Looking for a grand way to spend an afternoon? How's about grabbing a friend and getting lost in the maize maze? The corn is of course put to good use by the elves when they come into season so you are being asked not to damage them but do feel free to run about in the passages trying to find your way to the other side. There's little worry you'll be bored after you've mastered the maze as the paths change every day, making for a new entrance and exit every time.

It's not likely the Groundskeeper will patrol this maze night and day so it is also expected that you behave appropriately. Trust is a dangerous thing to betray and in any case adventuring through a maze beats snogging any day.

To say that Drewett Gunter missed Hogwarts was an understatement. He had liked Beauxbatons in all its aesthetic entirety—dragon issues aside—but it wasn't home. Just the idea of being back at Hogwarts for his seventh year had set the tone for the Ravenclaw as he decided to take a stroll outside the castle. He had considered the grounds a source of stress relief and while he didn't mind the need to clean up in the castle, Drewett figured he could use a moment or two wherein he didn't sneeze his nasal cavity out.

He had his hands tucked inside his pocket as he went through his usual route, or at least what he could remember. Drewett had a usual route at Beauxbatons last term, and he quietly wondered if things had changed since the mist left the school. He wondered if the maize maze had changed its route too, eyeing the entrance curiously. It reminded him of the time he and Kenzie beat the Beauxbatons maze. Quite a fond memory.

Cordelia enjoyed spending time outside. She was out for her usual run around the school grounds to clear her head. There were, surprisingly enough, quite a lot of thoughts running through Cordelia’s mind at this particular moment. As of late she had been suspecting that no one liked her and that everyone hated her. It was something she had felt frequently throughout her life, but that didn’t make it any easier. Ugh, she hated this feeling. She hated that it made her hate herself, thinking that no one would ever love her. Perhaps it was fate then that the person she happened to run into as she drew near to the entrance of the maze was one of the few people who she trusted. ”Drew.” Even Drew had left her but unlike others in her life, he hadn’t completely abandoned her. Her thoughts were too many, too much, too mixed up to say anything more than his name but she was sure he would understand more than anyone.

If anyone had asked a younger Drewett if he'd ever see himself going through the maize maze, he would have stared back with wide eyes in horror and shake his head profusely. But now? Certainly, changes have happened. He had friends who helped him ease far beyond his comfort zone. He had a girlfriend who has been nothing but patient and good to him. He had a family that wanted him too. So many things have changed, a lot of which he didn't see coming.

Drewett's train of thought was cut short when he heard his name, and he turned his head to the side and smiled because he recognised the voice. "Hi, Dia," he said. "Lovely day outside, don't you think?" The seventh year noted that she didn't look too good, but he wasn't about to force her to spill. He figured she'd tell him when she was comfortable enough to share what was bothering her.
