As you walk through the opposite opened double doors from the Barnyard's Creature Housing you first notice the newly constructed fenced walkway leading towards the open playpen area. Was this really the "Playpens" originally? Curious as ever you continually walk down heading towards it only to hear familiar squawking noises. To your right you eventually see the herd of Hippogriffs and Winged Horses roaming around the open area. You could practically pet them from this distance, if they so chose to come over when you beckon them with food.
OOC: In order to interact here your student is required signing up as a Creatures Playmate.

It was beautiful outside today. And that meant Hady was going outside for some fresh air, even if it was alone. Being alone didn't bother really unless it was one of those times where she was lonely, which honestly if she had to admit it, which she wouldn't, she was right now.
Sticking her hands into the pockets of her to large worn out hoodie she made her way through the doors of the Barnyard out towards the creature housing. Walking slowly so she wouldn't startle whatever might be outside in the open area today. Maybe she'd be able to pet something if she got the chance.
Once far enough into the housing area Hady sat herself down on the grass a safe distance away so as not to be to intimidating towards anything. Her eyes taking in the sight of several large Hippogriff's and horses. Horses with wings? Awesome!
It wasn't that she was trying to disturb any of the creatures in the playpen. In fact, she was remaining as still and silent as she could ever remember being, so as not to disturb them. It was just that she preferred it here, up close and personal, her feet on the bottom plank of the fence guarding the playpen, and her arms draped over the top plank. Her chin rested on the wood, as her hands hung limply at the edges of her wrists. For all intents and purposes, it looked like someone had splattered her against said fence, but she was in fact, quite comfortable.
The sugar cube she had been trying to offer one of the Hippogriffs and, or, winged horses was clutched lightly between her fingers. Rejected. Thus far. But she could wait. She didn't mind. She didn't mind if they didn't come over either. It was nice, sunny and while the company was distant and stuffing their faces, they were admittedly relaxing.
From the corner of her eye, Amur caught sight of a girl coming up the walkway. She turned her chin on the wood, gave her a smile and a faint wave (which may or may not have been noticeable behind the plank that her arms were linked over), and returned to watching the horses. Soooo peaceful.

One of the BEST things about being back, was the creatures... and his number one priority was Helios. How was he? Had the Hippogriff missed him? Would he recognise him? Zeke was keen to get down and check things out, he even managed to get his hands on a dead ferret - which hung limp over his shoulder. A little treat for his favourite beast.
He took long paces down the walkway to the playpen, and his gait didn't falter when he realised he wasn't alone. It was chocolate frog stealing girl! And Hady!
"Hey Hady, hey... you." What was her name again, he'd forgotten, all he could remember was that it wasn't normal, not an everyday name.. it was... DIFFERENT. Help a guy out? "Steal anymore frogs lately?" he asked, curious.

Out the corner of her eye Hady took notice to a girl about her age or so watching the Hippogriffs as well. She gave a small wave to her in return to the one she had been given. Getting to her feet she was about ready to walk over to the girl and say hi when she heard a voice making her turn.
"Hey Zeke." She called to him loud enough to be heard but not upset the animals around them. A grin spread across her face as she made her way to the fence and climbed up into it sitting on the top post. It was easier this way really since she was short. With a hand settled on the post on each side of her waiting to be joined by Zeke or the girl.

Amur smiled at the other girl at the return wave. A friendly person. She liked that. But then, what type of non-friendly person would visit this area? It seemed a requirement that one be of good nature in order to even have a chance at interacting with the animals.
Her attention was caught by a somewhat-but-not-so-familiar-voice, turning her head about to see Bungie-Boy Zeke approaching. Her mouth twisted into a half-frown, half-smug-smirk. "I didn't steal them. They were free for the taking."
Point. And. Fact.
Keeping her chin off the top plank so as to avoid getting splinters, Amur started to shimmy her way sideways along the fence with her hands and feet. It would have been more productive to get off the fence and walk over to the other two, but this was more fun.
"Why? Were you wanting one?" Because she did have one or two left up her sleeve, but he'd have to ask nice, yes he would. The other girl she might give to just on the principle of meeting someone new. Then again, she supposed she should give Zeke one too. After all, he had let her hide behind him from their Head of House.

