Much like on the Hogwarts Express, there are sitting areas within the Beauxbatons carriages. There are several lined along the corridors, feel free to come in and take a seat. The couches on either side of the small cubicle wall can sit up to six students comfortably. Any more might be a bit of uncomfortable squeeze unless you don't mind the floor....but....don't....don't sit on the floor. It's improper to say the least and after an entire ride, you're like to find your legs cramping terribly.

Have a chat about the coming term, the summer you've lost, whatever you'd like. It'll be a long flight to your destination, enjoy it in style and comfort. When you grow tired of this small room, take a stroll down to the lounge. There's sure to be something to keep you occupied.

Ready to not be sharing a room with half the school? Grab one of these before they fill up.

Benji sighed as he settled into a carriage. This was not how he pictured the start of his sixth year going. A carriage instead of the train? And... Going to Beauxbatons instead of Hogwarts? Yeah, definitely not what he had pictured. Maybe it was for the better. A fresh start. Or something. Last year had definitely not been his favorite year. Looooots of isolationist tendencies and studying and, y'know, scary mist and all that. Maybe this one would be better... Anyway, he settled into the cushy seat with his orange cat, Charlie, draped across his lap. He absentmindedly scratched the cat's head while he stared out the window. Would anyone be joining him in the back here? He'd beaten most people on board.

Iclyn was a mess..

Inwardly at least.

She had just left her older sister on the platform, for the first time in Hogwarts life, her family wasn’t going to be together. Kalista had to stay and work and take her NEWTS some other time. It hurt so badly that she hadn’t been able to help enough for her sister to come to school with her and Zach..

Even though she had ended up getting a job as a bookstore, and worked as much as she could.. it still wasn’t enough.

Zach was crying, but Iclyn knew she couldn’t right now. Not in front of him. So as soon as he found some of his friends, she slipped off into an empty cubicle barely noticing if anyone else was around.. and curled up on a couch.

Everything hurt.. everything sucked.. and she really didn’t want to be here.

And a few tears dripped down her cheeks, much to her chagrin.

Merlin.

She angrily wiped away the tears and kept herself curled up.

Sebastian had made his way through the carriage, he was looking for a very specific pretty girl which was hard to do because this thing was huge! He wondered if it was as big as the Hogwarts Express...or maybe even a little bigger. And it was so...fancy. For some reason he felt really under-dressed in his jeans and t-shirt. He wasn't sure if he liked the carriage or not. He felt like it was judging his fashion choices.

Eventually, Sebastian had found himself in the back seating area...catching a glimpse of a blonde head that looked familiar. As he made his way closer, he knew it was Iclyn, though she looked very upset. A worried frown passed over his lips as he approached.

"Hey...you okay?" He asked quietly, hoping he didn't startle her.

Iclyn closed her eyes as she heard a familiar voice, one she had wanted to hear for awhile if she was honest. She had been thinking about him almost non stop since had seen him!

But she was supposed to be all smiles and happy when she finally did.. not curled up in a corner.. crying like a baby.

“Bastian.” Her voice was soft as she hurriedly cleared her eyes of any moisture and turned to look at him.

“I had to say goodbye to Kali.” She said as she made a helpless little gesture and bit her lip in order to not cry any more. She hated crying.. she felt so weak.

Iclyn wished she wasn’t crying now, especially not in front of Bastian, but her emotions wouldn’t be stopped and she felt the tears roll out of her eyes and down onto her cheeks as he pulled her towards him.

“It’s.. awful.” She managed to get out as and she looked up at him and felt her heart do a strange thudding things as he caught her tear and wiped it away.

Oh Merlin.. the sparkles were back.

She nodded as he spoke and she looked up at him as she caught his last soft word, the way he said it made her heart flip and she touched his hand gently.

“I will have you.” She said softly as she looked up at him, “Thank you Bastian, I’m sorry to cry all over you, what a welcome hmm?” She said with a soft watery laugh.

Cole left the front carriage that he shared with Claudine to go buy some food for himself. His faithful white and black cat; Rafe walked beside him. He honestly didn’t need something to eat since he had food, but he was restless and he didn’t know what else to do to not get emotional. The closer they got to Beauxbatons, the closer he got to his dead mum’s school. It’d be weird to go there and wonder if he had sat in the same seats as her. It wasn’t like Cole didn’t have enough teen worries as it was to add on this too. After buying a load of cauldron cakes that his sister hadn’t wanted to share when he checked in on her Cole was left to wander the back seating area. Spotting a boy sitting by himself in a cubicle, he knocked before he pushed open the door and looked inside. "Hi, can i join you?" Now noticing the cat draped on the other boy’s lap, he worriedly looked down at his own cat. This could get interesting….

