Their numbers seemingly growing, yet another herd descends upon the entrance hall. A clear destination in mind, they quickly became distracted by some tantalizing smells coming from within the Great Hall itself.

"I smell something juicy," announced one as it began bounding off towards the door.

"We do not have time for that!" sneered another, whacking its companion over the head with one of its great hairy legs.

"Just a quick bite," pleaded a third.

What a sight for anyone happening to pass by, bickering acromantulas.

The Gryffindor was whistling a random tune from a song he heard on the muggle radio once. He wasn’t sure what the name was called… But it was a good one. With his stomach full and happier than an hour ago, Yoongi left the Great Hall to go back to the library to study now that he gotten Zander’s OWL notes.

Seriously, the Prefect was the best that he would help hi………

O_________O His eyes widened at the sight of not one, not two but THREE acromantulas standing there, bickering about something and he seemed to be frozen on the spot for a second before he ducked down next to the central staircase . Had they seen him?! WHAT WERE THEY DOING HERE?! He needed to warn somebody. Grabbing his wand, Yoongi darted towards the direction of the staircase going to the different floors. Hopefully unnoticed...

With nothing to do in particular on this fine day, Adi had taken to randomly using the Scouring Charm to get rid of what webs he could. He was VERY careful not to let ANY touch him. Icky, sticky things.

And he was singing too, as he came down from a staricase! Not at the top of his lungs to bother anyone but if anyone passed him, they certainly could hear him singing a song that was done by the ancient band called The Who. "I can see for miles and miles, I can see for miles and miles
I can see for-''

HUH?

What was that arguing all about? Adi peeked around only to catch sight of... Acromantulas! GREAT FLYING HIPPOGRIFFS! Catching movement out of the corner of his eyes, he looked over to see Yoongi who was coming right towards him. ''Did you see them too?'' he whispered urgently and peeking around the corner again. Yeah, Acromantulas were there, alright. His eyes weren't deceiving him.

ADI! THANK MERLIN!

No wait, he alone was not good enough. No offence but he knew what had happened to the other Prefects last year. News travels you know? Yoongi stopped running and ducked down beside the Hufflepuff Prefect.

“I did, what are they doing here?” he whispered back as he peeked around the corner after Adi did. “I was on my way to warn a Professor, I was thinking the defence professor , he would know what to do right?!” he whispered urgently. There was panic in his eyes but he was trying to keep himself together. He wasn’t a going right in to battle type of Gryffindor, never was. He preferred to use strategy. “We should go together, what if they spot you while I run for help? You can’t possibly beat three of them right?” if he could, he was impressed.

On her way down the stairs, Penelope nearly bumped into Adi and a Gryffindor boy who seemed to have stopped on the stairs for some reason. Penelope peeked around and saw... Acromantulas!!! If Penelope had been the sort of girl who screamed, she would have, but she wasn't and she remained quiet. "Adi? We should go find a professor." It would best for everyone if they stayed together so no one ended up as acromantula food.

"Do you know the spell Arania Exumai? The wand movement is like a sideways 8." Arania Exumai was supposed to push the acromantulas away. After what had happened last year she had decided that she should learn the spell, but she had never had to use it on an actual acromantula. What if she tried it but it didn't work and they got eaten by acromantulas? She had practiced on things like the practice dummies, but they wouldn't eat her if she got the spell wrong. Hopefully they wouldn't get close enough to the acromantulas to actually need to use the spell.

Adi ducked hastily ducked down when Yoongi joined him. He was already gripping his wand in case any more of the giant arachnids decided to show up. GOSH! You could never tell where they may be lurking!

"I dunno,'' he said, still whispering. "You think after what happened last year with Gregorie made them want flesh even more?" Ugh! That was a SCARY thought. Adi looked closer at Yoongi. Yep, there was a panic attack on its way. "Stay calm, Yoongi. Yeah, Dakest would be best for this. I hope he's in his office.'' Adi cast another look over at the spiders. Maybe they were still having their argument.

