On her way to the Arithmancy classroom on the morning after the feast, Professor Vance took a detour to the Girl's Bathroom, in order to use one of the toilets to freshen herself up before visiting Imogen. After completed toilet business Laurel headed over to the sinks, glad that Myrtle hadn't decided to pay her an unexpected visit.

Isa was very careful as she opened the door to the bathroom as she had no idea if Myrtle would be actively floating around. Not seeing any signs of wailing ghosts or flooding, Isa entered the room. As she was walking across the room to the toilets, Isa noticed Professor Vance by the sinks. "Hello, Professor!" No time to stop and talk now though. Isa entered one of the stalls nearest to the door.

Heading over to the sinks to wash her hands after completed toilet business, Isa saw that the professor was still at the sinks. Turning to look at the professor while washing her hands, Isa asked, "Are you alright, professor?" She couldn't quite tell what was wrong, but it seemed that something was not right.

Laurel's hopes of her predicament to go unnoticed was squandered immediately by the arrival of a girl in badger robes that looked familiar. An extra glance at the girl's face made her certain that she had seen her come up the dais on feast night and spoken to Paul about something or other but she wanted it confirmed. "Hello, miss? Didn't you come up and speak to Prof Myers on feast night?" Professor Vance greeted semi-distractedly. Her main focus was on the hole in the sink where her necklace had disappeared.

Thoughtfully she considered her options when the girl came out from one of the toilet stalls and came over to stand at one of the nearby sinks, washing her hands. How embarrassing, the girl had probably heard her curse. Licking her lips Laurel turned her head to look at the younger girl, smiling as she did so. "Oh, I'm fine. My necklace chain broke unfortunately as i was about to wash my hands, and my necklace fell down into the sink hole, and is now probably in Moaning Myrtle's hands."

NO!

It was lunch time and Trixie had been on her way down to the Great Hall for some food but she had to make a detour to the bathrooms, because what had started as a small red lump on her chin now felt like a throbbing volcano.

She burst through the doors and skidded to a stop in front of the mirrors and peered at herself in the reflective glass. "Oh bloody hell." She gasped, her hands flying to her mouth.

She had a pimple.

And it was the size of a sickle.

After the little thing that happened at the lake the other day, Kat had taken to hiding in the girls bathroom between lessons, or her dorm. Either worked great of her. She was starting to really find this place rather enjoyable. You know for a bathroom.

She had perched herself on a sink today, so she could see everything that was going on. Watching as girls went in and out of the bathroom. She seen a Gryffindor girl come in, Trixie, was her name she thought.

Pimple!

"Yeah, they're awful aren't they?" She hated them.

Alice rushed into the girl's bathroom on the second floor.. Ugh.. Diaval had been eating something. A worm she thought, all she knew was it touched her hair and this was WAY closer than her dorm.

The redhead looked in the mirror and sighed heavily, seeing the patch of gross dirt on her head. She was probably too mean to her pet.. Honestly he was probably just trying to share. Poor feather baby.

Luckily she rarely went anywhere without a brush that she could shrink into her pockets. Running it under the sink and then through her hair she tried not to look at the patch of dirt.. She wasn't always so fussy, but this was her HAIR.

So busy on studying her reflection in the mirror, Trixie had not seen the HUfflepuff sitting on the sink. Not until she spoke.

The Gryffindor jumped a little before turning to look at her fellow fourth year. "Just a little." Actually no, a lot. "I've never had one this big before and no amount of make-up is going to cover it."

Trixie turned back to the mirror and groaned softly. Like she needed to deal with a huge pimple on her face right now. "You got any ideas?" She asked Kat.

Jumping down off of the sink, she looked her the gryffindor girls reflection so she wasn't staring right at the pimple on her face.

It was a dosy of a bump. She had never seen one that big before. She wouldn't tell the girl that though. "Make up really isn't the best thing to get hid of it again. It only covers it up, you know." Though covering it up for now would work, for now. She could always try to cover it up.

Now if she had it in her bag, which it was possible that she did. "Let me see...Mums a healer." So she was always sending her stuff for her face, The fourth year dug around her bag. She found it, a little case. She tossed it on the sink. 'Maybe something in here." Hopefully.