This place was something!

Cecelia couldn't get over how fancy and big and museum-like everything was. It reminded her of when she was REAL small and Grandpa Bishop would take them to the museum, reminding Cecelia the WHOLE time not to touch things 'cause they were delicate and might break. Cece wondered what would happen if she accidentally broke something now. The very LAST thing she needed in the whole world was to get kicked outta school before she even arrived.

Playing it safe, the blonde found herself a comfy seat and sat on her hands for a while. When that got boring, she took to braiding, un-braiding, and re-braiding a strand of her golden hair as she waited for their long, long, LONG journey to end.

...How long WOULD this journey take, anyway?

Good thing mum packed so many snacks. She was good like that.

A voice startled Benji to attention. "Oh. Yeah. Sure," he said, gesturing vaguely to the seat. He resumed looking out the window for a moment while Charlie curiously eyed the ~~new friend???~~ other cat. He didn't move much beyond lazily lifting his head up to get a better view, but make no mistake, he was checking this situation out. Deciding -- perhaps erroneously, only time would tell -- that there was no threat to be had, he began licking his paws and cleaning the top of his head where Benji had been scratching him. Human cooties.

After a moment, Benji reprimanded himself for being rude and turned away from the window. "I'm Benji," he said. "Sixth year. How about you?" Why did it sound gloomy? He wasn't trying to be gloomy. He was trying to be friendly. Well, maybe not friendly. Polite was the better word. But still. Not gloomy. "Bit weird heading somewhere that's not Hogwarts, yeah?"

Having a moment to talk up and down the corridor of the Carriage, Abra got to see many things. Mostly seeing people who had obviously already met each other reacquaint themselves. Abda didn't know anyone, though, and she didn't have anyone to reacquaint with. Unless she spotted someone she'd met over the summer, but she wasn't even sure she'd remember them.

Her eyes passed over someone who was braiding their hair, and Abra stopped. That looked very talented. Abra hadn't been able to replicate her mother's talented hair skills, and her auntie was no good at doing other people's hair. That meant Abra had her naturally curly hair down, spread over her shoulders. "H-hello," Abra said, poking her head through the doorway. "Um. How do you do that?" she asked.

Walking in cautiously with the other cat in mind Cole took the seat opposite the other boy and signalled for Rafe to sit in his lap. Cole wondered silently if he on this carriage ride was cursed to meet only student’s that didn’t want to converse. Stroking Rafe on the head between the ears like he liked he was slightly startled when the other boy suddenly decided to talk to him.

Patting the cauldron cakes in his jeans pocket Cole smiled a little in return. "It's nice to meet you Benji, I'm Cole. I'm in fourth year." Pulling out the cauldron cakes and placing them on the couch beside him he asked with hand gesture to them. "Do you like cauldron cakes Benji? Want to share so with me? I think i bought too many from the snack machine."

Nodding Cole agreed wholeheartedly. "Yes it's super weird to go to Beauxbatons and not Hogwarts. Do you think they’ll sort us into new houses? I heard that Beauxbatons only has three houses not four like Hogwarts." It’d not be fun if they had to sleep with the slytherins for a whole year.

After getting her snacks, Tina made a beeline for the nearest empty cubicle and plopped down on the couch, setting her back beside her. As soon as she was situated, she unlatched the door of Nem's cat carrier. The black cat bounded out the moment the door opened and curled up on the couch beside her. "Good to be back, right, Nem?" she said with a small smile, and the cat made a sound halfway between a meow and a purr in reply.

Tina stared aimlessly out the carriage window. This was certainly not how she envisioned her return to Beauxbatons! She'd always imagined the powers that be realizing she really wasn't responsible for that prank Cassius Rosier pulled and welcoming her back to Beauxbatons with open arms... but that didn't happen. The only reason she was going back was because Hogwarts was uninhabitable. She was still a Hogwarts student and therefore still under Malachi Trent's authority, a fact that didn't sit well with her... especially after the events of last term. She hadn't wanted to come back - something that both of her father figures supported - but she had to. She absentmindedly twirled the purple butterfly bracelet on her wrist... seven butterfly beads, one for each term he sacrificed to that school. Once she left Hogwarts, that would be one less person to remember him, and she would not let his legacy die! She couldn't walk away now. The papillon (translation: butterfly) would fly for one final term.

Suddenly inspired, Tina pulled her sketch pad and pencils out of her bag and began to draw.

