Honestly, it took him awhile to recover from the initial shock when he found out that he was going to duel llia, his girlfriend, for their upcoming tournament. Henric really didn't know what to think. He loved her but her fierce competitiveness surprise him sometimes. He rather pulled out from the duel before it even began. Knowing his girlfriend's pride, she wouldn't like that at all if he purposely lose for her too. Henric was torn. It's a dead-end street either way. He sighed, it was inevitable to avoid their duel altogether so he set about prepping himself up for their match.

Henric stepped up onto the dueling platform and faced his fair and beautiful opponent. He admitted he was a little nervous, but he decided to just have fun with this. He bowed towards her before straightening his back once more,"Good luck, pumpkin." He winked and turned around.

He cast the first spell he could think of...perhaps a reminder that he was doing this for the both of them....

A Rose growth spell would do the trick?

Once Ilia knew that Henric was to be her first opponent, she was a little disappointed actually. Not because he lacked any skill, but because she knew that he would pull punches and not attack her is if she were any other opponent. While, he was a terrific boyfriend, that took the edge off the battle. It wouldn't be a, throw all you have at them and bring them down sort of fight. She, as much as she loved competition, wouldn't be able to actually hurt him in a duel. He was not any other opponent, so it would be almost like dueling with one hand tied behind her back. All this ran through her head as she checked the laces on her jet-black boots. Forgiving, form fitting, and all black, that was her dueling uniform. Her long golden locks were tucked smartly into a tight bun, out of the way....this was it.

Now it was time, they were here. She had been thinking of spells and strategies since the day that she has found out he was her opponent. Her head was held proud and a genuine smile upon her lips as she walked forward. "Not quite the catwalk, is it?" She winked at him to lighten the mood. Pet names before a duel darling? A reminder that he was always hers, no matter what or where. She smiled and bowed gracefully to him. "To you as well, you will need it my love."

Standing at the ready, she smiled at his spell choice. "As much as I hate to do this...." Once the roses started to bloom her way, she raised her wand to counter it. "Incendio" Not strong enough to burn Henric hopefully, just enough to destroy the bush she hoped. No need to burn his pretty hair or anything. Really, she didn't want to burn his roses up either but at least it would perfume the air? "Save that for later." She giggled a bit. Yes Henric, that was a hint at time by the lake.

Still, this was a duel and she would have to use offense. The amusement on her face showed as she cast "Rictusempra" with a great deal of purpose and intent. She was certain that between him and Adi, he had experienced that spell before. Tickle tickle baby, tickle tickle.

"No, not quite a catwalk, buttercup." Henric couldn't help but to let out a chuckle or two for his second pet name for her. Was this part of his plan? Yes, hopefully. Besides, he loved all things sweet! And, he couldn't agree more with her when she said he need luck by his side. Yes please, merlin...he would need all the luck in the world to get out of here alive...most importantly, their relationship still intact!

Henric caught llia using the fire spell on his rose bushes! Oh no, not on his watch! He quickly used the fire extinguishing charm to counter her attack on his precious bushes. He stared at her, shocked. "You're going to burn them, llia?"he pouted at her, frowning a little. B-but he always gave her roses...

Henric didn't have time to sulk, however, because soon after he was hit by HER tickling charm next!

HAHAHAHAA...GREAT HIPPOGRIFFS.WHA-HAHAHAA What is so funny? HAHAAA! Nooo, stop! HAHAHA! This is not good. HAHAHAHAHA! Henric couldn't stop laughing, his belly hurting now from all of the giggling fits. She was going to get her for that!

As soon as his laughing died down a little, he didn't hesitate to cast his next move on her. "How about a taste of your own medicine, llia?" He managed an offensive spell back at her.

"RICTUSEMPRA!"

"Its a duel, Henric. Any potential threat must be meted with a proper defense measure, even your lovely bush in this case." Please don't get pouty over it darling......it isn't like it was an attack on him.

Her tickling charm stuck, yes! She grinned merrily as he laughed. However, it seemed that he felt the need for retaliation....Oh no, she didn't want to lose her composure.....too late it stuck. The intense feeling of fingertips tickling her sides erupted all over her body. Not that Henric hadn't done this to her before, but he usually used his hands...and didn't do it in front of everyone. She started to laugh hysterically and did her best not to dance around from the sensation. Possibly a tinge of pink hit her cheeks both from laughter and slightly from embarrassment. Oh no, she did NOT like her own medicine.

