"Do I strike you as the type of person who gives up easily? " she asked as she stepped into the office and began looking around. Was there anything she could TOUCH? Something old and breakable maybe? Hehe.

So she definitely wasn't sitting yet, she was too busy looking at everything, so not going to the chair yet! "Nicolas Umbridge. I don't actually know what he does, except for stuff in Knockturn Alley, " Other than being an awesome dad, that is.

"What did you do before you came here to teach? Know anything about Cursebreaking? " Because Runes, duh.

He had hoped she would be but looks like he would be wrong. Viktor leisurely walked over to his desk and took a seat. No need to stand for a student unless they wanted a demonstration.

"It does sound familiar and how do you not know what he does. Didn't you say he was your father"

Considering how much it seemed like she liked talking. He was amazed it took this long to get to his history. Sigh.

"Curse Breaking in Russia. I think that answerd both questions there"

Grin.

Dora was still busy inspecting every inch of the Professor's office. There was some interesting stuff here, for sure. And the Gryffindor took care to touch as much of his things as possible. Just because CURIOUS.

"He is. I don't know what he does because he tells me to mind my own business. So I do." CLEARLY he was the only person she listened to. "All I know is we have money and he goes to Knockturn Alley a lot. What else do I need to know?" Really. What else? She knew what her mum had done prior to her death had left money to them... and old family money, too. The rest was fuzzy and Dora didn't like to bother her pops too much.

"Where in Russia? Was it super cold? What made you realize you wanted to be a Curse breaker?" She was full of questions, you see. The girl was also very happy that she had found someone that was willing to humor her for a while.

He found it really hard to believe she doesn't know what her dad does for a living. But its not his problem or really relevant to anything they were talking about. Or maybe they should have continued with talking about the mysterious father. Since she was now continuing with the interview.

"All over. Its alright. Depends on time of year. After researching in Cairo and wanting some adventure. Now is there anything you want to know about Runes because if not this interview is over"

There were only so many questions one could take about his life before he did want to talk anymore.

Especially to students.

It wasn't too hard to believe... considering her dad was always around when she was home from school, right? Like she never had a go to work with dad day, either. But now that it was in the forefront of her mind, she made a mental note to owl him later and ask. Hmmm. Why had she never been curious before.

"Sounds awesome. You're alright, Professor." Meaning that Dora Umbridge approved! Which was something, since she tended to judge the others so harshly. Not that this dude or any of the others cared a bit, but it meant something to her. And with that, Dora stopped touching all of his things and turned to smile at the man. "Nah. I love Runes and I look forward to your classes. Sorry I missed some... I was ill. But, I would like to ask you not to give out magically tainted food if you would be so kind." Seemed like some of the other Profs got a kick out of that and if he was to remain her new favorite he needed to refrain from following that particular trend.

Giving the man one last smile she headed toward the door since she had never taken a seat to begin with. "Have a nice day, sir. And... thanks." For humoring her. Heh.

Torrance had scoped out the Floor that Sack O Love Sokolov's classroom and office were on. He continued to pace back and forth on it until he spotted the Ancient Runes professor finally leave the office. Not hesitating the Lion moved quickly to the waiting room in front of his door. Torrance Tested the handle and Whoa...was it unlocked? The handle turned with so much ease the Lion was sure the handle would come completely off. he stood and starred at the handle of the now open office door and almost let himself get distracted by his reflection in the handle.

WHAT WAS HE FIVE!? He couldn't get easily distracted by his distorted reflection anymore like that!?

So he slipped into the Office unnoticed for now. He looked around the office and marveled at the Professor's sword collection. He had come in here to snag some kind of food for Genevieve Tate's Birthday. As that's what he promised her. Food specifically off of Sokolov.

Tory hurried over to the Professor's Desk and quickly scanned it over seeing if the man had left something edible on it. There! Licorice Snaps! How lucky!! He began just piling the snacks into his coat pocket. With a quick shrug, Torrance just swiped the whole bowl instead and dumped the contents entirely into his pocket.

He would have been finished here and gone if one more item hadn't caught his eye. He turned his attention to the small box sitting on the desk as well and set the empty bowl down. He moved to then take the lid off of it.

What he saw was something pretty cool.

A dagger. Torrance began to think about picking it up and inspecting it closer. But some kind of Ravenclaw defense mechanism activated in the back of his Gryffindor mind. He suddenly began questioning consequences of lifting it. The man was an Ancient Runes Professor for Merlin's sake. what if he picked up the dagger and then a giant boulder dropped from the ceiling and chased him down the hall.

That would attract too much attention and could also alert Sokolov that his office was sneaked into.

Torrance had come and received what he came her for. Genny would appreciate these then yes. The Lion then dashed out of the office. Door still open the bowl empty and the lid stiff of the box withe dagger in it.