After leaving her luggage, Nora just picked the nearest seating area available. She felt she was sweating, but at the same time felt cold. It was the nervousness. Who would've thought they'd be all going to another school and be guests, for a whole term...after so much terror yet incognita, seemed like the best option.
Maybe she'd find Raven later, or maybe he'd be in other seating area with his sisters, which was also alright. Meanwhile, she'd be there, writing notes on her travel diary about the carriages and what she expected from this new term.

Looks up as soon as she sees her now Co-Author, giving her a smile, but still looking at her and trying to answer all her questions, mostly after coming one after the other. "Uh. I'm...yeah, writing about that, the decoration...and might do a small sketch, but I'm terrible at drawing. Maybe you could do that?" That's a very important job to do.

And with that, she passed on her notepad to Carysn, for her to objectively make remarks and recommendations if needed.

Sebastian didn't understand what it was like to have siblings close in age to him. His younger brother and sister were very young, so he was sure it had to be difficult for Iclyn, especially after all they had been through, to be away from her sister for the first time in a very long time.

"I'm sure." He said gently, with a small smile. He looked down as she touched his hand, and he held hers. It was as natural as it was at Flourish and Blotts. He gave her hand a gentle squeeze.

At those words he peeked over at her through his curtain of messy brown hair and grinned. "I would much rather have you cry on me than cry alone, Icy. Don't ever hide your emotions from me." He gave her a little peck on the forehead and instantly blushed. He had only ever done that to Kam...and it was such a natural action he didn't feel awkward. A little nervous about it maybe...but not awkward.

She threaded her fingers though his almost automatically, letting the warmth of his hand soothe her tired, sad soul. That was all she wanted, all she needed. Someone she didn’t have to hide from, someone she didn’t have to be strong for, someone she could be herself around..

Sebastian had a slight bout of panic when he suddenly came to realize how close they were to each other at the moment. They weren't together, he had never had a significant other because he had always had Kam and hadn't even thought about it, and suddenly there was this beautiful person that wasn't Kam...holding his hand...and looking at him like he was everything.

But he couldn't let that anxiety peek through yet. Icyln knew him and they were good friends but he hadn't really let her see his anxiety problems. Kam always helped him hide them. So...he was going to do his best to hide them today.

All of this rushed through his mind, but not through his face. He kept a small serene smile on his lips and gentle eyes. He wanted her to feel comfortable with him. "Good." He said, his smile widening. He didn't want her to see how scared he was to be this close to a girl that wasn't Kam.

She was thanking him? "Whatever for?" He asked leaning back into the seat, his arm still wrapped around her shoulders and hand in hers. He needed to be more casual and...he needed to have a little more space because the anxiety was welling up faster than he expected it too.

He liked her a lot more than he realized...

All of this rushed through his mind, but not through his face. He kept a small serene smile on his lips and gentle eyes. He wanted her to feel comfortable with him. "Good." He said, his smile widening. He didn't want her to see how scared he was to be this close to a girl that wasn't Kam.

She was thanking him? "Whatever for?" He asked leaning back into the seat, his arm still wrapped around her shoulders and hand in hers. He needed to be more casual and...he needed to have a little more space because the anxiety was welling up faster than he expected it too.

He liked her a lot more than he realized...

Iclyn bit her lip a little as Bastian seemed to realize where they were and pulled back slightly. Oops, she was to busy with her emotional breakdowns and her heart eyes to realize exactly where they were. Thankfully her fellow Hufflepuff had some sense and pulled back and leaned onto the couch.

She too untangled herself from him and took up her former spot in the comer, but facing him this time. One leg curled under her, the other one she brought up and wrapped her arm around as she looked at him. Her blue grey eyes on his face for a moment, their gaze almost loving before they shuttered quickly and dropped to her knee.

“Oh, I’m just being silly. It’s a thank you for being my friend.” She said softly as she looked up at him briefly, she couldn’t make eye contact too long, due to the sparkles that would appear over his brown head!

Despite her promise just seconds ago to not hide her emotions from him, she knew she would have to hide how she felt. It wasn’t a big deal. She was used to secrets, what was one more?

“How are you feeling going to school? ” She asked him softly.

Sebastian could tell that she had thrown that wall back up just as quickly as it had come down, but maybe for now it was best that it had. As he watched her shift around to look at him, he realized he was having feelings far to quickly and it was slightly freaking him out. If this was going to be something...he wanted to do it right, and his headspace just wasn't quite there yet.

