This was the best part of the day.

Breakfast!

Well, second breakfast. If she had to go from the Dungeons to the upper floors due to her lessons schedule, was it really that surprising that she would take a detour and stop at the Slytherin table for some refuel? She did not think so.

The fifteen year old set her school bag on the bench before sitting down, reaching for the pumpkin juice and filling up a glass. Now, what would she eat? Toast? Cake? Ah - yes, muffins.

Breakfast.

Another chance to have a great meal at the great hall. Hattie liked eating, and she liked eating the great hall. So she often got up early so that she could come in here when it wasn't packed. It was a little later today though, and she was heading in to get some snacks. She liked snacks.

Though she saw someone she knew, and headed towards the slytherin table instead. "Hi Daisy" The blonde murmured with a smile. and the hufflepuff sat next to her.

Daisy was munching away on her second chocolate chip muffin, flicking through the pages of her copy of the Daily Prophet to try and get to the Quidditch news. She would read the other stuff too, eventually, but first came the Quidditch. Her Father refused to find out who the Falcons were hiring to coach them next season so Daisy had to rely on rumours.

She felt someone sit next to her before she even realised she had been spoken to. Setting her newspaper on the table, she turned to see who had sat next to her and smiled brightly. "Hattie!" She greeted the Hufflepuff girl with a quick hug. How are you? Did you have a nice summer?" She asked her, removing her cloak and setting it on top of her bag before getting another muffin.

Yummy.

Oliver was on his way out for a run when he passed by the Great Hall and got a whiff of food. He hadn't realized how hungry he really was until his stomach was basically screaming at him to go in and eat. Well then, his run would just have to wait.

He made his way over to the snake table and looked around for any familiar faces. Since he didn't know too many people, it didn't take long for him to realize there wasn't anyone he knew, so he took a seat near the middle and began loading his plate. No need for company when eating anyhow.

Colt stomach was growling. It felt like something was gnawing at his insides. He needed to eat something and fast before he went to any lesson. He went down to the great hall and went to the familiar slytherin table. He smiled and was relieved not a lot of people were here. Good he can eat in peace. As he sat down and piled on the food. He piled on some roast beef and some wings to start off with. He began to eat them like the caveman he is and he looked up and saw Oliver. He stopped mid chew and then didn't care. He began to eat some more and then swallowed and took a swig of pumpkin juice. "Hey man.." he nodded. "Enjoying the food?" he smirked.

Oliver had been minding his own business, eating his bowl of cereal (having already eaten the savory stuff), when he decided to do some people watching. He didn't do this often because he felt weird watching people when he didn't know he was staring at them, but he also always found it highly amusing. And it wasn't long before he saw a hufflepuff spill his pumpkin juice all over himself. He couldn't help but smile -- laughing would just be rude. Ollie was always so careful not to spill anything on himself.

He was lost in thought and people-watching the Ravenclaw table when he heard someone speak to him. He looked over to where the voice was coming from and grinned at the head boy. "Hey Colt, yeah, I never get tired of the food here. I'm gonna miss it when we leave." Not that he didn't enjoy the food at home, but food was ENDLESS here (thank you house elves), at home he never wanted to eat more than one plate.

"I can see you definitely like the food. Maybe you should've been in Hufflepuff." Ollie laughed when saying this, only meaning it as a joke. Every Hufflepuff he knew had a deep love for food, but once a snake, always a snake.

"Yeah man same. I am so gonna miss it.." Something about this food was addictive and unique. Don't get him wrong, when he goes home he loves his new york pizza and food there. Plus he could eat without being criticized too. Colt raised his eyebrows at his joke and rolled his eyes playfully. "Yeah I could have or my cousin rubbed his hufflepuff traits onto me. In that case we need to break contact." Tis some truth right there. "I mean I was so hungry my stomach was gnawing on my insides can you blame me?" he shrugged.

After finishing some of his wings and roast beef, he went for some cereal. Not a great mixture but he loved it all the same. He even observed the first years and saw how innocent and they were spilling pumpkin juice on themselves. "So man for the record I gotta ask because I am the head boy, you going to lessons this term?" he eyed him seriously and snorted with laughter. "I am just pulling your chain.." He still chuckled. "Did you check out some of the things on the Hogwarts grounds yet like the treehouse. That thing is epic." Like seriously though.

