The class is the same with the proper chairs with soft cushions to sit and lean back on, and they are still are charmed to take the most comfortable shape and height once a student is seated. The walls are still a soft, calming blue. There are one big, grey rubbish bin by the door and a white, porcelain washbasin with a tap for those who wants to wash their hands before/after the class and who can't perform 'Aguamenti' charm.
The door is open 15 minutes before the class time. Professor Culloden is sitting at his desk to wait for the students to arrive, with a neutral expression on his face.
OOC: If you are going to RP your characer use the washbasin or the bin, you don't have to take Cosgrach's permission. Just assume he has granted it.
Class has begun, so don't post your characters late. Instead, play them as if they have been here all along.
1. Fill the cauldron with water and light a fire at maximum
2. Add the scarab beetles carefully without plopping them down
3. Add half of the lion fur
4. Stir clockwise seven times with a metal stirrer
5. Wait for 7 minutes for pewter cauldrons, 5 for brass and 4 for copper. In the meantime, mix sheep wool and fox fur with salamander blood in another bowl. Make sure it's mixed well.
6. Once the time is up, add 4 tea spoons of the mixture
7. Wave your wand while saying "Dominentur"
8. Add the rest of the mixture. The colour should turn black
9. Stir clockwise seven times with a metal stirrer
10. Add the rest of the lion fur
11. Wait for 15 minutes for pewter cauldrons, 11 for brass and 3 for copper. The colour should gradually become grey (Note: chop the peppermint if it isn't already)
12. Add the chopped peppermint
13. Wait until it's white (should take a few minutes) Effect: Makes the drinker confident (or arrogant if they already have too much confidence) and choose just the right words for the person they are talking to The taste is sweet Full dose is a glass The effect lasts for 5-6 hours Overdose: More than a glass a week. Makes the drinking too arrogant and the words mocking

Bleu walked in the classroom, and quickly washed her hands. She dried them off and with a wave, "Hello Professor Culloden." She moved further into the classroom, when she noticed that no one had sat next to Dylan yet. She was so excited to see that.
She smiled as she sat next to her boyfriend. She gave him a wink and a "hey," and started pulling out all of the supplies necessary for potions.

Sophie entered the classroom with her cauldron and potions kit filled with ALL the things, a chipper smile on her face because potions class was ALWAYS a joyous occasion, wasn't it?! The first thing she noticed was Culloden when she moved further into the room - he didn't look particularly happy today, but he didn't seem to be grumpy either. That... was probably good. Left a lot of room for potential for the day's lesson, didn't it?
"Hi, professor, sir. I brought my wits," she grinned a cheeky grin in reference to his notice regarding the day's lesson, then went ahead to survey the students currently present - Kyroh, good - Zander, also good - and... oh, a Dot! How cute! The Slytherin had positioned herself right at the front of the classroom, just where Soph liked to sit, so the fifth year made her way over to the girl and hopped into the chair right next to her. "Hi Dot!" A cheerful greeting, she got, then she set to work doing her usual routine of cleaning alllllllll her materials before class as she unpacked. Setting a good example for the whole world, obviously.

Rorie followed Puck into the classroom that was gladly not far from her common room. Well, this place looked cozy. Maybe she'll be able to catch some Z's here. Speaking of Z's, she caught sight of the other lion prefect not far. She mouthed her nickname to him just to ruin his day (all in good faith of course) and took a seat next to Puck in the middle.
Potions..!!! The subject he has been looking forward to. Sam told him a lot about potions class and Scott has read his potions books, but nothing made senses to him. And he always get excited to learn things he doesn't know because he will know more. Duh?
"Hello, professor!" he greeted with a mad glee before noticing the color of the classroom. Odd choice, he thought before taking a seat.
Toby was tired. Or something. It had been one of those mornings. One of those tentative mornings where he'd been going back and forth between 'okay' and 'crawlspace mood', and had been tempted not to go to class at all. But he was here, and that was good. But he was tired. Or something.
"Afternoon, Professor," the Hufflepuff said automatically as he entered. Was it the afternoon? Toby hadn't exactly been keeping track, but it certainly felt like he'd already done an entire day of school, that was for sure. He went straight for his regular seat, where Kyroh was already sitting. Toby managed to hitch a regular smile onto his face as he sat down, ruffling his favourite not-so-little Ravenclaw's hair before starting to set up his potions equipment.