He was a man boy on a mission!

Ever since dad had read him a picture book about Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets, Derf had had the dream of visiting the not-so-secret chamber himself. Partly because he was curious as to how the drawings in the book reflected the actual chamber itself...aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaand he was kind of sort of hoping to maaaaaaaaybe find a spare basilisk tooth...or skin...laying around down there. Which he knew was a bit of a stretch, but this WAS Hogwarts were literally ANYTHING was possible!

It was for these reasons, and more, that Derf ever so slooooooooooooowly pushed open the door to the girls' loo and stepped inside. He was going to be SUPER quiet and not make a peep and just nonchalantly make his way over to THE sink and ----

"WOOOOOOOOOOOOOW!"


So much for being quiet.

Now, the first year did not see the world the same way as everyone else...but that did not mean that something beautiful looked any less so than it did to anyone else. He knew a pretty color when he saw it and her hair was really REALLY pretty.

"Did you know haff phoenix hair," he squeaked, now totally close enough to reach out and touch it. Which he did. Because preeeeeeeeeeeeeeeetty.

Derf was nodding eagerly in reply and about to elaborate further on the subject when she asked him a rather silly question. Well, silly in that he was very much aware that this was the girls' loo. "Yup. Precis-s-sely why I am here!" he chirped in response. How else was he supposed to find the Chamber of Secrets?

"I'm Derfael, but my friend-s-s call me Derf." Hi. Could he please touch your hair? "Oh...no. I actually am looking for the Chamber of S-Secrets-s." And he hadn't planning on saying anything. Not in English at least. Although his parsletongue left much to be desired.

Myrtle was hiding in the loo. Ever since Peeves and Miffy got married and adopted the poltergeist kiddo, the ghost felt more and MORE lonely than usual. Ah, why she'd never find her true love? She kind of hoping that Harry Potter or Cedric Diggory would be a ghost so they could be together.... FOREVER. But that's just her dream.

*BAWLS*

Coming out from her hiding, she spotted a young BOY was in the GIRL'S LOO. HOHOHOHOHO!!!

"THERE'S A BOY IN GIRL'S LOO!!!!" Myrtle SHOUTED. "PROFESSOR!!!!! THERE IS A BOY IN GIRL'S LOO WANTING TO PEEP THE GIRLS HERE!

Apparently there was a tea cart of some sort by the Arithmancy classroom, and though Rosalyn hadn't had time to explore it earlier because of other things, she was free now. Plus was she on,y needed to go up one flight from her office; even if the tea was amazing, she would be too lazy to go up seven as was the case with the bakery.

As she was making her way down the corridor - in fact she was right in front of Moaning Myrtle's bathroom - she heard said ghost making a commotion.

"Thank you, Myrtle. What's going on?" she said as she opened the door and stepped inside. Almost immediately she spotted the boy in question. Now she had a feeling as to WHY the boy was here, but she was going to give him the benefit of the doubt since that was her nature. Besides he was a First Year and still new. "Did you get lost, Mr Ashburry-Hawthorne?"

Alice thought Derf was a little cutie! Firsties.. It felt like forever since she had been one. Even though it wasn't that long ago... But in her mind it had been AGES. "The pleasure is all yours, i'm sure." She joked, mostly to herself. But if the kid got the joke then good for him.

"You're going into the Chamber of Secrets? Do you know Parsletongue?" Cause didn't you need a little bit of that to open it? This kid was something else..



Merlin.. how was running into a BOY in the bathroom less annoying than a ghost that Alice knew was going to be there? "Oi, Myrtle.. Calm down. He just wants into the Chamber of secrets..He's not being a creep." This kid was her FAN now. And she had to protect her fans. "Why don't you go back to crying in your toilet or something."



'As if the drama couldn't get more dramatic it seemed as if on queue or by the design of some puppet-master-esque-writer a Professor happened to be in earshot of Myrtle's highly dramatized screeching' Alice thought to herself.

The fourth year turned to the Professor. "He's not lost.. He's just looking for the Chamber of Secrets. I decided to show him where it was!" So maybe half of it was a lie.. But this kid clearly needed help. Myrtle was gonna make him look like some kinda creeper. "We're doing quite fine in here on our own, Professor.. I'm sure you have something more important to do." Did that come off rude? She wasn't exactly sure.. but she didn't exactly try to make it NOT rude..oops?

