Dervish and Banges https://s26.postimg.org/a3c984ryx/de...ges-banner.jpg Dervish and Banges is a small, dusky little outlet located at the end of the street in Hogsmeade. Squatting between a few wooden pillars painted to look like marble, the green and gold building seems to be more of a remodeled mausoleum than a wizarding place of business. As you enter the hideous peeling green door and inhale the thick scent of sawdust and mildew, you'll likely question if the shop actually was a mausoleum at some point. |
open for anyone Noémi was not dressed up in costume as she headed out to Hogsmeade on Halloween. In fact, she hadn't even given much thought that it was Halloween at all as she didn't celebrate the holiday so much anymore. Of course, if there was a costume party later she might reconsider but for now she just went about her day, intending on doing a little shopping. Dervish and Banges always had an interesting selection and perhaps she could get something new for herself. Or for a gift. Basically, she wanted to see what they had, especially if it was something novel, and the Ravenclaw girl pushed open the door to enter the shop. Almost immediately, dust entered the fifth year's nose as she walked in and she let out a little sneeze into the crook of her elbow. Quaint little shop, but they should probably clean a little more often. Anyway... what could she find of interest in here today? |
Cassie had slipped with ease through the bustle of the a busy Hogsmeade and approached the musty shop with interest befitting it. Interest that likely hadn't been given it in all that much time. When she stood directly in front of her destination, the Ravenclaw looked upon the columns on either side of the door with a gaze that didn’t seem to be blinking all that much. If at all. She slipped the paint from beneath her robes and proceeded to add brush strokes to the painted wooden surface that was in need of a new paint job. Red brush marks soon marred the faux marble, forming over time into the shape of an eagle. A distorted representation of her house mascot. And then it was done and the seventh year turned her back and stepped away from it with not a care in the world. |
Colored ink, fresh parchment, and a new journal purchased, Noémi headed out of the shop, bag in hand. It had been a productive shopping trip but the shop was so empty. She really should catch up with some of her friends, even if just not to let her mind wander too much. As she rearranged her packages in her arms to better balance the load, she dropped her pocketbook on the ground. Turning a bit so she could bend down and pick it up, her eyes caught sight of the painted red image on the storefront. "What...?" she murmured, slowly rising to a standing position as she stared at the eagle. It hadn't been there before, had it? No, she was sure she would have noticed it when she walked in. In fact, it very much reminded her of the hawk that was painted on the ceiling at school last year. What did it mean? |