It was time for Lux's favourite class, so of course she was excited. Hopefully they would be making something awesome today. Most potions were wonderful, but there were some she didn't like such as the ones that cause hate. Those were mean.
Entering the room, she waved at all her friends. She wasn't too early today but that was okay because at least she wasn't late. Lux hated being late for classes so she always tried her best to be on time. "Hello, Professor Culloden," she said happily before taking a seat by her friends.

Brooklyn was nearly cheerful as she’d made the short trip from her common room to the Potions classroom. First off, she liked the subject, and second, she hadn’t had to go anywhere near the icky smelly swamp to get there. Those both were positive notes for her, and she’d almost had a smile on her face as she walked into the room. She had been here not that long ago, really, although not exactly here in the classroom. What with the Potions workshop and everything. The books the professor had given them at the first meeting were in her bag along with the textbook, as a matter of fact. They were part of the subject after all, and didn’t make her bag much more heavy. Even if they had, she wasn’t going very far. It wouldn’t annoy her that quickly.
She did actually send Professor Culloden a smile. “Good day, Professor Culloden,” she added, leaving out the curtsy. She already had his respect, so it wasn’t needed. The advantage of not being a first year anymore. Once that was taken care of, she made her way to her accustomed workstation, sort of near the front but not really at the front. Luckily, nobody had taken it yet, so her mood didn’t have a reason to darken. She would have made them move if there had been someone there. It was hers. She knew it and it was where she was comfortable.

If there's a lesson that Bianca was very confident to get a remarkable result at her NEWT, it's potions. The brunette thought that Potions wasn't that hard as long as she did follow the instruction carefully. And her record on potions class was good, there's no mistake that she'd ever made on the class. Not to mention that Culloden was a very excellent potion master and Professor.
She wasn't late, right? Of course she's not. The potions classroom was on the dungeons and it's the closest class from the Slytherin common room. At least she didn't need to climb a thousand stairs to reach this class. So it was such a shame to skip potions. "Good day, Professor Culloden." Bianca politely greeted the potion master who was sitting on his desk. Then she grabbed a seat on the middle row.

She walked in and walk passed Culloden, "Hello, professor." She waved as she headed to the back of the room. First person prime choice of back row seating. Score!
Cosgrach was feeling neutral too. Not happy, nor angry or sad. It was just another day... and hopefully it'd be a day without any problems.
"Hello, Cinna," the man greeted her and waved back. Back row, huh? Why? Didn't she know teachers looked at back rows more? Or at least he did.

Cosgrach wasn't surprised to see Kevin, of course. Despite their differences, Kevin was a good potioneer. He was surprised when Kevin walked to him, though, and raised his eyebrows at the request. He hadn't heard that from his wife, so excuse him if he looked thoroughly surprised. What Kevin said made much more sense, and he offered the boy a small smile.
"Of course. Anytime you want." During school times, though, should he have added that?
Oh, he saw that blush. Totally.

Kyroh lifted Cosgrach's spirits, okay? The man couldn't help but grin WIDELY back at the boy, because the boy's cheerful state was very contagious.
"I owe you a hug, then," he said as he shook his head a little to himself. Kyroh was 13 now, the age to enter puberty wasn't he? Cosgrach wondered just WHEN he'd turn from 'cute&cheerful' to 'disgusting&ridiculously sensitive'.

"I'll give more information as we brew, so let's begin." He'd reached the back row by now, and leaned on the wall facing the blackboard. He drew his wand, and the ingredients appeared on the blackboard.

