Let's throw some paint: Eagle House Pride Activity!
Timeline: This activity takes place on Saturday afternoon down by the black lake on the grass. A week has transpired after the opening feast.
As you head down from the castle with the last of the summer warmth shining on your face, you spot what looks like a field. On the field you see lots of trees, tree trunks, boulders, portions of stone walls, and other materials that make for good hiding places. Professor Tanner can be seen walking around putting up the finishing touches on the field. The house leaders aren’t taking any risks this term after the tragic death last year: a force field is up to keep unwanted visitors of the creature kind out and for no eagles to stray out of the field and into the Forbidden Forest. If you bump into the force field you will not be injured, you’ll just be nudged gently backwards.
When you come to the entrance of the field you’ll see that Mr Kitridge is already standing there waiting for you with what could only be recognized as paint stains on his clothes.
OOC: Welcome to term 40 all you lovely and amazing eagles! Take a seat on the grass and the reason why your HoH has paint stains on his otherwise clean clothes will be revealed. Make sure you have your wand with you; wear clothes that can get dirty and comfortable shoes. No high heels, sorry girls.
Dressed in an old hoodie and sweatpants with her hair tied up in a messy bun, Sophie moved with a very chipper spring in her step as she headed down toward the lake where Kitridge was waiting. As she neared him, a smile grew upon her face, and she very dutifully SALUTED him and greeted cheerfully, "Hi, sir. You've got a little something..." she gestured vaguely to all the paint stains on his clothes, just teasing him. OBVIOUSLY he knew those were there. She was just pulling his leg. "...everywhere."
Sophie peeked behind her at the school to see if anyone else was coming yet, then she stood beside the Head of House, facing the school, and crossed her arms with her wand in hand, trying to look cool and important beside him as they waited for the rest of the house to show up.

Josette had heard mention of something happening for her housemates down by the lake & she had assumed that it must have been something important. She was wearing an old pair of jeans, a simple t-shirt & plaid button-down (neither of them favourites) & some pair of sneakers she used to practice Quidditch with in. Her hair was pulled back in a ponytail & the only thing she was carrying with her, out of habit, was her wand.
As she approached the lake she took notice of Mr. Kittridge standing waiting for everyone to arrive with a Sophie Brown! Nearing closer to the pair, she also noticed that the head of her house's clothes had....paint stains on them? Her eyebrow slowly raised a little bit, but she smiled politely, "H-Hello Mr. K-Kittridge...H-Hi Sophie..." Josette took a glance around noticing she was one of the first to arrive & she bit felt a bit awkward arriving so early. "U-Um..did I arrive t-too soon?"
Should she go back up to the castle & wait a few moments, because she could certainly do that?

An event in which he got to wear all his oldest, grossest and therefore comfiest clothes? HECK YEAH BENZI WAS IN.
Happily walking down to the Ravenclaw event in his worn out grey slacks, trainers and an even older navy blue hoodie that he'd promised his Mum he'd throw out, Benzi's grin stayed firmly in place as he spotted the small group of people already present. Ahem. Head of House and small group of girls present. Even better.
"Hey Mr. Kitridge, remember me?" he asked as he slowed to a stop and stuck his hands in his pockets. It was doubtful that he did, having not visited the library a lot as a first year, but it would be cool if he did.
"Hey Sophie," nods to her, "and.. hey," a lopsided grin to the other two girls.

Abby smiled at the boy who had just arrived and said hello and said "Hey" Abby was just being polite and knew that she had a great opportunity to make some new friends in her own house
Eden was in HIGH HIGH HIGH spirits beCAAAUUUUUSE and THING happening with a certain SOMEONE tonight and ewfqurfiulf. She just couldn't wait. So. THIS WAS GOING TO BE GREAT. AND FUN. AND AWESOME.
A few people were here already, like Sophie and Benzi and Abby and cute little Josie, heh.
So....OUTSIDE. THIS WAS EDEN'S FAVORITE THING about this little partaaaaay. It was OUTSIDE and Eden loved it and KFHRHIHRIF IT FELT SO NICE OUT HERE. The blue-eyed girl skipped over towards the small clutter and smiled at everyone. She stopped next to Benzi and felt.........GOOD feelings towards the boy now. It had taken a week for her to sort out that even if she was UPSET about Cutty things, it didn't mean she needed to be upset with Benzi. SO there. Eden McGee could be mature and whatnot.
See?
"Hi, Professor--" she said with a nod. And yeah...he had paint......everywhere.

