IC date, time, place: Departure from the school courtyard, 10AM sharp on Friday, October 27th.
On this very special morning the school staff and students are assembling in the courtyard on the grounds to travel by portkey to Sweden for a great academic endeavour sponsored by the Hogwarts Board of Governors. With a slight nib in the autumn morning air it's best to pull your coat a little closer and to make sure to have your luggage within sight as the frenzy that always ensues at any departure time intensifies.
Several large boots and some big blankets in an array of colours have been provided by the department of magical transportation for easy departure to Arjeplog, located in the Swedish highlands.
The closer it gets to 10 AM all students and staff chaperons going on the trip assemble around the portkeys with their luggage and within minutes they are whisked away to Sweden, where everyone lands on the green grass in front of the Arjeplog short snout dragon reservation.
When you've gotten the ringing out of your ears and you can orientate yourself in your new surroundings you'll see some dragons flying over the reservation, but what catches your eye are all the noises the Swedish ministry officials are making as they run left and right to get things sorted and some are even trying to get some green and blue stubborn baby dragons to go back to their pens without much success.
Before you've taken many steps towards the dragon reservation gates, a senior man in his 80's with a moleskin dark green coat, a brown beaver hat on his head and orange trousers and shoes suddenly appears out of nowhere out of breath and gasps out a greeting as his ice blue gazes darts from face to face. "Hej, welcome to Sweden and Arjeplog's Swedish Short Snout dragon reservation all Hogwarts students and staff. We are so excited to have all you here. I hope you all will enjoy it here and will have fun as you explore the reservation and its many attractions. We've got dragons and a famous broom race and memorabilia and just dragons and brooms............So most welcome and have a look around!" and then the man turns on his heel and darts off.
OOC: Welcome all students and staff shaperones to the trip! Remember that while the students aren't in the school they are still under adult supervision. Go explore the threads and interact! Rp with people you don't usually post with! Post in here departing and arriving etc but most of all have RP FUN with your characters!

Portkeys weren't her favorite mode of transportation but she managed just fine, going as far as to avoid the vomiting first year once she arrived. Yeah, no. Not dealing with that. She'd be too tempted to toss the little one to the dragons had any gotten onto her. The thought alone made her wrinkle her nose and take yet another step away. A step closer to Rooney, who was talking about weeing. "Please don't."Please.

So here they were, it was time to get going! Her one lone handbag was flung over her shoulder. True, she traveled light, but not as much as it appeared. The bag had an Undetectable Extension charm on it, plus it had been bewitched to be feather-light. So yes, she was prepared.
By the looks of it, she was certainly not the first person here. And though she was the supervision, Tiara preferred to let the students congregate and chat amongst themselves. If an adult was needed she would be there. But til then.. It was time to people watch!
Or not.
She checked her watch and noticed it was almost time to leave. "Everyone grab onto one of the portkeys! They are about to leave!" Bending down, she grabbed one of the edges of the blankets. After several moments, she felt the familiar jerk behind her navel and WHOOSH! off she went.
Fortunately it was a graceful landing. Even more fortunately, she was not next to any of the pools of sick that were appearing next to children. No one appeared very seriously ill, so no harm done! Then before she knew it, a wizened old man was rushing up to them and issuing instructions.
"Well you heard the man. Off you go to explore! Leave the luggage here, we'll take care of it." Unless they had charmed theirs like hers - doubtful. She was definitely off to scope out the seating situation first herself. She was here for the race and wanted a good seat.

