Default Ravenclaw House Table

The finest china and silverware is set on the table for this end of term feast. Although there's no food yet, wonderful smells are emanating from the kitchens, enough to make your mouth water in anticipation.

Have a seat as we wait for the Headmistress to give her speech, but make sure you take the time to swap summer plans and say goodbye to the departing seventh years. No tears... that's what the train is for!

A path is not simply for walking, its purpose lies in moving forward and improving oneself.

His last feast at Hogwarts.

He had to admit, he was going to miss the school now that he actually thought about it. There were still so many things he wanted to discover , so many rooms he was sure he had never stepped foot in but unless he came back as a professor one day he would never find out. Or died right now and his ghost got stuck here or something but that was probably too gruesome...

He sighed as he entered the Great Hall. It wasn't often that Mason could be seen without a book in his hands but today he had not a single book with him. His mother should be proud. Walking up to the Ravenclaw table, the soon to be graduate sat down near the middle and grabbed the empty goblet in front of him to pour in some pumpkin juice for himself.

The only other Ravenclaw graduate that he knew was Rooney. Perhaps he should say a few words to him. Like...good luck becoming minister or something. He chuckled to himself and looked around until his dark brown eyes fell upon a book on the far end of the wall and on a pedestal. The seventh year memory book.

The seventeen year old rolled his eyes. What was he supposed to write in there? The only friend that he had made was Dora and well, he wasn't exactly good with words either. Perhaps he should just sign it. He couldn't leave without proof he had been here right?

Taking a sip from his pumpkin juice, Mason frowned as he thought deeply on whether or not if he should write in it or not.

It seemed surreal that her year abroad was coming to a close, but more than that was that her time as an Ilvermorny student was ending as well. Never in a million years did Louise imagine she would be spending her final closing feast at a school different from where she began seven years ago.

But as the brunette ended the Great Hall at Hogwarts, the Thunderbird realized that she wouldn't have changed a thing. Except maybe with certain actions during the IMPS competition, but that was in the past and while she was disappointed she hadn't won, she knew that Kyle deserved the win and was excited to see her school win. Smart one, that wizard was and she just knew he would go far.

Now, where to sit? When she arrived at what seemed like eternity ago now, she had chosen to sit at the Gryffindor table since it seemed that was where the party was; well, at least Khalil and Maddox made it seem that way. Ironically enough, tonight she was one of the first Ilvermorny students to have made it from the beetle which meant what? She chose where the party started today?

The eighteen year old rested her dark eyes up at the staff dias for just a brief moment, as she found the green eyes of the Hogwarts Librarian. A brief nod of acknowledgement as her feet progressed her forward toward the table of studious Ravenclaws. And the only other seventh year who had been in the competition, which even though they were both bested by younger students, Louise had a feeling it was not based on skill alone. At least she hoped so, given that she was graduating. She herself blamed it on being too impulsive and not thinking properly before acting. They had both been one of sixteen students chosen, which spoke volumes in itself.

"Congratulations on graduating," Louise said, as she slipped onto the bench next to the boy. "So what's next for you?"

All in all, this had been a good term and she was sad to see it end. Sure, she'd felt isolated and sometimes alienated from her classmates for awhile, but that was all calming down and she felt there was only person who she was on irredeemably bad terms with.

And the tournament. Wow! She'd rooted for all the competitors and was just as happy to see Ilvermorny win as she would have been if Hogwarts was the winner. They were all so brave and she was sorry to see them go.

Speaking of going, two of her fellow Ravenclaws were graduating this year: Mason and her co-prefect Rooney. She didn't know Mason very well (but she knew him, of course) but that wouldn't stop her from wishing him the best. Spotting him sitting next to Louise of Ilvermorny, Kitty approached and sat down opposite both seventh years. "Hey guys," the Goth greeted them casually, resting her chin in her right hand. "The common room won't be the same without you, Mason," she said, smiling at the seventh year. "And we'll miss you too, Louise," she said to the Ilvermorny student. Was she also graduating from Ilvermorny? Kitty wasn't 100 % sure. "By the way, you two were fabulous in the tournament. I know I would be way too scared to ever do something like that in front of so many people."

End of Term Feast…

That meant she, Cassandra McNally, had survived. The IMPS…OWLs and any other acronym one could throw at her. So she got to enjoy the evening, and the upcoming summer, until the results arrived of course. But for now it was the End of Term feast and after doing the majority of her packing, the fifth year made her way down to the Great Hall. Relatively early it seemed as not a lot of students were there already. A quick glance over at the Gryffindor table made her aware that Levi wasn’t down yet so she made her way to her house table as it would always be her main destination.

There she found two departing students and a prefect, the younger Ravenclaw deciding to join them. “Hey,” she greeted Mason, Louise, and Kitty as she took a seat. “The end of an interesting year, eh?” she mused before turning to Louise, “Hope you enjoyed your stay with us,” Cass remarked, playing the host. Not that she had really spent any length of time with the Ivermorny student.

A path is not simply for walking, its purpose lies in moving forward and improving oneself.