"No way I can take on three of them at once. I'd be a goner in minutes.'' He was good at magic but not THAT good. So together it would be for him and Yoongi to go get the Defense man but his attention was diverted again but this time it was to Penelope who had just joined them. "Careful! Don't let them see you.'' Gosh, he was kind of responsible for hers and Yoongi's safety, wasn't he? Adi flashed the fourth year a grin. "That's brilliant, Penelope!'' Yeah, that sure was sure to come in handy. "Guys? Should we get out of here now? You know, just in case the acromantulas get a whiff of us.''

Just in case the acromantulas get a whiff.

Words spoken too late, Hufflepuff.

Rearing back in its back for legs, the largest of the group waved its front ones wildly to silence the others.

"THIS WAY!" it roared, scurrying across the ground towards the trio of foolish jabbering students. "One for each of us!"

One lone acromantula, the youngest of the bunch, took off towards the inside of the Great Hall. A certain smell in there too tantalizing to resist.

The others followed instructions, one scampering up and along the wall close enough to one of the human's (FearlessLeader19) and grabbing him by the robes with his pincers.

Oh, heck.

Adi heard that 'shout' from one of the arachnids. "GUYS! GET OUT OF HERE!" He grabbed Yoongi and Penelope to haul them to their feet before shoving them ahead of him. Maybe that act was why one of the acromantulas had caught up with him so quickly. Before Adi could so much as take a single step after his friends, he was grabbed which caused him to loose his footing and fall forwards. One of his elbows got banged up on the hard floor but in his attempt to get away from the creature, the pain was hardly noticed.

"I'm NOT dying today!'' he thought with determination. The sixth year turned as best as he could to face his attacker which was still grasping his robes. "ARANIA EXUMAI! ARANIA EXUMAI!''

Take THAT, Spiders! EXPLOSIONS FOR YOU!

This Puffer was not going down without a fight.

Spell work PLUS the necklace they had made from Basilisk fangs would keep him safe, riiiight? Adi was hoping Professors Cassie's and Glendy's idea worked.

Henric was just getting out from the kitchens, a pumpkin pastry in his hands when suddenly he heard a commotion upstairs.He wasn't sure if he should go up or if it was any of his business. The noise was getting even louder! What in the world?! He slowly made light footsteps up the stairs, craning his neck to see what was going on. But his eyes grew wide when he saw big giant spidery legs moving past quickly right on top of him.He cursed mentally in his head, how those things got in here?! His pumpkin pastry momentarily forgotten, he backed away slowly...but jumped when he heard a bloodcurdling scream not far from where he stood. OH MERLIN! Was that Adi's screaming!! He could recognised his voice from anywhere! HOLY CRICKETS! Adi was in trouble!

What should he do?! What should he do?! He was too young to die! But his friends were in trouble! He had to help....oh dear..oh dear...he wouldn't want to be the next victim to be eaten alive.

They needed to get out of here now, before the acromantulas- One for each of us? Too late. The acromantulas wanted to eat them! When Adi shoved her in front of him she started to run up the stairs. Where was Adi? Penelope turned around to face the acromantulas. AN ACROMANTULA HAD ADI! This Hufflepuff was not going to die today. Oh good, he was casting arania exumai at the acromantula. Aiming first at the one that had grabbed Adi and then at the other two acromantulas she cast. "ARANIA EXUMAI! ARANIA EXUMAI! ARANIA EXUMAI!" Now would be a good time to run.

They needed to get Adi. Aiming her wand at Adi this time she cast, "Carpe Retractum!" Hopefully that would pull Adi closer to her without an acromantula in tow. Penelope started to run up the stairs.

Oh heeeey Ravenclaw girl who he did not know! Nice meeting you here in this dangerous situation.

Yoongi nodded his head at her , there would be time for introductions later because first they had to get out of here. Her idea of using arania exumai was brilliant , something he had not thought about. Of course she was a Ravenclaw, she obviously used her head in this situation. Actually, if only a slytherin student came here It would be like a house bonding.

“I know it “ the fifth year whispered as he looked at Adi , confirming that he also knew the spell. His eyes were still wide and his heart was pounding in his chest but the Prefect’s words calmed him down a bit. At least he wasn’t alone. Then again, that student who died last year because of an acromantula attack also had people with him. And he knew what happened to that poor guy.

