Gryffindor Study Area

Thanks to Joel/Charely Potter

Desks and chairs and books - OH MY! If you're in need for a quiet place to study, then you've found the right place. Although the study area is mixed in with the common room, you'll find that the study area has been charmed with silence. That's right - none of the noise from around the common room will pollute the study area, which leaves YOU to study in peace.

Adorning the walls surrounding the study area are curved bookshelves which hold a multitude of books - from first to seventh-year subject specific, to advanced learning. From fiction to non-fiction, new and old, there are many books here to help you. And if we don't have specific books for you, then there's always the library.

Dora sighed happily as she entered the study area. Oh man. It was nice and quiet in here. The Gryffindor Common Room used to be a place of solace for her, but it seemed to get louder and louder every year. Especially THIS year. She blamed certain things... but she kept those thoughts to herself. Because she was a lady. Obviously.

Or had learnt that voicing her opinion got her ABSOLUTELY nowhere.

Mainly because she didn't have a filter. Or so she had been told. Ha.

But she put all of those things from her mind as she settled into a comfy spot and opened her book on nonverbal magic. Sure, she didn't do 50,000 extra curriculars or take on more than she knew she was capable of handling, but she definitely prided herself on studying hard and teaching herself. She had even taught herself how to mostly focus without the help of potions and the like.

Sir Nicholas fancied seeking some refuge in the Gryffindor Common Room. The feelings around the castle were getting to the ghost, who disliked all the spiritual changes going on in Hogwarts since last term. At least in the Gryffindor Common Room he was less likely to come across any of the poltergeists and their odd energies.

"Hello Dora," Sir Nicholas greeted coming to sit (hover) at a chair near her.

Dora didn't startle easily, so when the ghost spoke she casually glanced over the top of her book at him, a slight furrow between her brows. He was speaking to her now?

Interesting.

"Good evening, Sir Nicholas. How are you? " she asked politely before looking back down at her book. Not that she didn't like the ghost or anything, she was just a bit sour today was all.
