| | |  Hufflepuff Table
 For those who belong in Hufflepuff House, in the middle of the Great Hall is where your table awaits. Gold banners containing an embroidered black badger float above the polished table in honour of the loyal Helga Hufflepuff. Already placed on the tables are silver plates with accompanying cutlery and goblets. All that is missing right now are the mountains of food and pitchers containing your favourite beverages.
Though your stomach might be growling as you take a seat on one of the long benches next to the table, it is important to not get hangry -- gnawing your arm away or jabbing your fork repeatedly on the surface of the table will do no good whatsoever. Give everyone some time to get settled in and wait for Headmaster Trent to deliver his speech. Keep yourself preoccupied by catching up with your fellow housemates or those who are visiting from the other tables until it is time to sink your teeth into the hearty and delicious meal prepared by the house-elves.

Orion wasn’t looking forward to the feast, seeing as his summer was still very much up in the air. He didn’t do well with uncertainty.. and the amount he was experiencing right now was almost overwhelming..
Hopefully though he’d be able to focus on tonight and nothing else. He slid into the table, his hands in his black hoodie, holding onto the material tightly as he took a breath and looked around.
Part of him was hoping to see a few people, the other part was hoping he could pass the night in obscurity. Quiet.. to eat and leave.. |

Sebastian was ready for this term to be over. For the most part he had been keeping to himself all term. He really hadn't been himself since...well that was something he didn't want to think about.
The happy-go-lucky boy was no longer. Now, he had a quick temper. Maybe it was partly because of Icylyn not coming back next term, but...it was mostly because of Kam. It would always be that way for him. Coming back here this term after being in France last term was more difficult than he thought it would be, which was why he kept to himself a lot this term. He saw Kam everywhere he went here, and getting close to anyone like that right now was more difficult than he thought it would be.
Sebastian made his way over to the Puff table, glad it was their last night of term so he could get a break from the constant reminders of his dead best friend. "Orion," He said quietly to the most UNHufflepuff like Hufflepuff he had ever met, before sitting across from the quiet boy.

Orion’s wish for quiet wasn’t going to happen tonight, but at leas the person who sat across from him wasn’t going to be loud. He felt for the other boy.. losing a best friend was hard..
Losing her the way he had.. was terrible.
Even though his life was a mess.. he was trying to practice looking outside himself.. he was trying to be a human..like a close friend of his had reminded him to do.

Sebastian sighed into a small smile. "I get to go home for a couple months and get out of this place...I'm okay." He shrugged. He couldn't wait for the annual trip he was now accustomed to with his dad and step-dad. Being with them always helped him to feel better about things. Of course his mom and half siblings helped too...but there was a lot of noise being home with them.
"How are you? Any plans for summer?" He asked the other boy with a grin. It wasn't his old mischievously fun grin, but it was a grin at least.

Of course.. Orion forgot that people would be talking of summer and going home and things like that.. and of course that was the one subject he didn’t really want to mention at the moment.. but he did what he always did. Pretended that everything was okay.

It was fine. This was fineeee. Sebastian noticed the slight change in Orion's demeanor as the topic of summer break was brought up. But as quickly as it was there it was gone again. He wouldn't pry...but it made him wonder exactly what Orion was dealing with at home.
"Definitely. Especially with all the reminders...," Sebastian said looking down at his hands before a small smile that didn't reach his eyes emerged. He looked back up at the other boys question. "Yeah...the last couple years my dad and step-dad have taken me on trips around Europe to see all the things, and to teach me about the magical creature populations in those countries. Having a former CoMC Prof and Magizoologist for a father is really beneficial when you plan to go into the same field." He said, this time with a real smile.

It was a lesson he had recently learned.. in a way that had almost cost him everything. Thankfully though.. he had been given another chance.
A chance he wasn’t going to waste.
And even though the sunshine would never be his.. he was content to bask in it, and to reflect it back to people as best as he could.
“Oh? Well that’s sounds like it’s very fun and educational. ” He wondered what it was like having two Professors as Fathers.. but if one of them was in the profession you wanted to be in.. perhaps it was good. “A Magiczoooligist hmm? That sounds like an interesting field. ” He said as he watched a real smile come over the boys face.
Orion looked at him as he spoke and he felt his soft heart get even softer. Hufflepuffs.. despite their rap.. were amazing people. And he was proud to be one.. just no one tell anyone that yeah?

He said with a chuckle. "We are going to travel around Africa this year to see Erumpents, Nundu, Fwoopers, and a bunch of other creatures. My dad wants me to see them in their natural habitat and not just at sanctuaries and Zoos." Not to mention that his dad's Phoenix would be coming with them. It would be cool to see Ash in his real home.
"Magizoology, if you are into taking care of and studying creatures, can be really amazing and fulfilling." He said with a grin. Though...he knew he couldn't talk about this for long because a lot of people didn't want to hear about it. "Any idea about what you want to do after you graduate?" Everyone had a plan...didn't they?
It was nice to see Orion smile. It didn't happen often, so he felt like he made a huge accomplishment just now. He grinned back, "Of course. Anytime. I mean it." He gave the kid a wink. It seemed like he might need a place to go to and just get away for awhile.

He felt like he’d be better hiding some sort of “precious” away in the dark, then being out and interacting with people. But.. the more he got to know people.

He was actually really easy to talk to. And Sebastian might have needed the distraction of new friends more than he realized.
A light bulb flickered to life behind his eyes. It seemed like Orion didn't really want to go home so..., "Eh...as long as you have a strong silencing spell...Fwoopers are easy." He said with an easy grin, "Hey...would you want to come with us? My dads wouldn't mind I'm sure. They are always telling me to invite a friend anytime I want." He paused, "Would you be interested?" He wasn't sure if this was helping or not, but...everyone needed an opportunity to see the world, didn't they?
Sebastian grinned at that response. Magizoology could be super dangerous too, so it was good that they had his dad around to make sure they were handling things properly.
He nodded, impressed with Orion's career choices. "Both very cool options, and you still have plenty of time to decide for sure." He said with a grin.
"You're welcome, Orion." He said with small nod.