Coming to the conclusion that he would write his name in the seventh year Memory book, Mason made a mental note to do that later when the feast was over and drank the last bit of the pumpkin juice.

As he filled the goblet a second time, he was surprised to find one of the Ilvermorny students had chosen to sit next to him. Of course he knew who she was, he had studied the other competitors the moment his name had been called out from the Book of Merlin. Speaking of the IMPS, he still wasn’t thrilled that an Ilvermorny student had won. On THEIR grounds. How embarrassing was this for Hogwarts?

Putting aside his jealousy, the Ravenclaw turned to look at Louise and shrugged his shoulders. “Thanks, i don’t know what’s next” he said truthfully. “Perhaps i’ll go to Uni….would have been nice if it was paid for but hey” can’t have all the things right? “Congratulations on graduating as well, must be weird spending your last school day in a foreign country”

When the Prefect sat down opposite of them, Mason raised an eyebrow so slightly, it was hardly visible. ‘The common room won’t be the same without you?’ wow, cheezy much? He nearly laughed but held it in. He appreciated the meaning though so he gave Kitty a friendly nod. Well…he wouldn’t exactly say he was fabulous in the tournament. He had failed the first task. It was kind of embarrassing really. “Thanks” he said, not knowing what else to say to that. “You’ll be graduating next term right?” he asked, changing the subject to avoid awkwardness because he did not know how to reply back.

Ah, his fellow competitor. Mason said “Hey” back when he saw Cassandra. You know, when he had first heard about the IMPS competition and that two students, one female and one male, would be chosen, he had thought that they had to work together as a team. Battle of the Houses so to speak. “Survived your OWLs?” he said with a grin. He knew how stressful the fifth year was.

How had Rooney spent his last few days in the Hogwarts castle? Playing chess with his younger sister, cuddling with his new girlfriend (yay Katy Toussaint and all the good things about someone who believed in you) and packing up everything around the castle from his seven years here. This boy had found a lot of hiding places and had notebooks everywhere. There were probably still a few dotted around the castle that he had forgotten, but it could be someone else's job to find them. Like Brinlee's.

Roo gave Mason a light knock over the head as he walked past and then gave Kitty a shoulder squeeze. That reminded him...he needed to speak to her before he forgot. About Katy things. About being nice to his girlfriend all the time now that he wasn't here to kick butt.

BUT... He didn't have time to talk right now.. He had things to deliver to the Ravenclaw table. He'd already covered alllllllll of the other tables and had saved his own until last. SO HERE. HERE. One of THESE for everyone.

ENJOY.

Stuck inside with Sirius | *Splish-Splash* | bamBAM | ☁ Spooktacular ☁

It had taken Sam far less time to pack than it had done to haul her borrowed books back to the Common Room and school libraries, even with using magic to save her arms. All she had left was some remnants of birthday cake for the train, and her birthday flowers that she wasn't quite sure how to transport efficiently. Maybe she'd send them ahead with Wasabi.

Entering the Great Hall, Sam gave a small smile. Of the people already sat at the Ravenclaw table, three were moving on, and she knew there were others. It was never easy, seeing people leave, but it was getting harder every year, as graduation took the people she was closest to. She already knew this time next year would suck, and she briefly ran her gaze along the Gryffindor table, searching out her bestie.

Back at the Ravenclaw table, it was a bit of a surprise to see Mason without a book. And if she could have somehow read Mason's mind about friends, she would have corrected him. She considered herself one of his friends too. "Whatever you turn yeh mind to, you'll be great," Sam said, catching his reply to Louise as she headed along the table. "You too, Louise. You did great in IMPs. 'ope you enjoyed yeh stay will us."

Slipping into the seat alongside Kitty, Sam gave a crooked grin at the compliment about their IMPs achievements. "You don't think I was awesome too, freezing 'alf to death in that cage?" She nudged the Prefect lightly with an elbow. Since the completion of her OWLs, her nightmares involving examiners and that Arctic tundra had ceased, hopefully never to return. And Derf's homemade chocolate frog card for the birthday had reaffirmed why she'd done it in the first place: loyalty and bravery.

Before to got to say much to her dorm mate, Cassie, the Headboy had arrived. "Thanks, Rooney," she said, taking one of his cards. Something to put on her noticeboard next year. "Wanna sign it for me?" For when he was all famous and such.

"Hey Cassandra," she greeted the fifth year with a vague smile and a wave. "It certainly has been, hasn't it. Have you made any pen-pals this year?" It would be so sad to see them all leave.

And Mason didn't seem to be sad about graduating from Hogwarts at all. Or maybe deep down he was sad but he just didn't want to show it. Or maybe Kitty just wasn't as good at reading everyone's emotions as she thought she was. "Yeah, I'll be graduating next year," she answered with a nod. "I will really miss this place when I do, and even more I'll miss the teachers and students. But I have lots of protests to look forward to." She sighed. "Personally, I'd prefer eight years of school, like the Muggles have it."

