This is a key stepping stone into determining your placement in the Jinx Tournament so please take this seriously. A list of spells to use can be found HERE while the cost of physical actions can be found below.
Please note that these actions take away from the Fatigue Points section. Also note that these are only taken into account if you're attacking or avoiding a spell. If you're simply moving around the hall, these points don't need to be considered.

A referee (either Professor Airey or Professor Hirsch) will be present to oversee the duels and will only interfere if the duel ends or any foul play or unsportsmanship-like behaviour is displayed.
OOC: This duel must be completed by the 31st of March by 11:59pm GMT. You're required to make a minimum of 3 posts each in that time.

If you don't think you can post during that time or you don't think you can start/finish your duel, please let me know as soon as possible and we'll try and work something out.
Remember to keep a track of your points both in the title of your post (before any spells have been cast) and at the end of the post (after your charrie has cast a spell). Please refer to this post if you're confused as to how this works or, simply, come to me. Include as much information as you can about the spell in the spoiler section at the bottom of your post, including the directionality of the spell.
Also remember to be as realistic as possible with your charrie's age and ability.

He was convinced Hirsch had it out for them. First he faced his own girlfriend, next his best friend... and now said best friends boyfriend who was also his room-mate of five years and good friend. Like... what was with that?
Zeke almost missed Sabel's random assignments, simply because it meant he didn't really CARE about his opponent, and at the time he really hadn't. This year though, was a whole lot challenging. Facing off against Frankie would at least be entertaining though, so that was promising. He'd made good on trash-talking him in the lead-up too. Well worth it he was sure.
Coming from straight wins - as he had the previous school year when he took out the title of Champion for the Hex Tournament, Zeke was gunning to do the same again. It was with his head held high, chest pressed out and a swagger in his step, that Zeke entered the arena. He spared the Gryffindor Prefect a small nod before marching to the centre and bowing deeply at the waist, his eyes never leaving the Gryffindor's opposite him. "May the best man win," he grinned with a slight flourish of his wand before retreating to their starting positions. Once there though, he didn't waste much time in getting things started. He was hungry for action.
First sending a Smashing Spell to his opponents feet before following that up with a "Rictusempra," aimed at the boy's chest.

He knew it was only a matter of time before he would have to go head-to-head against his roommate in a duel. Fortunately, he had been carefully observing Zeke during each of the duels, so the blond was aware of some of the tricks he had up his sleeve. Needless to say, the boy had many of them, but Frankie was not going to put up a fight and not make things easy. After all, he had to avenge the defeat of his girlfriend.
The Gryffindor couldn't help but roll his eyes as he approached the swaggering Zeke and bowed. With all the trash talk that had been exchanged prior and now this, Frankie wanted nothing more than to have the Hex Champion wandless and his butt planted on the floor. "Try not to cry too hard when you lose, Zekie," he quickly retorted before swiftly turning on his heel and getting in position, his wand pointed directly at his opponent, waiting.
Immediately the prefect was caught off guard as the spell nicked his shoe and left a hole that exposed his toe. But it was the explosion that got his mind racing. Fully alert, he knew a second spell would be trailing close behind in true Zeke-fashion. Once the incantation was boldly stated, an invisible shield was made the deflected the tickling charm back at its caster. Nice try, bud.
With the second spell heading right back where it came, Frankie thought of another spell for Zeke to hassle with and aimed it at the boy's face. "Densaugeo!"

Perfect Prefect Paton wasn't the only one avenging a girlfriend in this duel, and for the briefest of moments he considered which part of the stands Maggie might be sitting in. Was she looking as smug as he was? Because this would be a divine slice of cake - not to say an easy one, but the best victories were the ones that were hard fought and hard won.
As such, he was mildly impressed with Frankie's swift reaction (despite it being delayed for his first spell). The deflected charm was not something he was interested in intercepting, and so he quickly jumped out of its range.
Game on. He was hungry for this.
Zeke would be the last to admit that a loss might in fact result in tears, but losing wasn't on his agenda today, or at all. In fact, he was certain that a loss would be met with death, or something close enough to it. There were expectations, and in addition to that, HE had expectations. So it was as a result of his hours upon hours upon hours upon DAYS, WEEKS, MONTHS and now YEARS that he raised his shield with a confident "Protego!" in time to mitigate Frankie's efforts.

Trash talk was one of the best parts about duelling and he kind of wished other people would do the same as well. It would certainly make things more interesting, that was for sure. The duel itself was rather interesting, up until............
............ uh oh.
Time was ticking and he could see what was happening, probably before either of the boys knew of it. The smile had long since vanished and he was standing there, hoping that Zeke would have something up his sleeve to bring out and secure the deal? Not that, of course, he was meant to have favourites but.........
Oh.
Oh Merlin.
When the time went up, so did the shield but the man didn't pop up anytime soon. He stood there and pinched the bridge of his nose, all the while muttering a few words under his breath that would make a house elf faint. Being completely partial was the best in these situations, wasn't it? Something he probably should've kept in mind long before the start of this duel.
A little while had passed and he finally stepped out of the shadows, trying to keep a neutral expression on his face. "Great duel, boys, really really great duel. Your distraction tactic was an excellent one, Zeke." Bright side? "And while you've put up a good fight, Mr Paton takes the lead on this duel. Congratulations!" Smile.
