Camilla had signed up for this for the sole purpose in bettering herself at duels. Not that she was terrible at it but keeping herself always at the ready and well prepared for anything never hurt. Not to mention that these duels were just for the benefit of that and the atmosphere was anything but harmful. When she had seen her name paired up with none other than her cousin, the transfiguration professor had to laugh. This match was clearly done on purpose she was sure but that didn't mean she would go easy on Kaysha. Maybe.

Entering the arena, dressed in the proper attire, hair pulled back from her face into a ponytail, Camilla looked around taking note of the simplicity or it all before taking her place in the center. "Cousin," she greeted with a small smirk and nod of her head as she bowed to the women across from her. Respect. She had it. However this was a duel and someone had to start them off so it might as well be her.

Flashing Kay a quick smile, Cami took several paces backwards, her wand at the ready. "Tarantallegra," she cast softly aiming the spell at her cousin's feet. One would say it was time to get this party duel started. The spell also fit this women's personality very well and she was sure Kay would understand the teasing playful nature of it.

Since the Monster attack last term, Kay had been determined to improve her defense skills. She had worked tirelessly last term, emerging as the winner of the Professors duels among herself, Rose and Gaston. While the result had left her surprised, she was immensely pleased that her efforts had paid off.

Today, being paired with Cami, she knew she was going to have quite a challenge. It was something she was looking forward to. "Sister/ cousin,'' Kay said, smile in place and bowing at the same time. She straightened up, waiting for the first move.

Ah, the spell that made one's feet move uncontrollably. Kay quickly ducked that one but did not hesitate on sending a spell back- The Bat Bogey Hex.

Sister/cousin. This was a cute greeting and a special one in addition to just hers of 'cousin'. Camilla smiled even more at Kaysha knowing that there would be no hard feelings between them no matter the outcome of this duel. They were cousins but more like sisters, always helping one another. Even though she was happy this was being taken semi seriously...in a relaxed light-hearted fun kinda way.

Ah, so she didn't feel like dancing? How very sad. Cami remained calm when a spell was aimed at her easily tossing up a simple shield charm and deflecting the spell back at her, "Protego." It was also quickly followed up with "Levicorpus" just in case Kay managed to get out of the way of the first charm.

Kay was expecting the deflection. She had her wand at the ready to block the spell but it wasn't a strong enough of Shield Charm to block the second spell. The Muggle Studies soon found herself dangling in the air by her ankle. Good thing she had decided not to wear a skirt for this duel.

However, this little situation did not detour her. ''Flipendo Duo!'' A stronger version of Flipendo should succeed in her getting to Cami.

Camilla couldn't deny the fact that seeing her cousin hanging upside down by one ankle was funny. In all honesty she hadn't even expected that spell to hit Kaysha but when it had a small grin spread across her lips. It wasn't everyday one got to purposely cast spells at their cousin.

What the women hadn't been expecting was for Kay to cast a spell back at her so quickly. She had thought that a cancellation charm would've been cast before she ended up with a spell sent her way. Cami was hit rather squarely in the chest and knocked back onto her bum several feet back with rather painful 'thud'. Ow! Raising her wand and still sitting there on the floor she cast the first thing that came to mind and wouldn't harm the currently dangling upside down lady, "Aguamenti."

It was highly uncomfortable to be dangling by her ankle in the air and even though she was upside down, she was clearly able to see Cami grinning. Oh, she'd get you back, Camilla Stewart! (not in a bad way obviously because... cousin love!)

Her spell worked! But was Cami hurt? Checking on the other woman would have to wait as Kay was busy getting herself back on her feet. "Liberacorpus.'' Down she fell on the ground, skimming her left elbow. That was going to leave a mark. But the fall did one thing good. It saved her from being doused in water. The jet of water missed her completely.

It was always interesting to see a duel take place between two of his colleagues but considering the fact that these two members of staff were related........ well, that made things even more interesting, didn't it? So much so, that he felt as though the only thing this duel was missing was popcorn.

And yes, Kaysha, it was a good thing that you're not wearing a skirt. Hirsch, for one, was glad of it. Nothing ruined a staff friendship - were they friends? - like..... well, that.

The man cleared his throat slightly and glanced down at his watch, instead. Good timing, too, because the duel was set to close in three....... two........ one.......

And up went the shield!

But not before Kaysha had managed to fall and scrape her elbow. Ouch. Hirsch hurried forward and towards the two women but his eyes found the Muggle Studies Professor first. "Are you okay?" Was she badly hurt? Because if so, this would be a good time to stop. "I think it's safe to say that we can stop there. Well done to both of you! That was an excellent effort from both of you." Good display of skill, he had to say.

"Since there can only really be one winner," In a sense. "I have to say congratulations to you, Kaysha, for taking the lead in this round. And you've put up a great fight, Camilla, so well done!" Smile!

They could go and be sisterly somewhere.