"Hey Rooney!" she said in surprise as he came up and gave her a shoulder squeeze. Oh, was she going to miss him! Sure, they sometimes annoyed each other (and he was dating Katy) but in the end she liked him and really trusted him. Before she could say anything though, he was handing her a picture and passing on to the next person. "To dreams, to love, and to being yourself Rooney a Bronwyn," she read out loud, smiling as she did. "Thank you Rooney!" she called out after him loud enough so he could hear halfway down the table. When he was done passing out all the pictures she was going to try to talk with him about where he was going after Hogwarts.

"Of course you were awesome Sam," Kitty said with a smile, surprising herself slightly by giving the younger Ravenclaw a hug. "I would have had nightmares for ages if I was in your place. You and Dora both!"

It wouldn't be long before more students filtered in and honestly, Louise had surprised herself with how early she arrived. Also, where were her fellow Ilvermorny students? Were they staging some sort of Anti-Hogwarts protest by avoiding their last night with their European neighbors? Oh, there was Irene and Lachlan over there at the yellow house table. Waving at the two younger students, her attention was drawn back to her present table when she and Mason were joined by the female badged person (Kitty). Huh, they were going to miss her? That felt rather strange, but heartwarming all the same.

"I think, you can do anything you set your mind to. When you're out there, in those challenges, it wasn't about the people watching, because honestly, you're not really thinking about that. You're thinking about survival. And while there were emotional and physical stresses, it was definitely a worthwhile experience." Louise nodded at the Hogwartian girl. "And thank you, by the way." For missing her and saying she was fabulous in the tournament. Even though she'd come in eighth place overall, she was content in having the opportunity to have completed three challenges.

Another younger girl joined the table, whom Louise recognized as the other Ravenclaw Champion, Cassandra. At her kind remarks, the eighteen year old found her eyes momentarily flick up towards the staff dais again, before back to Cassandra. "I did, yes. The Hogwarts castle is truly remarkable... The architecture. It's something else. I'm definitely grateful for this experience in my final year of school." And she was lucky too, being an Ilvermorny student because her major exams were taken the previous year. So while her Hogwartian seventh years had been cramming for NEWT studies, she got some time to actually enjoy the country a little, as well as figuring out her next move after graduation.

Deciding one's future though, was rather a rather difficult feat. And it seemed her Hogwartian counterparts were no more decisive, judging from Mason's reply. "University is always a safe option. Provides us extra time to figure out our futures," Louise mused, and shook her head at his next comment. "Thank you. Actually, while it's weird that I'll have another feast at Ilvermorny, I think it was rather enriching to be able to spend my final year in another country." How often did one say they got to study abroad for wizarding school?

Another Ravenclaw, one who had been victim in the frozen tundra, was praising her efforts in IMPS. Louise smiled politely at the girl, "Why thank you. I have, most definitely." And if things went her way, this would hopefully not be the last they saw of Louise Hamilton on this side of the pond. As she was mulling over the possibilities for her future again, she picked up one of the picture cards that were scattered on the table by the Head Boy person, and smiled in amusement. And to think, before Hogwarts, she thought Americans were the most egotistical and conceited people. Well played, Hogwarts, well played.

Yeah I broke that mirror, so what? ll NOT backward ll Official Gryfferin ll Lemon's favourite

Truth of the matter? Jessa wasn't entirely thrilled to be going home for the summer. Yes, there was a part of her that missed her dad terribly, the the ability to get in more of what SHE liked without taking long pauses for classes and ridiculous amounts of homework--she also missed her niece and oddly enough...even Cambridge Manor where she could see her sister and her cousins....but she wasn't entirely thrilled to be leaving.

For one, magic would have to go on hold until she got back, which naturally put a hold on more than half the experiments she was currently conducting. That couldn't have been good for anyone. She also wasn't super keen on some of the other things she would have to look forward to by going home. Could she...skip those bits entirely?

Entering the Great Hall, the Ravenclaw had her nose buried inside a book. Jessa didn't typically decide to spend her feasts in this manner but this was the last night and she needed AS MUCH AS SHE COULD POSSIBLY GET from this particular piece of literature before she'd have to put it down for the summer. Always those mixed feelings this time of year.

The 14 year old must have bumped into at least a dozen people before deciding she would need to resume her reading at the table, except, now that she got there, there were DISTRACTIONS--like Rooney Bronwyn giving out pictures of himself with inspiring words. He was always such a perfect human being and now he would be leaving her forever and suddenly her book, the people at the table and her own summer all took a back seat. The Third Year threw herself at her Prefect/Head Boy and clung tightly. "Rooney I know you can't stay forever but I don't want you to go! I can't--who's gonna--what if--" Words were proving a little difficult for her.

For the moment, no one at the table mattered but she would turn to greet them once this heartache was beyond her.

A path is not simply for walking, its purpose lies in moving forward and improving oneself.

Mason felt like he wasn’t himself that he wasn’t carrying a book with him right now. Usually, the seventh year would be seen far away from the rest of the group, his nose buried in a book reading some new kind of adventure. Kind of like Jessa right now. The Ravenclaw chuckled softly as he looked at the entrance door and saw the younger Ravenclaw bumping in to others because she had her nose in a book.

“Thanks Sam he said and quietly corrected himself in his mind about only having one friend. He had a few but the term was just strange to him because he prefered to be alone. “What you going to do during vacation?”