Knowing he was only scaring himself, Yoongi took a deep breath. And then Adi SHOUTED at them to get out of there and without realising what was happening, he felt himself lifted up and without question he RAN. He ran up the stairs without looking back. He was on the second staircase when he heard Adi’s voice shouting incantations and the Gryffindor thought he was keeping the spiders at a distance. He glanced a look over the staircase railing and his heart skipped a beat.

The Prefect was not attacking the spider from a distance. The spider HAD HIM! “ADI! USE ALARTE ASCENDARE, WE LEARNED IT IN CHARMS!” If he could throw the spider up in the air and use that time to run away he might have a chance. He would have tried it himself but he did not have a good shot without harming Adi as well. Plus he had to keep an eye on the other two spiders.

And another student entered the scene. He seemed to be frozen on the spot but it was a good thing he was here. "YOU! HUFFLEPUFF BOY!" He shouted and pointed a finger at him. "WATCH OUT! THERE ARE THREE OF THEM!" He looked at Adi and the Ravenclaw girl helping him out. "KEEP YOUR GROUNDS FOR A MINUTE! I'LL BE BACK,PROMISE!"

It was hard but he HAD to leave and notify an adult. Even if they worked together it would be tough but with a professor here they might stand a chance. He ran up the staircase as fast as he could. Throwing Arania Exumai spells over his head in case the spiders followed him.

Did the Korean fifth year boy just gave his position away?! And wait, did he say there were three of them nasty beasts!? Okay, he was done for. No doubt about it. Goodbye mom and dad, I love you. But Adi and the Ravenclaw girl were fighting for their lives, and his friends were in danger of those things. He needed to do something quick and alert everyone in the castle, but how? He noticed the hanging portraits on the walls and pointed at them,they were bound to move after seeing what was happening right in front of their eyes! Hogwarts students were in danger!"You there! Go get help quickly! Inform the headmistress!"he shouted. Henric knew he wasn't afraid if it meant that he could save the others before it was too late. Throwing his precious pumpkin pastry onto the floor, he took out his wand and aimed directly to the giant arachnid that was after them. Concentrating all his will power onto that creature,"ARANIA EXUMAI! ARANIA EXUMAI!". He had a plan,he needed to run back to the kitchens, houseelves could help save them.

Ilia had been crying all day, off and on. This month was horrible , this place was horrible, her life was horrible. There were merlin forsaken webs from those horrible disgusting soul destroying things all around and she couldn't take it. Her poor princess was gone because of them.

She was on her way to the hall to get something sweet, to drown some of her sorrow. She was probably going to make herself fat before she really felt any better about anything. As she walked in though, she heard the spider throwing spell. Why was she hearing that, what in Merlin's name!?

When her eyes took in the sight, she could barely believe them. Not only one of the gargantuan eight legged cretins were in the hall, but THREE!!!!!????? What was happening, why, how, all of the back processes going on in her mind were distant as her eyes started seeing red. To make matters worse, one of the evil hulking menaces had their pinchers on one of her boys!!!! Amidst the incantations, Ilia aimed for hairy spider backs. "INCENDIO!" She practically screamed in her rage, with all the will she possessed.

Each spell had little to no effect on the acromantulas as they moved about. Although one did do a little bit of stop, drop, and roll to try and extinguish the flames upon its back. The screaming only excited them more.

Sensing one human running away (DuckyLinJi), an arachnid turned to pursue, but instead took off towards the smallish looking human (griffin). Yes. She would make a tasty snack...

Still smoldering and flames licking its rump, the acromantula turned and charged towards the human (VRSCIKA) who had attacked it.

The acromantula with the boy's (FearlessLeader19) robes between its pincers quickly moved into position to begin wrapping him up in web as though the Hufflepuff were nothing more than a tiny insect. A foul scent registered with it as it worked, but that was all that occurred. A faint laugh may have been heard from the arachnid. Human fleshies were so daft. Spinning around, the acromantula positioned its pincers just so, snipped, and pulled back. Soon the boy's necklace was in pieces on the floor.