He knew that she would be among the crowd, and the prefect wanted to do nothing but avoid her like he had been to the best of his ability the past month. The metaphorical wound was still open, and there didn't need to be any salt poured onto it. But the boy managed to talk himself into grab onto a portkey in the end. Arjeplog was a fairly big place, after all. Surely it was big enough for them both to go off and do their own things without any awkward interactions.
The want to vomit was real as soon as they all had landed. But the blond, however, managed to hold it together. Instantly blue eyes scanned the place, taking note of his surroundings. It was a bit chilly, but that he could easily handle. Plus there were dragons flying about and Swedes running around like a bunch of loonies to keep him preoccupied ... and then there was ...
Nope. Frankie's gaze quickly changed when he caught sight of Hady. From the looks of things, she was a bit preoccupied eyeing up the dragons, which the boy hoped gave him plenty of time to flee without being seen. While some old bloke was speaking, his eyes then spotted the red hair that belonged to Brooklyn. The boy would have avoided her too, but these were difficult times and she just happened to be the first person he recognized out of everyone else that was there.
"Come with me," he said with some urgency in his voice, grabbing onto her sleeve. "Now."
Things back at the dorm had been rather, well, different lately, and Brooklyn was fairly certain what had happened. It wasn’t as if she was entirely unobservant, after all, and she’d hoped that the trip would make things even a tiny bit better. At least it was a change of scenery, and she’d glanced over at Hady as she’d arrived. Her dorm mate was quiet, but other than that it looked as if she was holding herself together. The dragons were definitely a good distraction. She’d always thought so, and that was her own reason for having signed up for the trip. It wasn’t the broom race, or Sweden particularly. It was seeing real dragons. Preferably getting to actually interact with them, and maybe bringing some things home to her little faux-dragons that she’d had to leave behind. Hopefully Tywin didn’t try to play with them again.
She had still been just sort of watching Hady, and the others as well, trying not to smirk at the younger snake complaining about getting vomit on his shoe. She was still rather proud of herself for having avoided the vomit, herself. It wouldn’t exactly go with her outfit. Plus, she just would rather not have had to deal with it at all.
She had nearly decided to go over to the brunette, even to the point of taking a step toward her, when she had felt a hand on her arm. Glancing back, she eyed it questioningly, only following the arm up to see it belonged to Frankie when he’d spoken. “Why?,” she asked, barely veiling the suspicion in her voice. She wanted to know what she’d get out of this, why he thought she’d actually listen. It wasn’t as if she ever had before, but she let him pull her away. Hexing probably would have been frowned upon.

He grabbed onto the nearest object with one hand, while the other tightly clutched his camera to his chest. He'd only just gotten it back from the repair shop after he'd cracked the lens in Herbology class. He wasn't taking any chances on it breaking again before he had a chance to use it!
Suddenly everything spun, and Fiyero felt like he was falling. The spinning stopped just as quickly as it came, and the next thing he knew, he was flat on his back staring up at the sky. He picked himself up, brushing the dirt off his clothes, and saw, to his relief, that his camera remained intact.
He supposed all those Quidditch matches he'd attended with his cousins came in handy... if nothing else, they made him more used to portkey travel. He didn't really feel queasy, just a little dizzy. He took a step back and immediately wobbled, whacking his head on a tree.
Still, he'd fared better than most. As he looked around, he saw that his fellow first-year Gryfindor Evie hadn't been so lucky. "You ok, Evie?"he asked, realizing what a stupid question it was only after he said it. "Here, drink some of this if you can." He offered her his water bottle. "You'll feel better soon."
Evie looked up her cheeks flushed as she heard a voice near her, she saw Fiyero approach her. She was grateful it wasn't the prefect to be honest. She took the offered water bottle and poured some into the lid before dumping it into her mouth she didn't want to taint the mouth of the bottle with the throw up. She smiled weakly as she stood up grabbing her bag from beside her.
"Thank you so much Fiyero." She handed the bottle back. "What in the world, I'm assuming that was a port key? She looked at her fellow Gryffindor puzzled. "What an awful way to travel. Is it always that unpleasant?" She looked around in awe at their surroundings. She had never left her small town and here she was in another country! "Would you mind if I tagged along with you around here?" Evie didn't think she knew anyone else that was on the trip.