Zeke closed the gap between himself and the girls, opting to lean against the fence beside Hady, his eyes on the Gryffindor first year. She didn't re-introduce herself, and that was fine with him, she'd just be YOU to him from now on.
"You took more than your fair share," he pointed out, because the bowl had been seriously depleted by the time he got to it, and her sleeves were chunky enough. See, logic, he had it too. But.. was he WANTING one? Who in their right mind didn't? "Sure, if you're offering," he mused.
Unlike other times where introductions has slipped his mind, he remembered, only, blondie's name didn't come to mind. He'd make do. "Hady, this is Gryffindor's resident chocolate frog thief, she'll keep denying it, but she's always got them on her." A good thing to know. For those moments that need sorting out. Her ARSENAL or whatever. And yeah, Griffin girl, this was Hady, who had a name he remembered.
Grinning, Zeke glanced out into the play pen, trying to spot his semi-feathered friend.

Hady allowed her gaze to wonder back to the animals in the pen for a brief moment. She did notice the girl making her way closer to where she was and that was just fine with her. Making friends were good just so no conversations of muggles came up again. Not like with the other girl she'd recently met.
There was talk of chocolate frogs and such which had her momentarily confused until Zeke somewhat explain. He also sorta introduced her to the new girl. By sorta he didn't give her name...maybe he didn't know it? Oh well it was alright.
Giving the younger girl a small smile her eyes shifted back to the Hippogriff's.

Amur's lips twisted again. "It was...is for a good cause." She had explained it to him, yes she had.
Upon reaching the other two students, Amur hooked her elbows over the top plank and fished into her sleeves. She produced two frogs, one which she handed to Zeke and the other which she offered to the other girl, Hady.
"Nice to meet you, Hady." Her eyes flicked to Zeke. "And I'm Amur Neverwinter. Not a frog thief. That implies taking something that wasn't offered." A smirk brought the corners of her mouth back up. "And it's a good thing I always have them: good for emergency purposes." Or you know, making new friends.
She glanced between the two of them. "Do you have pets here?" And here as in the playpen that Zeke was looking rather eagerly towards.

Uh huh, good cause, righto... as if he hadn't heard THAT one before. Still, he was more amused than anything else. And SCORE! Chocolate! "Thanks, by all means, keep stealing them, I'm cool with it." He didn't care too much for upholding the rules, especially not when it meant feasting on sweets.
Accepting his frog, he watched as the girlie offered the other to Hady, now that WAS nice of her, and better yet, a proper introduction. AMUR! That's right, Amur... he HAD to remember it if he wanted more frogs in the future, her name was now a priority to learn. He tore into the pack, quick to catch the enchanted treat before it could hop away - but it was rendered useless without the legs which he ate with delight. It was only moments like these where he could appreciate the French sentiment of eating frogs legs.
Pets? "Yeah, a Hippogriff... Helios," he informed, puffing out his chest with pride, "I rode him last year when we studied them in class, we got to race and everything, and we won. He technically belongs to the school, but I got to name him and so he may as well be mine." In his own mind the Hippogriff was his second pet, one which he was providing for.
"Helios! Here boy," he called out, taking the dead ferret off his shoulder with one hand and dangling it over the side of the fence. Was he coming or what?!

"Nice meeting you too Amur and no thanks." She replied with a small shake of her head turning down the offered chocolate frog. She wasn't really in the mood for sweets right now and well typically she stuck with her favorites when she was...even if they happened to be muggle sweets.

"You're welcome." She nodded. Her eyes trailed to Hady, blinking in surprise at the decline of the chocolate frog.
"You have to be the first person I've met who doesn't like chocolate frogs." Not judging of course. Just an interesting observation. Even the elves were proving fond of the treats. Leaning in, she put a hand over the side of her mouth and dropped her voice to a whisper, in case the question enticed an answer which the girl didn't want the whole world knowing. The whole world being Zeke. "Is it the chocolate part, or the frog part?"
Because she had to admit, first trying one had made her squeamish. Not because it was chocolate, but because it acted SO much like a frog. It had taken chasing them across the barnyard back home to finally make her fond of the treats. Still, she could understand. They weren't her favorite, and she got more enjoyment about giving them away than eating them herself.
Oh? What was that? Zeke had a Hippogriff? That was like Merlin having a braided beard! Leaning over the fence more, Amur peered around at Zeke, looking from the boy to the creatures and then back again. A smile tugged at her lips at the boy's heartfelt efforts and the lack of a response from the creatures. Her eyes trailed down to what he had in his hand, her eyebrows raising.
It wasn't that she hadn't seen dead animals before or that she didn't understand the food chain but.... "Where did you get that?"