His attention went back to Louise again and he nodded his head. University was definitely the play it safe card. “I think it’s stupid we have to choose what we want to do at this age. I mean, most people are like, work this education that but i think i want to do something for myself and not society. I’ve always wanted to travel the world and go to all the famous libraries and bookstores” it was his dream or at least one of them. “But, in order to do that i need money. And i need a job to get the money so” he sighed heavily. “Unless i win the lottery of course” he said . “Well, i’m glad you enjoyed your stay” actually he didn’t care whether or not the Ilvermorny students had liked their stay but …manners, he had those. Some at least.

Like , how Kitty was talking about how she would miss the teachers and students when she graduated. Perhaps it was the fact that he simply did not have a bond with any of the teachers and only personally knew a handful of students that he thought it was odd to think like that. He also raised an eyebrow when he heard that muggles went to school for eight years instead of seven. “Wow, that sucks” he said truthfully. He was glad to get out of school.

The light knock over the head didn’t hurt but he still rubbed the back of his head as he looked up to find the Head Boy and fellow graduate , Rooney. Huh, he had thought it had been Dora. She seemed like the type to knock people over their heads out of friendship. Or hug them to death.

He shivered. He disliked hugs. He was about to congratulate the Head Boy on graduating when a piece of paper was literally shoved under his nose. He picked it up and turned it around to find a picture of Rooney himself with some kind of quote which he figured was supposed to be inspiring or whatever.

“Dude….seriously?” he asked as he waved the paper slightly. “You want to sign it as well?” pure sarcasm by the way.

Mason answered back first, gaining a friendly smile for her fellow IMPS competitor in return of his grin. And as an outgoing sixth year, the boy was long clear of the exams she had just dealt with. “Uh huh I did…this is not a ghost in front of you,” she remarked in half jest. And that was even after the Defense against the Dark Arts OWL that kept her on her toes.

Oh hey…there was Rooney. “Hey Head Boy…” Cass greeted even as the 7th year messed with her companions. And what was that he left them all? Pictures of the guy with an inspirational saying and his signature. Interesting…and a new move by departing students. She supposed it made for a nice reminder for years to come. “Um…thanks,” she said, putting it safely in her robe pocket.

Sam was next to the group and Cassie gave her dorm mate a smile, choosing not to interrupt as she spoke with Rooney over the picture. Instead, Kitty had gotten her attention so the fifth year turned back to the prefect. “For sure…” she agreed before pausing at the question posed to her. “A few I hope.” Sure she had passed her information on to some of the Ivermorny students, but that wasn’t a clear indication they would develop into pen pals past maybe the first note passed. “What about you?” Overhearing talk of the tundra challenge, Cass couldn’t help but shiver.

Glad she hadn’t had to do that one.

On either end.

She nodded at Louisa’s words, happy and grateful the response was a positive one. Even if the architecture was just one of the many wonders of her school. “That’s good,” the Ravenclaw remarked. “Glad we could share that.” They may have ultimately lost to Ivermorny, but Cass wasn’t going to be rude.

Whoa, it seemed weird to be going home after so long! Well, technically Emma wouldn't be home for long. She and her family were planning a trip to London to visit her aunt over the summer. She made her way to the Great Hall and looked around. Where should she sit? She saw and Kitty at the Ravenclaw table and headed over there. "Hey, Lousie," she said, taking a seat near her. "Hey, Kitty! What's up?"

The Ravenclaw champions (Mason and Cassie), the Head Boy, and the two girls she didn't know (Sam and Jessa) each got a friendly wave. "Hi, everybody!" Then the cards with the Head Boy's picture happened. Emma giggled. Was she allowed to keep one or were they just for the Hogwarts people?

She looked up at the staff table, silently willing Headmistress Hawthorne to start her speech soon so they could eat. Because she was STARVING! Then she noticed not one but two weird things happening up there. One was that the dark-haired guy didn't look sad and tired for once, but the really weird thing was that the old grandpa professor did! was he okay? Maybe somebody should give him a hug!

It was funny of people to assume that Rooney Bronwyn would graduate from Hogwarts without any sort of theatrics. For just a second, it stung his heart to see some of his decorations in flames at the other tables, but it was something that he would forget soon enough. People that didn't appreciate him didn't deserve him -- that was something that he was learning and it would be a continuous uphill struggle for sure. At least his house mates were humouring him to say the least. He signed card for both Sam and Mason with a friendly smile. "I'll send you both tickets to any show I have." Those and a long list of others in this room right now. Professors and students.

Mainly his Professor. His Hirsch... The father figure that he was having to leave behind no matter how much it hurt. That was the biggest kicker here. It was easier to leave family and friends behind when you knew you'd see them, but he and Hirsch had never had a conversation about keeping in contact after their Professor-Student relationship came to an end. The Head Boy gave a quick look at the staff table to see Professor Myers bawling like a baby and Professor Hirsch looking...like there wasn't anything too sad about today. Typical Hirsch behaviour. Avoidance.