The smaller acromantula that had entered the Great Hall came back just at this moment and scurried up behind the remaining human (Symphora). A whole turkey clutched in its pincers triumphantly. "I GOT ONE I GOT ONE!" Mother would be so proud of its first catch!

Henric didn't expect the attack from behind him and so he fell forward from the sudden force. However he was quick to break his fall with his arms, he wasn't a martial arts judo trainee for nothing. Henric had only a fraction of a second to roll over onto his back before he was lifted up by the small giant arachnid's mighty pincers. Thankfully it only got his uniform, but its sharp edges did graze the length of his arm,causing him to wince in pain."LET GO OF ME!" he shouted as he kicked as hard as he could into its many eyes with his feet. He hoped he temporarily blinded it so he had enough time to cast the revulsion jinx,"RELASHIO!"

"IMPEDIMENTA!" The spell he cast next to slow the beast from attacking him further. With sheer determination to live and thinking about his love ones, he would not die in the hands of a magical creature without giving his all. For his toadette Princess too! Henric fiercely pointed his wand directly into its eyes,"BOMBARDA MAXIMA!ARANIA EXUMAI!"

Bouncing in place with the whole turkey still clutched in its pincers to show its siblings, it was NOT expecting a shoe to the face from the human (Symphora). Rearing back, the whole turkey went flying through the air and landed on the floor some distance away with a stomach churning SPLAT.

"MY FEAST MY FEAST!" it screeched, somehow managing to avoid all the incoming spells as it stumbled around the area with its legs flailing wildly about looking for the whole turkey.

"Aletag! What are you doing!?" sneered the one working on its web cage around the human (FearlessLeader19). Dropping the boy to the ground (not enough to cause any serious injury), it scaled the wall and waved it's legs towards its sibling as they scurried further and further in the other direction. Hissing and momentarily forgetting its prey, it scurried after its idiotic sibling. "LEAVE IT! IT'S JUST AS WORTHLESS AS THAT ROCK YOU TRIED TO EAT! MOTHER SAID..." Scurrying right into the line of fire of one of the spells being cast.

Attention elsewhere, the spell threw the arachnid off course and blasted it off the wall. Hole in the wall, rubble raining down, and acromantula now fumbling to pull itself back on its eight legs as it spun around like a top on the floor, it began shooting web from its spinnerets.

Meanwhile, the one know as Aletag continued looking for its precious whole roasted turkey.

Goody! Penelope and Yoongi were scrambling up the stairs. A typical Hufflepuff he was, sending his friends ahead of him. But then Penelope was turning back to help him. Okaaay, so he could use the help as he struggled to free himself from the pincer grasp. And before he knew it, the Ravenclaw was using the Seize and Pull Charm on him. BRILLIANT, Penelope! Maybe that and the other spell would be enough for them ALL to get away from the arachnids.

BUT WHERE WAS YOONGI GOING? And who was he calling Hufflepuff boy? In the fray, he was able to make out Henric’s voice though he couldn’t hear exactly what was being said. Henric! Nooooo! What was he doing here?! But seeing his friend there jolted his determination even more because Henric reminded him of Benny. “Sorry, Benny,’’ the Hufflepuff thought, still fighting against the spider. He knew how his best friend felt about the other boy. Adi and Benny had plans together for their future sooooo he must get out of here alive. He wanted to have his riding school and Hippogriff/ Unicorn farm!

Adi began inching forward, due to the Seize and pull charm (surely his robes would fray any moment and free him) but it was that fierce voice casting the incantation for the Fire Making Charm that had him focusing upwards again. ILIA! MAN! He had never seen her look so… angry? EVER! Yow! Don’t mess with Ilia, Spiders! You took Princess from her and she was here to get you guys back. The Puffer bent the upper half of his body as the fire raged over him. Hey! He had to save his glorious hair, okay?