"Not yet," he replied to the pretty phoenix haired Gryffindor with a bounce to his step. Yes, somewhere in the back of his head he KNEW that parsletongue was not something that you learned really...but mum had raised him believing that anything was possible sooooooooooo ANYTHING, HERE HE COMES!

OH OH OH OH!

DID SHE KNOW WHO SHE WAS?! Well...no...that was a sill question because of COURSE she knew who she was.

"YOU'RE MOANING MYRTLE!" he chirped excitedly. "I haff been wanting to meet you! Could you...could you...could you...fly right frough me or somefing!?" Holy flaming salamanders he was crossing off SO much on his Hogwarts bucket list already this term! But peep the girls? What did that even MEAN (although at first he thought she had said PEEING which he wasn't doing, obviously)? His curious blue eyes moved to the phoenix haired Gryffindor seeing if maybe SHE could explain what that meant because he was kind of clueless.

But that did not seem to be on the older girl's mind, although he was appreciative of her explaining to the ghost his purpose here. "You died here," he said bluntly. "Can you tell me which tap leads to the entrance?" He was even batting his eyelashes all adorably at her. "Fen I will ---"

And then the History of Magic professor appeared (Merlin that was fast) and he ruffled his hair in frustration. But once again it was phoenix haired Gryffindor to the rescue explaining everything and he simply nodded along at her words.

Why had neither Myrtle nor the professor acknowledged phoenix hair girl though? That was mean.

"I just need to know where the entrance is-s-s and fen I won't be in the girls' loo anymore," he added with an innocent sincerity. See? Problem solved! Soooooooooo....someone point him in the right direction? "It's on my Hogwarts bucket lis-s-st, professor," he added in earnest. "Experiencing a piece of Hogwarts history firs-s-st hand."

Half true. He had other aspirations in mind while actually down in the Chamber but mum said he was really good at tugging on people's heartstrings so he was trying here.

Rosalyn's eyes shifted to Miss Lupin, taking in what the girl had to say. So it WAS how she suspected it to be. That Chamber was a huge studen attraction but it was just not safe enough for them to travel to unsupervised, leaving alone the fact that boys weren't even SUPPOSED to be in the girls bathroom in the first place. Plus there was the whole parseltongue thing.

"Unless you two know how to talk to snakes - which I highly doubt - it is not possible for you to open the entrance." It was a rare ability, and one that Harry Potter had only possessed because he had been influenced by Lord Voldemort. "Beyond that fact, I can't allow it because it's too dangerous. A few students travelled down there about six years ago when it was opened, and two of them were carried off to the Forbidden Forest by acromantulas." The creatures might be thrilling to some of the students, but that didn't change the fact that they were incredibly dangerous.

Rosalyn hated disappointing students, but it was part of her job. Could this whole thing be over with and Mr Ashburry-Hawthorne be on his way?

But....but but but buuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuut....

"But professor," he whined softly, blue eyes darting around the girls' loo for a moment. "Isn't fere a treaty in place now with the acromantula colony?" It had made the Prophet and everything that whole invasion. Mum and dad had talked about it for weeks at the dinner table when they thought he wasn't paying attention. "And and and mum told me that a profes-s-ssor had a les-s-s-son down IN the Chamber of S-Secrets...HISTORY OF MAGIC!" Although now he was curious about those two students that HAD found their way down there. "Were boff of fose s-s-students parstletongues?!" Because THAT information was in the Prophet somewhere...and he could find archives in the library he was sure...and then he could get names...and then he could owl them...and then he could ask ever so nicely and include a chocolate frog as a bribe asking them to teaching him parsletongue properly!

Alice siiiiiiiighed deeply. "Professor Newton, he's just a curious kid. He's not being creepy or anything.. and if someone kicked Harry Potter out of this bathroom than the wizarding world would be a mess. What's so wrong about indulging his curiosity? If we can't open the chamber then you have nothing to worry about and if other girls so up i'll kick him out?" Would that be satisfactory? She placed her hand on the Derf's shoulder. Maybe things could be chill now?

Students would be the death of her. Honestly.

