| | Girls Dorms Up a set of spiral staircase from the common room sits a set of doorways leading to the girls dorms. Each of these dorms are divided up by year groups with wooden plaques on each of the doors to tell you which one is which.
Enter the dorm and you'll find that it's been decorated in a similar fashion to the common room below. A number of four poster beds have been placed to fit the right number of people allocated to said dorm. The furniture is made of the same walnut wood and sky blue eiderdowns can be found here, along with silk drapes around the poster beds.
The same arched windows that are found in the common room can be found here as well, each giving the inhabitant a spectacular view of the grounds below. It's interesting to note that these windows often emit a soft whistling sound that is reminiscent of the whistling of the wind outside. While it may seem distracting, these sounds are often said to be relaxing and hardly noticeable after a while.
These dormitories are strictly for the girls of the house only. No boys allowed. |

Hogwarts RPG Name: Elliott Patterson First Year | First post, therefore anybody can snag Wow, just wow, oh wow! Elliott took the final step at the top of the magnificent spiral staircase and stared. At the top stood seven doors, each marked with a corresponding number. These doors were beautiful, so beautiful in fact that she had to resist the urge to open all of them and peak inside. No, she had to stick to the dorm assigned to the First Year students.
Turning herself in the direction of the correct door, she began her walk forwards and opened the door. Hah, she must have been the first to arrive here. Nevermind, she walked in anyway. She was instantly mesmerised by the four posted beds with their blue bed spreads and silky blue drapes. Never in her life had she imagined such a beautiful set of furniture. Everything was made of the same wood, though she hadn't a clue what the wood was. It looked marvelous, though.
She continued to walk around the dorm, her fingers running along the surface of every piece of furniture within reach of her.
Her eyes fell upon the large arched windows, the same ones she'd seen as she walked through the common room. She bypassed the bed with a trunk she recognised as her own and headed for the window closest to her bed. Gazing outside, a smile crept across her features. The view was incredible. The Seven Sisters had something to live up to, here. Though those cliffs were beautiful in their own right, she enjoyed the hustle and bustle of busy places and so the Hogwarts grounds were a perfect provision for that.
She crouched down slightly, her elbows pressed on the sill and her head in her hands gazing out. As she watched the students explore the grounds below, she let her thoughts drift to the endless possibilities. She simply couldn't wait to see what this term had in store for her.

| Sassenach | RAVENPUFF | Sing me a song of a lass that is gone | bookDRAGON | #awkwardturtle<# Hanna didn't think she had ever felt so good in all of her years. She's just had one of the biggest days of her life, saying goodbye to her family, going on a loooooong train ride, going through all sorts of emotions during the first view within The Great Hall, being sorted, and then meeting her housemates. She was also full from a delicious meal, and amazed at her surroundings within the common room. She wanted to explore, not just the common room, but the entire castle. Including the grounds! But for now, she was tired. The sort of tired she would get after a big Christmas lunch or dinner, except with even more on top, because of how fantastic today had been, and so out of her ordinary.
It was with very immense pleasure that Hanna went up the staircase to the first years dormitory. "Wow," she said, doing a full circle to take it all in. It was... well, there were no words. And she wasn't alone! "Hi Elliott," Hanna said to the girl she had met at the feast. Her roommate, it seemed. and for the next seven years! "How amazing is this place?"

Ellie was so engrossed in people watching that she hadn't even noticed the footsteps on the staircase until her name was spoken. In fact, she didn't even register that straight away. She tore her eyes away from the window to look at the person who had spoken her name,
and upon realizing just who was speaking, a welcoming smile came across her features. She recognized the girl from the feast. "Hi, Hanna, right?" She sure hoped she had gotten her name right. They hadn't really had an awful lot of opportunity to speak to each other but she did remember the girl introducing herself. Yes, Hanna was the name she remembered.
The blonde stepped back from the window and took another look around the dorm, there were simply too many beds to count, but she noticed that each window had a different view from it. Granted, they all had a view of the grounds but they showed a different section. She moved toward her bed and sat down on it, her hand falling to the silky smooth bed spread. She sure hoped it was as warm inside as it looked. "It's brilliant, and so much to explore too" she replied.
This was her first time inside a castle, she simply couldn't wait to begin finding all of it's little knucks and maybe even finding out some of it's secrets. A castle this big just could not be without it's secrets. It would be a blasphemy if it didn't.
The first year fell back against the bed, her arms spread out above her head. "This is going to be so much fun, wouldn't you agree?" she asked turning her head to look at Hanna, a mischievous smile replacing the welcoming one.

"This is going to be so much fun, wouldn't you agree?" she asked turning her head to look at Hanna, a mischievous smile replacing the welcoming one. Hanna nodded, "Yup. Hanna Newton." She crossed to where Elliott had been standing and peered out of the window. "Oh it's so high up here. The views are great!" Hanna wasn't scared of heights, and she didn't get scared of looking out the window like other people she knew.
Spotting her trunk at the end of one bed, she went over and saw her cat already purring and asleep on the covers. "Gigi!" Hanna said, slightly too loudly, waking the poor cat. Hanna flopped on the bed, further disturbing the animal. "Oh they're so comfy!" Hanna was getting less and less anxious about being away from her family. "Are you as excited to explore the castle as I am?" she asked in response. Hanna could not WAIT to know ALL of Hogwarts' secrets. "I think it's going to be the BEST experience in life." NO DOUBT.
