This thread is for IC purposes only. The members of the Ravenclaw Quidditch team will be selected by the Flying Official (potterobsessionist) and the Hogwarts RPG Admin (Zoe) after the completion of this survey.
The following team positions are available: 1 keeper, 1 beater, 3 chasers, 1 seeker, and 3 reserves.

Tad had thought about it and he decided, he was going to have some fun this year. With the amount of exercising he had to do every morning, he wouldn't waste the rest of his energy just sitting around. Taking a school broom that looked to be one of the more durable ones, he marched over to the Pitch. That was when nerves started to creep on him. Would he be okay? Sure he was only a first year but his daddy would be sure to get him a broom of his own if he made the team.. Right?
"Hiii." He chirped. The Captain seemed cool to him like everyone else. Gosh, would he be the only first year trying out? He hugged the broom for some support. Hopefully the times he flew and played would help out.
The day had finally come quidditch tryouts were starting, and to her own surprise the nerves that she had had about the whole captain thing was at ease. For now that was. It was the ideal weather for tryouts too which made it seem like everything was going to be great and the tryouts were going to go good. She hoped. Nah she knew that everything was going to go smoothly today.
She had came down to the pitch about two hours early (Luckily she had managed a time slot that allowed for that) to get some laps in herself and to set up the pitch. She had been working some plans over the summer and was excited to try them out this season. This year they needed a Keeper, a beater, a seeker and all three chasers.
Juni had divided the pitch into four sections, they were going to play a little around the world with each position, after they arrived and do some stretches. Each section was a different position so that everyone had a chance to try each of them. Which she would explain what they would be doing once everyone got there. Pulling the whistle out of her pocket she put the chain around her heck. Now all she had to was to wait on everyone to get there.
Which didn’t take long actually, she had spend the hours before and the time had gone by fast. And now it was time to get the tryouts started as Tad headed in first. ”Hey Tad, glad you decided to come out today.” She really was. Nodding at watching for the others to start showing up. ”If you guys want to start stretching as you arrive. We’ll do some warms up after everyone gets here.” She would repeat this several times as more and more showed up. She started running in place just to keep herself loose.

Hanna was going to do it. She was going to try out! Feeling the need to do something more physical this year, as well as dancing and practicing her singing and acting. Besides, Quidditch was something she loved to watch, and play. She went to the pitch clad in her workout clothing and saw that the Captain was already there. "Hello Tad," Hanna greeted the younger student she'd met at the feast. "Hello Juni, I'm Hanna," she said to the Captain, who she didn't think she'd formally met before.
Hanna started to do a quick little warmup to get her muscles active. Once she felt her heart beating a bit faster, she commenced her stretching, working first on the larger muscle groups.

YAY QUIDDITCH TRYOUTS! Nettie would happily get out of bed early to run laps for THIS. Wearing her Quidditch gear, she made her way to the pitch and was happy to see she was one of the first people to arrive. Carrying her BRAND NEW Nimbus, she smiled at Juni as she approached. "Hey Captain!" she said with a grin.
It was obviously warm up time, so she set her broom aside and joined the group. "Hello! I'm Nettie!" she said to the group - she didn't think she had introduced herself to either of the two who were already there.

Dizzy skipped excitedly into the pitch, her new firebolt slung over her shoulder like a hobo stick. It was the first time this term she'd actually been excited to enter the pitch of eternal running. When she reached the group she came stop with a small hop. Her eager grin stretched so wide, it looked like it might break past the boundaries of her face. A cartoony white rabbit with red eyes and fangs snarled at everyone from where Dizzy had painted it on the handle of her broom over summer. The rabbit, to Dizzy at least, looked adorably sinister.
"I'm here!" Her face lit up, impossibly, more when saw Nettie and Hanna both in the group. Both girls got a cheerful wave. "I'm...er, I go by Dizzy," she said, introducing herself to Juni and Tad. She knew them by name, of course, having heard others address them in the common room, but hadn't actually met either yet.

