Girls' Dorms

http://i1226.photobucket.com/albums/...psbnvjkbso.png
Thanks to Joel/Charely Potter

Along the climb from the common room, multiple doors are situated off the stairs. Each student has their name on a door. Students of the same age are housed together.

Every dorm room is equipped with a centrally-located stove, to keep you all warm. Each of you will have your own four poster bed, flanked by a set of windows and space for storing personal belongings, and a mirror in case you need to watch yourself groom. On the window sill is a jug of water and a cup, supplied and freshened daily by the elves. There is a place for your trunk and individual wardrobes to hang your clothing. Space isn't an issue, thanks to the many charms.

*OOC: please note that changes to room assignments may change based on bios posted in the 'Gryffindor Introductions' and Character Biographies threads. Have an IC complaint about your dorm assignment? We are sure that Professor Newton would love to hear it as your Head of House

Any character listed that does not have a (username) is a non-playable character and entirely up to you (and your IC dormmates) to make up their personality and habits if you so desire.

Despite there only being two (to three) rooms per year listed above, IC there are obviously more rooms in the tower. This is just meant to help create more of an IC feel for you as to your character's housing situation.

If you see anyone that is missing or any mistakes, please notify your Head of House.

MALES BEWARE! You may not enter the girl's dormitories. Even though Professor Newton can't be there to physically stop you, if you TRY to climb the stairs they will turn to a slide and you will tumble to the bottom.

3-1

Normally Trixie would be exhausted after a long train ride, a huge feast and a welcoming party, but not this night. No, tonight she was still wide awake and extremely hyped up.

She made her way up the stairs, still trailing glitter behind her as she walked. Her friend must have dumped a whole bucket on her head, at least she would never get lost. All one had to do was follow the sparkly trail and they would find her.

Oooh look! The door to their dorms now said third years. Trixie felt a small thrill of excitement run up her spine. She was a teenager now. Of course she was not sure that meant just yet but she was excited nonetheless.

She entered the room, made a beeline for her bed and flung herself right into the middle of it. "Hurry up Liv." She called out as she kicked off her shoes and pulled off her robes.

Trixe wanted to hear ALL the details.

Ugh, it had been a very WONDERFUL feast, filled with many potatoes and puddings. NOT TO MENTION the House party afterwards. Dramatic sigh. She felt as though she couldn't eat another bite even if she tried to force the food in. And, like with any self respecting girl, with her belly full, it was almost time to crash hard into the nearest soft surface. Her bed, hopefully.

...but even suffering a food hangover, Liv's excitement over spending actual time with Trixe couldn't be staunched. She'd had her Roo all summer, true enough ... but Rooney couldn't replace her BFF. In fact, she'd been missing most of her friends this summer. That included Char, Chlo, Blaise ... even Bentley. It was just a busy, BUSY summer for her. Between WADA, ballet, family vacations and obligations (thanks, mum), there just wasn't enough time. Could they maybe get an extra month next summer? Two (and a half?) didn't feel like enough time...

Floating into their dorm, the blonde ignored her own bed and crashed right into Trixe's, struggling to kick her bedroom shoes off with the least amount of effort. If this wasn't the perfect metaphor for her life... Also, bedroom shoes because Liv had snuck away to change into pajamas before she actually went to the party. Her robes and uniform were just so confining.

"I'm forever changed, Trixe." DRAMATIC.

Merlin, she had missed her friend. Trixie decided that next summer they would have to spend at least some time together during the holidays, because she didn't think she could spend another holiday with her father and whatever ditsy twenty something he managed to bring home.

With her shoes, robes and clothes now on the floor, Trixie sat in the middle of her bed in just a tank top and shorts and watched in amusement as her BFF flopped down beside her.

"Is that so?" She asked with a grin on her face. Her best friend's antics were not new to Trixie. "While I want to ask how you went at WADA and ballet, that can wait." She bounced a little on the bed, looking expectantly at Livvy. "What happened with Rooney?"

Like a daisy flower seeking light, Liv scooted closer to Trixe; practically begging for the snuggles. It was important to get those, because ... sigh. It was just so complicated right now. AND SO LIFE AND DEATH. MOST IMPORTANT EVENT TO HAPPEN TO HER YET, to be honest.