Professor Culloden seemed to be in a good mood today, which was nice. "I am doing great, yes. How are you?"
Class was starting, and it seemed that they were going to be jumping right to the potion which Lux had absolutely no problem with because it sounded like an interesting potion and she wanted to hear more about it as they worked.
First thing first, after taking out all her equipment Lux made sure to wash everything. Then she put on her clean gloves because she knew how important it was when working with potions.
Her cauldron was cleaned and she filled it with water before lighting a fire and turning the heat to maximum.

Professor Culloden was always in such a good mood. Adi found it nice to have such enthusiastic greetings returned. Now seated next to Benny, he watched the others file in. He returned waves and smiles to his friends including Janelle, Hayden, Puck and Lux. He stared a great deal at Margo, though. It took him a while to remember that Potions wasn't one of her best subjects and that was the reason she wasn't as hyper as usual. He made up his mind to keep an eye on her in case she needed help.
Ohhh they were starting! Trust Me-self Potion? Adi's eyes lit up and he threw Benny a sly look. Here's what was going on in that brain of his: he could use this potion sometime so that he would be able to use the right words to try to convince Benny to let him transfigure him into a Dragon.
The Hufflepuff's mind was still on that as he began to make notes in his book. He'd pay extra attention to this Potion. Right! Onto filling the cauldron with water. "Scourgify!'' Once the thing was clean, Adi filled it with water before using the Fire Making Spell to light his burner. Finally, he turned it the maximum.
Trust me-self potion, ugh, it didn't even sound found. A love potion now that would be exciting! But oh well, here they were. So pulling her cauldron up on the table she was getting ready.
Margo pulled out her wand "Augmenti" (that was the spell right?) None the less the cauldron started to fill with water. There half of the first step was down.....now light the fire....how did she did that again??

It was a good thing Adi decided to keep an eye on Margo. "Be right back,'' he told Benny. He headed over to the young Hufflepuff who wasn't sitting that far from him. "Hey, Margo. You forgot to use Scourgify on your cauldron before filling it with water.'' He peered into her cauldron which contained water. Er... could he vanish it for her? Adi shot a look at Culloden as he wondered that. Anyway... "The spell for lighting the Burner is Incendio and the wand movement is this.'' The Badger demonstrated.
He shot Culloden another look before deciding that the man wouldn't mind if he vanished the water. ''Evanesco!'' There! Now the cauldron was empty.

As much as he had adjusted to being called Benny over the years, it still felt weird when a professor referred to him in that way. At least Professor Culloden was the only real user of his nickname. And there was Benny, the Hufflepuff taking a seat beside him as per usual. "Hi," he returned. Made thing easier if he ever needed any assistance from the other boy. His friend far more skilled in potions making.
Soon enough, Culloden was ready to begin, gathering all their attentions once more. Trust Me-self Potion. Almost self-explainatory in its name. Unaware of what his best friend was thinking, Benny wondered if he could use it around test time and not be so nervous about his work. The fifth year picked up a quill and wrote down what was currently present on the board before moving to complete what was asked of them so far.
"Scourgify," he cast on his cauldron after exchanging quill for wand. One clean cauldron ready. He followed it up with a quiet aquamenti, casting Finite when he was done. The Gryffindor then carefully made sure the cauldron was safely in place atop the burner before lighting the latter and setting it to the highest level.

Bleu was excited to get started right away. She quickly wrote down the notes on the board so she wouldn't have to constantly look up there. This sounded like a really interesting potion. She quickly made sure that he cauldron was clean before she filled it with water. "Augmenti." She said, and with a flick of her wrist her cauldron filled with the right amount of water.
She then set the bottom a blaze at the hottest it could be, and waited patiently for the next step.