Septimus made his way down to the quidditch pitch ready for quidditch try-outs. Last term he hadn’t been sure of playing, but after making the team, he found he quite enjoyed it and was looking to hopefully continue playing. One could only guess who would be joining him in the attempt. At least th9is time he was using his own broom rather than the school broom like last time since it hadn’t been planned.
Reaching those already gathered there, he took in both the familiar and unfamiliar faces. “Hey Captain,” he greeted the sixth year whom he had teamed up with last year. “Hi Hanna,” he greeted his fellow third year with a smile. It would be cool if they both made the team. And look…there was Dizzy. “Hey,” he greeted the slightly younger girl.
Mom says I have no sense of direction, so I packed my bags and right.
Mark figured if he was going to get used to being in Ravenclaw and make his father see the Eagles in a different light then he might as well get to know some of them. What better way then by attempting to try out and join the Quidditch team. It was awful he could not be allowed to bring his own broom since he was a first year, but he could get used to the school provided ones.
He marched onto the Quidditch pitch with his head held high. He should firstly show that he is confident in himself and his ability, but to whom? His confident look plastered to his face turned to a quizzical one. Eyeing all those who had already gathered before him to determine who was the most important one here.
He knew right of the bat it wasn't his Dormmate Tad. No way could he be the Captain in his first year like him. So off the list he went
His eyes looked around some more before stopping. OH DUH! It was the oldest looking girl here, but most importantly it was because she was giving instructions to warm up and stretch. "Hi everyone. I'm Mark." He greeted them as though he wasn't already giving them weird intrusive looks a moment ago. He looked back to the Captain. "Could we do a warm up with laps around the pitch?" Their mandatory morning 5 lap jog was still wearing on his legs and figured that was a decent warm up as is. "On our brooms I mean!" He didn't want to get on anyone's bad side with a misinterpretation and bring down the wrath of what could potentially be a Crazy Claw in this group gathered here.
After Tad had arrived more people also started to show up. Now the nervousness of the summer planning was making a return. At least people were showing up. That was something that she had been worried about. What if no one showed up to tryouts. It was a dumb way to feel though as she thought about it more. People would show up, it was quidditch and people were showing up now. Next of which was Hanna. ”Hi Hanna. It’s good to meet you. I’m glad you come out today.”’ Yes. She had seen Hanna around, and since she was a few years younger than her she didn’t know her too well.
Next there was Nettie who played on the team last year. ”Hello Nettie. Is that a new Numbus? Awesome.” Would she ever get use to people calling her Captain? Maybe. It was weird to her still, whenever she heard someone say Captain she still looked around for Kirk. But then she realized that she was the captain. She smiled at the second year Dizzy, who she thought was first year at first since she was new this term. ”Hi Dizzy. I’m Juni, I’m the Captain of the quidditch team.” Still felt weird to say, but she was getting used to it now.
Did she have any advice? She did, actually. Probably too much advice for tryouts. She tried to think of something that Kirk or even Rhea would have told her. She really wanted to make both of the former Ravenclaws proud of her during her captainancy. ”Do your best. Don’t be nervous and no pressure because its just tryouts.” The sixth year was really going to have to work on her motivational speaking.
Checking her time on her watch, she decided to wait just a little longer to the last minute people to arrive then she would get started with some group warm ups and some other stuff. Another former teammate arrived, Septimus . ”Hey Septimus. Good to see you here.” She hoped that most of the team from last year would be together this year but she would just have to wait and see.
The sixth year turned around to the first year boy who introduced himself as Mark. ”Here in a just a little bit.” Once they had stretched more and everything.
Looking around, was this it? She blew her whistle. ”Alright everyone we are going to go ahead and get started if others show up after this it’s fine. For those of you who don’t know me I’m Juniper Primeaux and I’m captain this year. We are going to do some stretching activities together before we jump on our brooms.” She paused to let that sink in and to see if anyone had any questions. No everyone good? Good. ”We’re going to spend a little time stretching out first. I’ll give you guys about five minutes and I’ll blow my whistle again when its time to move on. Let the stretching begin.” She blew her whistle and started out doing a few windmills herself.

Hanna watched as more people rocked up, and the whole vibe of the Eagle team, in sense of a house team, was exciting. "Hello Nettie," Hanna greeted the second year Eagle. "Hey Dizzy!" She wasn't really surprised to see Dizzy here, actually. Nor was she surprised that she had her broom. Hanna had left the broom she usually used at home, because she hadn't been SURE about trying out for Quidditch. But it was easy to send it here if she made the team, so Hanna was planning on using a school broom for today.
And there was a fellow third year! "Hey Septimus," Hanna greeted him with a smile. "What part are you trying for?" She knew vaguely that he was on the team last term, but she didn't know what part he played. She hadn't seen any of the games, as she'd most likely been in the dormitory reading or studying, or in an empty classroom doing her dancing.
Then another first year joined, and Hanna recognised him from the feast. "Hi Mark," she greeted him as he introduced himself. Her mouth was part-way open when he suggested doing some laps. Was he CRAZY? Did they not already do enough laps as it was? But then he cleared it up that he meant laps on the broom. Right. Right, yes, that made more sense. She found her almost-open-mouthed expression change into a grin. That would be fun!
"I am too," Hanna said to Juni. "I do have a broom at home... in case I make the team," she wanted to clear up, seeing others arriving with their own brooms. But also, she didn't want to seem too sure of herself making the team, as she really had no idea how talented her fellow classmates were. Captain Juni was speaking to the group, and Hanna gave her complete attention. Hanna went back to stretching, this time focusing on the smaller stretches. She clasped her hands together and did some wrist rolls one way, then the other. Then balancing expertly on one foot, she rolled her ankle one way then the other, and repeated it on the other side.

