| | Armour Gallery Adjacent to the Trophy Room is a long corridor where numerous polished suits of armour are on exhibit. This collection of armour has been through a lot over the centuries that the school has been in existence, granted they don't look like it for not a single scratch can be found. If you know your history well enough, you'll be able to easily imagine the circumstances that these suits endured. The weapons they are holding say enough.
Should you decide that you want to examine the armour closely, please do so with caution. Yes, being able to see your reflection in them can come in handy from time to time. Nevertheless, they are known to move because someone's cat has managed to climb inside or, even worse, Peeves has decided to play a practical prank on anyone who happens to walk by and will chase after them, swords and spiked balls on chains swinging. Other than that, the clanky metal should remain quite stationary until they are summoned for battle in a time when Hogwarts is in need of additional protection.

Okay... So here she was. Seventh year. First patrol. This wouldn't be too hard, right?
Vi was on her first patrol of the year. She had split off from being with Erik Jessup III (the Ravenclaw Prefect), who was a rather quiet fellow, in order to go check out the Armour Gallery. Taking a few steps into the room, Vi felt a chill crawling up her spine as if something... like a spider was there. Reaching behind her, she touched her back with a tentative hand and found.... nothing.
Hmm.. Alright. That was weird. Vi chalked down that reaction to nerves.
Yet still, she felt uneasy as if something was watching her. Was something in here? Vi bit her lip. She ventured into the room, casting a non-verbal Lumos, and then began looking in all the corners. Nothing. Nothing at all was here. Just empty suits of armour all lined up.
Lowering her wand, she put it away and then began walking out of the room until she stopped all of a sudden. There was a noise. What... What WAS it? "Huh?" she asked, wondering if she had actually heard something. Vi whipped her head around and raised her wand.
"Hello?"
Please don't be Peeves. She didn't need to start her first patrol with a deja vu moment from her fourth year at the school. Vi bit her lip and continued to grip her wand. "Hello?" she asked again.
Perhaps she was just hearing things....

Perhaps she was just hearing things.... It had seemed like a good idea at the time.
Or a fun idea at least? Bel hadn't actually intended to get herself in the situation that she was in, but here she was. She had just been walking along minding her own business when she'd had an 'ooh shiny' moment, and enough curiosity to go and lift one of the visors and peer inside. And THEN she had thought why not actually, you know, BE inside one of them? She'd never worn a suit of armour before, or even SEEN them in person before she had come to Hogwarts. There just wasn't a lot of that sort of thing back in Aussie. She'd looked for the smallest suit and started pulling it apart. But apparently magic armour made things easy since it sort of had just... opened itself up invitingly and she'd immediately gone ahead and stepped into it, only to find it snuggly closing around her AND magically adjusting itself for her height and size.
And then she'd tried to move.
And.... it hadn't worked.
At all.
Because apparently a suit made out of metal was heavy, and when it was magical it was doubly so. So here she was standing in a suit of armour, lined up with the others. Shorter than the rest, but just as still and silent.
It seemed like no matter what she did, she couldn't make it move. The armour was well content just holding her prisoner (or maybe it liked the company?) She wasn't sure if she should yell out and make a racket, or if she should try to get out of it herself. Would she get in trouble? She hoped not! That was the concerning bit really, she hadn't been trying to misbehave.
And then, after what seemed an eternity, she heard a voice. A hello.
Bel was a BIT concerned about what to say to that. She didn't want to give the person a fright after all. She also wasn't the sort to mess with someone on purpose either.
So the smallest suit of armour remained silent, listening carefully. And not at all noticeable amongst the much taller ranks around her.
.... right?

.... right? Silence was the response that the new Gryffindor Prefect had received. Hmm... Vi pursed her lips, gripping her wand a little tighter. Okay so perhaps Peeves wasn't nearby. She ruled this out pretty quickly as she felt fairly confident that if it had been Peeves then she would have heard him by now or at least smelled dungbombs by now. Then who was here...? Or what was?
She focused on the who first.
Perhaps it was one of her mates playing a trick on her? Her mind immediately jumped to Matt Solo and his trouble-making and jesting ways. She chuckled, rolling her eyes. " Alllllright, Solo, you can come out now, mate," she began with her Australian accent becoming more pronounced by the minute as it seeped into her normal almost London-esque accent. Hailing from Melbourne tended to confuse people as your accent wasn't the broad Australian accent. Plus hanging out with all these Brits had influenced the way she spoke. " I knooow you're just trying to unnerve me because I told you not to lead too many first years astray this year... But that doesn't mean you shouldn't have fun..."
Silence again. No giggling. No laughing. No sssshing. Nothing. Nada. Nil.
Weird.
Actually it wasn't completely silent.... All she could hear was her heart beat slowing down and becoming fainter and fainter by the minute as she became more relaxed. Vi lowered her wand and slipped it into her robes' pocket. Huh. She must have truly been alone, huh? Olivia eyed her watch on her left hand and then saw that she probably had a couple of moments before Erik would come back to see if she was ready to move to the next floor. Perhaps she could get him to check out this room. Because even though she couldn't hear anything, she felt that something was off. SpeRevelio, she thought of first, trying to determine if her uneasy feeling was coming from some sort of spell, charm, or jinx. Nope. Nothing. How intriguing. Olivia bit her lip, wondering if perhaps someone was actually in this room. They would have had to use some sort of silencing charm or softening charm to dull noises. Or they'd have to be pretty good at hiding....
At that very thought her eyes landed on the suits of armour themselves. Maybe hiding in there? she thought as she tilted her head and stared at a suit of armour as tall as Ace. Vi squinted her eyes, trying to see if she could see someone or something there. Maybe it was a little creature that had ended up in the castle. A Niffler even? It'd make sense for a Niffler to be hiding in the suits of armour or trophy room as they had expensive tastes... Peering into the suit of armour, she found nothing. Crossing her arms, she slowly began to walk around the room, taking a moment to examine several of the suits of armour until she found one that was shorter than her. " This is bizarre..."
Perhaps she was overthinking things. Not a big deal. She should go find Erik and continue on with the patrols. A thought crossed her mind. What if...? Eying the shortest suit of armour, she readied her wand. Could a first year be hiding in there? Homenum Revelio, she thought, casting the spell non-verbally. Her blue eyes widened when she "found" where someone was hiding. She chuckled. " Okay Solo. I've found you. Your fun's all over now. You need to go back to the common room," Vi crossed her arms. Why wasn't he giving up and admitting that she was correct or at least protesting the fact?