A path is not simply for walking, its purpose lies in moving forward and improving oneself.
After the Professor had agreed to his request, the Gryffindor turned around to find a seat. A seat next to Cinna would have been really nice but he noticed that Kace already sat near her and the fourth year glared at the guy as he said near the older Gryffindor girl as well.
Yep, he was sitting on the back row in his favourite class because of a girl.
Really? a trust me-self potion? "Does this potion work even if the person is already...persuasive?" he grinned as he cast a quick look towards Zander. He should know what he was talking about. Anyways, the Gryffindor placed his cauldron on the table. Used the Aguamenti charm to add water and then heated it up to maximum with incendio. He sat back down in the comfortably shaped chair and tried not to look at Cinna.
Well Dante had a question on this potion. What if you already had too much self confidence. Would it not work. Though this potion was perfect for Dante. He now had an awesome Fedora, HE MADE. Which he can now wear like a boss. The only things left were a cane with had a hidden sword and charisma.
Dante Barrington's Steps To World Domination.
"Professor C. What if you already have a lot or too much self confidence. Would it not work?"
Now Dante got water from the thing in the corner and lit his cauldron on medium heat. And yeah he wrote down the ingredients. He was not that smart to remember them all from memory.

The first thing Finn did was write down everything that was posted board, making sure he didn't miss one ingredient or step, you know, which could be terrible in potion making. The second thing he needed to do was clean out the cauldron, which he did so as soon as possible. Once he figured that was good enough he checked his notes again, to make sure what he needed to do.
He pointed his wand at the cauldron and said, "Aguamenti," a slow, but steady stream of water was now being filled into the cauldron. When Finn felt like he had put in a decent amount he moved his wand underneath the cauldron's burner and said, "Incendio." That seemed well enough, now what was next for this class?
"Hey there, Kace." He laughed briefly and shook his head once. "You'll learn soon." No telling what yet.
The suspense.
Cosgrach got up from his seat and closed the door. Then, walking back to the middle of the blackboard, he smiled at them.
"For the new students, I'm Professor Cosgrach Culloden and..." What else should he say? "If you want me to learn your names, write it on a paper and leave it on your desks." Hmm? All good, newbies? He started pacing the room slowly.
"Today, we'll learn about Trust Me-self Potion. As you can guess, it enhances self-confidence and helps the drinker persuade others. This isn't to say the drinker is able to persuade people to do anything. They can just use the right words and use their voice better." That was it, honestly.
"I'll give more information as we brew, so let's begin." He'd reached the back row by now, and leaned on the wall facing the blackboard. He drew his wand, and the ingredients appeared on the blackboard.
"Please fill your cauldrons with water and light a fire at maximum."
The big puff shrugged and at least gave it a try. As the professor started the lesson and he heard about the Potion they were gonna make today. He smiled and was interested to make it. He could use some self confidence sometimes. Maybe he can use it on his cousins since it can persuade others. He smirked with the possibilities. He copied down the potion ingredients first so he can read them before the room filled with smoke and such.

Ooooh, it was time to get started. First, Janelle picked up her quill and wrote her name on a piece of parchment. Then she placed the parchment strategically on her desk so that the Professor couldn't miss it.

Now that that was done, Janelle copied the notes that Professor Culloden had written on the board. She knew her next move would be to clean her equipment. Thank goodness she had already learned the cleaning spell. Pointing her wand at her cauldron, Janelle made an S shaped movement and said, "Scourgify". Knowing how things worked for her, she thought it best to repeat the spell.........just to be safe.
Looking at the directions, Janelle figured that she would need a teaspoon, a knife and a measuring cup for later steps. While she was in the cleaning mood, she might as well tackle those too. One by one, she said "Scourgify" and cleaned each item. Now Janelle was ready to move on so she checked her notes again.
Oh boy, now Janelle needed two spells to finish step one. She had done a lot of reading and even more practicing with the Aguamenti spell. Sometime it paid to be ahead of he game. However, she did not know the spell for lighting the fire so........help for the firstie? Anyway, Janelle decided to go ahead and tackle the water. Concentrating, she directed her wand at the cauldron. "Aguamenti", Janelle said and luckily water poured from the tip of her wand. When she felt that the cauldron was full enough, she said, "Finite". Now, who could she get to help her with the other spell?