Roo blew a kiss in Kitty's direction for her general support over the years and let her get on with conversing with other students. "LOUISE!" The Ravenclaw draped an arm over her shoulder and smiled. "How are you feeling? Ready to cross the ocean once more?" It certainly would be strange if he was coming back in September to there not being any American students bothering them all day every day.. and he guessed it would be strange for them to not be stuck eating crumpets for breakfast and making jokes about tea. (Honestly, it was less than original and the theatrics were sometimes too much for even him)

As for theatrics, Rooney had sensed his darling Miss Jessa Cambridge coming with her head in a book and his own arms were outstretched ready for her to come into them. He held the younger Ravenclaw in a hug and pressed a kiss to the top of her head. "Don't act like I won't be writing you frequent letters, Miss Jessa. I'm not going incognito." But it was nice to know you'd be missed. And these hugs were making this actually feel like a goodbye even though he didn't want it to seem like it. Dropping a whisper to her ear, Rooney gave her a squeeze. "I got into WADA, Jessa. They want me on stage." They did. They actually wanted to let him reach his dreams. Someone was willing to go out on a limb for HIM.

Cassie didn't seem too enthused by the autograph, but Rooney smiled at her nonetheless. "I'm getting hungry, how about you?"

Maybe it was the fact that the term was ending and the Americans were leaving. Maybe it was him being a table or two away from Mel. Maybe it was the aligning of the non-existent stars up above that distracted Kirk from most the feast. So they lost the house cup again, which didn't bother him as much surprisingly. Slytherin didn't win either, which didn't bug him either. This term went pretty well for him, nothing endangered his life this year so he was in his usually mellow Kirky-self.

He still had a few more things left to pack once he was allowed to return to his dorm. Plus a few deliveries to make once their Headmistress Hawkthorn made her speech. So with that, Kirk resigned to leaning his back against the table again his knuckles intertwined behind his head as he stared up at the enchanted ceiling again. It was dark and partially cloudy once the remnants of all the red banners took his eyes could focus on it. This was nice, with all the extra whispers from his other seatmates going on in the background.

Default Mason and Rooney ;____; Also mentions of Sam and maybe Jessa too

Well this was it... the thing she had been avoiding the whole night. Her eyes swept over the table several times before she plucked up the courage to make her move over there. There was Casper... and well... that broke her heart into shards, but this wasn't about him. Not this moment, anyway. Her eyes sought out two other boys quickly.

Mason and Rooney.

How odd that they had become friends, really. Mason got punched in the face by her and Rooney... well she wasn't sure how she felt about him until this term. Now she had such immense love for him. And Mason as well. They were her people now and she was going to miss them oh so very much. With two small parcels tucked under one arm she moved first to Mason.

His back was to her, but that didn't stop her from putting her free arm around him and squeezing him tight. She cared NOT if he had an aversion to hugs. TODAY he was going to humor her and hug her. Okay?! "I got you something," she said softly as she released him from her death grip.

Then her eyes sought out ROO. Frand. Gosh, he was something else, that one. She was so unsure what she was going to do without him next year... but they had the summer to enjoy together and that was what she was going to focus on right now. And NOT the tears that were threatening to spill from her eyes. "Rooney, I got you something, also."

And then she let her eyes wander... almost against her will... to SAM. The hurt in her heart didn't ease up there, either. She gave her a nod that CLEARLY meant she would get to her in a moment. Now there was something to handle.

Oh and hey Jessa... Dora was going to have to properly apologize to her sometime. Maybe.

She listened seriously as Louise explained how they weren't thinking much about people watching as they competed. It made sense of course and it was a very brave way of looking at things. "I'll never forget any of it," she said sincerely. "Next year I will be graduating from Hogwarts, but I hope that sometime our two schools have another event like this. Maybe next time Ilvermorny can host."

And Mason saying that eight years of school sucked dfenitely confirmed her suspicions that he wasn't really going to miss Hogwarts all that much. Oh well, everyone was different. "Personally I would like to stay eight years, but I get why many people wouldn't. By the way, where are you going next?" She'd wish him luck wherever it was!

Turning back to Cassanda, she pondered the return question for a moment, not quite sure what the answer was. She had just invited Emma to be a pen pal... 'I think I have at least one," she said with a smile. "If I didn't have any it would be tragic. Someday I would like to visit Ilvermorny, wouldn't you?"

"Hey Emma!" she greeted the much younger Ilvermorny girl enthusiastically, welcoming her to sit next to them. "How's it going?" Wow she was so going to miss Ilvermorny students when they were gone! "It's a shame we won't be doing this again next year. But you know what? If it's all fine with you, I think I'll write letters to you next year and forever. I always wanted an Ilvermorny friend."

Rooney blew her a kiss. Awww how sweet of him! She smiled and blew one back. Then she watched with silent agreement when Jessa expressed her sorrow at seeing Rooney leave. Kitty would very much miss Rooney's theatrics next year . Lessons wouldn't be the same without.

As she was thinking this, Dora approached their table to hug Mason and say goodbye to him and Rooney. "Hey Dora," she said to the Gryffindor girl as she passed by her. Kitty wasn't sure if the feeling was mutual, but she respected Dora and had been especially cheering for her (among all the others) in the challenges. She would have said more but she wasn't sure this was the right time.