"Wouldn't miss for the world!" The Captain sure was nice with him which helped the bit of Tad's nerves relax. "Hi Hanna. Nettie. Dizzy. Septimus." He waved at them too. Before he saw aha, another first year and he was his dorm mate. "Hey Mark" He had moved over to join them all when Juni started with their first set of instructions. Stretching. Oh poo.
Tad knew it was important to stretch even though he found it BORING. He wanted to fly now. But he didn't show any sign of refusal, as he placed the broom down so he could do some stretching by hunching over to touch his toes... without bending the knees.

Chloe was bouncing like a first year (ironic, considering she was among the oldest trying out) as she shoved her broom toward Juni. New broom. Her own broom. "LOOK, Juju. My parents bought me a broom and I no longer have to use a school one. Fancy, right? And it's so fast. So this... means... probably you should put me on the team. I didn't absolutely suck last term, you remember?"
Not that she expected special treatment from her best friend, the CAPTAIN, but it was super fun to try out with someone who wasn't terrifying. Like Kirk had been. But anyway! Chloe winked broadly at her friend before hustling over to start her stretches. She settled her broom in the grass carefully before reaching for her toes.
Juniper nodded forward Hanna, ”Excellment.” She said with a smile. It was probably a good idea to leave her broom at home. She probably would have done that too if she had thought about it. Juni was way too attached to her broom to leave it at home. But to each their own. Speaking of brooms, Did Chloe Kettleburn have a new broom? She beamed at her best friend. ”That’s amazing. It’s a great broom.” She chuckled, of course she wouldn’t give her friends special treatment. But Chloe had done amazing playing last term. ”Yes. I do you were awesome last year.” Nodding and grinning at her.
More stretching, and maybe the last few last minute stragglers before getting into the fun stuff Flying. Which she knew everyone was excited about that part of flying, she was too. She walked around giving them time to stretch out just a little longer.

”Alright guys times up. Now we’re going to get to fun part of tryouts. Everyone get on your brooms, and let’s start some laps. Do about five laps around the pitch, after that just hoover and I’ll explain what we are doing for the rest of the tryouts.” Juni hopped on her own broom and flew up in the air. Once she was at a good level where she could see everything she blew her whistle once again signaling the others to start doing the laps.

Chloe was there and she had been the entire time. She was just a lot quieter then she was last year. She had done her warmup and got all stretched and ready as everyone spoke to each other. When Juniper started talking Chloe looked at her a little starry-eyed. She was a super pretty captain.
When someone said they had a broom at home Chloe couldn't help but look at her own broom. She was so excited to get to bring it this term. No more first-year problems and now she didn't have to ride those horrible school brooms.
Soon it was time to get on the brooms and Chloe did just that. Zooming around quickly she watched Teddy as he went. His daddy being a quidditch start this should be easy for him. Lowering her head she paid attention to only what she was doing as she made her laps.

Without her own broom, Hanna relied on trying out on one of the school brooms. She had picked out one of the latest models, and given it a quick look over to make sure it was in its finest condition which, of course, it was. She flicked a leg over and kicked off the ground, rising into the air.
SOARING more like.
She resisted the urge to make some sort of excited noise, owing to the fact it was a serious situation. She wasn't silly for tryouts. She spent a moment warming up to the broom, first going forward, speeding up, swerving left and right, pulling the handle up to rise, and dropping it to dive; pulling up with plenty of room safe. Once she felt like she and the broom had some sort of connection, it was time to do her five laps.
She started the first one at a comfortable speed, and once she'd completed the first circle, she sped up a little. Imagining a quaffle that she wanted to grab hold of. Off she went, stretching her arm out to bring it in against the crook of her elbow. An imaginary one, of course. That let her get the feel of a one handed lap, which didn't feel too weird. A few more speedy laps, and she tried to picture herself spotting the Golden Snitch and speeding towards it.