It was nice to see friends. Hattie didn't hang around with Daisy too much. But there mothers were good friends, and so Hattie knew the girl. It would be nice to spend some more time with her. Harriet needed more friends, especially outside of her own house. She was a social person, but often spent a lot of time alone doing her art. So it would be good to have some more friends.

The third year beamed, hugging her friend back, before she sat down too. She reached for some custard, and then cut a banana up into it. Bananas and custard was amazing. "Summer was amazing..." She murmured with a smile. She had loved summer, but was glad to be back at Hogwarts. "How was yours?"

Oh, nice. Bananas on custard. That was brave.

Daisy looked over at her friend as the girl prepared her food and reached for her glass. "Oh, you know. Loud." She said with a shrug, taking a sip of pumpkin juice and smiling wryly at the Hufflepuff girl. Daisy had four siblings - her house was always loud. "But good. I sort of wish it had been longer." Even if this meant the Quidditch season was almost starting, which was good.

She reached for a slice of apple pie and was halfway through munching through it before she turned back to Hattie. "Tell me, She started asking, forcefully swallowing down her food with some more juice. "What are your plans for this year?"

Ollie couldn't help but laugh again. Colt was definitely an interesting character, but in a good way. He said some weird things sometimes. Maybe lots of people were like that and Oliver was the weird one and he just hadn't been around other people enough in the past couple of years. "I definitely can't blame you. I went through the same thing. I just eat a little slower than you do." Now when it came to ice cream, that was a different situation.

Noticing Colt was doing the same thing he himself had done, Oliver smiled. "You like to eat cereal after eating your other stuff?" Ollie knew it was weird, but cereal was so amazing, he did it pretty much after every lunch and dinner. He thought it was so cool Colt was doing the same thing.

And now the head boy was asking him if he was going to all of his lessons...well this was awkward. So maybe he missed one class because his ice cream session took too long but he didn't know he'd have to fess up about it! "Well I-" Oh no. It was a joke. Whew! "You had me there for a second, man." Oliver laughed again and ran his fingers through is hair. Head Boys and Head Girls couldn't reprimand students...could they??? "I was at the treehouse the day after the feast, actually. It still looks amazing as ever. Now that's something I want at my future house." Honestly, there were a lot of things about Hogwarts he'd want at his future house.

"I think everyone eats slower than me because my mom calls me a caveman. I don't really stop to digest. I just eat, eat and eat till I feel full and then sometimes I can puke it up.." he shrugged. He knew he needed to stop but when there is good tasty food like nothing mattered to him in that moment. When Colt went to go grab his cereal, he noticed Oliver giving him a look. It wasn't really a judging look, it was just a curious one. He raised a brow and challenged him, "So I am taking you do the same thing too?" I mean then why else would he be judging him. "I mean in all fairness it is a nice desert afterwards.." he said pouring milk into his cereal.

When he asked him about lessons, his reaction was priceless. He was squirming with guilt and trying to find his way out of this conversation. He couldn't help but laugh, "Man your reaction was priceless.." he was still chuckling. "Don't be so nervous man. Just go to the classes you enjoy is all." he shrugged. Simple advice in his opinion. I mean that is what he was gonna do.

Now onto the topic of his tree house. "I know mate, I mean who knew someone could make something that big. I wish I could transport it back to my house. I could def use it to get away from my mom sometimes when she nags." He was sure Oliver could relate. All mothers bother their sons. It is so true. "I just like the grounds in general. Have you ran into any creatures when your walking around?"He knew he always did, he was just curious if there was anymore out there.

Oliver listened to everything Colt had to say, without judgement, and was genuinely surprised at the last bit of that sentence. 'Sometimes I puke it up..' But why???Ollie knew for a fact that could be good or healthy for anyone. He had seen his dog do that and his dog was always kind of miserable after. Puking was terrible...why would Colt just...eat slower? But that was none of his business. If the guy wanted to eat that fast because the food was so good, then so be it. Ollie just knew he personally would never ever do that.........probably. "Well, at least you get in all of the good food...before it betrays you." Because what else was he supposed to say to that? Really he was betraying himself though. "Oh yeah, exactly! I love eating cereal after the rest of my food. Cereal might be my favorite meal." Cereal was just so simple and easy and he could eat it without thinking much about it. Pour the cereal, pour the milk, the end.

