His second duel and he was up against Evangeline. Adi had no idea how good she at dueling but he had seen her spell work in class and figured he would have some competition. This was good because he liked a bit of a challenge.

He turned to face her, a fair distance between them as he had already edged out so they could get the duel started. Yep, he was an eager beaver-badger! "I'm all set!'' Adi did one of the bows as his fingers curled around his wand. Uh, nope. He wasn't going to throw the first spell. He just wanted to wait to see what spell she would use first. That and the fact he was being a gentleman by letting her go first which so wouldn't help in a real duel but hey, it wasn't.

Evie had made the mistake of not watching in on the other duels in the first round. This resulted in her having no idea what kind of dueler Adi was or how skilled he was. She had never really talked to him before, so... honestly she was clueless. Regardless, Evie put all Hufflepuff notions and stereotypes aside and focused on her skill, precision and her desire to win.

The Ravenclaw entered the arena with her fellow classmate, returned the standard, proper bow and stepped back to take her stance, wand in front of her body. She focused in on the boy, making herself aware of every movement he made. Evie always made plans to use certain spells in her duels; ones she had been practicing and knew she could do well with. Of course, there was no telling how the other side would react, but she always had a Plan A and a Plan B.

And since he wasn't making a move, Plan A was in action.

Evie began the duel swiftly and effortlessly, first with attempting to trick the boy by sending multiple rounds of green sparks towards him with no spell attached. Three, to be exact. Three nonverbal distraction sparks. Instantly following the sparks, with no hesitation was the rope binding charm. Attached to it was the one spell she had been practicing the most since the last Defense class.

"Incarcerous Persequoris! She cast with the wand movement (line to the side and a flick foward), sending ropes flying towards the Hufflepuff. And, immediately after, in hopes of catching him either off gaurd, OR in ropes, she cast another spell with a flick of her wand. "Everte Statum!"

Evie made no delays in getting the duel started. This Adi didn't mind. He zoned in on her, all his focus on her and her spell work alone. He had learnt a great deal from his duel with Cutty and intended to use it all here.

However, his focus did not detour from thinking that the green sparks sent his way were attacks. He dodged all three but not before Adi realised Evie was about to send more spells at him. The fact that wand movements had to be done always gave away a caster's intentions even if the spells were non verbal. He saw something escaping the girl's wand but didn't wait to find out what it was. The Hufflepuff hit the floor on his stomach as though his life really depended on it, yo!

A fat lot of help hitting the ground helped though. ''Deletrius!'' He had aimed quickly at the rope following him. Good thing he had such a great aim thanks to years of cricket and Gobstone practice. Bye bye, rope and hello and another curse O_O Adi didn't realise another was headed his way until he suddenly found himself found himself being hurtled into the wall behind him, his back THUDDING into the solid object.

"Omph!'' His dark eyes shut as pain rocketed through him and he crumpled to the floor. Adi was down but not out! He gritted his teeth together, grasping his wand as he struggled to focus. "Flipendo!'' He had remained still all this while (not more than five to ten seconds) as he gathered himself but he moved quite suddenly, hoping to catch Evie off guard. And why stop there? He sent the Stickfast Hex her way.

The Hufflepuff was having no difficulty casting multiple spells in one go. He didn't know her that well enough to want to not harm her. She was putting up a good fight which he appreciated. Being a gentleman was over!

Senses alert and ready for Adi to return fire, Evie was (metaphorically) on her toes. Shame he disintegrated the ropes, but at least it slowed him down and it showed. It helped Evie prepare for what he was sending her way. Now that she had used much of her energy on her first row of spells, Evie had to be more careful with the attacks she chose next.

But first, it was time to protect herself. "Protego!" she shouted and threw back his own knockback jinx back to him in hopes to catch him off guard and make his spell back fire. A split second later another spell was headed her way, as she expected. Evie quickly stepped to the side, the spell brushing right past her and dispelling against the wall behind her.

With a quick flick of her wand, Evie shot her next spell, the Conjunctivitis curse at Adi. Then flicked her wand again and muttered, "Confundo." She wasn't letting up. Imagine being beat at dueling club by a Hufflepuff.

Quick! Defend yourself, Adi's brain shouted when he realised Evie was not just defending herself but hoping to throw the spell back at him. "Protego!'' He just defended himself and zoned in back on her. He knew very well she was going to throw more spells at him one after the other.

He was not disappointed.

Damn, this girl was good! But the Puff didn't have time to appreciate that right now. Adi quickly ducked the Conjunctivitis curse but not before it had managed to singe his precious hair. Yep, the light from the spell had managed to get at least and inch of the top of his hair and there was now that horrible smell lingering in the air.

Still there was no time to dwell on that. Adi had no shame in using the Shield charm again against the Confundus Charm. He was going back for Evie now. His back still hurt and his hair had been burnt. He was NOT in a good mood. "Silencio! Expelliarmus!'' Rapid- fire spell work happened.



OOC: Another round of Students

The faintest smirk appeared on Evie's lips when she saw and heard the boy's hair fry from her spell. It was a shame it wasn't .237 seconds earlier, or she would have gotten him. Still alert as ever, Evie quickly raised her wand and cast another shield spell, having a pretty strong feeling that he would return the rapid fire spells.

"Protego!" she shouted, casting a shield long enough to block the first spell. Then, instantaneously stepped and turned to the side to avoid the second spell. Sigh. Predictable, really. As she was turning, in the quickest split second, with her side towards Adi, eyes and ears alert, Evie snuck the tip of her wand between her other arm and her side and quietly muttered the Bat Bogey Hex. As she came back to her stance, the spell was flying at him, hopefully as a surprise that would make his bogeys attack him so she wouldn't have to get her hands dirty.

Despite the intensity of the duel, Adi still couldn't help but be impressed still. Perhaps him being impressed was what caused him to be caught unaware of the next spell to hit him so the next thing the Hufflepuff knew was that there were enlarged, winged boogies attacking him.

Covering his face with his hand instinctively, Adi for a moment fought to keep the attacking things at bay. But then... oh yeah. He could do magic! "Depulso!'' HA! Bye bye, boogies! Look at them fly away!

Right! Back to the duel!

The spell firing was happening quickly from both duelers, but Evie's focus was strong and steady. She watched only for a brief second as Adi's bogey's attacked him, and then soon after, two spells were being shot back at her. "Protego!" She shouted at the first one, and knocked the spell back to Adi. As she was doing this, she saw the next spell coming her way and quickly stepped to the side. He was fast, but not fast enough.

"Confundo! Expelliarmus!" Evie muttered them quickly, wand movement with each one, her focus not breaking. Come on, come on. She had to win this time.

His own spell was being sent back to him!

"Protego!'' Knowing that Evie would not waste time to attack him again, Adi wasted no time in acting. Thrice he used the spell in total though on the last attempt he used it to cast the Disarming spell BACK at Evie.

And for good measure... the Hufflepuff added the Curse of the Bogies as a bonus. COME ON! This time his spells had to hit! At least one of them. Sure, he could go for a while longer in this duel but his back was hurting him like heck and it was starting to affect his concentration.

Talk about a close call. Barely discernible close call. Letting out a breath as the grandfather clock struck the end of the duel, Sabel had to admit to himself that calling the winner on such a hairspan of a difference seemed a bit odd.

Still, rules were rules, and after the blue shield curtain had blocked all remaining spells, he moved into the center of the room. His gaze went between the two kids, before he nodded. "Hairspan. A hairspan of a difference. However, there must be a winner." And so, the gold spark went off above Adi's head. "Congratulations, Mr. Rehman."

Though, Shacklebolt still got a nod of approval, because really, quite well done.