Ohh, so the professor had remembered her name! He had a really good memory then. They must have first met one another...what? five months ago? Good one! Kate turned her attention to what the lesson was about then, and she even raised her eyebrows at its description. Hmm. Persuading people to do anything? That sounded kind of tricky to her. She could see this potentially getting really out of hand.
Then the professor explained a little more, and Kate figured this was just a harmless potion that would make people a little more confident. That didn't sound too bad then. She copied down what the professor had displayed on the blackboard then turned toward her cauldron. Cleaning came first. She raised her wand toward the cauldron and said, "Scourgify!" Should be all clean now. Then came filling it with water. "Aguamenti!" she said. Finally, she lit a fire with a strong "Incendio!"
Looking over, she realized Janelle was sort of stuck on that last spell. "Hey, Janelle," she said. "How ya coming along?"
There were a lot of new girls this year, weren't there?
Cosgrach smiled back at her as warmly. She knew her name too, and earned herself a few approval points. "Good day," he said back, because he didn't know her name, but would learn soon. Then, she got even more approval points as she cleaned her robes. Perfect! He would like her too, he could tell.

Paloma listened and followed the professor as he spoke, doing the proper introductions, the remark of having to learn the students' names. So, she began to write her name in her notepad, as well as some notes regarding the potion they were about to make.
When hearing what it could do, Pal raised her eyebrow. It was a bit similar to what Puck had spoken about, like a personal boost, but with an extension to use it in favour of others, which was proper, and cool, she thought.

Potion of the day:Trust Me-self Potion
-Enhances self confidence
-Helps persuade others, by using the right words, and use the voice better
Ingredients
-7 ground scarab beetles
-a handful of lion's neck fur
-two handfuls of fox tail fur
-300 grams of sheep wool
-a sprig of chopped pepermint
Instructions
1. Boil water at max.
Looking at the list of ingredients, she grinned, thinking of how they related to what they were doing. Anyways, she put her notepad aside, in the view of others and of course the professor, so he would see her name.
So, she took her cauldron and other things like a spoon, knives, measuring cups, checked that it was spotless clean, and folded her shirt sleeves up, so nothing would get wet, or burned, or put into contact with things she didn't really like washing. "Aguamenti." She casted the water spell into the cauldron, in the lowest tone possible, watching the water squirt fall down from the tip of her wand. Full enough, she muttered "Finite" then quickly, "Incendio" She loved the fact that she could use Latin words there, not far from her Spanish.
And now, to wait til the water started to boil, maybe?

Oh my gosh.
Marigold was so excited for this potion. Could it be prescribed or used daily? SHE NEEDED THIS. She grinned really big at Culloden and wiggled excitedly. She wrote in her notes the name of the potion, and then next to it BEST POTION EVER. Ahem.
She took out her cauldron and with a quick "Scourgify," cleaned it. "Aguamenti," she said, adding the water, and then lit the fire with "Incendio."
A slight blush rose to her cheeks at Professor Culloden. She didn't understand why her face did that around him. It was odd. Beverly pinned it down to the man being one of her favorite professors. So, fanning her face with her hand briefly, she turned her attention to the front of the class.
Trust Me-self potion. The name itself was iffy, but the effect was awesome. Beverly could vouch she was confident in some areas, but the persuasive bit, THAT was interesting.
Jotting it down, she thought of...stuff she could pull with this potion. It involved her darling Dad and dragons. Mwaha! For now though, she cleaned her cauldron with Scourgify, then cast, "Aguamenti!" That done she set the fire to maximum.

"Kate, hey, Janelle said. "I'm having a little trouble getting my fire started." Looking over toward Kate's work station, she noticed that a fire was burning beneath her cauldron. So obviously she knew the spell. A little help from her roomie perhaps?
Turning back to her housemate, Janelle was not too proud to ask for help. "Um......I don't really know the spell for lighting the fire. Would you mind sharing?" Please, please, pretty please. Janelle needed to get a move on before she fell behind. Then she added, "I really would appreciate it."