When he had accepted the frog, he had thought that nobody in their right mind would decline... and then Hady DID. Was she feeling okay? He peered sideways at her, tempted to press his hand to her forehead... minus the ferret and minus the frog, alas, it wasn't to be. Amur's observations were perfectly sound, all things considered, he'd not met anyone who declined chocolate before - except maybe Gavin, but he didn't count. Was it the sweet, or was it the frog shape it came in? He didn't know. All he could offer Amur was a casual shrug.
Still dangling the ferret over the fence, Zeke felt his heart sink... no Helios then. Boo.
He threw the thing into the pen, the others could fight for it if they wanted.
"Around," he said casually to Amur, curious firstie, did she know that Lions were big cats? And that cats were KILLED by curiosity? Not a threat, just a fact... kinda. "The Professor gets them from somewhere, I dunno where..." and he'd never thought to ask, nor did he want to. The man could get them from a pet shop for all he cared. But there were more pressing matters than Helios not turning up, or the origin of dead ferrets. Like Hady not eating chocolate, not to mention she wasn't saying much of anything. Side bumping his friend, he shot her a look of what he figured read CONCERN. "You 'kay?" Little Miss Quiet Lady Snake.

Around? Amur's eyebrows shot up high on her head. Somewhere. The Professor got them from somewhere? And Zeke hadn't thought to ask? She blinked rapidly at him, remembering seeing some students wandering about with ferrets poking out of the sleeves and collars of their robes. Surely that couldn't be the type of around that was being referred to. No, a Professor, a Professor of care for magical creatures no less, would not do such a thing. But then, where did they come from.
Chewing on her curiosity, Amur folded her hands on top of the fence and rested her chin on top of them. It would be a mission on her to-do-list to find out where they were coming from. It was mystery that seemed important to solve.
Her eyes drifted up to the other girl. "Oh. Well that's fair." Truthfully, she didn't really understand the lack of being in a chocolate mood, but she supposed it was similar to a lack of mood towards cauliflower. Which was always for her. Chocolate seemed different, but it was fair.
She offered the frog out once again. "Here. Save it for when you are in a mood for chocolate." Because taking back an offered gift was a big no-no.
And maybe it would help if something was wrong? As much as Amur wanted to add in that not being in a chocolate mood usually begged a mood of its own, the conversation seemed to be between Zeke and Hady, and being a new introduction to both of them, she didn't feel it was her place to interject.

So she didn't not like them, but he still couldn't understand why anyone would forego the sweet, especially when it was free. But then she said THAT, and he understood perfectly well. Moods. Girls had moods, it was a thing they did... and he was wondering if that's why she seemed different today. It was her girly moods time? Please don't hit him, kick him, or hurt him by any other means.
His suspicions were confirmed when Amur agreed it was fair, of course SHE would agree... she probably had girly moods too. Zeke opted to keep his mouth shut, knowing full well that as a guy he couldn't say anything right. Nope. Mouth shut.
But he found it hard not to reply when Hady asked him a direct question. Uh oh.
"Uuhh... no, I was wrong, completely wrong, you're right." That was the correct answer, wasn't it? And thinking, what could she be thinking about? Or... actually... he didn't want to know. Her mind was probably all over the place with her moods.

Amur held out the chocolate frog to her once more and told her to save it for later. That she could do, maybe she'd want it a little later on. With a small grin she agreed taking the sweet and carefully tucking it into the pocket of her hoodie. "Thanks, I'll do that."
Shifting on the railing Hady set her feet on one of the lower railings to the fence so she would be more sturdy and wouldn't have to really hold on to it. Hearing Zeke fumble over his words to her question made her laugh and she couldn't help but grin at him. Reaching over she slid an arm around his shoulders and gave him a light squeeze to show she was alright and appreciated his concern for her. "It's alright I know I'm a little off my game today, you can admit it."
If Zeke knew something was up then there must be. She'd rather his honesty then things being sugarcoated for her.
Amur grinned at the acceptance of the frog. She would have felt pretty weird if the frog hadn't been accepted. Except ... "FYI. Some house elves have been shuffling through people's pockets for treats. Be on your guard."
Or maybe that was only the relationship between Toddles and Zander's pockets. Still, a warning was fair. It seemed like chocolate frogs might be the currency of the school year. She idly wondered how using them as bartering chips with Professors might go over.
Folding her arms under her chin, Amur watched Hady and Zeke from the corner of her eyes, the smile holding fast to her lips. They seemed like good friends. It was nice to witness.

