Ansley led his class out to an open space on the Hogwarts grounds not far from the lake. This would be the perfect place to have a little fun with his lesson. Once he called roll again and made sure that everyone who was with him inside was now congregated outside, he addressed them all as a class again.

"Alright, class, we are going to have a little activity," he said, raising his voice a little to make sure they could all hear. "We are going to go to war. Well... not really, but we are going to have a paint war. Instead of two sides, there will be four - you will be divided by house. Might as well Impervius your clothes, or get an older student to do that for you." He probably should have told them to wear old clothes, but oops, he forgot.

"A lot of you said you'd go to war for family or friends, maybe imagine that that is what is going on now." Or whatever they wanted to imagine, he didn't care. "Which side will win? The side that wants it more? The side with more people? The side that has more power?" It might be interesting to see how it turned out or what the strategies would be.

"You will be using two spells - Pingo, which shoots out a bubble of paint from your wand when combined with the spell name and color (for example - Pingo Blue shoots out blue paint) and Protego, the shield charm." Hopefully the younger students knew these charms or they'd need to learn fast. Not his problem though, all's fair in love and war. "You will attempt to strike a member from another team with your house color and they will do the same. Once you are hit by a color twice, you must join that team until you are struck twice by another color." So in effect, if a teammate was lost, they could always be returned if the original team were strategic.

Oh no! Rachel had gotten captured by the Slytherins! That wasn't going to do! She smiled as Tia aimed at Rachel first and then Azura raised her wand and aimed at her friend as well!

"Pingo Blue!"

Azura sent her blue bubble of paint straight towards her friend! C'mon Rach! It's time to join the best side again!! She giggled happily.. This was all so fun!!

WHAT.

What is this NONSENSE?! They had a Ravenclaw on their team for all of a MINUTE, and she was already going to be reclaimed? Oh, no. This just would NOT do. Ariadne was on a mission, and she WOULD claim all these Ravenclaws for Slytherin before this class was up.

You know what they say--If you can't beat 'em...force 'em to join you.

Yeah. That was TOTALLY the way things went. The Head Girl was next on Ariadne's hit list, too. She'd already aimed for the Head Boy. She had no problem at all taking out the big dogs. But first, Rachel!

"PINGO GREEN!" she said, aiming again at Rachel, who had currently been reclaimed by Ravenclaw.

How could she have ever thought that she'd be left alone, at least for a little while, after she became a temporary Snake? It was all Rachel could do but smile as Ariadne welcomed her before an almighty splat hit her. Then there were two more hitting her in quick successions. All three were blue paint!

"I'm a Ravenclaw again,'' she squealed and dashing over to her favourite student leader. "Thank you Tia, Azura.'' She had only been a Snake for a few minutes and it hadn't been bad at all. But Ariadne wasn't going to give up so easily. Rachel chanced another Shield charm. "Protego!'' Hooray! This one worked! "Sorry, Ariadne,'' she called to her friend.

It was pandemonium. Look at all those flying paint being exchanged from one person to another! Jace tightened his grip on his wand, not sure if his last spell had hit Carl. There was no time to check his progress because he's currently an open target!

Not that he'd run away to hide or anything. But if he was given the opportunity, he so would. So far, so good though. Not much paint was on his shirt and face, which means he's still in Ravenclaw.

Good.

Aiming his wand at a student, "Pingo blue!" Jace had muttered the spell only to slip on a mixture of paint substance on the ground, sending his own stream of blue paint flying onto someone...or something.

Rolling onto his tummy he stayed on the ground and just...watched the others go for it.

This activity is too messy for him. Yep.

She heard it before she saw it, the swishing sound of something falling through the air and ducked just in time. Some of her hair was still caught by the spell and was now blue. With the blue paint dripping from her ends, she shook her head - sending paint all over - looking to whoever had cast that to fire back, but everyone seemed deep into battle with someone else.

YES! Her spell had actually hit Rachel! Whoop! They were getting even more people on there team! They were on the path to victory!

Had she seriously just get hit?! Sure enough, when she looked down there was a big splatter of blue paint on her uniform. . .

Mason looked up, straight into her attacker. Jace. "Nice aim." She said with a smile, even under the circumstances, she had to compliment her fellow First Year for that hit.

"You're gonna get it, Shin'yū!" she just had to wait for her opportunity. Then she would strike. Mwahahahahaha.

Azura watched as Jace sent out a hit that actually landed on MasonYay!! Go Jace! She didn't have time to congratulate her best friend though as he ducked to the ground get out of the way of the flying paint!

And yesssss! Rachel was back with them! Woo!!

All right! Azura raised her wand and aimed at Mason! she already had one blue spell coming after her! It was time for another!

"Pingo Blue! " Azura called as she let her spell fly directly toward the blue paint covered Slytherin!!

Now Mason was on TEAM BLUE, which left Ariadne alone with just Hady and Elsa in her sight. Who could she take down? Oh, right. THE HEAD GIRL. Head Boy, YOU'RE NEXT. Right now, though? She was on a Ravenclaw mission and truth be told, the Gryffindors weren't much of a threat right now.