Once the danger of fire had passed, he turned to furiously KICKED the spider then swung his fist at it. TAKE THAT! AND THAT! But it was useless. “What? Are you guys some super lab modified spiders or something?’’ It was HIGHLY impossible that these spells did nothing. Out of the corner of his eyes, Adi spotted another beast heading for Yoongi… no! Penelope! ‘’ ARANIA EXUMAI! RUN, PENELOPE! ARANIA EXUMAI!’’ Uggh! Must keep the spiders away from her!“ARANIA EXUMAI! ARANIA EXU-“

What was that STENCH?

Great Majestic Hippogriffs! He was being wrapped in web! He LOATHED the darn things! “Get off!’’ Swing, swing, swing! Adi swung his fists again but again it was futile. He needed to save his friends! Cue more fighting back on his part!

Too soon it was all over. Adi could fight back no more as his protective necklace clattered to the floor and he was engulfed in sticky, ugly spider web.

Adi could still feel AND hear very clearly through all the webbing So he DID feel when he was unceremoniously dropped to the floor. His head had banged on the floor. OUCH! It hurt but he was alright, he was alright!

Why the heck did the spiders leave him? Not that he wasn't relieved... Adi, wand still clutched in his hand, poked furiously on the web as he tried to free himself. He had to help Henric, Ilia, Yoongi and Penelope!

None of her spells seemed to be working on the spiders. "Immobulus! Diminuendo!" If she could stop them from moving, they wouldn't be able to dodge her other spells. A small acromantula wouldn't be able to eat anyone.

It was going to eat Adi! They had another Hufflepuff! They were going to eat two Hufflepuffs! No, she couldn't let this happen. Aiming her wand at the spider that had Adi she cast, "Relashio! Diminuendo!"

One was coming towards her! Penelope ran further up the stairs. Turning to face the acromantula she cast, "IMMOBULUS! LIGATENOUS! INCENDIO! ARANIA EXUMAI!" Penelope turned around and continued to run up the stairs. If all of those spells had worked on the spider, she had blasted a immobilized, chained, and on fire acromantula down the stairs. The gryffindor boy had gone to get a professor, most likely Professor Dakest. She was going to try to get the headmistress.

There was no way Toby could stay in one place these days, even though studying sort of required it. He'd attempted reading through his Divination textbook down in the Hufflepuff Common Room, but after only half an hour he'd decided he NEEDED the FRESH AIR to kickstart his brain. Which was what now brought him up and out of the kitchen level corridor, heavy Divination tome in hand.

Perhaps maybe he'd stop by the creature housing again, just to see how everyone was doing. Or... no, he was super hungry, so perhaps Toby would stop by the Great Hall for a bite... a bite to...

He was already a good way into the Entrance Hall by the time he saw them. Three huge great big large giant massive (AND DID HE MENTION, BIG) spiders. IN THE ENTRANCE HALL. And Toby froze in fear.

It took a moment to process what was happening, because of... y'know... the giant spiders and the fear and the chaos and the spells that had started flying. UM. WHAT.

But there was no time to really ask, because one of the spiders had HIS FRIEND ADI, which was probably what prompted Toby into acting. He forgot, as usual, that he was a WIZARD with a MAGIC WAND, and RAN INTO THE FRAY.

No brainer, really:
1. Spiders were terrifying, but,
2. They were still animals and Toby didn't want to hurt anything, BUT,
3. THEY WERE TRYING TO HURT PEOPLE AND HE JUST WASN'T HAVING THAT. NO BUTS.

With all his might, Toby THREW his Divination textbook (bet it didn't see THAT coming, oh ho ho) at the NEAREST BIG SPIDER (the one... currently spinning around on its back and having a fun time), fearing that they might try to grab someone else and feeling quite confident that the heavy textbook would maybe STUN it (but not kill because that would be super sad and even though Toby was MAD PROTECTIVE... he didn't want to kill anything pls no). Then he sprinted across to Adi who was still wrapped up in a web. "I'llhelpyouherelemmehelpyou," Toby said hurried, words coming out in a huge hyped up and almost panicky mess as he pulled at the webs to try and get the prefect free.