...Maybe she should've stayed back at Hogwarts.
Breathing was getting harder by the second, it really was. Stumbling through the crowd with his luggage, it tok his a few minutes before Kyroh could finally spot his best friend. His heart seemed to be beating too fast, the pounding exploding his his ears as he gasped for another breath.
He has seen dragons before. Twice in fact. Once when his father had gotten one of his old students to take him to the reserve that she worked at. And another time when he had written into Gringotts. But this was a completely different thing.
This was, BABY DRAGONS.
They were going to see BABY DRAGONS. Those were the kinds he wanted to work with! But what if they didn't like him at all?? THEN HIS WHOLE LIFE WOULD HAVE BEEN A LIE!!!! Looping his luggage around his wrist he shuffled just about to tap Maddie on the shoulder when Professor Tanner yelled out. Reaching out of the portkey he struggled to to take a final breathe before they were whisked away. Landing on his feet easily, he quickly reached out for Maddie's shoulder.
MADDISON COOPER DID YOU SEE THE DRAGONS!?!?!?!?!?

It was a good thing he'd had a world of experience using porkeys already, so even with the burden of his luggage and the distance they were travelling, he managed to keep the contents of his stomach down and stop himself from falling face forwards.
He was cool.
What was even cooler - at first glance - was Sweden. Like.... okay, he could totally get used to this, for now. He listened with interest as they were informed of things, but really his mind was already thinking of all the different things they'd be seeing and doing.
Heck yes for school excursions!
The dragons, THOSE were exciting, this was a billion times better than any trip to some astronomical museum thing in the history of ever.
Mom says I have no sense of direction, so I packed my bags and right.
Torrance, unlike many of the other students close to his age. Was used to Portkey travel already. Having had done it a few times between England, France, and Canada when he had to hop around his Uncle's and Grandpa.
So nothing new. His stomach always churned a little but he was used it it.
He took the Portket along with the Older Slytherin he had met last year during Defense Against the Dark Arts. (Dante), was his name. He was really super tall, so he probably wouldn't have even seen that this small Gryffindor hopped on for a ride with him.
As they landed Torrance did what had learned to do with all his previous travels. Plant your feet firmly and hard onto the ground! So once they made the landing He pressed down on his legs hard. Squashing Dante's foot beneath his own.
Then he looked up at the sky. As he always does. DRAGONS! AND HOLY WHOA THEY'RE FLYING! and TORRANCE WANT TO FLY LIKE A DRAGON! His Head continued to tilt backwards and his foot pressure continued on down to Dante's foot beneath his own.
He was cool, though. Cornelius smiled at the Divination Professor. It wasn't something that couldn't be fixed so he simply took his wand out and cast Scourgify on his boot. There. Simple, simple, done and done. Cornelius raised his head and shot Skylar a smile.
"You can have my extra water bottle," he said when he overheard Skylar mention water. Cornelius reached backwards to the side of his backpack and then handed it to her. "Hope you feel better." He wasn't going to excuse himself so quickly but when his green eyes caught Azura's state from afar, the boy waved at Skylar and her companion and dashed off to help his Ravenclaw friend.
"Ouch," he said, reaching Azura's side. "Are you okay?" Of course she wasn't. Her face was BLEEDING. Quickly reaching into his pocket Cornelius brought out a handkerchief (yes, he carried one. It wasn't as big as his dad's but spoiled kids got hankies) and offered it to Azura. "Might want to press to stop the blood."
And while she did that..."We need a professor, please!" HIS FRIEND'S FACE WAS A BLEEDING.

A vomit on his shoes? Sora just shook her head.... Merlin, these kids... But glad that it's not a big deal for him since she watched him casting the scouring charm. See? It was an easy fix. The divination looked around again if there's someone needed her help. She saw Professor Tanner was already there and let the student explore the place. Also, she needed to take a sip of water first.
We need a Professor, please?
Suddenly she heard a voice calling out for a Professor assistance. Sora saw Cornelius with a girl... Azura, right? What happened with that girl? She noticed that her face was bleeding. "Ms. Kennedy, what happened with your nose?" She must've landed with her face. How.... unfortunate.

