Rylee was on a mission. Not one of her normal everyday missions though. This was a different sort of mission. One of knowledge. Knowledge of a higher kind and not from some book either. The kind that came from one plant lover to another. She needed information. A lot of it. Well okay... technically she had information. Quite a bit really... however she wanted more. She wanted to know her professor would think, what he would say, would he even agree to answer her questions or think it childish and tell her she was harming the plants? Which was never her intention at all... hence why she was coming to speak with him.

She was good in Herbology, curious and thoughtful. Attentive for sure and paid attention as much as she could for as long as possible. Most of the time she knew what she was doing and well if she didn't she was at least smart enough to say so. If Professor Myers knew just how much she loved plants though, Rylee wasn't entirely sure but the man was about to find out once he spoke with her.

Finally reaching his office she lifted her small fist and tapped her knuckles against the door twice before stepping back. Now to wait.

Knockity-knock knoccccckkk! Paul had a charm that would alert him whenever someone knocked on his meeting space's door. He didn't mind visitors, especially not student visitors! He quickly got up from his desk and made his way to his meeting room. He opened the door with a flourish and smiled when he saw it was little Rylee. Not a first year! He kept calling her one in his head, but no! She was a second year this term!

He gestured her inside. "It's nice to see you m'dear!" he said cheerfully. "I loooove visitors! Come inside and get cozy! Comfy!"

Rylee was still small in size, yes but she was indeed a second year this term! Her brother was the firstie this term though!

"Hello, Professor Myers. I hope you're not to busy today. I was hoping I could get a chance to speak with you about a few things?" she asked stepping inside his meeting room her blue eyes going wide with glee as she looked around, spinning in a small circle. "Whoa! This is so cool! This has got to be the coolest office ever, professor!" Sorry other professors but honestly lookit all the fish!

The little Gryffindor found herself a large bean bag chair to sit down in and got comfortable, picking up a purple plush pillow which she set on her lap to hug. It helped her relax and kept her focused on what it was she wanted to talk about.

Paul was never too busy to meet with students, especially if they wanted to talk about plants and Herbology and whatnot. Little Rylee was so adorable! But weren't all the first and second years?

He hadn't changed his office from last term from both laziness and also from just loving the scenery. It was so calming to just come in here and relax, honestly. He smiled as he took a seat on the ground near her and watched some fish gently float by almost lazily in fashion. "So..what did you come here today to talk about? Plants, I hope." he winked. She wasn't in Hufflepuff so...he supposed it would most likely be about plants.

A couple of moments may have been lost on Rylee while she was looking at the fish floating by. Would it be possible for her to stay in here for awhile and just watch the fish swim around? With an attention span hers it wouldn't really take all to long for her to get bored and wander away but for now she was rather smitten sitting here on this very comfy beanbag chair, hugging this soft fluffy pillow.

"Mhmm," she hummed nodding her head of ginger hair a bright smile on her face. "I like wearing flowers in my hair and making flower crowns... especially out of real flowers BUT I don't like using real ones because I don't want them to die or lose their lovely scent. The men at the career fair thingy last year suggest dipping the flowers in wax but that kinda makes them lose the flowery smell." Rylee paused for a moment fixing her blue eyes on the plant man. If anyone knew plants and flowers it was him and well Rian but she made perfumes and things like that. "Is it possible to keep a flower alive on my crown?" There were other questions but this was just the foundation on which she was going to build onto.

After a whole summer of being in Brazil studying plants which had been absolutely AMAZING, Isa had sooo much to update Professor Myers on! Everything was on track for her to continue her NEWT level herbology studies as planned this year, having received an Outstanding mark on her OWL in the subject. Her passion for the study of plants had brought her all the way to Brazil, where she had the experience of a lifetime. Honestly, Isa might have chosen to stay there and attend Castelobruxo for the year if it wasn’t for all her friends at Hogwarts that she didn’t want to leave behind. Studying in Brazil over the summer had allowed her to explore the unique flora there and learn from expert teachers while not being too homesick and not needing to worry about other classes. So, here she was, as excited as ever to learn from Professor Myers as she delved deeper into upper level classes. The sixth year danced through the grass, twirling in the sunshine, as she approached his office. Upon reaching the entrance, Isa raised a hand to the door and knocked three times. Know all she had to do was wait to see if the professor was here, or if she might have better luck looking around the greenhouses.

