Miranda made her way into the common room and dragged her hand along the top of her favourite overstuffed chair. Thinking of all the memories this one room held for her. She had met her best friend Rian here five- ish years ago and Remy and her Ixy too.. This would be a different kind of term.. She'd have to learn to be on her own a lot more than she ever had been before. Which would help her focus on her studies as well as training. She wouldn't have the company of her boyfriend, Kenny either.
He was busy at uni with classes and such just as she would be.. No distractions.

Randa walked around to the front and sat with a flop and sunk into the cushion with a happy comforted sigh.

Kimi made his way into the common room and sat down in front of the fire to warm himself up he was glad to be back at school and hoped that he would have a great year ahead even if it was his OWL year

June looked around the common room with awe. It was so. dang. COZY. She felt warm and at home here, which she was very happy about.

Lily, her brown rat, was now sitting on her right shoulder, looking about with her small beady eyes. June had gotten her rat as soon as the feast was over, she loved her little baby so much, and outside of classes would most likely be found with the rat on her shoulder.

Randa heard some fellow Badgers come in and turned her head to see Kimi and a firstie!.. She had to be because of the look of wonder on her face and the fact she'd never seen her before..

" Hey, Kimi.. Good to see you again.. ", she said with a smile before turning to the new girl. " Welcome to Hufflepuff Common room..
I'm Miranda.. Miranda Blaze. 6th year. Here.. ", reaches into her bag and hands her a small box of chocolate Badgers.. " Just my way of saying welcome to your home away from home.. Yeah? "

The truth was everyone that would come through that common room door would be getting a similar box of chocolates .. It was Randa's way of saying welcome back to her fellow Puffs.

Kimi smiled at Miranda and said "Yeah same to you Miranda"

June looked wide-eyed at the box of chocolates that was handed to her. She took it with both hands and looked back up at the girl who had handed it to her.

"These are super neat, thanks." She said quietly with a small smile. She was unsure of most of the other students so far except Emmalyn and Night who she'd talked to at the feast.

"I'm June, June Brown. I'm super excited to be here." She said, but thought 'and slightly terrified', and she was sure her face showed it.

Lily perked her nose up and sniffed in the direction of the person talking to June, then to the person beside June. She then spied the chocolate and scurried from June's shoulder, down her arm, and sat on her wrists sniffed at the chocolates.

"Lily, no! Chocolate is bad for little ratties." She said, taking the hand witht the rat and removing it from the box. A look of utter loss came over the rats face as if she was saying 'noooooooo!'. June plopped the brown rat back onto her shoulder and gave it a little nuzzle with her cheek. Defeated, Lily curled up on her shoulder and watched the other students intently.

Kimi smiled at June and said "Nice to meet you June, I am Kimi and you will get used to the castle eventually i am in my fifth term here and i still get lost easily" Kimi had to admit his sense of direction wasnt perfect

Randa smiled back at him " Thanks, Kimi.. I hope your summer was good.. Do anything fun or interesting? ", She asked as she handed him a box of chocolate badgers.





Miranda smiled warmly at the young girl, " No worries.. I make enough for everyone in our house.. As well as the other houses.. Only their chocolates are in the shapr and house colours of the corresponding house.. "... WOW That was a mouthful, but altogether the truth.. " It's just my way of saying welcome back and hello to all the new students that have joined our ranks.. ", she explained..

Then she watched the rat make it's way to sniff at the sweets she had given her.. " Oh.. Hold on. I have a treat for her too.. " , Randa exclaimed and rummaged through her bag.. {B] Here ya go, Little girl.. " [/B], she said in a soft tone as she held a plain sugar cookie out for June's rat...
" She adorable, June.. We're glad to have you in Hufflepuff.. "

Kimi took the box of chocolate badgers and said "My summer was good thank you Randa was playing for my qudditch team in their summer league which was fun"

Randa smiled as he took the sweets. " Oh.. Wow..
I hope you did well.", She replied. and went back to sit in her chair..
" This is your OWL year, isn't it? "

Kimi smiled at Randa and said "We did pretty well finished as runners up and yes this is my OWL year this year"

The PUFFSKEIN! rolled under one of the couches by the fire, eating some crumbs that had collected underneath. DELICIOUS, BUT NOT AS MUCH AS THE BOY'S NOSE NUGGETS.

Scarlett had just come in from doing some studying - she was taking her NEWT studying niceee and slow to prevent herself from having a mental breakdown and so far it seemed to be helping - and had just stepped foot into the common room when something rolled RIGHT past her. She wasn't sure WHAT it had been exactly, but it had moved REALLY fast - like a RAT.

When it came to magical creatures, or any creature really, Scarlett was usually pretty calm. Excited, even. But when they came out of nowhere like this? Creeping into territory when she didn't expect it? Nope. Nuh uh. Not having it.

Letting out a shriek, the 7th year jumped on one of the nearby couches and pointed to the one across from here that the unidentified animal had rolled under. "WHAT WAS THAT?" she cried.

June laughed as Lily, her rat, grasped onto the sugar cookie with both claws and began to nibble on it. "Thanks so much, Miranda, that's so kind." She said with a smile. June pretty much immediately trusted anyone who was kind to animals.

June jumped at the rolling ball of fluff. "What?!" She exclaimed seeing it roll under a couch. "Was that? A?" She asked, positively shocked.

She crouched down on the floor and looked under the couch to see the little puffskein under the couch. "Hi there little guy!" She said, reaching her hand out for the puff.

*Pop*

Pips hates cleaning. Cook, all day for the studentsies. Clean? Nimma clean best. Broom in hand he began to sweep a corner of the room hoping that the students would ignore him so he could go back to the kitchen.

Moving across the floor Pips noticed the animal the studentsies worry about. Ah just a puffskein nothing worry about.

The common room, her home away from home. She was surprised by how quickly she became completely at ease each time she entered the Hufflepuff common room. Usually it took her months and months to feel at home in a new place, but there was something special about being at Hogwarts. She finally felt like she belonged and she had met the most wonderful people. In fact, she couldn’t think of a single Hufflepuff that she wouldn’t be proud to call family.

As she sat, reading her potions textbook hoping to not fail the class, she listened to the happy chatter all around her. The fluffy chair was just the right size for snuggling up in and her new house colored blanket kept her extra toasty. Really, all that was missing was a mug of hot chocolate and some cookies.
