Welcome to your first duel!
This is a key stepping stone into determining your placement in the Jinx Tournament so please take this seriously. A list of spells to use can be found HERE while the cost of physical actions can be found below.
Please note that these actions take away from the Fatigue Points section. Also note that these are only taken into account if you're attacking or avoiding a spell. If you're simply moving around the hall, these points don't need to be considered.

Professor Hirsch will be present to oversee the duels and will only interfere if the duel ends or any foul play or unsportsmanship-like behaviour is displayed.

OOC: This duel must be completed by the 15th of June by 11:59pm GMT. You're required to make a minimum of 3 posts each in that time.
If you have any questions, please don't hesitate in contacting me about them or posting them in the Dueling Club Rules thread. If you don't think you can post during that time or you don't think you can start/finish your duel, please let me know as soon as possible and we'll try and work something out.
Remember to keep a track of your points both in the title of your post (before any spells have been cast) and at the end of the post (after your charrie has cast a spell). Please refer to this post if you're confused as to how this works or, simply, come to me. Include as much information as you can about the spell in the spoiler section at the bottom of your post, including the directionality of the spell.
Also remember to be as realistic as possible with your charrie's age and ability.
First person mentioned in the thread title is the first person to start off the duel.

TIME TO DUEL.
Théo has kinda excited for this since well he did not take part in it last year. So time to have fun. Also DADA was one of the classes he liked and remembered the spells for. Also since what happened to Simon and Abey last year. Best get better at defense and spells.

Théo greeted smiling as he did the bow you had to do and all the other stuff you needed to do. And yep now it was officially time to duel and might as well to this thing off with a bang dude. Sorry those Americans are pretty funny. The second lion raised his wand and cast

time to duel.
Simon couldn't figure if he dreaded finally showing his face. Last year out of fear that it would act up his Asthma too often. He skipped all his Duels despite Mr.Rockefeller signing his permission slip to partake in them.
Lot of good that did him. After what happened at the end of last year.
Here's hoping the swimming Healer Reed asked him to do over the summer strengthened his lungs. Enough to not need his inhaler hanging around his neck once this match.
"Théo."
Simon not wanting to be rude returned a smile back at Théo. bowed then went to his spot to ready himself for the duel.
Slug what!? No! No Slugs...So Gross. "EEeep!" Simon ducked down and covered his head and shut his eyes. Terrified that the spell would hit but the spell Zoomed right over his head. Peaking out from his arms-covered head Simon took one arm off and poked his wand out at Théo. Still ducked down he spoke the incantation for the Tripping Jinx and sent it right at knee level of the Gryffindor.

Ok that was a nice dodge. Almost got him there. It would have been nasty seeing the slugs. But well it was an interesting spell. So...Wait did he just cover his eyes. Uh well where you suppose to see what you were doing in a duel. What was he going to do??? because this little time doing nothing gave Théo all the time to watch and see. Tripping Jinx. Well Théo got out of the way of that one by jumping away. Théo immediately pointed his wand at Simon and cast
"Titilando"
Some of these spells had fun words in them.
Slugulus Eructo, now Titilando. Easy for Théo to remember.

Did he hit? Simon stood up and took a few steps back his eyes on Théo as his opponent jumped out of the way of the Spell. Gosh Dangit! Simon was actually..well..upset that the spell missed. Which was odd. Simon was sure he wouldn't much care about winning it. He just wanted to survive without being hurt.
Ah oh no! that next spell came from Théo faster than Simon could react. He tried to duck again but before he could even begin to crouch the spell hit him square in the belly.
The Bespectacled Badger began laughing and giggling a little too much. It felt like pinches and tickles all over his sides as this spell took it's effect on him.
He wanted to catch his breath after that. All the laughing let out a little too much air from his lungs.
Extending his wand hand once more at the exact moment he felt there wasn't any tickling on him he yelped, "Locomotor Wibbly." and cast the Jelly-Leg Curse at Théo. | |

Wait he is spell actually hit, seriously. Well that was awesome. Théo thought Simon was going to duck or use Protego or something. But well it worked and the second year lion just watched as Simon started laughing and well he wished he had hit him with something cooler than this.
He kinda lost focus and before he knew it Simon was casting another spell and down he goes.
WHOA
He look at his legs and it was a weird feeling.
Oh spell right. Still on the floor. Théo sat up and cast
"Furnunculus"
right at Simon.

Watching this duel take place was like watching two opposites go up against one another. On the one hand was Mr Montmorency, who clearly had an affinity for the subject, and on the other hand was Mr Rockefeller, who needed a bit of a hand to get onto the same level as his peers. Spells wise, at least.
And it certainly showed in this duel.
Something he could hand to Mr Rockefeller? That despite the struggles from the end of the previous year, the boy was still trying. And, naturally, Mr Montmorency wasn't letting the boy go without somewhat of a fight. A small smile flitted across the man's face, silently pleased with himself for matching these two up in a duel. If he could, he would've given himself a pat on the back to go with the general mood.
...... Right. Duel.
It wasn't too long after Furnunculus spell was cast that Hirsch held up his wand and cast a simple shield between the two second years. The spell hit the shield, saving Mr Rockefeller from being covered in boils and pimples. You're welcome.
"Excellent! Really well done, both of you," he said, approaching the two of them and lifting the effects of the previous spells that had been cast, "You've both put up a good fight but, Mr Montmorency, you've won this duel. Congratulations! And well done, Mr Rockefeller. Make sure to work on your defensive skills, okay?" Which could benefit both of them.
And they were free to go.