Rosalyn loved them like the children that she never had, and it wasn't in her nature to be harsh, but she just could not give in completely.

IF she did a lesson on the Chamber at some point maybe it would be explored. Big whopping MAYBE there. Of course Darfael was right about the treaty, but that didn't change the fact that it could be dangerous down there. Acromantulas were not the only creatures out there. There would have to be discussions had before it was even possible.

"How about I show you the entrance to the Chamber?" as in the snake on the sink. Rosalyn knew what it was like to be curious - as she was herself - and that might make him feel better. Without waiting for a reply, she was by the sink in moments, examining it to see if she could locate the door. It really could be hard to find even though she had seen it before.

This was getting ridiculous. It had been nearly a week and no sign of the three boys who'd gone missing and well it could have very well been LONGER than a week and maybe just no one had noticed them. How much longer would they have to wait until they could use what they'd been practicing? What was even the point in practicing if they weren't allowed to use it?

Turning to face her current prefect escort, she frowned a moment when she realized it was Tenacius this time. "Do you need to escort me into the loo too? Or am I at least allowed to use that alone?" Yes she might have spoken a bit tartly, but she was rather bitter about this whole curfew and escort thing.

Well this is awkward....

Listen, Tenacius is a normal teenage boy who would've seized any opportunity to spy on girls to find out whatever secret ritual it is that requires them to troop to the bathroom in groups. So this is like stroke of luck right?

Well if the girls are aware that a BOY is in the bathroom, that kinda puts a damper on it. Mostly because of the screaming. Or getting hostile. Like maybe right now

"I'm pretty sure you're fully competent in using the loo by yourself Skylar." the Curly Top replied with a most gracious smile on his face "But I'm not sure if you're aware, but the other students were going about their own business when they went missing, so I dunno.... have you ever thought what would happen if one second you were standing in the toilets and the next second you're like-- poof!-- and no one knew you went poof because hey you were in the toilets and your ONE Prefect escort was not?"

Genuine face of concern here. Or maybe that was like a look of wait do girls ever stand in toilets?

Brent paused in front of the entrance to the girl's bathroom. Ummm, NOPE. He was NOT going to be the first person to go inside. Skylar was hopefully coming along, and since she was a girl, SHE should probably go inside first. Brent had never talked with Myrtle, but from what he'd heard, the girl would fly off the handle at the least little thing.

No way was he getting the brunt of that.

So he paused in front of the entrance and awkwardly shifted his body weight from one foot to the other while he waited for Skylar to show up. He sighed. He had a feeling going on a ghost hunt to find the poltergeists was not going to end well. He could at least hope that he made it out alive. Glitter in his hair was the least of his worries.

Well Brent wasted like NO time at all in heading down the moving staircases and it was all Skylar could do to just keep moving. Fortunately she was relatively quick with her steps and made it down not too much after the older snake.

Except he was stopped outside the bathroom? His eagerness seemed to get the best of him or did he get thrown out of the bathroom already? She didn't hear any noise in there and Myrtle didn't take too kindly to intruders so she gathered she would have heard the ghost if he'd gone in already.

Stepping up beside him and staring at the bathroom door, she smiles coyly, "You get cold feet about going into a girl's bathroom? No worries, it's not that different from a boys." and she wasn't going to explain about how she knew about a boys bathroom either.

Besides time was of essence so without further ado, she pushed opened the door gently. "Myrtle?" Hopefully she was in a good mood today.

Kane was sort of excited to see Myrtle, despite the fact that this was a SUPER serious situation and Abey and Simon could be Monster Chow soon. He'd never actually interacted with any of the other ghosts in the castle (besides the Fat Friar, but he was his house ghost, so of COURSE he'd talked to him) but he had heard plenty of stories about this girl. She was apparently a fan of the dramatics.

Hopefully she'd realize what a dire situation this was and skip all that girly nonsense and help them. Unless she was hoping Abey and Simon would join her in the bathroom...

NOPE. Not even going to THINK that.

He paused as the Slytherin girl opened the door, and he peeked inside, stepping a foot or two into the doorway and motioning for Brent to follow. She was right, it was just a BATHROOM. It was who LIVED in the bathroom that made him nervous...
