 You will find at the end of the corridor on the first floor is a door that will reveal the Stone Bridge when opened. While it may seem like an odd place for a bridge, do note that it provides easy access to the next tower nearby and makes moving around the castle significantly easier. One will need to use this structure to get to Defence Against the Dark Arts, unless, of course, you are departing from there and need to get to the moving staircases.
It is not uncommon for this bridge to be a meeting place for students because of its prime location in between towers. It also provides a nice view of the viaduct and part of the lake down below. During the fall and spring seasons, this small bridge is a pleasant place to pause for a bit of fresh air before heading back indoors to fill your brain with more information. Though it is is a different matter entirely when it is winter, which is why you will be advised to wear your thicker robes and a scarf when trekking across this bridge in spite of the torches that are lit along the way.

This place... THIS PLACE! Dora really enjoyed it more than she should, likely. It was meant to help pass more easily through to DADA and such, but she just enjoyed coming here to sit and think in her spare time.
Not that she had much of that this term, but whatever.
It was one of the first few stops she made upon arriving late to school for the term. With a thermos of hot cocoa in hand and a basket with cookies and goodies she let the blanket draped over her arm drop to the ground. YAS! Peace and quiet... something she had sought and found in Asia before her pesky brother had searched her down. Ugh. He was the best, really.
Carefully settling down, the Gryffindor let out a sigh of relief as she just... stared out over the edge of the bridge. This was the life.

OWL year was everything she'd been dreading and more, and honestly she felt like she wanted to scream. She should probably have been thanking Skylar for sorting out study planners and clever things this early in the year, but she was begrudging: all of her friends were going to find this eaz-ay, but not her. No, Felicity always had to work hard at these kind of things, with next to no natural ability to help.
And a sheer hatred of studying, which didn't help. Walking did, though, help to clear her head and make her feel more relaxed. Honestly, she'd never thought that she'd enjoy the cold weather in Britain, but with the right coat, it was refreshing. Approaching the end of the bridge and spotting a familiar face, the fifth year slowed.
Dora looked like she was in the mood to relax and not think about her exams. Plus, she had cookies. "Hey. Can I... Uh, mind if I join you?"
She'd be quiet, promise.

She'd be quiet, promise. Having been too engrossed in setting things out just right, she had actually NOT heard Felicity approaching. Which was not okay... because she was supposed to be vigilant. Constantly. Ugh. BUt whatever. A small start was nothing when it came to beautiful friends.
They were friends, right?
Acquaintances at the least. Yep. And her eyebrows were so lovely. Did she know? Smiling up, Dora motioned for her to have a seat. " Not at all. Then you can tell me how you make your brows so perfect and lovely." This was a lovely distraction from all of the things plaguing her... and she was grateful for Felicity sized distractions. So much so she thought about hugging the girl. But THAT would be weird.
" Cookie?"

"Cookie?" With a giggle, Felicity settled onto the blanket next to Dora, arranging her skirt neatly before looking back up at the older girl. "I mean... They're not perfect," she couldn't help but blush slightly as she spoke, not very used to getting compliments. "They're.... Unruly." That was probably a safe word to use, but unruly or not, they were hers and she did love them, even if sometimes she was scared it looked like she had furry caterpillars above her eyes.
"Thank you, I'd love one."

It seemed the more time passed, the less time Kirk had to appreciate the smaller things. This year was giving him a good challenge in terms of work and balance as he casually leaned against the railing to admire the scenery. Despite everything, it was good to take a moment and find somewhere to unwind as he walked through the castle before stopping here.
Kirk then smiled to himself while gazing at the Lake below. What could be better than this?