What spot was he going for? Septimus wasn’t all to picky though he supposed the position he had been chosen for last time. “Chaser I think,” he answered Hanna though he wouldn’t turn down a chance to try a year in another spot. Though not so much a seeker since the Ravenclaw didn’t think he had the nerve to have so much riding on him and his skills.
Septimus merely nodded in acknowledgement of Juniper’s comment as she had moved onto the latest arrival before gathering their attention to begin. Time to warm-up and focus on the matter at hand. Setting his broom carefully down on the ground, the third year went through a few moves and stretches. A little to right…a little to the left…and back and fourth. Some twisting around his waist and raising his arms.
It wasn’t long before they were moving on. Laps. Around the quidditch pitch. But thankfully on a broom instead of running on the ground like mandatory exercises in the morning. He wondered if he’d feel it more after practice days since it would be double the work or his body would better tolerate the exercise. Septimus hoped it would be the latter so he didn’t hurt as much. One could only hope as he settled on his broom and took off down the one side of the pitch. His movements becoming more steady as he continued around the end and came back down the other long side.

After Tad finished up some stretching Juni told them it was time to fly. Now this was the big moment. He picked up his broom and assumed the position to start flying. It felt nice soaring up from the ground, he nearly forgotten his nerves. He was happy to not have gone crashing down already, he waved over at Chloe who looked away after. Maybe she wanted to focus, that was okay so he decided to do that too.
Five laps. Tad started out slow to make sure he was in a comfortable position. He was a bit shaky with the turns until halfway through the second lap his flying smoothed out as if he flew in his sleep... Which technically was true from his more recent dreams. Anyways, Tad started to hold one hand out as if practicing for the snitch, at first his broom dipped from the sudden change but he recovered his usual level after a moment. This was it. He was really flying. The remaining five laps were looking to be a snap for him.
Mom says I have no sense of direction, so I packed my bags and right.
Okay seems stretching was what he would have to do even though the morning 5 lap jog pretty much loosened him up for the day. What was the harm in some more he supposed? He flopped onto the ground and stretched his arms out to try and reach his toes.
He completed a few more stretches when he heard the whistle blow from Juniper and stood up. Intently listening as she finally said they could do 5 laps on their broom. He looked down to the School Broom he was using. The one he had always used at home he could call up to his hands with ease, but this was a different one. Would it react differently to his command? "Up" He chirped and the broom flew into his palm no issue. Brilliant.
He mounted the broom and started his lap. Flying by Chloe M. who he just now noticed was here as well, and waved at her. He also kept a few feet behind Tad during his laps. Figuring it would be a good idea to try and control his speed and position rather than attempting to pass everyone he saw in the sky.
He finished his Laps and pulled his broom to a stop and made sure to stay balanced on his broom as he hovered and waited for the Captain's next game plan.

"It IS a new Nimbus!" Trinetta said in excitement to Juni's question. And with that...tryouts had started! She felt herself getting the usual nerves, except they were more excitement nerves than actual NERVOUS nerves. After stretching was done, it was time to get down to the nitty gritty - time for LAPS!
As she rose into the air, she noticed Chloe hovering nearby. Her dorm mate had been so quiet, she hadn't even realized she had been there! She smiled at her, knowing she'd had a rough couple of...months, honestly, and hovered closer to her. "Nice broom!" she told her. They were going to be UNSTOPPABLE this term now that the first years were all able to bring their own stuff. Hehe.
Once they were given the ok to go, she took off. Her Nimbus was certainly a LOT faster than those terrible school brooms, and she had to admit - she was going to show off a bit. She sped through her first lap, a huge grin plastered on her face. For the first time since term started, she finally felt FANTASTIC, and all that nonsense with the new Headmaster just didn't matter in the air.

Juni was so proud of everyone so far. Everyone was doing so good. Of course it was just flying laps, which was a heck of a lot better than running laps. She nodded at Nettie "Great. You'll be even better than last term." She was glad that the second years got bring their on brooms this year, it was important to play with a familiar broom. The sixth year also flew around with the others. She wouldn’t ask them to do something that she herself wouldn’t do. Though she did keep an eye out on everyone as she made her laps.
She had finished her own five laps and assumed that most of everyone else had completed them or at least close. She stopped for a moment and hovered looking around. Yep it was time. She wanted to make sure everyone had a chance to do try out for every position before tryouts were over for the day.