If she had more energy to expel, Liv might've flailed around a bit. "He snogged me, and I snogged back .... but he's still got a girlfriend." That was it. Plain and simple. And she wasn't one to be stank about girls and such. Minnie wasn't that bad. She was nice enough, but.... "....It gets confusing sometimes, because everything feels different and I'm not sure how to act."

Trixie knew that she was waaaay out of her depth here. She knew NOTHING about snogging boys. Heck she didn't even look at boys that way. Maybe there was something wrong with her? It seemed a lot girls her age seemed to be snogging boys, but she simply couldn't even imagine it and she could feel herself pulling a face at just the thought.

But this wasn't about her right now. Her bestie needed her and Trixie immediately dragged her friend into a comforting hug. "Did you guys like talk to each other?" Or did they just spend all that time with their lips locked together? "I mean did he let on that he preferred you over...her?" Seriously if the boy was just stringing Livvy along then the young Lioness was going to punch his lights out. Permanently.

"Gosh Livvy, it sounds like you really like this guy." If she didn't know how to act around him and all. "Would you like me to get rid of the competition for you? That way your path will be clear." Jokes of course. Trixie thought the ,moment could do with a joke. She hated seeing her friend sooooo...out of sorts.

....but hugs. Liv really liked those a lot, yes.

"No, we've not talked about anything yet, and I'm....kinda nervous about that." It was said very quietly, almost to herself, but of course Trixe could still hear her. It wasn't too muffled or anything. "You're my BFF but he's my best friend." There was definitely a difference and if you didn't know the difference, well ... they were just different. That was it. "I don't like thinking about anyone picking someone over another person. It's gross, Trixe." And something she'd been struggling with among her friendship circle since First Year. So, that was kinda not a situation she wanted to be thinking about right now.

Snuggling her face down into her friendsie's shirt, the blonde siiiiiiiighed extra dramatically. With loads of inflections stretching out the sounds of said sigh. "She's not that bad ... I mean, I don't think she is. I don't really know her that well." SIGH. flop. sigh some more. "It wouldn't mean as much to me if it was a thing another person influenced. It has to be his decision." Free will was definitely a thing, and Merlin's socks, Chlo never shushed up about it. So, it was clearly important, if not scary. Ugh, as a Gryffindor, Liv did NOT like feeling scared of anything. It went against her personality, and her general fearlessness.

"It's weird liking him. Like that. I didn't before, but then suddenly, it just happened." Whiplash. She had whiplash.

So they had spent most of their time just snogging. Trixie wasn't going to judge because she had never been in a situation like the one her friend was going through and probably wouldn't for a very long time either. "I'm sorry Liv. This stuff is all new to me." She hadn't meant to gross her friend out with that comment.

"But you guys do need to sort this out. You can't keep snogging each other, especially since he DOES have a girlfriend." Trixie tightened her hold on her friend and even kissed the top of her head. "It's not fair to you and it's especially not fair to his girlfriend." Even though she didn't have a boyfriend or was in any sort of relationship, Trixie knew that she would be upset if she found that someone close to her was doing something behind her back.

Trixie pushed her friend back a little so that she was able to look the other girl in the eye. "You need to suck it up and talk to him Liv and accept whatever it is he says to you. If you guys were meant to be then you will be." She probably sounded reasonable and mature but she was merely copying what her mother said to one of her friends months ago.

for Alice!

Genny came back from outside with her hair messy from flying for so long on her broom. She had a wide grin and a relaxed face, though. With her temper, she always found comfort in flying and playing Quidditch, wither herself mostly because all those who played Quidditch were older and refused to let her play with them. Hmph. Who needed friends here anyway. Nick, Davie and Sam were enough for a lifetime.

Her clothes were a bit dirty from playing on the pitch, so she walked into her dorm, pulled the curtains around her bed shut and started changing into her comfy PJs.

Alice was sitting on her bed looking over a book. "Quidditch again?" She said stating the mess her dorm-mate had left behind. Alice didn't mind Genny. She wasn't rude or too much of a mess in Alice's opinion. "Is it getting cold out?" Because she wasn't sure she was ready for the cold again already. But alas, it's Scotland and therefore constantly cold.

"No, just flying today." Genny answered happily. The curtains were pulled back and the third year flopped back on her bed, crossing her legs while she was bouncing. Alice was behind a book but still obviously interested in a small conversation. "Not really. Or maybe because I was sweating so much." Her clothes remained sprawled on the floor where she took them off, she'd tidy them up later.