Her question...it was very important. Paul HAD to chuckle as she asked it, and he couldn't hold back the looooong chortle. "Well...wax is certainly one way to do it, but it won't keep a flower alive indefinitely. There is no way to keep any living thing alive, even a plant, alive forever. We can only freeze what it looks like in time...rendering it no longer alive, but only an image of something alive." He hoped his explanation made sense. "But for your purposes...I think there is something we can do." He nodded. "I just am not sure off the top of my head if there's a spell or a topical potion that can do it." He was thinking maaaaybe a topical potion.

But then that would require speaking with Noble, and Paul really did enjoy the opportunity to do so.

When the knock came from his meeting space, he rushed into the very cool toned room and opened the door, smiling a little, albeit tiredly, at Isa. "Hello m'dear. Come right in."

The young Gryffindor listened very intently to every word Myers said to her. This was one of the very few topics that could always gain her full attention. "The wax is working for now... but as you just said I know it won't last forever. I've been experiment with different types of wax and the amount I use to see which offers the longest life to my flowers but it's not easy." At least not to her BUT that's what she enjoyed. The challenge. And of course the end result. The smile that had been on her face faltered slightly at hearing there was no way to keep her flowers alive forever. That wasn't what she hoped to hear but she had always known it was a possibility. One she was going to continue to try to overcome.

Freeze the flowers in time. Now this was an interesting concept. "What do you mean, Professor? How does that work? Could you show me?" Perhaps this could be a way of keeping her most special flowers 'alive'. It made sense to her that she did understand the flower or plant would no longer be alive but what exactly had he meant by an image of something alive? That's the part she was a little confused about it. And if it worked on plants could it work on other things as well? Her twelve year old mind was definitely racing with all the questions. "What about everlasting flowers? Would those be better to use since they tend to last longer?" Another curious question.

Eeeee! Rylee smiled brightly wiggling in excitement upon the beanbag she was sat on. This was great news! "Okay... can we find out? Is there someone who might know?" Like right now or soonish?! Myers had said potion so perhaps Noble could help?! Whoever they needed to speak with she would be happy to go visit right away.

Perhaps we could sit down for a cup of tea.” How long had Professor Myers been teaching here? Isa knew that he had started teaching here when her sister Penelope went here. Myers must have been getting old by now. Isa looked around at the fish as she entered the meeting space. It was nice and relaxing to watch the fish and the aquatic scenery never got old. Where should she start? There was so much that she was thinking about and wanted to say. ”As you know, I went to Brazil last summer and participated in herbology research. I think this is really what I want to do in life, working with rare plants and experimenting in uses for unusual plants.” That was probably getting old by now. Over the past six years she had probably told Professor Myers a billion times how she wanted to be a herbologist. The difference now was that she had some sort of idea of what location she wanted to go to and what sort of work in the field she was interested in.

”As far as I am aware, there is not a wizarding university campus in Brazil, and I’m wondering if university is really the right way to go at all. Do you know if there are herbology programs in Brazil that would serve as an alternate to university?” She had fully been expecting to apply to a wizarding university to study herbology because attending university was just the expectation from her family, but many of the herbologists she had spoken to had said that they had completed apprenticeships or other ways of studying herbology without attending university. She could always go to a proper university for a graduate degree program or something later if she wanted to, right? ”Do you know anything about Hogwarts-Castelobruxo exchange programs? I’m interested in maybe going to Castelobruxo for a term next year. I don’t know how that would work out with NEWTs and everything though.” Basically she just wanted to go back to Brazil for the amazing plants.