"PINGO GREEN!" she called out, aiming right at Tia. "Elsa! Help me out!" she called out. "Hady? ANYBODY?"

"HEYYYY! Gryffindors and Hufflepuffs! Anybody who helps me take down the Head Girl, I will surrender myself to your team!" she called out.

Things were moving very fast now. Esme was taken by Ravenclaw (woot!) before being taken by Slytherin. And then Rachel had been taken off their team, but thankfully had been reclaimed. Haha Slytherin!

It looked to Kitty like Slytherin were the bigger threat, so she pulled out her wand and aimed in their direction. "Pingo Blue"! Kitty called out, pointing her wand at Ariadne.

WHAT? They had no candy?! That was not what Esme had heard about the Dark Side. Really she was just hungry and wanted food. She raised her brow at Mason. "Can you see the water from your common room?" She had never been down there SO SHE DIDN'T KNOW. This was a valid question, okay. She wanted to know if there was an AQUARIUM in the dungeons because that would be super cool.

Lost in her own thoughts, she barely had time to register that Rachel had been with them for a moment before being stolen away again by the Ravenclaws. That was just plain rude she thought with a smile. Maybe she would just have to try to claim one of her other friends; she wanted ALL of them over to the Dark Side - well, the ones that weren't already there, obviously. They could all be Snakes with her.

"PINGO GREEN!" she called out as she aimed towards Azura. Would ~~her bodyguard~~ Jace manage to block this one as well?

Text Cut: Kitty!

So far, nobody had taken her up on her epic offer, but then again, the only two Hufflepuffs in her sight were Esme and Scarlett. One of them was already on Team Green, and the other had just aimed at her. As for Gryffindors, it was only the Head Boy, and she still wanted to attack him again.

As for now...

WHAT?! Kitty was aiming at her?! She KNEW the Ravenclaws were out to get EVERYBODY. You just didn't have that many blue people in one school without some conspiracy going on. Ariadne was NOT about to give up now. She had a plan, and it just would not work if she was on Team Blue.

"Protego!" she said.

She couldn't stay green forever, she doubted, but she could buy herself some time.

Azura hadn't seen whether her attack hand landed on Mason or not, but she didn't have time as her own dear precious Esme aimed at her!!

Gasp!! She didn't want to be green! ~~Not unless Cyprian was over there and she didn't see him.. Mmmkay? Yes.. she had checked!~~ Azura held up her wand and yelled..

"Protego!" Her shield went up just a second before the green paint splattered all over it! Whew!! Still blue! Now.. she sort of wanted to duel Esme.. The tiny twelve year old shook her head and looked around.. wondering if any more attacks were coming towards her or her friends!

Too bad Esme would never actually be a Slytherin or see the underwater windows. . . which was actually pretty sad. . .

The traveling class ending up on the grounds near the lake before the professor gathered their attention all together to explain just what they were doing and why they were outside where they were. Going to war?! Well paint war, but still. Olivia was reminded of the charms lesson they had had earlier in the term that had been interrupted by Peeves. Except this time they would definitely be fighting and tossing paint around and against each other not a poltergeist. And as she listened to him further, it was clear it was entirely done with magic.

Great.

Olivia cast the imperious spell they had learned to avoid paint stains, however she still wished she had more maneuverable clothes on. Oh well. As for the two spells used in question, she only knew the shield, which meant Pingo was something she was going to have to learn on the fly. Double great. She looked around at her fellow Ravenclaws, hoping they had a chance even if she wasn’t going to be the greatest help herself.

She tried out the spell a few times before deciding to take aim. Seeing Ariadne defend against Kitty, the Ravenclaw decided to help her housemate. “PINGO BLUE!”

Elsa had been distracted evading spells and casting others, when she heard her name being called from the other side of the field. It was Ariadne, and boy did she look determined. She seemed to have a plan and seeing as Elsa didn't gather with any housemates on the moment she began wandering the field, it sounded like a good idea to keep together at that moment because things were getting hectic! She began making her way towards her, dodging a spell here and there.

She watched worriedly as Ariadne cast a Protego charm over herself to deflect a blue attack and hurried her step. As she was almost reaching her, another student attacked her friend. And blimey if it wasn't a Ravenclaw again. Elsa covered the last distance that separated her from Ariadne with an easy run and skidded to a halt in from of her because of the dirt beneath her feet, hand pointed forward exclaiming "Protego!" sending the blue paint ricocheting on to the ground. She looked back at Ariadne and winked with a grin. Ah! She made it.

Everything seemed to happen all at once. One second, they were doing okay... the next, red paint was splattering up his shoulder and onto his neck, and Mason was covered in blue. Enough blue to have her switching teams! Nooooooooo.

Jaemin wasn't sure which person the red had come from; he looked in the direction of the Head Boy, because the taller boy had already tried once, but he couldn't get too distracted. He didn't want to get hit again, and he definitely knew he wanted Mason back on his team.

Rubbing his neck with his left hand and smearing the red paint on his skin, the small boy pointed his wand at the girl and called out the spell. "Pingo green!"