"What are you reading?"

"Fun! I haven't flown in a bit." She looked to the book and placed a bookmark down and then looked back up to Genny. "Hmm It won't take too long to get cold. It's always cold here." She liked it and didn't. The redhead knew she couldn't take too much sun due to her pale skin. So the cold weather wasn't the worst.

"It's a book about birds, an old one. I wanna teach my raven to talk." She gestured to Diaval who made a clicking noise in his beak, one that to a raven meant that he loved Alice and considered her family. She knew what it meant. "I figure witches have been associated with Ravens for a long time. Maybe they knew something i don't."

Bed.

Oh, her lovely bed. Noelle went into her dorm and crashed on her perfectly made bed. Much thanks to the lovely house elves of Hogwarts. She was almost too tired to change out of her clothes and into her pajamas. But, she had to.

She would be back for you, bed.
Noelle groaned and reluctantly got out of bed and started pulling her clothes off and changing into her pajamas. She would wash up in the morning. Pulling her hair into a ponytail, she jumped back in bed and gave a little grin.

Dora wandered back into the dorms wrapped in a big robe, hair in a towel, think woolen socks on. Yas. Now all she wanted was to climb in her bed and forget the day ever happened. Ever. Things had gotten so out of control. Lol.

Glancing at the bed nearest hers she saw Noelle was still awake... Noelle who had become such great friends with Ava lately. The Ava that was so hateful to Dora any chance she got. Which was weird... considering Dora seldom spoke to Ava at all. But teenaged girls were awful, so it didn't surprise her much.

"Good night, Noelle, " she said as she pulled the curtains to on one side of her bed. She didn't like ANY light coming through when she was trying to sleep. But the side to Noelle was still open at the moment.

IF Noelle chose to speak to Dora, she would engage in the conversation tonight.

Hearing the door open again, Noelle peeked her eyes open to see Dora heading for bed. She didnt realize that there were others awake. She'd come in quite late.

"Good night Dora.' Noelle said while watching her. She kept the side to her bed open, so Noelle could see in. She turned on her side. " Hey Dora?" She called out to her, her mind wondering about things.

Ava and her were friends. But that didnt mean Dora and her couldnt be. They used to be.

Dora was reminded earlier thought... about people not noticing her. It was really rather ridiculous how often people didn't notice her comings and goings. Heh. She was typically out late and coming in at ridiculous times. Especially now that she and Maia had broken up. More free time to go out and wander the castle.

And just as the blonde sat up to pull the curtains on that particular side... Noelle spoke again. "Yeah?" Were they going to converse after all? How fun.

ChanceCoeur 10-11-2016 01:33 AM

Noelle was laying on her side watching her. She didn't know when was the last time she had been in the dorms when Dora had been here. Noelle was usually in and out. Training rooms, potions, Noah's dorm. So Noelle hadn't gotten the chance to catch up with her.

".... uh.... nothing. Just miss you." She offered a smile to her roommate. "ypu alright then?" Noelle wanted to make sure. She didn't know what was going on with Dora at all. .....

Erindipity 10-11-2016 01:49 AM

Dora tended to keep to herself anyway, so not being noticed was never a big deal to her. Well, that was a lie... it used to bother her a LOT, but now, not so much. It was really useful when one was out past curfew, ya know. But she really didn't spend too much time in the dorms either. Between hanging out with Corb, studying, and exploring... and not being particularly keen on some of their housemates, she didn't stay in the dorms much.

Dora could feel her face soften just a bit as Noelle spoke, though. "Well I have been around." Dora's way of saying she missed Noelle too. But the next caused her to furrow her brow. A shrug slid off of her shoulders. "Why wouldn't I be? " And if she wasn't... why would she want to talk about it? None of her friends really inspired her to share personal information.

ChanceCoeur 10-12-2016 12:44 AM

Noelle hadn't purposely been ignoring Dora, though, she got the feeling that's what adorable thought. Noelle was just mainly about her studies. She had so much training that it was hard to get time in, even for Ava. But it was good that Ava, Mel, Az were all part of some of her training. She caught up with them then.

