_________________ Welcome to your third duel! This is a key stepping stone into determining your placement in the Jinx Tournament so please take this seriously. A list of spells to use can be found HERE while the cost of physical actions can be found below. Please note that these actions take away from the Fatigue Points section. Also note that these are only taken into account if you're attacking or avoiding a spell. If you're simply moving around the hall, these points don't need to be considered. Text Cut: Physical Actions _______________ A referee (either Professor Airey or Professor Hirsch) will be present to oversee the duels and will only interfere if the duel ends or any foul play or unsportsmanship-like behaviour is displayed. Please remember to adhere to the Dueling Club rules, the DADA rules as well as the SS Site rules. Good luck! ________________ OOC: This duel must be completed by the 21st of July by 11:59pm GMT+1/BST. You're required to make a minimum of 3 posts each in that time. If you have any questions, please don't hesitate in contacting me about them or posting them in the Dueling Club Rules thread. If you don't think you can post during that time or you don't think you can start/finish your duel, please let me know as soon as possible and we'll try and work something out. Remember to keep a track of your points both in the title of your post (before any spells have been cast) and at the end of the post (after your charrie has cast a spell). Please refer to this post if you're confused as to how this works or, simply, come to me. Include as much information as you can about the spell in the spoiler section at the bottom of your post, including the directionality of the spell. Also remember to be as realistic as possible with your charrie's age and ability. First person mentioned in the thread title is the first person to start off the duel. Good luck! |
H: 100, m: 100, f:15 Fiyero swaggered into the dueling arena, eager to prove himself. His first two duels certainly hadn't gone the way he'd hoped, with the first one being anticlimactic and the second one being... well, the only word he could think of to describe it was melodramatic. Oh, well...here's hoping the third time's the charm. He knew his opponent for this duel well. "Hey, Bec!" he greeted his friend with a cheery wave. Whoops... that's not right! You're supposed to bow to each other in a wizard's duel, not wave. "Good luck," he said, giving her a deep bow. "I'm going to give you my best game, so no hard feelings about the spells, okay?" Hopefully there wouldn't be any need for over-the-top displays of gallantry this time... "You ready?" he asked, drawing his wand. After all it seemed a bit unsporting to hex her without giving her a chance to prepare. "Steleus." Text Cut: points |
H:100 m:100 f:15 Having lost 1 and won 1 duel, Bec was ready to face her next opponent and win this round as well. And when she had found out that she was dueling against her friend she was even more excited to start. Entering the arena from the other side of the room, Bec couldn’t resist waving back with a cheery wave of her own and when she got closer she could hear him. She smiled at the good luck and nodded her head to say the same. His next set of words made her grin a little though. “Give it your best shot” because SHE was going to win this muwahahaha! Wand at the ready and making a bow as well, Rebecca watched Fi closely but did not give any mention if she was ready or not. However, he must have seen that she was because the first spell was already casted her way. Asdelkgahlfj what was steleus?! She didn’t want to find out and be a guinea pig here so she dodged the spell by ducking her head. She felt the energy wave over her head and when she was sure it was gone she stood back up while pointing her own wand at Fi. “Densaugeo!” SPOILER!!: Points tracker |
H: 100, m: 85, f: 15 Fiyero watched as Bec ducked, and his spell sailed over her head. Oh well... if at first you don't succeed, try, try again, he thought. Bec aimed a spell he'd never heard before at him, something that started with a D. What, what did that spell do? He didn't have much time to think about it before it hit him in the stomach. Suddenly his teeth started growing... and growing.... and growing. So that's what that spell does; it gives you big beaver teeth! He really hoped it would stop soon, as it was a little distracting to have teeth that extended well past his face! Nice try, Bec... but he wasn't going down that easily. Fiyero pointed his wand straight at Bec. It was a bit more difficult than he'd expected to talk with these huge teeth, but he eventually managed to mumble, "Locomotor Wibbly." Text Cut: points |
This was unusual, wasn't it? Were all the first years in this list friends with each other? Because it certainly seemed so. Again, there was the friendly greeting and the warning and the note on not taking this too seriously. It made the man wish that they, well, wouldn't grow out of this habit. It would be a shame if they ditched the niceties altogether. ......... Well, this was a short duel, wasn't it? The duel had just started and, in next to no time, it was already time for it to close. Shame, really. The shield was struck up and the man moved forwards into the arena. "Well done, both of you. Some interesting spells were cast there." Pity it couldn't last longer: he kind of wanted to see how the two would fare under longer times in these duels. "There can only be one winner so, congratulations, Mr Jones.