Another year, another set of eagles were on their way to do wonderful things in the world and she would miss them. Numerous years here would've taught her how to deal with this time of the year but that didn't seem likely.

As it were, the Grey Lady suddenly floated up through the table, through one of the headshots of the current Head Boy, and smiled at the Ravenclaws and guests seated there. "Good evening, Ravenclaws and guests!" Her eyes found the headshots that were scattered like confetti and, if possible, her smile widened. "Celebrating, are we? I'm glad you have high aspirations, Mr Bronwyn."

She glided to an empty spot between two eagles and sat there, her hands poised on her lap and an elegant look about her. "Have you all had a nice term? Ready for some rest and relaxation?" The question was aimed in a random manner to anyone who wanted to talk. She wasn't, of course, fussed when it came to talking to her Ravenclaws.

Was it odd for him to be wandering down to the table so soon?

Maybe. But his mind was too focused on something he told himself he'd do to care about that.

So, some time after the Headmistress had given her speech and food had appeared on the tables, Hirsch descended to his house's table. A smile and a wave was given to the other Ravenclaws, Miss Hamilton, Dora, Miss Darque and the Grey Lady, who were all seated there. He would stop to talk but not until he'd seen to two seventh year boys.

Mason was spotted first and so, he stopped near him to talk to him first. "Hey, Mason," he said, clapping the boy on his shoulder, "How're you feeling? Ready to graduate?" Whatever the answer to that question was, he probably wasn't going to be surprised in the slightest. It was a big night, after all.

And speaking of emotional, his green eyes landed on a certain Head Boy and he smiled a little sadly. "Come here," he said softly, ignoring how heavy his heart felt and gesturing for the boy to come over. He probably should've called the two to his office to talk about this but it was a little late for that so this'll have to do. Sorry, boys.

Sitting in the Great Hall for the End of Term Feast with the Hogwarts students felt almost like an intrusion. Everywhere he looked, Kyle saw signs of sentiment and affection, and so many mixed emotions it was, quite frankly, an exhausting sight to behold. Many seemed happy for the end of the school year, others appeared exhausted (probably a by-product from the final exams and/or the competition, depending on each individual student's priorities), but Kyle could also see some unhappy faces out there. He knew what it meant of course - many Hogwarts students were leaving for good, and those left behind were sad to see them go, and perhaps even the seventh years themselves harboured bittersweet feelings about it all. Then there was the separation of the newer inter-school friendships (something Kyle hadn't quite managed to form for himself, but perhaps there was still time), soon to have the entire Atlantic Ocean between them

So yes... it felt like an intrusion. In all honesty Kyle had felt the same way even at the end of term celebrations back at Ilvermorny, given that he had never yet forged any particular attachments with students who had gone on to graduate (though that was likely to be different next year). But still, here, at Hogwarts, even though all of Ilvermorny was here too... it felt extra weird to witness all of these... feelings. Or whatever.

But still, here he was. Even Kyle knew that it would be in poor taste to not show up to the feast, given they had been hosted by Hogwarts for the entire year for the IMPS competition, and he himself had gone on to win said competition. Also, he had to admit that the food here wasn't so bad, even if he did miss the Ilvermorny food he was much more accustomed to.

Kyle had chosen the Ravenclaw table as his accommodation for the feast. While he felt more drawn to the Slytherins - and not just because of the shared serpent mascot - he also found that he had a particular affinity for those of the scholarly house, and it was with those students that he had found himself sitting with at the start of the feast. Mostly, Kyle sat there quietly, on the figurative sidelines, not wanting to interrupt any of the emotional farewells that were going on around him. While he waited for the feast, he simply observed his mostly British hosts, at one point picking up one of those curious cards that had been delivered to the entire table by the Head Boy to inspect it.

When the speech started, Kyle found he was only half listening, mostly as it was all to do with Hogwarts specific stuff, like points and the house cup. That was, of course, until his own name was mentioned. Of course. He should have expected it, really, but Kyle was still slightly taken aback as a smattering of applause followed the words 'Kyle Baker'. Not entirely sure how to gracefully handle the attention, he just sat where he was, stoic and still, having to make a conscious effort to not automatically applaud with everyone else like he had been doing up until that point.

And then the attention was off of him again, and Kyle breathed an internal sigh of relief. He fiddled absentmindedly with fork until the speech was over and the food appeared before this time giving a literal sigh, leaning back slightly where he sat, and mussing up the front of his hair.

The air of finality, it was somewhat liberating, wasn't it? The school year ending with a bang, and extravagant gesture like a feast, it was always so much better than things just slowly fizzling out. Because now, suddenly, Kyle was so very aware of how close he was to being back home, to having the time to relax and decompress and just be on his own - or with his grandparents - for a while. The thought prompted a small but content smile to replace his usually dour expression, and Kyle scanned the table for food to fill his plate up with, feeling a metaphorical weight lift from his shoulders that he had barely even noticed was there until it had gone.