Smiling and shaking his head a bit, Ollie said, "Yup, you got me, man." How was he supposed to know Head Boys didn't keep up with that sort of thing??? Or maybe they were supposed to and Colt didn't care because it was clear the guy loved food more than anything, and for good reason. "Yeah, that's what I'm gonna be doing, mostly. Since it's our last year, it's not like we have to take anything we hate." First year at the school was killer with all of those classes he truly disliked.

"That's what I was thinking the other day! Maybe we can use magic to build something pretty much exactly like it one day, with magic of course." Honestly, almost anything was possible with magic. Oliver really had no idea how in the world muggles got by on a daily basis. Did people just BUILD treehouses with their hands? Probably not.

Ollie tried to think about any magical creatures he had seen when not in Care of Magical Creatures, but nothing was coming to him. "Ummm...you know, I actually don't pay much attention to detail when I'm walking around..." Most of the time, his mind was somewhere else and he was just going through the motions.

Hattie beamed as she started to eat her custard. It was yummy. Hattie loved custard, and it went really nicely with Bananas. If she could eat dessert all the time she would. But she knew that wasn't healthy. So she was going to just have one bowl today.

"It's always loud in my house too" It was a little quieter now, since it was only her and Coraline living there with their parents now, but it was still loud. "Frankie and Gracie have both moved out though... so less loud which is always good" She mused with a smile. She didn't like it when it was too loud. "Oh. I wish it was longer too.... " Though she was happy to be back at Hogwarts.

She smiled, eating some more of her bananas. She figured it was kinda healthy since she had nice fruit in there. "Uh... Pass my classes?" She mused with a little laugh. "And draw some more pictures. I wanna try out my new oil paints"

"Dude like cereal could be an all around meal, I mean there is so many choices out there." He could literally have it for breakfast, lunch and dinner. "Alright dude the main question, what is your fav type of cereal. If you say the wrong one I will judge you.." he eyed him. He was kidding of course or maybe not. We shall see. "Amen to that.." he said and giving him a high five. "Which subject did you hate?" I mean Colt had some he didn't like but it was curious to know other peoples weaknesses. Yeah probably the tree house was made with a lot of advanced magic that he couldn't do. Ah well another task for when he gets older and graduates.

Colt snorted with laughter and said, "Man honestly that is me too but I do notice some creatures called Thestrals we learned about. I know I can't see them but I know they are there ya know?" It was strangely weird to see a piece of meat get eaten by an invisible force.

Colt really seemed like a great, funny guy. And so far, they seemed to have quite a bit in common. Ollie was kind of sad the two of them hadn't spoken much to each other after their first meeting (which had been kind of weird for him, plus Colt didn't even remember it...). But either way, he felt pretty cool to be chatting it up with the head boy. "Exactly!! I could eat cereal for every meal and none of them would taste the same." Although, his favorite types of cereals generally always tasted the same, but that didn't mean he didn't switch it up every so often! "Okay, I think my all time favorite cereal is a classic. FRUIT LOOPS." Oliver was such a sucker for sweets, he ate ice cream every single day, so naturally his favorite cereal would be really sweet one. At least it was fruity, right? "Did I pass the test??"

Thinking over which subjects he really hated now, he tried to break the tie between three diffferent classes. Divination, Arithmancy, and Ancient Runes. And Potions was a close second, but at least he'd gotten a bit better at that over the years. "I guess the class I hated the most would be....Arithmancy." What kind of magical person still had to take a type of math class? It was ridiculous and Ollie would never need it in his life. Nope. He knew basic regular math and that was enough for him. "But what's yours? Aren't you supposed to be good at everything?" Isn't that what the head students were? Perfect, great students. He figured that's what prefects were too, just not quite as great. Brian was a Prefect and he was the best of the best, after all.

Oliver had forgotten all about the thestrals, seeing as he never could see them, thankfully. "Oh yeah! I've always wanted to see one but I don't wanna have to see one...does that make sense?" The circumstances under which a person could see one of those magical creatures was terrible. Why couldn't they just be visible to everyone?

