Front Cars

If you are eager to see, be seen, and get to London first, then the front passenger cars of the train are for you. Just like the other cars, a long corridor provides access to the many compartments, each labelled with a letter, available for you and your friends to hunker down in until the train has come to a complete stop. Cushioned seats and large windows, allowing perfect views of the British scenery on your journey, await.

Well, what are you waiting for? Slide open a compartment door and make yourself at home. Place any of your belongings not in the luggage car on the racks above you. Chat with your friends about what your summer plans, enjoy munching on the snacks you bought from the trolley lady, get ahead of the game by exchanging addresses, or take a long nap as the train travels over numerous hills and mountainsides. Whatever you do, exhibit your best behaviour -- the prefects will be regularly patrolling the corridors and poking their heads inside your compartment to make sure you are doing so.

For anyone!

The trainnnn. Nettie was so relieved to finally be on the train, which meant that her summer was officially just a few hours away. And thankfully she had at least a week before U-17 started, which meant she would be able to sleep in, do nothing, and unwind from the most stressful term ever.

Finally she found a compartment to herself and immediately pounced on it. She took Rudy out of his kitty basket as she usually did and let him make himself at home on the seat opposite of her as she plopped down next to the window. She sighed happily and pressed her forehead to the cold window, looking out at Hogsmeade as it started to pull away and head to London.

Hmmm. Maybe she'd take a nap. That would be an A+ start to this summer...

Daisy made her way to a compartment at the front of the train and spotted Nettie sitting near the window with her adorable cat sitting opposite her. She quietly opened the door and spoke in a soft voice to the Ravenclaw, "Hey Nettie. Can I sit next to you?"

Nettie looked up and noticed Daisy standing at the door and smiled at her. "Hey Daisy! Yeah, sure, come on in," she told her as she shooed Rudy off of the opposite seat so Daisy could sit down. Hopefully she didn't mind a little cat hair.

"What are your plans for the summer?" she asked her, making conversation.

Daisy smiled and sat down opposite Nettie. "Your cat is so adorable. What's its' name? I think my summer plans are going to be quite boring. I will be finishing at Hogwarts at the end of the next term so I plan to study as much as I can in regards to becoming a Healer. I'd like to do a Healer course at Wizarding University so I plan on getting really good NEWT results."

She paused and smiled. "How about you?"

Nettie smiled at her and reached out a hand to pat Rudy's head. "His name is Rudy, I've had him since my first term," she explained. He was a good cat - he was always there for her, even when things sucked. Which they had a LOT this term. Thankfully Rudy hadn't run off on her and had stuck by her side - and hadn't gotten eaten by a fluffy pink mutant. THAT was a plus as well!

"Oh really? My brother is a healer!" she said with a smile. "He graduated early this term and just got a job at St. Mungos," she told him. She couldn't help but beam with pride over her brother.

"May I give Rudy a scratch behind the ears?" Daisy asked.

When Nettie mentioned her brother, Daisy smiled. "That is so cool! I hope your brother is liking his job at St Mungos. Which department is he working in or is he a trainee Healer?"
