The Entertainment Room This is the sole part of the Castle where Muggle technology can work. Professor Stewart has done her best to incorporate as many fun things in this room as possible for the students and Professors alike to spend their free time. Like the waiting room to her office, these walls are plastered with posters. There are also a few up-to-date computers. Feel free to play games or practice your typing. There are Ipods with earbuds in various colours. Each Ipod is loaded with a particular genre of music inclusive of rock, pop, Spanish, Italian, Bollywood- pretty much whatever type of music there is. They are labeled to specify the music they contain. In the middle of the room sat arcade game machines. If you don’t fancy playing on the machines, there are gaming consoles that can be hooked up to the televisions. There is a wide selection of DVDs if you fancy a movie or TV series. HAVE FUN, KIDDOS! Remember not to take any of the items from this room! Professor Stewart WILL know ;) One more thing: Absolutely NO foods or liquids are allowed in this room! |
Open post After finishing his homework for the day, Dorian decided to spend the rest of the saturday at the entertainment room together with Ammonite his purple toad, who was sleeping on top of his head. He knew the room like the back of his hand and the moment he stepped inside he walked straight for the ipods. As he chose a random one, he put the earbuds in his ear and pressed the play button in the middle of the device. The Ravenclaw jumped in shock and ripped the earbuds out of his ears. It wasn't that the song , which happened to be a rock one, was bad. But some lunatic had been listening to it at the highest volume and had not dimmed it down. Ammonite on top of his head continued to sleep like nothing had happened. In more than one occasion he had wondered if he was even alive or not... He turned the volume down till half and placed the ipod down before he picked up a second one. He plugged the purple earbuds inside it and pressed play without putting the earbuds in his ear. This one didn't sound like it would damage the ears so he checked it before he pressed stop and grabbed the next one. He continued this until he had lowered the volume on every device needed. Someone had to protect peoples eardrums around here! So what now? He looked around and his blue eyes landed on the computer. He took the rock genre ipod with him and sat down on the chair in front of the computer. |

Someone was in the room and he wondered if he should come back. But the guy looked pretty involved with the – whatever it was he was sitting in front of. Sammy stared in his direction for a while before wandering over to one of the square box things that looked like a frame with a weird canvas inside. He started poking buttons at random. To his surprise, the thing started spewing out light and noise. Sammy yipped and jumped back a little. |
Usually, Dorian would immediately be aware of his surroudings but thanks to the ipod earbuds in his ears, it had taken him a few moments to notice that he wasn't alone in the room anymore. He gave the Gryffindor kid a nod before he turned back around to face his screen. He did turn off the ipod but kept the earbuds in because why not? As he was moving the attached mouse to open up the word program because he wanted to practice his typing, he jumped at the yelp that the other kid let out. He looked over his shoulder as he wondered what had happened. Was Hogwarts under attack ....again? But he found nothing dangerous. "What happened?" he asked as he looked at the arcade gaming machine and then back at him with a puzzled look on his face. |

Perhaps coming up here had been bad advice. Pretending confidence, Sammy walked back over to the game and started poking buttons on it. More noises and lights flashed, but this time, Sammy was ready for them and managed to keep his surprise to the weird looks on his face. He wasn’t exactly sure what the purpose of this contraption was, but he kept just pushing buttons at random. |
