_________________ Welcome to your first duel! This is a key stepping stone into determining your placement in the Unforgivable Tournament so please take this seriously. A list of spells to use can be found HERE while the cost of physical actions can be found below. Please note that these actions take away from the Fatigue Points section. Also note that these are only taken into account if you're attacking or avoiding a spell. If you're simply moving around the hall, these points don't need to be considered. Text Cut: Physical Actions _______________ A referee (either Professor Airey or Professor Hirsch) will be present to oversee the duels and will only interfere if the duel ends or any foul play or unsportsmanship-like behaviour is displayed. Please remember to adhere to the Dueling Club rules, the DADA rules as well as the SS Site rules. Good luck! ________________ OOC: This duel must be completed by the 14th of June by 11:59pm GMT. You're required to make a minimum of 3 posts each in that time. If you have any questions, please don't hesitate in contacting me about them or posting them in the Dueling Club Rules thread. If you don't think you can post during that time or you don't think you can start/finish your duel, please let me know as soon as possible and we'll try and work something out. Remember to keep a track of your points both in the title of your post (before any spells have been cast) and at the end of the post (after your charrie has cast a spell). Please refer to this post if you're confused as to how this works or, simply, come to me. Include as much information as you can about the spell in the spoiler section at the bottom of your post, including the directionality of the spell. Also remember to be as realistic as possible with your charrie's age and ability. First person mentioned in the thread title is the first person to start off the duel. Good luck! |
Health: 500, Magic: 750, Fatigue: 50 Her first duel and it was against Justin. Kay was quite unsure of how to feel about this. On one hand, she wanted to win but on the other Justin was her friend and she wanted him to win too. Pity there couldn't be two winners. "Hi, Justin. Good luck!'' She beamed as she saw him when she arrived. The woman moved towards one end of the room and thus, putting some distance between them. She remembered to bow; she felt slightly awkward doing so. "Steleus!'' The moment she had straightened up, Kay shot the Sneezing spell at Justin. After a split second's hesitation, she followed up with the Stinging Hex. So sorry, Justin. The Muggle Studies kept her wand raised before her, prepared for the Groundskeeper's counter attack. SPOILER!!: Tracker! |
H: 479 m: 720 s: 45 It was amusing the circumstances surrounding this duel. It wasn't that long ago for Justin that he was working quite well with the lovely Kay during the holidays, only to now be pitted against her in a duel. "Same to you Kay, you'll need it." He winked following the entrance and bow he made. No hard feelings, yes? Just before he could straighten up after the bow, he rolled away dodging the first spell. But not from the second that hit his left arm. "YOW!" Ugh, well, better to grin and bear it as he did. "Well then, take this! Flipendo!" Topping it with the Jelly-Fingers Curse right after. Health: 500; Magic: 714; Fatigue: 50 Yes! At least one of her spells had worked and Kay was pumped! She had never been very good at duels and she reminded herself that she needed to keep calm and not get ahead of herself. Justin was experienced at these duels. Maybe she would need his good luck, not that she would tell him that. His Knockback Jinx caught her and she was pushed back wards. Her breath was also knocked from her and fortunately she hadn't been slammed into the wall. She did loose her balance, however. Professor Kay was down on her butt! Which was a good thing because another spell came whizzing by over her head. At least she was safe! From her unexpected seat on the floor, Kay raised her wand and back to back threw the Jelly-Brain Jinx. SPOILER!!: Tracker! |
Staff duels were always interesting, weren't they? It had a lot to do with the fact that they were his colleagues and so, to see them not being professional in a duel setting was, well, interesting. Standing back, he watched the duel commence, his eyes on Kaysha in particular. She was new and he had no idea what her duelling abilities were like. Justin, however, he knew him, alright. Durmstrang had made sure of that. But Kaysha seemed to be giving the Groundskeeper a run for his money, what with the Stinging Hex that had managed to hit him. He might need to talk to her afterwards about duelling. And the time was over. Great. It had just gotten started and all. Nevertheless, the man struck up that usual magical barrier and appeared out of the shadows he'd been standing in. "Well done! That was an impressive display of spellwork." But there can only be one winner. "You fought well, Justin, but Kaysha's stolen the title in this round. Congratulations!" Smile. Stats: Kaysha Stewart: 97.51% Justin McLeod: 93.93% |