Ilia was in full rage mode , she didn't care what spiders she torched , as long as they burned and felt pain if they could. Henric was kicking one, the one holding Adi had dropped him, the ravenclaw girl (griffin)was blasting at one, and the little cretin she set on fire was headed right for her. And a spider got blown off the wall ....did that kid throw a text book at it!?

Maybe something a bit more potent than just a flaming rump, if she managed to kill it that leveled the playing field a bit. Her voice still an almost scream of rage, with all of the will and focus she possessed she cast. "EXPULSO!" Yes, she was trying to blow the spider up.... "CONFRINGO!" At least they were away from Adi and Mr. lights his dummy on fire in P.A.D. class (Felixir) jumped in to help him......however much help that would be.

Henric was thrown so far in the distance, he could only brace himself for impact.His body slammed onto the hard floor, twisting one of his arm in the process and immediately he felt excruciating pain shot through him. He rolled around a few times before he came into a stop.Henric didn't move for a second, feeling all of a sudden numb on his left arm. He bit his lip from crying out loud and blinked away the tears that were already forming in his eyes.As much as he loved magical creatures, acromantulas were his least favourite right now. And oh merlin, llia! He needed to get back up and save his bestfriend! There was no way he would lay here and wait for help to come in. Those beasts would keep pursuing them if they did not stop them permanently.

Thankfully his dominant hand was still able so he gripped his wand tightly in his right hand and slowly rise up. He stumbled a bit as he took a step forward. Urgh...those blasted spiders! They really needed to alert everyone in the school! No time to delay any longer! Henric squinted his eyes and saw the seventh year, Tobias, was there to aid Adi. He also saw llia looked like she had gone mad with rage. He aimed his wand at the younger giant spider"STUPEFY! INCARCEROUS!!" Hopefully it would hold the spider back.

Henric noticed the cobwebs were everywhere on the walls, he concluded that those things were an advantage for them and so he cast the fire making spell on it before they crawled on the walls again."INCENDIO! INCENDIO!" He watched as the cobwebs burned.

Spider webs may be easy to tear down when they're up on walls or whatever but the ones that had been spun by this giant, evil arachnid was anything but. Adi could hear all the chaos... Henric's, Ilia's Penelope's voices screaming spells. The huuuuge blasting sound and things falling to the floor were still ringing in his ears but then he heard a new voice.

"Toby?" Why was he here? Adi was grateful for the help but not if it caused his Housemate his life "Toby! Go back! I'll get out of here.'' More poking with his wand sent a decent hole in it, enough so that he could claw at the webs, just as he felt Toby doing. He really hadn't expected the other boy to leave him.

FINALLY, he was free! But web still clung to his face, hands and hair. Bleh. "Thanks, Toby!'' It was awfully brave of him. "I owe you one.'' Maybe something cow related as a token of his appreciation. Adi jumped to his feet, surveying the scene. GOSH! Look at that spider spin! He ducked as web came shooting his way. "We should try to stop that one from shooting more webs around. INCARCEROUS! Would that be enough to hold the spinning spider?

What? Are you guys some super lab modified spiders or something?

Huffing, one of the arachnids ceased their pursuit of another human and turned to face the trapped one (FearlessLeader19). "HOW RUDE!" she retorted, her pincers clicking together rapidly in an agitated state. "How RUDE to assume that I am anything but natural!"

This one was gonna die. Right now.

Out of the ridiculous number of spells being thrown by the humans, one or two managed to hit the spider as she descended upon the boy. Blasting off a few of her front legs and sending the hair black body crashing into the wall, web was not the worst thing that now covered the boy. What remained of her continued to screech and claw at the air, pincers snapping violently with rage.

The one chasing the small human (griffin) was limber enough to avoid most of the spells thrown its way, but soon fire was licking at its abdomen. "YOU'LL PAY FOR THAT!" it sneered, being pushed back just slightly by the following spell. Leaping up the stairs, it followed rapidly after her while it still could.

Legs still flailing and web spewing every which direction, the acromantula let out a loud shriek when the book smacked it right between 4 of its eyes. More enraged than before, it began aiming its web towards one of the walls hoping to use that to its advantage of getting back on its feet. And THAT one (Felixir) would be next.

