Welcome to your third duel!
This is a key stepping stone into determining your placement in the Hex Tournament so please take this seriously. A list of spells to use can be found HERE while the cost of physical actions can be found below.
Please note that these actions take away from the Fatigue Points section. Also note that these are only taken into account if you're attacking or avoiding a spell. If you're simply moving around the hall, these points don't need to be considered.

Professor Hirsch will be present to oversee the duels and will only interfere if the duel ends or any foul play or unsportsmanship-like behaviour is displayed.
Please remember to adhere to the Dueling Club rules, the DADA rules as well as the SS Site rules.

OOC: This duel must be completed by the 20th of November by 11:59pm GMT. You're required to make a minimum of 3 posts each in that time.
If you have any questions, please don't hesitate in contacting me about them or posting them in the Dueling Club Rules thread. If you don't think you can post during that time or you don't think you can start/finish your duel, please let me know as soon as possible and we'll try and work something out.
Remember to keep a track of your points both in the title of your post (before any spells have been cast) and at the end of the post (after your charrie has cast a spell). Please refer to this post if you're confused as to how this works or, simply, come to me. Include as much information as you can about the spell in the spoiler section at the bottom of your post, including the directionality of the spell.
Also remember to be as realistic as possible with your charrie's age and ability.
First person mentioned in the thread title is the first person to start off the duel.

It seemed to have become a tradition, at least in Rula's mind, to have a duel against Rooney each term. And it was a tradition she definitely looked forward to too. Dueling against him was always lots of fun and super challenging, and she was feeling extra confident today after winning her previous duel this term. No way was she going to lose to Rooney like last term.
Well, hopefully. She was trying not to get herself overly confident - dueling with a big head was not a good idea at all.
Focus, Rula.
With a bright grin as she stepped onto the dueling arena, she bowed to her opponent and took the necessary steps as usual - and then quickly sent off her spell at the Ravenclaw, "Flipendo Duo!"

It was nice to duel someone you were used to. Rooney's nerves were absent as he stepped up to face Rula once more. He bowed, gave her a smile and stepped back into his opening stance. He had a respect for her wand talent, and was often in awe when he watched her duel other times. So, yeah, Rooney was cool with this set up. And glad that it wasn't Blaise or Charlotte he was up against. Because, honestly, he couldn't be bothered to deal with the pain he ended up in.
At least Rula didn't try to hack his limbs off. Yet, anyway???
He'd barely settled into position when he was thrown back off his feet, the fact he had been bouncing eagerly had probably helped him because he was back up in no time and still grinning over in her direction. "Not bad. Could have done better." Kidding. Or was he? Hah. Wand at the ready, Rooney sent a tactical "Auribus Aquta!" her way.
BOOM BOOM BOOM.

Well, maybe. It wasn't the most powerful spell ever, of course, but Rula tended to like starting off pretty simply a lot of the time so-
...That was a spell that just hit her, wasn't it?
Merlin's beard, talking still distracted her sometimes. She needed to work on that.
She felt her ears changing, though without a mirror, she couldn't see what they'd changed into. Hopefully nothing too ridiculous-looking?
"Not bad yourself," she replied with a grin of her own, before firing off a Cheering Charm and then a couple seconds after an "Ebublio!"

While new duelling partners added in the challenge of unfamiliarity, this duel was nice because not only were the two comfortable with each other, it also gave him the chance of seeing how they had improved against each other. There was no sense of complacency here, which he was glad to see. It was the only risk with constantly putting the same people against each other.
Something else he was glad to see? Backchat. And plenty of it.
Hirsch had to hold back a snort as he watched the duel continue, but not for as long as he'd hoped. He'd managed to shoot an amused smile at Miss Botros's elf-like ears but before long, the shield was up, saving Rooney from being trapped in a bubble with a large, cheesy grin plastered on his face. You're welcome, Bronwyn.
"Excellent!" he called, making his way towards the pair, "Really. I usually worry that people would get complacent when they're up against someone they're used to duelling against but I'm glad that wasn't the case here." Really. "Now, as close of a duel as that was, there can only be one winner here so........"
Dramatic pause, anyone?
"Congratulations, Miss Botros. You take the lead today. And well done on an excellent duel, Mr Bronwyn."