Portkey travelling always turned Leo's stomach upside down. He was relieved when they landed on solid ground again in Sweden. Even if he didn't show it or voiced it to someone felt pretty queasy but it wasn't like he was going to vomit anytime soon. Like he heard some students do around him. But his fellow shaperon's quickly came to the student's assistance.
They were soon greeted by a swedish representative from the dragon reservation that welcomed them and that talked up what they had to offer. When the man in the peculiar clothes had left. Leo pulled out his wand to magnify his voice make himself heard over the student murmurings all around. "Students, have fun exploring the many treats off the reservation! Go pet a dragon or go look at the broom race or even buy some souvenirs! We'll meet back here before dinner. You can leave your luggage here with the staff while you explore. It'll be safe. So off you go everyone! Explore!"
OOC: As Leo just said Go EXPLORE the other trip threads! Have fun rpying in the Broom stands, Dragon Petting Zoo, Food Court and Souvenir tents! I'm sure your charrie would like to own a miniture moving dragon or a pair of omnicular or would like to get close to a dragon. Go have some RP fun!

Now.. if she could just find her wand.. Oh! There it was.. Azura had just grasped the wood when she heard a voice above her and saw Cornelius. "Hey.." She said rather thickly with a wince as she tried not to move her face as she talked.. "Uhh, yeah.. I just landed on my face when we landed." She said with a sigh.. And she had been so good this term too about breaking her nose.
"Thanksssss." She got out as she took the Handkerchief he handed to her and she gingerly pressed it to her nose and tried not to wince.. Ohh.. Oh fwoopers.. She was getting rather dizzy, when she pressed on her nose it crunched a little.. Ohhkay.. She could do this..
Hopefully..
Oh.. and there was Professor Yoon, "I didn't let go of the portkey in time and landed on my face." Her voice was now ever more muffled due to the handkerchief she was holding onto her face.. "I.. think I'm mostly okay.. It's just.. my nose.. well." She bit her lip..
"Ithinkibrokeitagain." She got out as she sighed softly..

MADDISON COOPER DID YOU SEE THE DRAGONS!?!?!?!?!?
She DID see the dragons and the brunette smiled over at him, knowing the internal freak out that was currently taking place inside of her best friend. She could practically feel the excitement radiating off of him.
As soon as Kitridge gave the okay, Maddie stole Kyroh's hand form her shoulder and gave it a squeeze. "You heard the man, Freckles. We've got baby dragons to pet." Her lips quirked as she eyed him, preparing herself for the tugging that was about to happen. "Lead the way, dragon boy." See? She was letting him lead, even. SUCH a good best friend right here. He could so buy her a souvenir later.
Distracted by the puke it only took him a few moments, okay a lot longer than that, to realize someone was on LITERALLY on his foot. It took until the kid stomped on his foot. Really he knew that dragons where awesome and everything. But Dante had a girl to talk to. Who was now getting dragged away by Frankie. Thanks Tory.
Yes Dante remembers your name. He could not forget the hair.
"Son of a hippogriff. Get off!"
His foot was killing him now and he had a slytherin to catch up to.

Fiyero nodded. He was impressed Evie knew what a Portkey was, especially given her limited experience with the wizarding world. "Yeah, Portkeys take some getting used to," he replied. He'd travelled by Portkey to so many Quidditch matches that it hardly affected him anymore, but his first experience had been a lot like Evie's. "If it makes you feel any better, the same thing happened to me the first time I used one," his voice dropped as he added, "Let's just say Grandma wasn't too happy about it..."
His mind berated him for telling Evie that story. Now she was probably going to think he was weird... He'd better change the subject - and fast! "Personally, I prefer broom travel," he said, "but since first-years aren't allowed their own broomstick..." He rolled his eyes as he recited the ridiculous rule. Well, that and it would probably take forever to fly all the way from Hogwarts to Sweden...
Fiyero smiled as Evie asked if she could tag along; exploring Sweden with a firend was going to be a million more times more fun that going it alone. Before he could say anything, a dragon flew by. "Whoa!" he exclaimed. "Did you see that?" He fumbled with his camera, but the dragon was gone before he could get the lens cap off. Darn, that would've made an awesome shot!
Behind him he heard Mr. Kittridge telling them to go explore, something about leaving the luggage and meeting back for dinner. Well, he didn't have to tell Fiyero twice! "Want to check out the dragon petting zoo?" he asked Evie. "I hope the dragons aren't camera-shy!"