Sinead still didn't totally have this whole school thing figured out. Lessons weren't the problem, not in the least- especially given the need to bring muggle-borns up to speed, Sinead could have kept up with these early lessons with her eyes closed. But somehow, she hadn't really fallen into a daily routine or friendship group like some of the other first years seemed to have done.

That was why she found herself heading into breakfast alone, except for a large backpack bulging with textbooks. The Hall seemed pretty quiet at the moment- which suited her just fine. At the Slytherin table, though, she hesitated before cautiously approaching two girls who didn't look like they were too old, anyway- hopefully they wouldn't disdain her like some of the seventh years seemed to. Fourth years maybe?
"Um- sorry, would it be okay if I sat here?" she asked, eyes sweeping between the two girls as she hovered awkwardly next to the bench.

"That's weird, you know." Daisy said absentmindedly, speaking through a mouth full of bread. Sometimes she forgot she wasn't actually supposed to do that. "I mean, our Mums are the same age, right? Yet their children aren't!" Honestly, Daisy was the eldest child and she was only fifteen years old while Hattie's oldest siblings were already gone! "Although I suppose Louis has moved out already too..."She added with a shrug, getting some pumpkin juice to wash down the cake she had found midsentence.

Louis had sort of never moved in, really, and honestly, he still spent a lot of time in Falmouth, but oh well.

Pass her classes. Yes, Daisy wanted that too. The only thing worse than having to attend classes was failing them and then having to attend them - again. At least that's what Daisy thought - it hadn't really been necessary for her to reattend any class so far.

There was still time.

"Do you always bring them with you?" She asked Hattie about her oil paints.


LOOK.

A FIRSTIE! A Slytherin one too!

Grinning at the young girl that had approached them, Daisy set her glass down on the table and pushed her bag further away from her, making room for the girl. "Here, you can sit now." She told the firstie and then extended her hand. "Daisy Carden. Welcome to Hogwarts."

... wait. What if she wasn't a firstie? What if she was just small?

Oh well.

Lunch time couldn't have come soon enough. Natalia had left her last class feeling her stomach just grumbling. She had only had a quick breakfast because she came down and noticed Cal had been sitting at the table, so instead of sitting for a full one she had grabbed whatever she could on the go and left. Eating as she headed to her first class. It seemed to be her life at the moment. If she wasn't avoiding Cal she was avoiding Jacobi or Tallyn.

Placing her bag down on the ground she took her seat. Eyes moved to all the table to make sure no one was around that she was going to have to deal with possible issues with. No, good, it meant a nice happy lunch. She could handle this.

Now what were they having?

FOOD!

All those classes and homework assignments and general excitement had made him hungry. Which was why Cameron hadn't even bothered to return to his dorm to put down his school bag but had instead come straight to the Great Hall. HA! He was one of the first for lunch apparently. Their house table was pretty much empty. At least compared to the feast. There was hardly anyone there yet. Or maybe they had already eaten. Didn't really matter. He could sit any-

.........oh.

He stopped practically mid-bounce by the end of his house table. It was HER. The Head Girl. The daughter. H E R. Was this his chance?????? He hesitated for a moment before slowly making his way over to Natalia. This was it. Yes. There was no going back. "Hi." Yes, good start. Excellent. Well done. Play it cool. "Can I sit here?" He pointed to the seat next to her.

So far so good. HE GOT THIS!

She couldn't decide what she really wanted as she looked at the selections. Maybe some chicken and potatoes? Reaching for the chicken she placed a piece on her plate and was about to put the potatoes on as well when she heard a voice. Her thoughts were so into eating that she hadn't even paid much attention who was around her. at first she cringed that she could be so dumb not to keep her guard up on who was coming around her.

THEY COULD HAVE POUNCED!!!


... but no it was a first year by the looks of him. "Oh hello, sure no the seat is all yours. Potatoes?" She had been in mid-stretch to get them so she continued to grab them and place a pile on her plate.

Colt could already tell, he liked the way this dude thought. "Tis true mate. There is so many choices out there.." Too many and deciding in the cereal aisle was a nightmare. Once he heard his favorite cereal, he nodded in impressment. "Not a bad choice. I think mine would have to be Cocoa Puffs. I love the chocolate milk at the end to drink." That was just the best part. "Yeahh you passed the test. No worries. I mean if you failed, I would have had to drop my cereal bowl on your head.." he smirked. He couldn't wait to see his reaction.