Why wasn't he giving up and admitting that she was correct or at least protesting the fact? Solo? Well, Bel WAS on her own. She was struck by one interesting thing, and tried to peer through the armour's visor to see, but so far there was nobody in her field of vision and since the armour was frozen in the one position now, she couldn't turn her head either.
That interesting thing was a slight familiar twang. But maybe she was imagining it. Maybe. Maybe it was an effect of being stuck in the armour, with sound echoing funnily in and around her head.
But then there WAS someone in front of her, and Bel realised Solo was a person and not a state of being. "Who's Solo?" She asked, sounding muffled from the visor. Also, confession time: "I'm a bit stuck."

Also, confession time: "I'm a bit stuck." The voice was startling, causing the Prefect to take a few steps back and end up tripping over her footing. This was followed by a CRASH! as she fell into another suit of armour.
Fortunately the only damage done to the room was a loud noise. Vi, on the other hand, would have a very nice bruise on the back of her right hip. She winced as she slowly got back on her feet once more. " You're not Solo..." she began. Seriously. Vi had honestly been expecting Matt Solo to jump out but the a feminine voice with a thick Australian accent. Then again maybe Solo had taken a Polyjuice Potion just to get out of this situation. He wouldn't have had enough time to draft that potion anyway since the beginning of the term. Therefore, this person couldn't have been Solo.
" Solo is a friend of mine. He's always up to something and skirting around trouble," she said as she shook her head. " Who are you?" She frowned when the girl explained that she was stuck. Hmm? Stuck? How was that possible? Vi arched her right eyebrow. " How exactly did you end up in the suit of armour?"

Ohhhh what if she got knocked OVER while she was in the armour??? Yikes.
Oh, so Solo WAS a person. "I'm Bel." She said. And well. As for the hows? And the whys? ".... it seemed like a good idea at the time."

" Bel?" she repeated, noting the girl's Australian accent. " Bel with the Aussie accent? Where are you from in 'stralia?" she asked, letting her accent become more pronounced. No need to hide it so much. Australians could understand each other.
" A good idea?" She repeated. " Were you hiding from someone or something?" Sort of random to jump into a suit of armour and hide all of a sudden... What prompted the girl exactly? Vi was intrigued.

A fellow Aussie! "I'm from Coolangatta!" Bel's enthusiasm was not muffled, even if her voice was. Best place ever, not far from Surfers' Paradise. Right now, on the inside of a suit of armour, Bel was as far from Paradise (or anywhere that could possibly be called cool) as possible. "You only sound a bit Pommy. I'm guessing ya been here a while, but where ya from back home?"
Distracted. She was distracted. Probably there was better timing to make an Antipodean connection at Hogwarts than when she was trapped in a suit of armour. "Yeah nah, not hiding. I just saw them and thought, aw yeah, I'll give that a burl. I didn't think I'd come a gutser but here I am."

Hogwarts RPG Name: Octavius Jude Salander Ravenclaw Second Year | Slytherindor ♛ The Crazytastic Besties ♛ Shan Watson ♛ Now Vi had never expected this. One - that a student was trapped in a suit of armour. And - two- that she found another student from AUSTRALIA? This was pretty exciting. Coolangatta? The name of the town sounded certainly familiar but where was it exactly...? The country perhaps? It sounded very country-esque but not budgie countryesque. Vi had a cousin who sounded very much like a budgie when she spoke. Sometimes it made her cringe. That wasn't the right accent certainly. Hers sounded more northern.... Though Queensland perhaps was too north? Though the girl definitely had a broader accent like a Queesnland one for sure. " Coolangatta?" she repeated before her eyes widened when she realized just where Coolangatta was. The Gold Coast. Merlin. Her geography of her home country was getting worse and worse with the more time she spent over in the UK and Europe. She ought to go back to Australia just to brush up.
" Yeah, I've been here for a while. Moved to France when I was younger and then to the UK after that. I'm afraid most of my accent has disappeared. Though I am from Melbourne originally," she explained. She had definitely lost it but she had always started out with a more subtle accent. Besides her father was American and her mother was the true Australian.
Right. " Right. Right. Let's get you out of here." Now back to the situation at hand. Was a sticking charm in place? She cast a non-verbal. Alohomora. Hopefully that open it? Otherwise, she'd have to use force.... Or maybe ask for help?