Yes Dante remembers your name. He could not forget the hair.
"Son of a hippogriff. Get off!"
His foot was killing him now and he had a slytherin to catch up to.
His mouth was gaping wide open. His attention was focused solely on the Dragons over head. so Majestic, so Beautiful, so Proud. He really very badly wanted to be up there with them.
His hand reached up for anything to grab and that just so happened to be Dante's jacket. He clenched it in his fist, his foot still over top the Slytherin's but not pressing down on it so much now.
Then the snaked hissed. This snapped Torrance out of his awe. "Son of a what?" Hmm... his balance seemed a little off. Why was one foot feeling soft grass and soil while the other did not? "Oh!" Torrance took his foot off of Dante's then stepped aside. Tugging the tall boy's jacket. OH! He had lanched onto him too?! Wow, Dragons must be awesome. He released his grip then just looked back up at the sky. "Dragons are awesome."
School trips, first one she'd been on since coming to Hogwarts, this would be interesting. Portkeys didn't faze the young blonde whatsoever. She had plenty of experience in using them throughout her youth and landed rather gracefully even with her luggage.
Sweden....this would be interesting. She hadn't been since she was eleven but she doubted the country had changed drastically in six years. Her last visit was before her family life fell apart but it should still be the same. Scandinavia was in her veins and the native tongue was comforting nostalgia to the teen. Ilia simply watched the crowd in mild amusement, wondering what was in store.

Landed on her face? That was the last thing that she had to do if she didn't want her face ruined. For the love of Cassandra, she bet that this wasn't the first time she broke her nose since this girl mentioned that she broke it again. Again? It's either she didn't like her nose very much or she was just too clumsy to function.
But there's only one thing that she could do here. Sora pointed her wand to the student's nose and tried to fix it. "Episkey." Lucky that it's such a simple fix. "Next time when you're being asked to let go off the portkey, you let it off. Or maybe wear a helmet with face protector to avoid the nose breaking." The divination professor gave Azura a suggestion.

Portkeys were not his favorite way to travel. He hadn't done it much before, for good reason, and he was not particularly looking forward to doing it again. But it was worth it because they were going on a very exciting trip to...Sweden? Yeah that sounded right. Honestly he had forgotten many of the details because he was so excited about the fact that there would be dragons. Like real live dragons.
Olly gripped the portkey and was hurled through the air. Or...however portkeys worked? Whatever. All he knew was that his feet suddenly hit the ground very hard and then his whole body was on the ground and he had the wind knocked out of him. That was the not fun part. He knew that supposedly it got better with more experience but that would mean having to take more portkeys and he was not fond of that idea.
He listened to a bit of what that man was saying without really processing it. As soon as he was done he, like most of the rest of his classmates, ran off to where there were fun things to do.

Azura really just wanted to hide in a hole right now, and she gingerly tested the ground underneath her just a bit.. She pushed her toe against the dirt and sighed under her breath. Solid as a rock. One of these days she would fall though the ground and be saved the embarrassment of her clumsiness.
Today was not that day.
The small girl held very still as the Professor fixed her nose and she only winced a little as her broken bones were healed.. She felt slightly lightheaded at the pain, but thankfully, some ice and her mother's cream would help out the pain and bruising.. She just needed to get it back from Noah.
"Thank you very much Professor. I will try to be more careful in the future." She really would try! She HAD been trying! She was two months into term before a nose break.. This time last year she had already broken her nose four times! Surely that was progress?
"Thank you again." Azura said with a smile as she slowly moved towards her luggage, now to clean herself up, get some cold water and see what was around.