.............Not that it was anything against the other Ravenclaws...but Gabriel only felt a sense of dread as he approached the lake. There were a million and one other things he needed to be attending to at the moment.
But....he was there, nonetheless.
Dressed in a worn set of clothes and trainers, he joined the already assembled group...seeing a more familiar face in the mass. Josie. She'd interned at WHiM this summer, too. Meaning, she was instantly more tolerable by default.
Gabe was just going to stand with her, then.

She didn't know what was happening and she didn't know what to expect and that meant it would probably be the most exciting thing that happened all week. She knew it involved paint, though, obviously. Look at Kitridge; it looked like he got in a fight with.... paint... buckets. Real clever, Evie. Nice.
Hurrying her way down the grounds after the majority of her classmates, Evie hopped right next to Sophie and linked her arm with hers. She also gave Benzi and Eden a wide grin and a wave. She was looking forward to getting into SHENANIGANS with them.

It didn’t take long for more of her housemates to start arriving & she immediately felt very relieved not to be the only there besides Sophie. The first two to arrive were some students she wasn’t very familiar with, but they did smile at her & give a greeting, which of course she gave a polite wave in return. Then Eden had arrived & Josie smiled in the older girl’s direction.
Next to arrive was another person she recognized, Gabe Banner, otherwise known as the house Prefect. Not to mention she had also seen him this passed summer while they were both interning at WHiM. She would have asked him how his summer had been, but he looked as if he might have been upset, so she chose not to intrude on his privacy & ask. BUT she did however smile at him when he had stood beside her.

Chris wandered down to the lake following some older people. Older people knew what they were supposed to be doing right? Well he hoped so anyway or he was going to get really lost. His eyes widened at the professory person standing there with paint on his clothes. Where they painting??? He was all for that. Though the professor must not be very good if he got it all over them. And what was with the layout of this place. He shrugged and walked around trying to find someone he knew and could sit next to.
Not seeing any kids his age he sighed a little and wandered off to find a good spot to sit and wait. He sat down watching all the students and picking at the grass. Why was it so dang quiet??

Having finished the last touches on the field, Tiara began to head for the group that was forming around Leobald. Her clothing was similarly messy, though not in the same way as Kitridge's - more like dirt, grass, and other natural-looking spots. But no doubt about it, she was prepared to get down and dirty today.
Wiping her brow, she arrived at the small group of Claws gathered already. "Is this everyone?" she directed at no one in particular, gazing up towards the castle in search of more eagles.

... this was so not Tia's idea of an amazing bonding activity. Getting dirty? REALLY Tanner? Kitridge? What were they playing at? If it was up to the fifteen year old, she would have much preferred being cooped up in the common room with popcorn and historical movies. But it wasn't her choice and this WAS in the name of getting to know her fellow Ravenclaws.
So despite her futile mental scoldings and protests, Tia arrived at the 'field' with her hair tied back in a ponytail, wearing a t-shirt and sweatpants and converse sneakers.
"I'm here, sorry," Tia said apologetically. But she was NOT sitting on the grass, even if she was dressed down. She was just going to stand and wait for further instructions.