House elves liked chocolate frogs? Hmm now that she hadn't known. It was a good thing to keep in mind really cause she liked the little elffies and they helped her out a few times before.
"Hmm I will thanks." Hady replied nodding her head in thought. Her free hand that wasn't around her buddies shoulders was tucked inside the pocket of her hoodie comfortable. Letting her gaze return to the hippogriff's once more she wondered if hers would be returning soon, her eyes however didn't miss the smile that was still on Amur's face as she looked at her and Zeke. What was the girl smiling about?

He was CONVINCED that bad things were going to happen when he noticed Hady's body language shift... towards HIM. Merlin she wasn't going to resort to violence, surely, she was... nice, non violent as far as he could tell. His eyes were wide as her arms wrapped around his shoulders, and in that moment he could feel himself relax before adjusting under her touch. He extended an arm up and placed it on her back to help keep her balanced, and to actually be able to hug in return. "Only if you think so," he replied, still not comfortable with calling her out, in case of MOODS.
Zeke peered between the two girls for a brief moment as tips on chocolate-stealing elves was relayed - not something he's ever had trouble with, but there was a first for everything.. and then things seemed to get weird. A silence fell, and Amur was looking at them, and they were looking at her, and then he was looking at Hady, his arm still around her.
What?
Did he miss something? Was their something on his face? Was Hady doing something to him that he couldn't see? WHAT?!

Shaking her head slightly the young girl gave a quiet laugh to Zeke's reply. "Mm I suppose I do." At least he'd hugged her back and he kept her from falling off the fence at the same time! Awesome friend right there! Letting her arm drop from his shoulders she sat up straight once again tucking her now other free hand into her hoodie pocket with the other one.
What was going on? Now Zeke was looking at Amur too. Why was she smiling at them? Had they done something funny?
Puzzled she raised an eyebrow at the girl in question.
Amur blinked back at them. And then blinked again.
What, what, what?
Maybe someone, or something, was behind her? Cautiously and carefully, she turned her head about to glance over her shoulder. Nothing. She eyed the two again, eyed the blank spot over her shoulder and then concluded that they were in fact looking at her.
Why? Was it because she had been looking at them? Was what had happened supposed to have been a private moment?
"You....look like good friends."

When Amur began looking around clearly confused by both Zeke and herself had been looking at her it made Hady confused as well. Didn't she knew why they were looking at her? It was quite obvious really, or so Hady thought it was.
When Amur looked back at her and gave her comment a grin spread across her face. So that was all it was? She was smiling at them because she liked that her and Zeke were close friends. Thank gosh! Seriously she had thought it was something much worse then that.
"Yeah, yeah we are." Hady gave Zeke a bright smile adding a moment later. "Since I saved his butt in Herbology last year."

At least Hady knew she was acting weird, or, kinda, was not completely herself. He wasn't much for telling her such things, not under delicate circumstances such as moods, so he was in the clear today.
Smiling, he watched as Amur looked behind her to see if there was anyone or anything there. Now THAT, was kinda funny. But no, they'd been looking at her, because she'd been looking at them. Just a lot of looking, nothing else. Her reason for looking had him grinning though. They were good friends indeed, he wouldn't argue that. Nodding in agreement, he listened to what Hady had to add... all the while, he decided to get in on the fence climbing fun as well.
Hoisting himself up onto the lowest railing, Zeke extended his arms to grab hold of the top railing, and leaned back, testing his weight on it. Solid!
It was then though that his grin faltered, and a playful frown replaced it. "She did not save my butt in Herbology... I wasn't going to die or anything, I could have handled it, she just... helped." Yeah, helped. Way to hurt a MAN's ego. He was a Lion, brave and stuff and full of action.

When Zeke climbed up onto the fence Hady moved over just a hair to give him a bit more room in case he was climbing up to sit near them. However he wasn't, he was leaning backwards as he held onto the fence. Hady smiled slightly to herself watching him from the corner or his eye. At least he seemed to be having a good time.
The grin on his face had changed to a frown now. What had happened? He wasn't angry at her was he, cause she was only messing around. Surely he knew that. Wanting to make sure Hady twisted around to look at him since he was leaning backwards a cheeky grin on her face. "Nah admit it I saved your butt!" Hady teased her tone light and clearly playful. Her grin changed to a bright smile as she began to laugh. "Relax Zeke I'm only teasing. I really did only help him out a little, he's helped me before also." She looked over to Amur speaking to her also.