”Okay guys if you haven’t finished your laps and you want to go ahead and finish them. Now this year we are looking for another beater, keeper, seeker and three chasers. This term I’ve got each position as a station marked off on the pitch, however you can use the entire pitch while you are at each station. I want you start out at your prefered position, then rotate around. I’d prefer you all to tryout each position but it’s up to you. I’ll blow my whistle when it’s time to rotate. All the balls are practice balls so they won’t hurt if you get hit by them. The Keeper and Chaser stations are on either end if you did chaser at the first station to keeper at the other and vise versa or you try for the same position at both stations.” She would prefer them to try each but to each there own. She took a deep breath after that long explanation. Did she get everything in? She hoped she didn’t forget anything that she needed to mention.
Nodding again ”Alright everyone to your stations. Let’s go!”

Chloe grinned broadly at the acknowledgement of her fabulous new broom from her fabulous new captain. She scooped up her broom with both hands and hopped onto it, leaning forward and taking to the sky even as she settled into her seat. It was nice to have the younger students out here, all that youthful energy and enthusiasm, but it meant that Chloe had to work extra hard to earn a spot this year. Some of them had natural talent.
She whooped loudly as she took the first turn around the hoops at the far end of the field. Flying was fun. More fun on the back of a winged horse, but broomstick flying was loads of fun too.
Once finished with her laps, and just in time to hear the whistle, Chloe headed toward the chaser station. Might as well show her colors here, just in case she ran out of time later. Scooping up a practice quaffle, Chloe lifted high in the air, watching for someone to join the drill and catch her pass.

Landing to hear the captain better her head snapped up as she stated she was looking for a seeker. Did that mean she truly felt that she couldn't be good at the job and was bad last term?

Chloe tried to get it out of her head. Juni was just trying to see what she had. Maybe someone knew would be better, maybe someone new would be faster, maybe someone new would TAKE HER SPOT! Chloe couldn't help but breath faster as her nerves shot up to the max level they could be.
Her hands shaking a bit as she got on her broom and headed for the station. She watched and watched as she flew around. She had to catch all the snitches and fly well. She had to prove herself. She would not get out beaten. She was the seeker, she knew she was.

Mark kept his school broom steady as he listened to the instructions for each Station. He could choose either end of the pitch for the Keeper Station. He wanted to give it his all in that spot, to show that his height wasn't going to be a factor against him and he could Keep with the best of them.
He noticed the other Older Girl, the other Chloe (The one who wasn't his childhood friend), who was friendly with the Captain, fly to one end of the Pitch. So he followed behind her. No...wait. Was she trying for the Keeper position too? Maybe he should have flown to the other end of the pitch. He didn't want to wait. She was older so she probably has more experience! Then he shot past her slowly as she looked to be trying out for the Chaser spot instead. Oh Good. That's a relief.
If Mark can show his stuff against an Older Student trying out for Chaser he was a shoe in for sure. He took a position at the center ring and hovered in place. He figured maybe next he'll try for Chaser since he was right here though he wasn't too keen on it. His second most desired position was Seeker so once he was done here with Keeper and having tried Chaser he'll head over there.

Hanna was keen on the Seeker position, but as she went to fly towards that station she saw Chloe already there. And rather than try and compete against her own housemate, even if that was the aim there, she moved on to the beater station.
Taking a bat in her hand, she found the comfortable spot as she grasped it. Now, where were those dirty big Bludgers? She spotted one as it was flying towards one of her classmates, and put her chest to the broom, quickening her flying speed. Getting her arm ready, and taking a quick look of all her other Ravenclaw fliers, she WHACKED her bat, making contact with the ball, and watched as it zoomed off.

After Tad finished up his laps, he swerved over toward the others to hear their next bit of instructions. Okay, so now he had to choose a position. He had been thinking about it, he didn't feel right with Keeper and his dad had been a great Beater and Chaser from what his mum always said. He wanted to be different, even his grandpa played as Chaser. He would be the third generation Chaser, a real tradition. But... he felt himself drawn to try out as Seeker. Chasers were similar to them, and if he failed as a Seeker, then Chaser would be the next bet. Right? Right.
Tad then flew over to the Seeker side, he smiled at Chloe before inching himself close to the Chaser but still mostly on the Seeker portion side. No hard feelings? After mouthing a 'Good luck' to her, he had to find out his chances against another person and this was going to be it from the looks of it.
