?
Louise walked down to the lesson, her white kitty cat chilling coolly in her arms as she approached. She beamed at the professor when she got to him. "Hi Uncle Will-" Um, oops. Louise paused. "Errr..... professor." She gave the man a sparkling smile as she stepped inside. She had better work on that, huh?
In a fabulous mood, Louise found a stump to sit on and placed Lucy (her white kitty) on her lap, petting her while they waited for class to start.

This was it, her first REAL experience with her mum’s FAVORITE professor ever and Cecelia was excited to see what the guy was all about. It was kinda cool that after AGES he’d returned to Hogwarts to teach and she felt pretty lucky to be one of the kids he was teaching. again. after ages. Hey, he still looked pretty great for an old guy! Good on him!
”Hi Professor Williamson, I’m Cecelia Summers.” She grinned a little, tucking some of her long golden hair behind her ear. ”Thing is, I couldn’t decide WHAT pet I wanted this summer when I turned thirteen, so I don’t have a feline of my own juuuust yet.” But she WOULD be getting some kind of pet soon. That is, when she actually made a decision about what she wanted. ”But I’ll be super kind to one of the school kneazles. Creatures LOVE me.” She nodded seriously, gave the man a thumbs up, and headed to find herself a seat. She eyed up the kneazles to see which one looked like it would like her BEST while she waited for class to start.

Nina was a not a fan of this class. She was, however, a fan of attending university and so sacrifices had to be made and she planned on receiving top marks regardless of any dislike for the subject matter itself. So despite her own personal qualms, she made her way over eyeing the.... obstacle course as she walked to the fenced area. She did not want to get friendly with any of the cats (and or kneazles, apparently) that her classmates had come to class with.
As such, she made her way over towards the corner that Missa was currently occupying. "Hey," she greeted the girl her friend(?) before looking back over at the rest of the rest of the crowd that had gathered round. If Professor Williamson was expecting any sort of verbal greeting from the Slytherin, he would be severely disappointed to know that all he'd be receiving was a polite nod.

Standing up with a smile as the Kneazle nuzzled against his legs, he flashed a few smiles to some of the students he knew before heading towards Chloe ”Hey, what’s up assassin?” flashing her a grin now as he nudged her gently. He didn’t want to send her flying after all, even if it had been amusing when he’d done it in the summer. Not wanting to seem too rude, he also flashed a polite smile and nod towards the guy (Curtis) on her other side ”Hey, What’s up?” not really looking for an answer but you know, it was polite.
As she continued to try to figure out his age someone had come to sit next to her. She didn't notice until he had spoke, which his words did make her turn and give him a look and then blushed not realizing she was staring, "No, no, not at all. I don't... do old. My mother had in him school and she said that girls always fancied him, but I was trying to figure out why."
Merlin why would Curtis even think that. 'If you are sitting here you better behave today. Teacup isn't one to enjoy trouble." She pet her cat and tried to forget he actually though she would like a professor, ewwww gross. Before saying anything else though Ewan came to sit on her other side, now, if she was talking about what her type really was, "Hey Spidey." More blushing that she hoped both boys wouldn't notice.