Was it just her, or did most of the Gryffindors and Hufflepuffs seem to NOT be present today? She looked around for a single SECOND, and in that one little second, Olivia from Ravenclaw nearly got her. As a matter of fact, she WOULD have hit her had Elsa not stepped in to protect Ariadne at the last second.

WHEW.

"Thanks, Elsa!" she said, making a promise to herself to not merely glance around the room again. She'd also noticed that one of Jaemin's attempts had nearly gotten Mason...or DID it get her? Ariadne couldn't be sure, but just to kind of seal that deal, she aimed toward Mason.

"PINGO GREEN!" she said.

WELL. It looked like Esme wasn't going to get the chance to ask Mason more about the common room aquarium because she had been stolen away by the Ravenclaws. To make matters worse, Azura had managed to block her shot. Pout. She had wanted her friends to join the Slytherins.

Guess she was going to have to keep trying...

Hopefully she would catch SOMEONE.

"Yes!" Spinning her cape around her, Kitty pumped her fist into the air and did a little victory dance when Mason joined their team. Ravenclaw was going to win, like they always did! "Welcome to Raven-" she started to say, but then before she could even finish the sentence Mason was taken back into Slytherin. GAA!!

And that was when Esme's paintball slammed into Kitty's back (again), making it the second time in the match that Kitty had been hit by Esme. Of course, the first time it had been a yellow paintball because she was in Hufflepuff, and this time it was green.

One more hit from a Slytherin and Kitty would be forced to join Slytherin. Taking a step to hide behind Jace and Olivia, Kitty pulled out her wand and aimed it directly at Esme. "Pingo Blue!"

More aware now that she had a red splat on her back, Tia was nervous for other Gryffindors going to take advantage of it and hit her twice. She kept her shield charm up, as she heard a young slytherin - Ariadne - yelling her strategies for all to hear. Mostly, as she watched green paint shoot from the first year's wand toward her, she heard her shout out for helping in taking out the head girl. REALLY!?!? Fortunately it seemed she was the only one after taking her out thus far, but still. She wasn't sure her shield charm was still in effect, so quickly, the seventh year dove down to the ground, sliding a bit and watched as the green paint landed with a splat just inches from where she'd been.

That was when she heard another slytherin - Mason - asking about the strategy with them birdbrains, as she'd gotten claimed by the eagles. Not for long though because before she'd gotten a chance to discuss with Mason about their strategy, she was reclaimed back to slytherin side. This was just a process of claiming and re-claiming, it seemed.

"Pingo Blue!" Tia shot from the ground, shooting blue paint over towards the slytherin group and hoping it stuck.

Alas the blue spell that had been aimed at Ariadne had been blocked by another Slytherin who had come to their housemate’s defense. Bummer. Olivia gripped her wand prepared to cast a shield if either snake tried to retaliate yet no spell came and they soon dispersed allowing the first year some reprieve…for now. However she had barely had a chance to loosen her grip that Kitty had been shot by Esme now a snake as well. Thankfully it seemed like it had been the first Slytherin hit so her housemate was still her housemate.

Kitty retailiated and Olivia decided to join her. Either one spell was bound to hit or they both would and her friend would join them on the eagle side. “PINGO BLUE!!” she cast, throwing the color at Esme.

DARN! Her attempt to get Ariadne on her team (or at least start the process of it) had failed. BOOOO. Scarlett was lucky, though, as it seemed like the Ravenclaws and Slytherins were in an all out battle with each other and didn't seem to notice the little puff lurking on the outskirts of the group. Hmmm. She wondered how long she'd be able to keep this up...

Spotting the Head Girl, laying on the ground and shooting paint at the Slytherins, she figured now was as good a time as any to try and convert the older girl to the Puffs! "Pingo Yellow!" she exclaimed, aiming at her as she lay on the ground. Hopefully it hit her before she got up...

Did the Gryffindors have a chance with all the Revenclaws and Slytherins not to miss there were a few Hufflepuffs too. It seemed like the Gryffindors were having it though to win this. oh! So not fair He was already hit by one of the snake Elsa. And it was not time to attack.

He pointed his wand at Elsa. Revenge time. Here comes some red colour you ordered Elsa "Pingo Red" and the paint flew in her direction.

He wasn’t done yet there were still too many he could shoot. He grabbed his wand a bit tighter and aimed at one of the Revenclaws as they seemed in majority at the moment. "Pingo Red" he shouted and then there was the red paint flying from his wand again towards the Revenclaw who was trying to protect one of her fellow Eagle.

The lion was on a roll. Still so many left to fire at.

Jace sat up and was somewhat delighted when his paint had hit someone. The Ravenclaw beamed at Mason, and laughed when she called out to him. “Arigatou, Mason-san.” Will he get some green paint soon though? He sort of wanted it, and see if the Ravenclaws could get him back. It’s not as if he’ll be green forever. That’s just impossible.

The Ravenclaw stood up, and as soon as he did, he got a good amount of paint straight to the back of his head, and down to his neck. Jace just stood there, shocked by the impact. He did not expect to be hit so soon!

He turned to see where the paint came from, but as he did so, he caught sight of Ariadne. Well. How about they go trade houses for the day, eh?

“PINGO BLUE!”