Rooney was glad to see Dora heading over this way, knowing that certain situations could make this awkward for her. A friend was a friend, no matter what. He extended his arm out for her to pull her into a side hug, but was given the mention of a 'something'. "Miss Dora, you certainly didn't have to get me anything." The thought was appreciated and the gesture was all sorts of kind. "I have nothing for you except my face on a card. I can sign it right here for you.." He had just signed a few for Ravenclaws. Quick, Mason, show Dora!

If one could hug a ghost, then this one would be engulfing the Grey Lady into his arms and his snuggles right now. Her presence had been a constant for him at Hogwarts, despite them sometimes not getting on the best of ways. "You've taught me only to have the high kind of aspirations, ma'am. None of that wishy washy 'maybe one day' stuff." That was true. Rooney was a man of his word and if he wanted to be on stage for the rest of his forever, then that would be what happened. If he wanted to go into politics, then he would.

Right now, he wanted to go to university, to sing, to perform and to fall hook line and sinker in love with Katy Toussaint in time.

Rooney would be stupid to think that he could get through this feast without getting too emotional. Actually, he had filled up with tears as soon as he saw Professor Hirsch get up from his seat and make his way toward the students. At first, he was upset that his Head of House may stop by a different house table before this one, but then he found himself getting more overwhelmed by the thought of saying goodbye to this annoyingly attractive man that always had something for him to learn.

He mimicked the sad smile given to him, wiping the corner of his eyes against his robes to rid any of those tears that had grown. Slinking close, Roo looked expectantly at Hirsch. "Is Headmistress Hawthorne wanting my badge back now for my confetti rain? Say it isn't so, Sir." See,
look, the art of pretending a certain conversation didn't have to happen by starting a different one.

A path is not simply for walking, its purpose lies in moving forward and improving oneself.

Speech, FINALLY

Mason put down his goblet filled with pumpkin juice and turned to face the staff table when the Headmistress started her speech. He clapped along when needed and when the seventh year graduates had to stand up he decided to keep sitting down. It was awkward enough and he didn’t need an applause because he graduated.

The moment the speech was over, the Ravenclaw looked hopefully at the table and sure enough the food came through the wood. Grabbing some potatoes, a few vegetables and a pile of chicken wings, the seventh year began to eat, letting out a small chuckle at Cassie’s little ghost joke. “Hey you never know , i’ve heard students have actually died in this place” he answered half jokingly. His sense of humour had always been a bit dark.

Then came a girl whom he did not know so Mason figured she was one of the Ilvermorny students who decided to sit at their table. He nodded his head in Emma’s direction as a sign that he had seen her wave before he was literally ATTACKED by an unseen force.

Dora! Come on, let go please” he gasped as the Gryffindor squeezed him in a tight hug. What was it with people and hugs. Never heard of personal space, people? Letting out a relieved breath when she finally let go, the seventh year turned to look at the girl. “What?” he asked in answer when she told him she had something for him and Rooney.

Speaking of Rooney, Mason’s mouth dropped slightly when the Head Boy picked up the photo he had in his hand and…..signed it….with a smile. Oh Merlin’s Beard…had he not heard of sarcasm? Still, the fact that he would send tickets to any show he would be in when he became famous was cool though. “You better not forget that promise” he grinned.

Turning to Kitty next, Mason shrugged his shoulders. He did that a lot lately. “I don’t know yet, i kinda want to travel to every famous library/bookstores in the world. Would be cool. And study at University or maybe work somewhere” he hadn’t decided what he wanted to do yet.

A hand landed on his shoulder and the Ravenclaw turned his head to look up to see who it was. “Seriously, people. Never heard of personal spa--- oh, sorry Professor…” Scratching the back of his neck awkwardly, Mason shrugged his shoulders. “I’m okay” he said because honestly, what could he say to that? And if he was ready to graduate? “Definitely, i mean, school is okay but seven years is more than enough of . Did you know that Muggles spend EIGHT years at school? Kitty just told me, crazy right” it wasn’t even a question, it was a statement.

Mason’s dark brown eyes went to Rooney when their Head of House called him over and he hoped that they weren’t going to get all emotional right now. Cause if they were going to cry he at least needed an headsup so that he could escape.

Emma smiled when Kitty spoke to her. "I'm good," she replied, but her smile faded a little at what she said next. She'd been trying not to think too much about leaving Hogwarts because it made her sad, and she didn't want to be sad right now! Feasts were for having fun, right? "Yeah, shame..." She bit her lip and stared at the floor for a minute. She was going to miss all her Hogwarts friends! Wait, what? Her head jerked up, and her moment of sadness was forgotten. "Whoa, really? Of course it's fine with me!" It was more than fine! She reached for a pen and paper to exchange contact information with Kitty, then she realized she didn't have her bag with her. "Do you have a pen and paper I could use?"

Yay! The food was here! Emma had only been paying slight attention to Headmistress Hawthorne's speech; she was too distracted by her hunger! Though she did clap for the House Cup winners, graduates, and the IMPS champions, especially Louise, Jesus, and Kyle... because they were awesome! And speaking of Kyle, there he was! She smiled and waved at the IMPS winner before loading up her plate with the delicious food in front of her.