"Welcome, Miss Mancini, no need to be sorry," she said to the second-year transfer. "Anyone behind you?" she asked the girl, casting her gaze around.
Well, couldn't hurt to get started, at least. "Right, you lot. On your feet, wands out, and listen up." She gave them a moment to follow the instructions. "You're going to need the Pingo spell for our activity. Wand motion is just a point, no jabbing, and you say your favorite color afterwards." She was purposely NOT telling them what would happen when they did so... because some of them wouldn't have learned this spell yet.
She tried to suppress a mischievous grin. "Your turn! Just.. don't aim at anyone's eyes, please." No injuries would make for a good day. "Give it a whirl and then we'll be able to get started!"
OOC: The Pingo spell will shoot paint bubbles out of the tip of your wand in the color that your character says!

Penelope was here sort of on time? She might have been a little bit late, but she heard Professor Tanner's instructions. Pingo. She knew what this spell did. Why didn't they ever have the sitting around and reading kind of house bonding activities? A house book club seemed much more interesting to her. Something that involved reading and learning would be way better than this. Oh, they were going to practice Pingo now? Penelope kept her wand aimed towards the ground so as not to accidentally get paint in anyone's eyes. "Pingo purple!" Oooh, purple paint!
Pingo? That was such a funny name for a spell! It was like a board game, or something you named a children's toy. Maybe that was what happened when you cast it. A little toy in that color came out. Oooh, that would be useful around babies. Maybe Ophelia should suggest that to Austin, seeing as he had a baby sis. Maybe toys would warm her up?
And what exactly was this bonding activity? Why were they all in old clothes? Not that the blonde didn't appreciate the value of a nice pair of sweatpants and trainers, -thank you by the way for this marvelous opportunity in comfort- but there were several things that could be happening right now and that fact scared her.
At least she listened to instructions. It was something the short girl was working on, and something she was beginning to get pretty good at. Full-hearted attentiveness. And the trait DID have it's advantages. Like the fact that now she understood how to do the spell better than if she didn't listen. And now there was another spell the third year could possibly do. Doing random spells was always cool, especially if they lead to fun or helped someone out along the way.
Anywho, it was time to practice said spell, and Ophelia felt ready. Putting her white trainers firmly into the grass, the little blonde pointed her wand towards a spot in front of her near the ground -just in case- and said the spell.
"Pingo Green!' OOOOOH! Green bubbles had shot from her wand, making the teen smile. This had to be one of the coolest spells ever. No lie. Imagine how easy painting would be! Rooms getting painted in record time! Why had nobody opened a painting service, kicked muggles out of their home for like four hours, painted the walls with this spell and then kicked back? It was a cheap and dirty way to make money, but it WAS a way to make money and that was always cool.
Though she wanted to try the spell again, Ophelia looked up at the adult and let what was going to happen dawn on her. YES A THOUSAND TIMES YES HOLY SMOKES AND OH MERLIN ON A TRICYCLE YES! They were going to paint war, weren't they? Old clothes so they didn't have tie-dye robes. No pointing at eyes because nobody in their right mind wanted paint in their eyes. It all made sense. It was an act of mischief, and Ophelia knew mischief well. She tried really hard to not smile ear to ear with realization at the fact that this year was going to have the coolest bonding activity ever!

Sophie Brown was READY FOR ACTION.
Leo was quietly inspecting the paint stains visible on his clothes after he and Tiara had tested out the field shooting paint bubbles at each other. It had been awfully fun and even relaxing oddly enough. It let tensions fly which he didn’t even know he carried around. As Sophie approached clad in hoodie and sweatpants Leo grinned. "Hello Sophie," winking he looked down at himself and stated. "I guess I do. And so will you in a bit. How was your summer?"

The next girl to arrive was Josette who Leo noted with satisfaction had also followed the clothing code for the event. Flashing the fifth year girl a big smile he said "Good afternoon Josette. I hope you had a lovely summer vacation?" Shaking his head at her question Leo answered. "You’re not too early, everyone will be here soon. Some probably realized that they needed to switch shoes and clothes before coming down here." And if they were girls they probably needed some time to obsess over just what they wanted to wear.

