Spare Office https://s26.postimg.cc/9z941s68p/spa...ice-banner.jpg If you happen to try one of the doors near the end of the sixth-floor corridor, you might just find yourself in a handsome (if not dusty and aged) office of a surprisingly large size. The faint smell of crystallized pineapple seems to linger in the air of the room, which contains numerous side doors and nooks and crannies. Unfortunately for you, all of them remain firmly locked so there is no telling what lies behind them. |
Gone were the days of studying in private. Nina Castillo was in her sixth year now, which meant she obviously knew better than to let the opinions of others influence the way she saw herself. Obviously. She was only here because the rest of the castle was far too noisy. It had nothing to do with the fact that this spare office was typically empty. After making her way inside, she carefully closed the door behind her and immediately went for a corner.Though she typically did not like sitting on the floor, she had to make some sacrifices as there was no furniture in this room. She was sure that this was what kept students from frequenting it in the first place and as such, had very few complaints. Advanced Runes theory. Her favorite. |

She had not replicated that charm with success since then, though. The second-year was already stretched out on the rug by the fireplace, her favourite spot besides the crowded common room, to lay out and read. She had brought her own pillow and had her Charms book rather close to her face as she read. She almost jumped when the door to the room opened and shut rather quickly, and had to sit up to see who (or WHAT) had done that. Maybe it was her house ghost after all?! "Hello," she called out, moving her book just below her eyes so she could peek around. Hmm, she didn't see anyone moving, but she also wasn't looking ALL over. Someone could be behind her, for all she knew. But the Gryffindor wasn't really bothered by the presence of ghosts and house elves, so she shrugged and carried on with her reading. |
DAVID?? TRUEBRIDGE??? you mean??? MY HERO?? Quote:
EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEk! She didn't scream. She was a LADY. |
lmao no i was just being a little bit alexis :3 Quote:
"Um, I'm studying?????" Bernie replied, pointing to her book like duhhhhhhhh. Why were Slytherins so dense? Seriously. "What are you doing here?" she turned the question around. And also, before Bina or whatever her name was thought of it, added, "And I was here first." Obviously. Look at how settled she was. She kicked her feet to and fro behind her in the air. |
oh well we should talk about David Truebridge now anyway because re:mY HERO Quote:
Nina gave the girl a look, before pointing to her books. "I'm here to study," not adding a 'too' on purpose. "And my studies are more rigorous. I have upcoming NEWTs." They weren't this year, but starting early was very important. So in other news her 'here first' excuse was one-upped and she should probably leave now. That would be ideal for everyone involved. |
Davie = b o r i n g! He makes potions for a living, idk what else xP Uh huh. Bernie had been expecting this answer, about how much busier and more important the older girl was; she always had something along these lines to say to everyone. But she underestimated Bernadette O. Grantham, who was widely known for being particularly stubborn and who showed no signs of being scared off by the likes of Nina Castillo. "I have OWLS coming up," the second year replied with a loud scoff. She flipped back to her book. "Jog off. This office has been claimed. By me." So. Byeeeeee, Felicia! Did she also need to mention that she was determined to defend her territory? Bernie knew spells. She did. And she wasn't afraid to use them. |
he is not boRING YOU TAKE THAT BACK ! ! ! i will fite u Quote:
"Please," Nina eyed the younger girl. "You're twelve." Which meant that A) OWLs were not an urgent concern B) Nina Castillo had seniority and C) she was a literal child. So. Like. Bye. But... Nina knew that Bernadette had a much stronger case. The younger girl had found the classroom first after all. And so, Nina put on a smile despite herself. "But... I'll let you share." She paused for a moment. "My boyfriend will join us too. He's very affectionate. I hope you don't mind." She hadn't told Calyx to join her in studying today. But... He was very affectionate. So it wasn't a complete lie. |
no u won't :3 it's truuuuuuuuu he a boring Bernie was indeed twelve, and proud of it. "I'm nearly thirteen," she informed the older girl anyway, feeling just a smidgen proud that the older She eyed her again and exhaled loudly and dramatically, as though it pained her to agree to allow Nina to stay. Secretly, she wanted to know just WHO Nina Castillo's boyfriend was, and WHAT she meant by affectionate? Ewww, were they... were they going to SNOG in here??! "Fine, it's whatever," Bernie turned another page of her book. "I mean, I've heard little kids like me can like, ruin the romance, but I'm sure it won't bother you two." And what was it like to have a VERY affectionate boyfriend anyway? Bernie was V E R Y curious of this arrangement, so as grossed out as she was by potential PDA, she was sticking around. |
I'm ready to fight!!!!! Quote:
....... Though Nina was hoping that this would cause Bernadette to abandon her post, she didn't show it. Instead, the Slytherin smiled. "Calyx won't mind," she assured her. If he were to be coming, he really wouldn't mind at all. He didn't have an issue with being affectionate in front of others. That was more of a Nina-thing. "We'll probably snog anyway," she looked over at the Gryffindor when she said this. "This is our favorite room for that." |
ok but i will just let u win xD Nina could lie to herself all she wanted, but Bernie knew she was secretly impressed by how Gryffindawesome Bernadette was. The older girl was probably even a little bit jealous, all things considered. Had Nina been suspended as only a first year? Probably not. Had Nina been promoted to Teaching Assistant as a first year? Definitely not. Had Nina--- well, Bernie could go on with this all day. So she let that whatever roll right off her back like a duck with water. "Keihlicks is a weird name," was all Bernie commented. She did kind of make a face about the snogging, but did not even flinch. Nope, not leaving. "So where is he, then?" she prompted Nina and casually turned another page in her book. "I mean, if he's so affectionate, shouldn't he like.... be following you around the school?" |