Noelle gave a small smile though, knowing that Dora was saying she missed her too. But then she saw it harden and was confused as to what she said that made Dora clam up to her again. "I was just asking. Just seeing how you are." No other meaning besides that.

Erindipity 10-12-2016 01:11 AM

"Well I'm fine." She didn't need anyone checking on her! She was always more than capable of fixing her own problems, you see. Not to mention, the fact that she didn't particularly trust anyone anymore... THAT was why her face hardened and she clammed up.

"I guess... I am just going to head to sleep now." Yep. Done with the talking. Seems like Noelle was more than happy with her new bestie... the one that treated one of her other friends like poo. Totally fine. But hey, at least they had tried? Pulling her other curtains closed, she sighed heavily... Knowing her dorm mate could hear her. She was just so over trying to make things work when she felt like it was too late.

ChanceCoeur 10-12-2016 01:35 AM

She was fine. ..... That's what dora had said, but she surely didn't seem it. Noelle gave a nod at her, not commenting on the fact that she didn't think she was fine. But, if Dora wasn't anything... she was fierce and strong.

"Oh..... okay." Noelle said softly. She didn't quite know what she had said to set Dora off. "Sleep good Dora." She added politely. She really did have some Hufflepuff in her. She took after her mom with that.

Erindipity 10-12-2016 01:53 AM

If she was being totally honest with herself... she didn't know what had set her off. Maybe it was just the question of whether she was alright? Maybe it was just her own thoughts that had done her in, really. No one seemed to be too concerned with whether she was alright when she had been in the hospital... And really... she hadn't told everyone. Being a teenager was actually REALLY hard, okay.

"I was there for you when you needed me... and I feel like no one was there for me when I needed them. No one but Sam. It just hurts really bad, Noelle. You lot all abandoned me. " Her voice was slightly muffled as she spoke, though... she wasn't even sure Noelle heard it all.

Noelle heard it. But she had no idea that Dora had been in the hospital... or that anything had happened to Dora at all. Noelle had been in the dark about it all. So when she heard that, she was a little puzzled. She sat in the dark, the candle light dancing around them as she tried to piece things together but not being able to.

But this was the problem... that she didn't know. If they were friends... she should have known. Friends meant a great deal to Noelle.

Getting up, she opened Dora's curtain and slipped in her bed with her. Laying on her side, she faced Dora. "I am so sorry. I don't know what I've missed but.... im here now." She was trying to make it up. "What's going on?" She was glad Sam had been there for her. At least someone was.

Dora had literally been gone from school for aN entire MONTH. Like... the whole time. Not just there in the day and not sleeping in the dorms, or vice versa. Professor Newton had been bringing her the homework she had been missing. He and Sam and her family had been the only people to even reach out. No one had noticed she was gone for a whole month. How was that for validation?

Crap. That's what it was.

But as Noelle slipped into her bed she buried her face in a nearby pillow to be sure she wasn't seen with tears in her eyes. Nope. Not Dora. She didn't cry anymore, ya know. Not ever!

"I got Vanishing Sickness. Whole arm disappeared. Spent a month in Mungo's. Me and my girlfriend broke up. I am not so sad anymore... and you abandoned me for different friends. I always counted on you to be here for me. The others are too caught up in themselves... but you were actually a great friend. I also ran away over summer hols. I have been grounded for... forever. " Muffled, muffled, muffled.

Noelle felt bad. She'd always tried to treat others the way you wanted them to treat you. Sometimes that was harder than other times. She hadn't meant to not know that Dora was gone a whole month. She hadn't been caught up in other friends, she'd been caught up in training. She had a very tight schedule right now. Multiple things going on at once.

Noelle kept her eyes on Dora though as she laid in bed with her. She listened, her frown growing from what Dora was saying. She'd heard of the Vanishing sickness. Vaguely. She didn't grow up with a lot of magical knowledge because her mom married into a muggle family and too many muggles were around. It sounded dreadful though. She wondered how you had gotten that in the first place.

Noelle's eyes went to Dora's arm though. "Its back though! That's good news right??" then she looked back at Dora's eyes. "Also, I am so sorry. I don't have a lot of time to hang out lately. It's my training. I am so sorry. I didn't mean to make you feel unwanted. I honestly thought you didn't want to be my friend anymore." Because it had felt a little icy on her end too. But it didn't matter. She was here now.