Movements slowing as the flames consumed it, the acromantula could not avoid the spells that came from its target (VRSCIKA). Pincers just barely managing to take a bite out of her leg, there was a sickening SPLAT noise as the acromantula was no more.

Still gleefully running after its whole turkey, the smallest (and youngest) of the invasion managed to get its pincers back around its prize. "I GOT IT AGAIN I GOT IT AGAIN! HUMAN FLESHIE DIDN'T ESCAPE ME!" he declared, bouncing in place to show off its prize to its siblings. Only as it turned it saw one of its brothers blow up at the hand of a human. "THANATOG!" it cried, discarding the turkey and waving its legs in despair.

Aletag was blasted back by one of the spells cast (one by Symphora) and fell to the ground, all 8 of its legs sticking out to its sides as it lay there on the ground motionless. The whole turkey, meanwhile, was discarded nearby.

Victory may have seemed near for the humans...were it not for an ominous clicking sound echoed from through the space. One could have almost mistaken it for a sudden downpour...if it were not for the screeching battle cries that soon followed.

Reinforcements had arrived and their numbers were enough to make the timid wet their trousers.

'Go back.' Yeah, suuuuure. Toby made an 'I don't think so' kind of face as he tugged and tugged at the webs in an attempt to free Adi, until finally the prefect was back on his feet. THAT was a relief. Toby allowed himself a little smile at the success and stood back up himself so he could help stop the web-firing... just in time to turn his attention to the rest of the room and FINALLY SEE what spells the OTHER KIDS WERE CASTING.

What... what were they DOING? Those were DEADLY SPELLS. FIRE. EXPLOSIONS. WHAT.

"Wait... wAIT. WHAT ARE YOU-... You'RE GONNA KILL-...!"

But the words had barely escaped Toby's mouth before the carnage happened. Spiders were SET ON FIRE, they EXPLODED... THERE WAS SPIDER MUSH ON TOBY AND ADI. T_______________T

Lots of conflicting feelings were happening, so much so that Toby didn't know what to do other than stand there watching. And then... things started to die down.

Most of the spiders had run off or, uhh... shuffled off this mortal coil, but... there was still the one that was spinning and spitting webs, the one Toby had, ahem, panicked and pegged with a heavy textbook. "If... if we just talk to them. Ask them why..." Toby began, now that there was something of a reprieve, talking hurriedly and addressing Adi as the boy was closest AND likely to want to appeal to the deadly creatures' better nature. But WAIT, more important things first. Toby looked across to the other kids, the boy (Henric) and girl (Ilia), but didn't yet head towards them as there was still the issue of the angry spinning spider who was only temporarily occupied but who MIGHT be willing to TALK. When Toby spoke to his classmates from afar, he sounded more jittery than ever (duh). "Are you okay? We need to-..."

BUT... Toby was suddenly distracted, because... did they... did they hear that? Did they... did...

Oh no. Oh no.

Toby, who still hadn't drawn his wand (and should... probably do that soon), stood quite still, frozen not by horror now, but by fear, and had gone a very sickly shade of grey. It did not take a genius to understand what that sound meant.

Javier had been feeling a mixed of feelings as of late, as if not already shown on his pensive facial expression. He had just about made his way into the Entrance Hall from his usual area. Perhaps he could pay some of his colleagues or better yet, his oldest son a visit. He had been giving him enough space lately after enough time under his scope .....

Or perhaps.. Just maybe a little too much space as his blue eyes focused on one specific before the other four and.. Merlin... All of these Acromantulas. His time to process this whole scene sped up when he recognised the distant clicking noise. There had to be more of them.

There was no time for fear as that was indistinguishable given the surroundings and stench. Acromantulas.. When there were this many dead ones, more were bound to come and fast. "Stay close to me all of you." No time for greetings and pleansaties. The Professor said in a low tone as he made his way over to the students, pulling them close with him.

Javier then drew his wand out, wherever they planned to come from they needed to go the opposite way or just blast their way through. No student was going to be mauled this term on his time.