Plus he was just genuinely really scared about whatever this was brewing between them. He had to figure it out before he pursued anything with her. That comment brought him back to the conversation and he grinned, giving her knee a little nudge. "Thank you for being mine." His said as his grin turned into a smile. Did she know how pretty she was?

He shook his head and looked down at that next question, a slight sadness seeping into him. "It's weird going to school without Kam. She's always been here...but at least I won't be reminded of her at every turn at Beauxbatons." He said with a strained smile when he looked back up at her. "Though I am looking forward to the food...I hear they have some really great cheese." He said a chuckle escape him on that last word.

Once she left Hogwarts, that would be one less person to remember him, and she would not let his legacy die! She couldn't walk away now. The papillon (translation: butterfly) would fly for one final term.

Suddenly inspired, Tina pulled her sketch pad and pencils out of her bag and began to draw.

Ilya was noisily making his way down the corridor, his owl in her cage looking like she was mustering every bit of patience as her owner rocked her from side to side with his clumsy walking. He was taking a look inside the back seating area when he saw a lovely black cat... with a pretty girl sitting next to it drawing. He confidently made his way towards both of them. He liked pretty girls, they were nice to make friends with.

"Hello." He grinned and took a seat nearby, making sure not to crowd the artist. "What are you drawing? I'm Ilya, I hope it's okay I sat here, my owl is nice and quiet she wouldn't make a sound unless I pet her she doesn't like it, but I will not do it so you're still focused on your sketch. This is my first ride to school, I'm a firstie." He vomitted the series of words, without noticing that he was a liiiittle nervous. He usually didn't get nervous, but this RIDE and the concept that he was going to be sorted soon was just SO exhilarating.

The wall had indeed been thrown back up, and despite their earlier connection, it seemed like something had.. come between them and she wasn’t sure what.

Her earlier feelings of being safe had now fled and she was wondering currently if she should have hid her emotions from him as well. Perhaps he wasn’t okay with her crying? Or with being that close to her? She had felt there for a moment that possibly her feelings weren’t one sided, but now it seemed like they were.

Oh well, it was just another thing to hide from the world.

The knee nudge brought her back to reality and she looked up just in time to see his smile widen.

Oh Merlin.. that wasn’t fair.. cause now the sparkles were back!

“Of course.” She said softly as she gave him a gentle smile.

As he started speaking though, she almost instantly regretted the question, especially as the look on his face. “Hey..” The blonde scooted about an inch towards him just so the tips of her fingers could touch his arm. “I know I’m not Kam, and I never want to be her. But I’m here for you too okay? And as soon as we get there, let’s take that walk along the grounds.” Hopefully that would help ease both of their minds.

Even if her vision of walking hand in hand through romantic rose gardens never happened. She just wanted him to feel better.

“Cheese!” She said with a shake of her head and a soft giggle.

Tina was so focused on her drawing that she didn't pay any attention to the noise coming from the corridors. She'd already sketched the outline of a butterfly's body and wings, and now she'd moved on to drawing an intricate filigree pattern on the wings. It was only when she heard a boy's voice that she looked up from her sketch pad. Wait, what did he say? It took her a second or two to switch gears and process what he was saying - something about sitting and his owl and her drawing. Wow, he was chatty! Not that she minded much... she was fine with people talking a lot as long as the things they had to say were nice.

"Sure, it's fine," she replied, referring both to the Ilya sitting down and the owl. In her two years in the chaotic environment known as Hogwarts, she'd learned to block out distractions (because let's face it, that school was the distraction capital of the wizarding world!) so owl sounds were the least of her concerns. "I'm drawing a butterfly," she said, holding up her sketch pad for him to see. "It probably doesn't look like much now, but wait until it's done!"

It was only then that she realized that she hadn't yet introduced herself. "I'm Tina, by the way; I'm a seventh year," she said. "And this is Nemesis." He nodded toward the long-legged black cat beside her who was now licking a paw, ignoring everything going on. Now what was she supposed to say? She wasn't very good at small talk, but she needed to think of something. Aha, she had it! "What do you think of the ride so far? Do you like the Beauxbatons carriages?"

Taking the notepad, she read it over. "I think it's a great start. Have you visited the snack carriage? I wonder if we need to document its comparison to the snack cart on the Hogwarts Express. Are we doing it as a comparison to Hogwarts? Or just an objective look at Beauxbatons without comparisons?" She kinda like the thought of no comparisons and just standalone. Also, if she hadn't stopped by the snack cart yet, Carsyn had made a brief visit before, so she was well aware of the vending machine style self-service.