She stopped eating, and her eyes grew big as the ghost appeared. After all these months, she still wasn't quite used to that! "Hello," she said, politely smiling. The ghosts here sure were friendly! Well, except for the Slytherin one. He gave her the creeps! "Oh, yes ma'am! Experiencing Hogwarts for myself was really fun!" So much fun that she almost didn't want to go home!

And there was the handsome professor with all the tattoos (Hirsch). Hiiii, professor! Emma smiled as she returned the professor's wave. Did he know her aunt? Maybe Aunt Dory had done some of his tattoos? She'd been meaning to ask him about that, but he looked a little busy right now. She'd ask him when he was finished talking to those two older boys (Mason and Rooney).

Gaston had parting gifts for all the graduating seventh years, and his first stop was the Ravenclaw table. "Hello, everyone," he said, offering a smile and nod of acknowledgement to Miss McNally, Miss Tyler, Miss Cambridge, Miss Valentine, Mr. Forsfelle, Dora, Mr. Baker, and the two Ilvermorny girls as he passed. "Ready for summer?"

The Ravenclaw ghost also received a smile. "Good evening, Lady Helena," he greeted her with a respectful bow of his head.

Gaston's bright blue eyes landed on Mason and Rooney, the two boys he came to see, but he saw that Hirsch had already beaten him to them. He suddenly felt as if he was intruding on a private moment. Maybe he should wait and try to catch them before they left to give them their gifts? No, he decided. He wanted to make sure they got them. He quietly set a chocolate frog and a sealed envelope containing a congratulations card beside Mason and Rooney's plates. "I won't keep you boys long," he said in a voice barely above a whisper. "I just wanted to say congratulations and good..." There was a slight catch in his throat. No, he was not saying goodbye! "Good luck."

There was more he would've said, but he didn't want to deprive the boys of their time with their Head of House. Besides, everything else he wanted to say was contained in the cards he'd handed out. Oh, and that reminded him! He'd brought extra chocolate frogs to give the Ilvermorny graduates. He wheeled around and handed a chocolate frog to Miss Hamilton. "Congratulations on graduating, Miss Hamilton!"

Without another word, he turned away to give out cards and chocolates to the other seventh years. As he went. he cast a sympathetic look back at Hirsch. He knew how he felt. Watching students walk out of one's life forever was the hardest part of any teacher's job!

She would have said more but she wasn't sure this was the right time.

Dora glanced over when she heard her name, a small smile forming. She had spent the whole of term so wrapped up in her own mess that she hadn't really gotten a chance to speak with Kitty. What a shame. The Gryffindor girl really DID like her. She was weird and Dora Umbridge liked WEIRD.

"Hey Kitty. Hope you have a lovely summer," she said with a genuine smile this time. Meant it too, she did. The blonde girl gave her a motion to show that she would come over and speak properly as soon as she was done with Roo and Mason.

Hirsch.

Dor was still a bit undecided about him, but for real, she had appreciated his taking the time to speak to her and work with her this term. Even if she felt like he did it out of a sense of duty... and not because he especially wanted to. But whatever.

He got a small nod in response to his smile and wave.

SPOILER!!: Kyle Baker

As the Headmistress mentioned Kyle during the speech, she let her eyes land on him. She wasn't sure about this guy either. None of the Ilvermorny kids seemed particularly keen on her... aside from maybe Valerie, given the few conversations they had had. But she gave the boy the round of applause he very much deserved.

Truly he did.

Clearing her throat a bit, she spoke over the noise, hoping the boy could hear her, "Kyle... congratulations. You were amazing and deserved that win."

The thought was appreciated and the gesture was all sorts of kind.

Since she had let Mason go from his death grip, Dora moved immediately to Roo's side, slipping gladly into that one armed hug. She needed Roo hugs in her life. Holding the small parcel out to him she gave a shy sort of smile. "It's not much, but I had to do something for you. And well... it's kind of two things." Hope you like it, Rooboo.

"I'm gonna miss you so much..." she managed, in a tiny voice. She told herself she wouldn't cry... but that was seeming less and less likely as the moments passed.

Hmph. Mason Winslow was going to have to get used to Dora hugs. Seriously. He was never going to stop getting them even if he had an aversion.

What?

What?

Was that anyway to respond when someone said they had gotten you a gift? HMPH. Holding the parcel out toward him, the blonde girl made a FACE at him. "Well I can keep if you want, but I don't think it suits me." And really there was something else in there for him, also. Just something to remember her by. Because... well he was leaving and she was going to miss him like mad.

Marchand.

Hmmm. They had had their ups and downs, but really the girl had gained a bit of respect for her head of house over the past term. He had been there when she needed someone and that had meant a lot. And well... he hadn't suspended her for breaking all those chairs in the common room in her fit of rage. He was good people for that.

"Hey, Professor... yeah. More than you know, really." And then she let her eyes wander to Casper... her heart splintering a bit more. "I hope you get to relax some this summer, sir." Her voice may have been small and weak, but she meant it. He needed to relax... and maybe learn how to Gryffindor some more.

Heh.
