Kace thought he would make a visit to Professor Thompson. He wanted to ask about career options dealing with animals. I mean who better than to ask him right? He wanted to take care of creatures and possibly take care of dragons. I mean he had a calling for animals and a naturalness. As he reached his office he realized he was the only one here. He looked around and then had the courage to knock on the door.

Knock.....knock....knock......knock.......knock... ....

After a few seconds, he took a seat on the couch and enjoyed the nice scenery while waiting for the Professor to call him into his office. He was really enjoying the fireplace though.

Another year as Javy went on to cleaning his office. It was amazing how much dust accumulates over the course of the summer. After taking care of it he went on to open the window to bring in some freshness..

Knock.....knock....knock......knock.......knock... ....

First student of the year as Professor Thompson went over to open the door looking around before finding one of his oldest students sitting on the couch. "Ah, Mr. Lecium.. What can I do for you?"

As Kace was knocking on his door, he heard the door creak open and Professor Thompson was in today. He smiled and cleared his throat professionally before speaking. "Erm yes, hello Professor I am here to discuss some career options with you. I am interested in dealing with magical creatures when I get out of school. I mean I live on a farm and such and I have always loved animals.." he stopped hoping it didn't sound TOO cheesy or lame. "I also have a fascination with dragons and such too.." I mean if that detail helps.

Professor Thompson nodded as he listened to the elder Hufflepuff student explain his visit. Career options. Well, he was going to have to get some papers out then. "I see. In that case come on in. I'll fix you some tea while we go over your options." Stepping aside while keeping the door open, he waited until Mr. Lecium entered in before stepping in after.

Eden had a mission on her mind as she walked, notebook in hand, to see Professor Thompson in his natural element: his office. Or was that his natural element? Probably not, actually, since he was the Creatures professor.

Ooooh, the fireplace was night, especially since the November chill was setting in. She shivered and sat and waited.

She scribbled in her notebook some potential questions while she waited. She still wasn't even sure what angle she wanted for this article yet. She was going to gage the quotes she got and then figure that out....but that meant coming up with questions was a bit harder. Hmph.

Javier had a few things on his mind as he walked back to his office. Particularly involving sitting with the Daily Prophet and a hot beverage after his outing. Maybe making a call as well. The sight of the lit fireplace however postponed some of those thoughts.

Curiously looking to see who was waiting before addressing one of his students, "Miss McGee.." Goodness, how long had this student been waiting? Judging from how cold she looked had the Professor saying, "Come on in." She could discuss whatever she wanted to over some hot chocolate.

Puck was nervous alright when she made her way over to Professor Thompson’s seating area. So much so that she almost didn’t knock on the door, but she had to do just that. Taking her hand she rapped loudly on it, the panic was probably clear in the rapid knocking.

knockknockkock KNOCK KNOCK KNOCK oh god, something was wrong. Very wrong…and all of the kids who had captured and befriended the fairies would be so devastated…they needed to get to the bottom of this.

Well, after the recent news Javier had received back home some peace was needed. Lala was at home keeping his partner company so he was alone in his office. Rather than stay, he checked his watch. It was near feeding time so he went to collect the fresh bags in the corner.. when he heard some rapid knocking.

Either something was going on or someone was lacking in the patience department. Javy would much prefer that choice to be frank. Anyways, walking over with a bag slinged over his shoulder he opened the door to see..

"Miss Greyvson," Her face seemed a little troubled to the Professor. "What brings you here?" Had she lost something or needed some emergency last minute assistance on some work? Well, he didn't know just yet.

Puck was nervous that the animals had escaped…been trampled…gobbled up by some beast. Which yeah, that was explainable so when Professor Thompson opened the door she just gulped.

“Professor Thompson, it might be nothing but knowing Sod’s law is? And well, especially with Hogwarts” she was speaking rather quickly and had to remind herself to breath, take her time. Even if this was dire, it had to be understandably stated. “I went into the creatures housing to check on the faeries we caught and befriended a few years back? And well they are gone. All of them…” she stood there twisting her fingers around against the palm of her hand nervously as she spoke.