A few minutes later Abby joined them on the grass. Grinning at the fourth year he said "Hello Abby, did you have a good summer?" It was nice to see that the notice on the announcement board had reached more than just a few students. The more the merrier and it’d be better for the fun of the activity.

The first boy that came down from the castle dressed in grey slacks, trainers and a hoodie he didn’t exactly recognize at first glance. Something was familiar about him. Racking his brain he questioned uncertainly. "Good afternoon, you're Benzi Rider right that is just coming back to Hogwarts after a few years absence?" He still remembered reading the letter he had gotten from the boy’s parents earlier this past summer with a recent photograph of Benzi attached.

In Eden’s wake Gabe came down dressed in worn clothes and trainers. It was nice that both of his prefect’s had arrived and was there to get in on the paint action. The next girl to come down and joined the group was Evangeline. Flashing the senior girl a smile Leo called over. "It's good to see you again Evangeline. How was your summer vacation?" Counting the number of senior students present Leo wondered where all the younglings had gotten to? Had they been scared off by the mention of paint? He hoped not. As TiaMarie showed up Leo flashed her a big beam. "Good afternoon Tia, did you have a good summer vacation?" Giving his watch a quick glance he was about to signal for Tiara to come over and get things rolling but she seemed to have been reading his mind. She demonstrated the paint spell they were using for the day and ordering everyone to practice.
Leo gave the students about 5 minutes to get familiar with the spell before he waved everyone to gather in a circle around him."We’re going to play a little paint game using the spell you’ve just learned in the field and Protego. Sophie will lead the bronze team and Gabriel will lead the blue team." He paused a moment or two let it sunk in before he continued. "Using the Pingo spell you've just practiced and Protego you’ll work your way through the field behind us. When you encounter someone in the field you will attempt to strike them with a paint bubble. Vigilance and readiness will allow you to strike first but awareness can prevent you from being attacked. One you’ve been struck once by either a bronze or blue paint bubble you’ll join either Sophie or Gabriel’s team. Be vigilant and have fun! We’ll give more details when everyone has a team. So get out into the field and hide!"
Rules
There are only two teams; bronze and blue. Your goal is to recruit the other playing students to the team. When you’ve joined either Sophie or Gabriel’s team you help them to recruit the other playing eagles to that team until everyone is teamed up.
You will be shooting paint bubbles at each other. Only one action per post. One person will shoot the bubble and one person will RP the outcome.
You may either shoot a paint bubble or RP the outcome (block or burst) in your post. There must be at least one post between yours. (See the example if necessary)
If you’ve been hit ONCE with either Bronze or Blue paint bubble then you must join that team.
Include as much detail in a post as you want but please include who is being shot at/hit AND the colour. Please mark these by underlining and colouring or bolding the respective words.
Please wear the appropriately coloured avatar so teams can recognize each other.
Mr Kitridge and Professor Tanner will also be participating and are elligable to be hit with paint.

Okay, so as far as the heads of the teams Benzi assumed it was pretty clear which one he liked more. But, then again, it would be great fun to hit Sophie Brown in the face with a great splotch of blue paint. And he had a feeling Crazy Eyes could be a good person to have on his team, mostly because he was pretty sure she used those insane orbs she called eyes in her Legilimency practices to get people off guard then BAM, instant access to a person's thoughts. So no, no thanks, he'd like Crazy Eyes on his team please. Better have that face be directed at someone else.