He heard Oliver's least favorite subject and he agreed. "Yeah I mean who loves to do math on a daily basis. I hate that type of math. Simple math I can do like adding and subtracting and figuring out bill payments and all that. The real world stuff. Not that.." Nope not a fan. "I mean mine would be Divination. Never understood it. Never took the time and find it annoying.." He was sure the teacher was nice but the subject in itself set his teeth on edge. He snorted with Oliver's assumption. "Nah man, I am not supposed to be good at EVERYTHING. If I was then I would be a super genius and then I would be transferred out of this facility.." he joked with him of course. He did love this place. He never wanted to leave. Sadly he had to in a couple months or so. He didn't wanna think about that.

That did make sense. "Yeah mate, I mean no one really wants to see anyone being killed. I mean look at Harry Potter, did he really want to see Cedric get killed. Nahh not really." Just a little example from history. He was sort of a history nerd. "I also really fancy hippogriffs. They are pretty neat to fly on." He really wanted to go on a ride again thats for sure.

Laughing a little, Ollie nodded at Colt's statement. The chocolate milk was pretty great, though he did love drinking froot loops milk too. He could drink chocolate milk any day! And now he was talking about dropping his bowl of cereal on Ollie's head???? Honestly, what exactly were Head Boys and Girls supposed to do?! "Well, I, uh, I should learn all of your favorites so that never happens!" Because really. Even if Colt was joking, and Ollie was almost sure he was, he didn't want to take the chance.

"Exactly! Who knew magical people needed weird math anyway? Taking that class first year was kind of upsetting." Little first year Ollie had been so exciting to learn all the magical things and then there was MATH. Lame. "I'm pretty terrible at Divination too. I mean, anyone who can do it, that's cool, tell me my future and whatnot, but it's not for me." Who wanted to read tea leaves anyway? Just drink the tea and enjoy it, the end. Oh man, Oliver never thought super geniuses would go to a super smart magical school...was that a thing? "Do you think there is a school for crazy smart witches and wizards? Must not be very fun there..." He could only imagine all the fun those people weren't having. Although if they enjoyed learning and school, maybe a super smart school was bliss for them.

Colt bringing up specifics about Harry Potter kind of surprised Oliver. Of course, Ollie knew the basics about the guy, just as anyone else did, but he had forgotten all about the tri-wizard tournament and everything that went down with Potter. "You're right. Potter went through so much more though, if it wasn't Cedric, he would've seen the thestrals because of someone else." After the battle at Hogwarts, surely many of the survivors could see thestrals. That was such a horrible time. Oliver was sad he never had to go through anything like that. "You've ridden a hippogriff before???" Ollie had always wanted to but never got to.

He wasn't looking at her TOO closely right? He had manners after all. And there was this thing called personal space. He did NOT want to get on her bad side after all. He wanted her to like him. So he rocked back and forth on his heels once, eying the Head Girl, looking for some sort of resemblance to her dad. Hmm. Not that he'd seen her dad up THIS close but he'd seen pictures.

Of course. Lots and lots of-

"Hmm?" Oh. No. She'd said something. Cameron quickly sat down next to her, that much he'd caught of her answer. The rest though. He watched her for a moment, TRYING to figure out just what she could've possibly asked him but came up blank. Err. Smiling worked too right? That was always a good reply. So he did that. Hi.

So the kid was just going to stare at her? Did he have an older sibling that might have known she was in a band here? She knew some people knew her from singing, but she wasn't sure what he was doing. Her eyes darted around the Great Hall, "Cal didn't put you up to coming over here to do something did he?" Was Cal a revenge type person? He could be, she could see that. Maybe Tallyn was trying to pull something?

No that was being paranoid. Come on Franks-Mundie.


"So did you want some potatoes before I put the bowl back down?" She motioned with her hand that was still holding the spoon. If he didn't want any that was alright, but h had to say one way or the other. He was smiling at her though and she just kind of looked back at him.


"You can talk right?" Was he another Daxton that just didn't want to talk? Maybe he could just sign if he wanted some or shake his head.