“Also…the Augurey’s are missing too?” She added almost as an after thought because, well, the Faeries were what she had gone to visit and well, feed. "Is it possible that we have some hungry creatures sneaking in from the forest and eating pets? Because I'd happily grab them some fish if that were the case," or her cat. But she wouldn't say that.

Between looking skeptical and confused with the mention of Sod's law, it went away when the Gryffindor Prefect mentioned the fairies, "Yes.." What about them he wondered briefly before the magical words were said. Gone. And not just the Fairies but the Augureys too?

He blinked. "..They're all gone?" How could that be as the Professor went over the arrangement in his head. Okay, so perhaps having one cage separating the two creature's own wasn't enough to stop the Augureys from feasting on the Fairies. But they were absent too? Something wasn't making sense to him given the old age of the Augureys made them unable to leave the barn. Did he perhaps miss a locking charm during the night and they escaped? He didn't think so but..

Hmm.. Professor Thompson may have missed out on the fish offering, but the rest of the message was loud and clear to him. "We'll have to see about that then." He then closed his office door behind him. "Let's go check the whole Housing, Miss Grevyson, with any luck they could just be hiding." And if that weren't the case then... well.. he'll deal with it.

Puck stood there and listened to Professor Thompson’s question, because really, something had to be off. “Yeah that’s at least what I noticed because it was a bit rainy when I walked down there? And usually the Augurey’s are well, loud when its raining or about to rain.” Really, they were almost dreadfully loud with their mournful sounds.

She hadn’t exactly checked if both of the old birds were still there, but the lack of sound wasn’t a good sign to begin with. “That’s why I came to find you Professor, because you might have noticed something that I missed,” she nodded calmly as she straightened her shoulders and looked toward the housing area, “should we start now then Professor?” Because if there was a chance they could be found? Well, that would be good. Great even.

It was the weekend and while most of the older students were at the local village, Marsha had decided this was the perfect time to do a few things. The first, was go for a run (outside of the corridors after her discussion with Professor Cassie) and to go and see if Professor Thompson was available. So, with that in mind, the first year had run here from the main door, running around the castle. She had a bright glow over her face as she got to the outer-office of the Creatures professor.

With a huge grin on her face from the exhilaration of the run, she rap-a-tat-tat’ed on his door and took a step backward. Her Mam had taught her that it was polite to stand a few feet from the door so that you wouldn’t be nose to nose with the person opening the door to you…. Though, that would only work if she was tall, but she still understood the manners behind it.

She would give him a minute, and then she would go and curl up in one of his chairs and read her textbook. After all, she would be doing that in her dorm room anyway so there was no difference to doing it here and simply waiting for Professor Thompson to come back.

Professor Thompson had been tidying up his office again, it was a weekly ordeal. Always at an early time in the off chance he earned a visitor or two. Javier was no Star Man, but he was right up there with the desire on keeping a tidy place and appearance.

Cue in the knocking.

His wand sucked up the last of the dust by Lala's pen. She had been back at home since the beginning of winter and wouldn't be back around until well... never mind. It was best he kept that thought out of his head as he opened the door to see who was waiting. Ahh..

"Miss Hanover," One of his bright first year students, "What brings you here today?" He waited on the seemingly patient young Gryffindor.

Although she had been ready to settle in and wait for the Professor, it seemed that wasn’t needed as the man opened the door quicker than she expected, cue the beaming smile at the man. ”Good afternoon Professor.” She said, greeting the man after he greeted her.

”Well, I had a question about the animals, Sir.” She was REALLY interested in the Griffins, but she wouldn’t say no to any animals… so she didn’t want to be too specific to start with. She didn’t know if he needed any help, but she figured that she could ask him. No harm in that. Hehe.