Swiftly she cast the Bubble-producing spell to defend herself from a possible next attack and possibly distract him..... The pretty flow of colorful bubbles actually reminded her of Professor Myers and she smiled a little.

Okay, she wouldn't attack his rosebush again, but she needed to do something darling....besides just take it and giggle. She gave a little smirky smile, while she hoped he was distracted by the bubbles, and cast "Cantis". Sing for me lover.

"But you love roses!" Henric pouted more at her. Okay, maybe he should rethink his approach in this duel. Good thing, his powerful tickling spell hit her squarely in the chest. Hopefully his spell momentarily distracted her while he recovered from his. Henric was prepared to use the reflecting shield spell but was surprised when he only see bubbles being produced instead. Why wasn't she attacking him? Odd.

"Bubbles, sweetcake?" he chuckled. "They are certainly pretty to look at. You want to know what else that is pretty to look at? You." Yes, Henric use your tacky lines to capture her heart! He didn't care if the others heard him as they watched them duel, he had to survive somehow!

Oh. He was hit again, this time a spell that could involuntarily make him sing. NOOO~! Bloody heck. See this was exactly what was going to happen to him if he get a tiny bit distracted!

Before he knew it, he felt a familiar butterflies fluttering in the pit of his stomach. It made him want to sing his heart out for goodness sake! Ed Sheeran "Thinking out loud" lyrics song came out out of his mouth so fluently... oh merlin...help him.

He stopped, blinking at her. Huh? What just happened?! His face flushed red from the embarrassment. Oh merlin, could he just run and hide under a rock right now!

"Tarantallegra,"he pointed his wand at her half-heartedly.

"Oh I do my love, especially when they come from you." Ilia smiled and blew him a kiss. This wasn't about her affection for him or his gestures at all. No, it was just a duel. She didn't take it personal at all, although she was going much easier on him than she would any other opponent.

When he started tacky flirt lines, she giggled and smiled at him, but didn't let her wand or her guard down. "Woo me after the duel darling, I'm all yours." She wasn't going to deny that she enjoyed the cheesy romantic banter, she always did. Just...perhaps it would be better after the duel hmm?

Yes, her spell made contact! She always wanted to hear him sing to her and.....wow.....she had to focus herself. He sang really well for not doing it much and what he started singing....yes...umm....she was wooed. Her cheeks got a pink tinge as she listened. Oh baby that was beautiful. His red blush was adorable too. She saw his wand move, oh damn! She was distracted and didn't have quite enough time to cast a protection spell. Instead? She took a side step and hid behind what remained of his roses.

She didn't know what he cast at her, but she did know that she didn't want it. What now? She needed to throw some sort of spell at him.....and then a thought hit her. "Have a standing ovation dearest." He gave her roses.....so she would give him some flowers back...."Orchideous" Yes, she just attempted to summon a bouquet out of his wand at him.....

If that spell connected, it would give her a good chance to have another make its mark. "Titillando" Yes, more tickling.....tickling with a twist. She needed to cast a variety of spells....she just....wouldn't use any of her nasty little tricks on him because....well because it was him.

If anyone ever asked him what the weirdest duel he's ever encountered was, he would not hesitate to say this one. Why? Pet names. The duelists were giving each other pet names and generally being quite lovey dovey towards each other. They did know that this was a duel, right?

Thank Merlin there was no PDA because honestly, Hirsch would not know how to handle that.

As it was, he was simply glad that he was in the shadows and the contestants were probably too busy gazing into each other's eyes to probably notice the weirded out look on his face. Because that's how he felt. Weirded out. Eyes flickered between them and to his watch every now and then, almost as if he was counting down to the end of....... this. Please keep your hormones at bay until then, okay?

And...... time's up! Hirsch didn't hesitate in taking out his wand and casting a magical barrier between the two lovers, meaning that the flower and tickling spells were made abundant. "Uh, that was........... an interesting duel." Really and truly. Interesting. "I don't think I've heard of most of those pet names before."

Anyways.

"Congratulations, Miss Valke, you've taken the lead in this duel." Not that he was surprised, to be honest, if her answers in class were anything to go by. "And well done, Mr Nicolei, for putting up a great fight."
