What was once a hidden area in the seating area, is no more. Now where the bookcases would be there are now french doors for any student to easily see the room. Walking in you see a couch with folded up blankets and pillows. To your right, you see three painting desks with tons of different sized blanket canvases. On the painting desks there are all sorts of different paints and basically any color you can imagine. Back over towards the couch are a few medium sized canvases on the floor next to an art easel with a blank canvas on it. To your left are tables and mismatching chairs. On top of the tables are sketch books and coloring books, along with crayons, markers and color pencils. Near the study tables there a smaller round table with some Astronomy books and notes that Professor Berkovich put together for the new term. Take a break, paint a picture, do your homework, draw, take a nap, color, read a book and chat in here. This is a room for everyone to have the freedom to express them self. This is one of the only rooms that Professor Berkovich kept from the previous term.

OOC: Please be respectful to the students that are reading or studying in here.

It was his two hours on a Thursday set aside to de-stress and just be with his own thoughts, so Rooney had gone for a walk around the castle to find somewhere he could sit with his book undisturbed. Or at least in a somewhat quiet area. Stretching out against a pillow, a blanket lay over his legs, Roo opened up to the page he had last finished off at and started to read.

Ah, yay for leisurely reading.

At the end of term last year, Noelle had stumbled on the creative study room. It was the first time she had officially met Althea. They ended up eating and painting rather than studying, but Noelle was heading to the room today to study.

Entering the room, she expected it to be empty... only it wasn't. Head Boy Rooney was reading here. Hmmm.... he wouldn't mind sharing the space right? The library was already full of students studying.

"Hey Rooney." Noelle said quietly as she headed to the other room. Why was there only one couch in here?? She placed her bag on the floor and pulled out the book she was going to use for studying. Putting it on the canvas, she opened it to the pages she needed it. This is what you called making use of your surroundings.

Now time to study.
Pulling out her quill, she almost dropped her ink and proceeded to make a quick grab for it. Only, she hit the other canvas and that went crashing down... along with everything she had just set up.

Rooney? Rooney? Hey, that was his name! Looking up from his book, Roo was greeted with the sight of one of the Gryffindor Prefects. "Hey Miss Noelle! How are you doing? Settled back in nicely?" It was nice to know how his team were getting on being back at school - they had been his team before he became Head Boy and now they really were his team. His and Rula's. And it was a great bunch and he had every belief in them to be able to keep the castle running as smoothly as they could alongside the Professors. People didn't tell you how much there was to being a Prefect, really they didn't.

He sat up from his spot just in time to see the clutz Miss Noelle cause absolute carnage with what she had set up. Roo gasped. Ay yi yi. Immediately, Rooney pulled out his wand and cleaned up the ink mess for her before cracking up laughing. "What. On. Earth?!"

So Noelle's bad attempt at being quiet and letting Rooney read was not going well. She blinked at the mess for just a moment before scrambling to grab things and put them back, but seemed to be making more a mess than fixing it. She sighed and blushed because these things always seemed to be happening to her, and they were quite embarrassing. Clutz. Definitely a good word to describe her. "Okay... so... that didn't happen." She said with a little laugh as Rooney waved his wand and fixed her mess. ....

Let's try this again.

Instead of sitting on the floor, Noelle pointed her wand at one of the wooden canvas' and transfigured it into a chair. It was an uneven chair but she was happy with it. Sitting down, she carefully assessed her area before opening her book again. "Thanks Rooney, I didn't mean to interrupt you." She said glancing over at him. And he was sitting up now?? Merlin.

"I found this room last year. At the end of term. It was hidden behind a bookcase though. Glad to see they've put doors to it this term." Why was she still talking? She didn't come here to talk. She came here to study. Rooney probably did too, since he was taking all 12 classes.

"And what do you think about these Ilvermorny students coming? She asked, her mouth betraying her mind. She glanced back at her book and pulled her quill out. Ready to study... but half willing to do so.

Rooney was still laughing when Noelle plucked a chair out of a canvas using her wand. He applauded for her as his chuckling subsided, sitting himself up properly and setting his book aside. "No, no. I appreciate a funny interruption." It was much better than a first year getting a spell wrong or some stupid bicker in the common room over the seats by the fire. Students could be more needy than his cat, really and truly.

He looked to the doors into this room when they were mentioned and he nodded. "I never knew it was here. Any idea why it was hidden away last year? Salvatore having secret rendezvous with Hernandez? Newton? Hirsch?" The thought of his Head of House having any sort of romantic relationship with anyone made his stomach feel slightly off. Hirsch was married to his job, right? Betrothed to his students? Yikes. Noooooooo thank you.

"As long as we kick their butt, I'll be happy."

Okay phew, Rooney didn't look annoyed that she'd interrupted him. She grinned at his applauding and took a little bow in her seat. "Its an art really." She said with a small laugh before turning back to her books.

When he mentioned why it was hidden away, Noelle looked up again. She became thoughtful at the thought of Professor Salvatore with any of the others. "Newton... depends on the male or female version." One being a younger female and the other being an older male. Both seemed unlikely. "Now... Hirsch. That would be something." Hirsch and Salvatore hidden away back here. She glanced around, a little smirk on her face. "Hernandez would be a good scandal too. I wonder if the professors are secretly dating though. What about Rivers?" The way he came in and took charge after the monster situation last term... Oh yeah.

"Oh we will." Noelle had no doubt about that. She did wonder who was going to be chosen and when that was happening. Would they get to put their name in a cup? "Have you heard anything about whats going on with that competition? How are we doing it and all?" Rooney being Head Boy may have heard something.

Rooney considered how he felt about Professor Hirsch being involved in anything like that and shrugged. "I don't think she was Hirsch's type." Roderik Hirsch was incredible and he was deserving of only the best. And anyone who had attended that one Astronomy class last year had known about this Ravenclaws feelings about the Astronomy Professor from last term. They'd probably be able to guess about his relief that they had a new Professor this year, too. With a raise of his eyebrow, Roo laughed. "I don't think it's a secret about some of them dating, is it? There hasn't been much to hide it. They're about as obvious as we are." And it was well known that students could not keep relationships secret. Teenagers.

Adults were probably better at keeping their love lives quiet more so than students were. That was Noelle's view. They were more mature than the average student. The thought of Hirsch with anyone though... it didn't seem plausible. He was too great of a man.

Maybe Noelle was blind in that aspect, or rather, too busy to have noticed? Either way, she didn't know.

Noelle went back to studying for a minute as she considered the Ilvermorny students coming. She also liked how Rooney said Miss and Mister to most people. It was polite, and just so Rooney. "Maybe they'll be a meeting or something. It would be nice to know how to prepare." Like, would they be prefecting over the other students or did those students have their own student leaders? Where were they staying? Etc.

Rooney could only grin and tap his nose, indicating that it wasn't up to him to be telling what he had observed between their Professors. If Noelle paid a little more attention, then she would easily have picked up on it. Honestly. It was easy to do.

"If I find anything out, I'll bring it up at our weekly meetings. Though I expect it will be kept as secret as possible, especially in the run up to the start of it." That was just how he perceived their Headmistress to be with these things. She kept things quiet, right? That was why it took so long for the Board of Governors to find out what was happening last year. ...Right?

More observations from Rooney Bronwyn that no one actually cared about.