”I missing animals, Sir. We have stables at home and I help my Mam to look after them, clean out the stables, brush the horses and look after them in general. I got to see them over Christmas, but due to that I realised I was missing out... And I was wondering if I could help you look after some of the animals and creatures that we have here?” Marsha took a deep breath, and paused. Figuring she should let the Professor talk, especially as she hadn’t really let him say anything since he had asked her why she was here. Whoops.

A question she had? Well, Professor Thompson was all ears as he listened to her. Hmm.. Interesting.. So she wanted to help look after some of the creatures. "I see.. and did you have a specific set of creatures in mind?" If she didn't then that would make this very easy to answer. If she did well, that made it just as easy depending on the skill required of such.

”No!”

Whoops. That was too blunt, and fast and excited. Whoops. Breathe Marsha, breathe and actually talk to the Professor. She shook her head slightly, grinning a little embarrassed at him. ”No Professor… I don’t have any creatures in mind specifically. Any of them? All of them?!” She grinned a little more.

”I know that I can’t do a lot of the magical ways to clean and fed the creatures, but I’m willing to do it all without magic. It’s how we clean out the horses’ stables at home. We brush them by hand, clean their stalls and feed them… and that’s okay with me. I find it quite therapeutic actually.” Okay, once again with the babbling. What was it about teachers that made her just start talking and not know when to shut up? Urgh urgh oooops.

Cue the eyebrow raise at that.

Well, well. Someone was most enthusiastic about the job. "Luckily for you Miss Hanover, it's not necessary do it all without some magic here." Usually that was reserved for some sort of punishment. But then again, she was just starting this year and spells didn't come quite naturally for them at that age. "But if you insist, you are on the list of Creature Playmates so you are more than welcome to tend to any of the creatures that you feel need some extra care by any means that is best for them." Yep, there was her permission, but he couldn't help wondering, "Was there another reason for your interest in them?" Perhaps she wanted to care for some.. long term? Hm. The possibilities.

Marsha grinned as it was confirmed that she didn't need magic to help animals. Sure, she knew it would help but there were just as easy and reliable ways to help look after animals without magic... And she wasn't averse to hard work, especially if animals were involved.

The Welsh girls jaw went a little slack as he told her that she could look after the animals whenever she wanted and had the time. OOHH GRIFFIN!!! How amazing was that? Wheeee. She wanted to skip and run for joy, but she wasn't finished this conversation yet... Maybe she could get something else as well.

"Well, the one thing I was wondering... If I could care for some of the creatures over the next six and a half years? Or work with you..." Pause. Kinda, almost too long as she gathered her thoughts again.

"I dont really know, I just love animals and magical creatures and a few members of my family have done extra credit projects before they graduated... and I thought that there could be a way I could study animals for a longer period, science book a always say that data collected over a longer period has more chance of being accurate..."

Once again, she was babbling. Darn.

What a sweet girl. "I don't see why not.." In regards to her service with the magical creatures for the rest of her duration. "I usually recommend fifth and seventh years to start recording their history with caring for animals from as young as they can remember." Perhaps her starting this early could have it's.. benefits. "Do you already have a journal log of your own?"

Marsha’s face was going to get sore if she kept this grinning up, but she could neither help nor stop it as the Professor told her that he could see any problems with her helping with the creatures for her duration at Hogwarts. Just when it seemed like learning Magic and being at Hogwarts was as cool as it could get; teachers like Thompson and Quiggley came along and helped you in their own time… but to be fair, almost all of the teachers that she had, were awesome.

Marsha listened to what was being sad and she couldn’t help the smile - surely that meant that doing it properly from twelve years old was a good thing. Hehe. Slowly, however, she shook her head. ”Nothing proper, Sir. I have pictures of me with our various pets, and I could write down all of the information I can remember about them… at least I would have it written down now?”

More writing about herself. Between this and History of Magic’s homework assignment she’d never want to talk, think or write about herself again. Ha. BUT this was about the animals, so that was more than okay.