There were LOTS of friendly faces there, and as they arrived, Sophie greeted all of them - especially Josie, Benzi, Eden, Gabe, Eves, Tia, but she made a point of giving extra smiles to Abby, Chris, and Ophie, too, as she didn't know them well. Tanner was there, too, and Sophie was pleased when the woman got them all started - PINGO. She knew what that was, and the sixth year watched with a grin as the others tried the spell out.
Oooh, this was going to be fun.
PUMPED and ready to go, Sophie bounced on her heels as Kitridge explained the rules. Simple enough, it was, though she would've rather been blue because blue was way prettier. But BRONZE was well-known as a trophy color while BLUE was not, so bronze was clearly superior. It may have signified third place, but that was better than BLUE which didn't signify ANYTHING, so... TEAM BRONZE WAS THE WAY TO GO.
But... Eden AND Benzi were betraying her? HER OWN FRIENDS? Sophie VERY POINTEDLY wrinkled her nose at both of them and surveyed the rest of her housemates. "C'mon, guys. Tanner and I've got it going on. Gabe's got his book smarts, but TEAM BRONZE's got PIZZAZZ. STYLE. FLAIR. ENERGY. We've got what it takes to WIN!" she grinned, her tone light and playful, and raised a hand to high-five Tanner in ENTICING CAMARADERIE.

This was already stressful. Gabe was STRESSED. Did they see that? It was written all over the Seventh Year's face.
.......but if Eden was deciding she wanted to play nice...and if this rude new, yet NOT new, person wanted to work with him...Well, he wasn't really in a position to turn it down, was he? No, no....Gabe wasn't.
Offering both Ravenclaws a subtle nod, he looked towards those still assembled. As a rule, he wasn't one to be vocal about these things...or most other things. So, it was awkward trying to do so now. And Gabe was an awkward turtle. It's just WHO he was. No helping that issue.
"Would anyone else like to join us?"....because he could do strategy. Yep. Also, were they getting Mr. Kitridge....since Professor Tanner had made her choice? A fishy choice, at that. Gabe wasn't a believer in the 'girl power' stuff. It was better to have a mix.
Equality, essentially.

Eden smiled as Benzi decided to be on her team. WASN'T THAT GREAT. Why did Benzi make her think of Cutty? Was it from their little chat?
She pushed that part of her FEELS aside and just smiled. Okay. She could do this. Gabe and Benzi. A team. BLUE. TEAM BLUE. She glanced at Gabe to see if he was...all awkward and nervous, which, no surprised, he was, and she kind of felt a need to tell him it'd be all right. But she didn't know how to say it without him...taking it the wrong way. So she just took a deep breath and glanced around.
"TEAM BLUE? ANYONE?" She asked loudly.
And then, she turned to the boys. "Gabe, I assume you have a strategy?" She asked, and then she looked at Mr. Kitridge. He would be a good asset, too. "I have decent aim. I also like winning." Both valuable QUALITIES okay?

The fifth year stood there feeling very awkward after Mr. Kittridge explained to them what they would be doing today, which was painting one another against each other on teams with the Pingo spell. Yes, she was rather familiar with the spell, being the studious Ravenclaw she was, but she had no idea that they'd be using it now of all times.
It was soon time for everyone to either join Sophie's Bronze Team or Gabe's Blue Team. She bit her lip nervously as she tried to figure out whose team she was on. From the looks of it, seeing as to how she was already standing beside Gabe, it would have been much easier for her just to stay there & just look like she was on the older's boy team. Right?
But, Sophie was her friend. And Sophie was seeming to be much more ecstatic about this, which made Josie a bit less nervous than she was already feeling. No offense Gabe, but his abrupt silence was making her nervous. Although, she had no room to talk seeing as to how she had her own trouble with speaking. She looked at Gabe apologetically as she said, "B-Best of luck..", before giving a small smile followed by a nod as she slowly made her way over to stand beside Sophie. Phew, that part was over.
"Y-Yay Bronze team.." She smiled nervously before looking to Sophie for approval with her attempt of recruiting other housemates to their team.

They were supposed to team up now? Which team were they supposed to join? Did they chose which team to be on? It looked like they got to pick what team they wanted to be on. What team should she pick? Both teams had people who she would want to be on a team with. This was going to be a lot harder than she thought it would be. Why was it always so difficult to chose what side to be on. Okay, just going to somewhat randomly chose a team to be on, equal chances for either team. "Team blue!" Penelope walked over to join Mr. Kitridge, Gabe and her other housemates on team blue.