and u know what, I'm fine with that Nina was impressed by no such thing. Gryffindors were all havoc-wreakers and she wanted nothing to do with any of them. Except for Calyx... And Lenora... And Józef. But those were the only ones she tolerated. Every other Gryffindor? The WORST. Suspension was hardly anything to brag about. Nina had been on the receiving end of a few detentions and point loss, both of which were horrible experiences and she would NEVER advertise them. Suspension? Absolutely unthinkable. "Cay-licks," she corrected the younger girl with clear annoyance. When she had first met him, 'strange name' had been her initial though too. But coming from anyone else, this comment was terribly rude! "It's cute and unique," the sixth year eyed the girl. "Just like him." Which was true. That was also something she had thought the first time. Strange name for a strange boy. It suited him. Of course she didn't think any of that now. She had matured. Which was yet another distinction between herself and Bernadette. "He's still in the greenhouse, I'm sure," she replied without a moment's pause. "He should be here soon." Again, she eyed the girl. Truly the second year had such audacity! "He usually does. But he'll make up for it with kisses when he's here." Which would be the truth if Calyx were to come, though Nina only said it to try to make the girl uncomfortable. So that she'd, like, LEAVE. |
yes, master *curtsy* "Kaaaaaaaay-licccccccccckssssss," Bernie drawled in an impression of Nina, one she found to be quite accurate. She probably needed to hold her nose and adopt a superiority complex to really nail it, though. Some people were just so stuck-up that their bad attitudes infiltrated even their speaking voice. Like in this one. She wrinkled her nose at the lovey-dovey words Nina was now using, like cute and unique and kisses. She almost groaned and shouted EWWW but resisted, resisted because this was surely just part of Nina's plan to gross her out. Two could play at this game, right? "What do your parents think of him?" Bernie asked instead, sure to keep her tone level and not at all snarky. "Do they approve of a Slytherin dating a Gryffindor? Do they know how much he kisses you? Do they let you two be alone when you're outside of school?" She looked up from her book with a careful, almost interested expression on her face, and made a soft little clucking sound in warning. "I mean, I'm sure the professors here would not want two lovebirds snogging in a spare room. They don't even let the boys go up the stairs to the girls' dormitories." At least this was true in Gryffindor house; she hadn't been to any other common rooms. And thank GOODNESS though because boys were annoying as hell |
thanks! come again! Nina wrinkled her nose at the younger girl. Whatever voice the younger Gryffindor was using was incredibly annoying, did she know? The Slytherin watched Bernadette, hoping to catch her slip up. The nose wrinkle was promising, but not enough. Which meant that Nina had to work harder, which she had no problem doing. Before she could do so, however, it appeared as if Bernadette took it upon herself to start some sort of interrogation. "My parents wouldn't care about Hogwarts Houses," she gave the girl a judgemental look. That would be entirely ridiculous. Her parents hadn't even attended Hogwarts and besides, they knew better than to judge someone's character off of an arbitrary sorting process. Nina deemed the rest of the girl's questions as entirely unnecessary. Calyx hadn't met her mum yet, but he would. They had plans. Everyone loved Calyx, her mum's approval was not something to worry over. Her parents also wouldn't ever know how much she kissed Calyx because this was information no one ought to be privy to. And, of course they would let them be alone. She was almost of age. It was the last thing that Bernadette said that made Nina raise her eyebrows. "Would you tell on us?" |
:3 i'm just happy to RP with u Quote:
She had, by now, completely forgotten about her Charms book by now, and was just plainly studying Nina's face. Why didn't the older girl answer her questions, Bernie wondered. She stared Nina down, and let a long, slow pause develop after Nina's question. "Depends." Bernie answered, after much contemplation. "Why WOULDN'T I tell on you?" She was always, always looking for the Headmaster's favor, after all. |
uh O.o better late than never? isorry. Nina could tell there was something going on in Bernadette's head. And because she knew that the girl wouldn't be bright enough to connect the dots on her own, she decided to help her out. "They went to Beauxbatons." You're welcome. It wouldn't happen again though. Nina didn't like to give away helpful information for free. The pause didn't bother Nina whatsoever, nor did the staring. She spent time on her makeup every morning. Staring was welcome. Otherwise looking nice would go to waste, wouldn't it? Besides, she couldn't help it that she was so nice to stare at. A picture would last longer though, perhaps she ought to suggest that? Besides, evading Bernadette's questions had been an entirely conscious decision. Nina didn't owe her responses, nor was it any of her business to have inquired in the first place. "I didn't think you were the type to snitch," she replied simply, looking down to check her nails. "Maybe I overestimated you," there was clear disappointment in her voice. |
iz okay :3 <3 "Ohhhhhhhhh." Right right, that was going to be Bernie's next guess. She wrinkled her nose some at mention of THAT school, which had tried to expel her FIRST. Rude Headmistress. Rude students. Suddenly it made sense why Nina was the way she was, huh? She had probably fit in great last year. Bernie's mouth popped open a little at Nina's insinuation that she was a snitch! "I didn't think wizards knew what snitching was," she stated coolly. "Don't ya have a quidditch ball that's for snitching?" Har har har. Bernie was really trying to think of something else to say to save face, not that she cared what N i n a C a s t i l l o thought of her anyway. The whole maybe I overestimated you thing was sticking in Bernie's mind though. She sniffed and turned back to her Charms book without another word. Nina probably didn't even have a boyfriend. She was probably just trying to get Bernie all stirred up. This was a dumb argument to have. Pffft. Hypotheticals. |
