Out on the grounds (Charms 2 & Transfiguration 2)

After you have left the classroom, you are led to a wide open area on the school grounds. This is where the second portion of the joint lesson will be taking place so don't dilly dally in getting here.

In the sky, there are tiny hoops floating at even distances but those are none of your concern for the time being.

Gather around for the instructions to be handed out once the last of the stragglers have arrived. No worries about the crisp winter morning air as charms have been placed around the area to keep the temperature comfortable. Thoughtful; yes, we know.

Buggy-Boo 02-10-2015 12:59 AM

Bringing Hugo with her, Margo made her way out to the grounds. She sure hoped that she wasn't late. And plus now Margo was pretty sure she was never giving up Hugo, dragons may scare her, but he was adorable and Margo was starting to grow very attached to him.

Sararara 02-10-2015 02:04 AM

Norah stood in the grounds holding King Phillip's cage up to eye level so she could stare at the cute lil' thing. Heheh. Hi there. "You doing alright, your highness?" She tried to do a little curtsy but ended up teetering under the weight of her bag. Ahem. Nobody saw that either, yeah? The third year beamed at the red dragon through the bars of its cage, taking no notice of the floating hoops because DRAGON, duh. Could people hurry up so she could play with Phillip some more Puh-LEEZE? She was gonna get antsy again and bouncing was capital 'N' NOT allowed for a thirteen year old, remember?

Hera 02-10-2015 02:29 AM

Zeke hadn't taken his time in getting here, he wanted OUT of the classroom, cause whatever was gonna happen out here was going to be AWESOME. He was sure of it.

Dropping his things on the floor, Zeke continued to hold his cage, raising it to eye-level so he could inspect his mini dragon. it survived the trek. This was going to be a good day. It was only as he started lowering the cage that he noticed the hoops in the air.

...

....

ZOMG MINI-DRAGON OBSTACLE COURSE!!!... right? right? OHHH!!! WERE THEY GOING TO SHRINK THEMSELVES AND RIDE THE DRAGONS?!?!?! PLEASE?!

Tazenhani 02-10-2015 02:35 AM

Filing out behind her classmates, Amur blinked several times to adjust her eyes to the outdoor lighting. It wasn't that bad out today. Quite nice actually, for an outdoor lesson.

Stepping up beside a boy she recognized - Zeke, right? - Amur followed his gaze up to the sky. Hoops? So they were going to make rocks fly!

Expecto-Penguin 02-10-2015 02:41 AM

As the puff went to the grounds, he held onto his dragon cage pretty tight because anything could happen. He saw other students were there and he went next to Margo and he saw her dragon and thought it was quite cute. As he looked up admiring the view he noticed there was an obstacle course. Aaaahhh so he knew what they were doing. He hoped his dragon was up to the task because it was snoring on. He would have to wake it up soon.

He hoped his dragon would make it through the hoops because its wings looked quite tiny but who knows his dragon could prove him wrong. Wait he needed to name him. He pondered a name and came up with Jeffery. Yeah he liked it. Jeffery the Dragon.

Holmesian Feline 02-10-2015 02:43 AM

By the time they had reached the outside, Benny thought he had the perfect name for his stone dragon. Granted it was a guys name but the charms professor supposed they really didn't have genders given their transfigurative beginnings so he figured it could work. "See Elliot..." he said as the fifth year followed the rest out into the designated area for the next part of class. "Its alright out here." Granted, he was grateful to have the means to bundle up since it was a little chilly this time of year but it wasn't like the weather was nasty.

What were those hoops up there for?

Kolyander 02-10-2015 02:47 AM

Hady kept up with the others quickly making her way outside the cage clutched tightly to her chest. There was noway she would let any harm come to her dragon. Nope he was hers and she'd protect him for everything though he probably didn't need her at all.

Once outside she found a spot near everyone else and set her bag beside her feet. Peering into the cage she hummed lightly under her breath to sooth Klaus whom had become agitated with being locked up. She wanted to let him...it wasn't fair keeping him caged as he was....

Chewing her lip she looked around raising an eyebrow at the hoops. Did her little dragon get to fly? He would really like that. All the dragons wouldn't be flying at once though would they? What if they didn't like each other?

Spotting Zeke close by she grinned and moved closer to him dragging her bag along. "Hey lion." She greeted smiling lightly.

lazykitty 02-10-2015 02:50 AM

Joining the gathering around Quigley after finding a presumably safe place for her things, Heather couldn't help but notice two things. One, the temperature wasn't as cold here. And two, there were hoops floating around here. Were they racing their dragons or something? Because Snoopy seemed to be ready. His wings were just flapping away and he was making little whining noises as if he wanted out of the cage already. "Shhh, calm down Snoopy, you'll get out soon enough." As soon as that direction was given, of course.

Daydreamer11 02-10-2015 02:53 AM

Janelle arrived out on the grounds with her dragon in tow. Fining an empty spot, she set his cage on the ground. It looked like many of the students hadn't arrived yet. Janelle was tempted to sit down next to Mike's cage, but.......you know.......Bellaire. She did kneel down just to make sure that he was fine. "So what do you think Mike. Do you like the outdoors?" Maybe they would get to let their dragons out of their cages.

Even though Mike was not a real dragon, but a transfigured rock one, living in a cage could not be much fun. Janelle wondered if they would get to keep the dragons as pets. Probably not, but she wished it could be true. Anyway, she would enjoy Mike while she could. Hopefully class would resume soon.

Deezerz 02-10-2015 03:10 AM

Taking in the fresh air, Beverly sighed, hugging the cage closer to her chest. Said sigh got stuck in her throat when her gaze landed on the tiny hoops. Holy dragons. Cough, cough, cough!

Were they going to do some circus stuff with the dragons?

She glanced down at the cage where Opal the Antipodean Opaleye dragon batted its wings against the bars. Hold on, little dragon. Your time would come...soon.

WhittyBitty 02-10-2015 03:18 AM

Holding Khaleesi's cage securely, Lux joined her classmate as they assembled outside. Good, she wasn't late. The temperature was also pretty comfortable; Professor Quigley was probably to thank for that.

"Hey, Kace. Nice looking dragon," she told her friend as she joined him. They had both chosen to do the Common Welsh Green, so that was pretty awesome.

Excitedly she waited to see what was coming next.

DanialRadFAN01 02-10-2015 03:25 AM

Right they were outside now and the majority of the walk through the Castle had been spent by Ezra talking to his little Welsh Green he decided to name Charles. As he has been walking on the grass though he hadn't noticed the floating hoops until just then.

"Anyone want to bet me if I can reach one of those?" He said as he sat his dragon cage on the grass and looked around with a grin. No professors just yet and it looked like just one Prefect.

He hadn't made a move yet, but was using his hands stretched out before him in a show of calculating distances and put his finger in his mouth and held the spit covered digit to the wind to feel.

MudInMyBlood 02-10-2015 03:26 AM

This was going to be awesome. Something wicked was going to go down with their tiny dragons, and AJ was pumped. She had to try really hard not to push and shove people out of the way to get here.

Once they made it to their destination, AJ looked around and noticed the hoops. Oh. Were they going to ride their dragons through them? They were going to charm them to be bigger, and dragon rides for everybody!

Anna Banana 02-10-2015 04:28 AM

Caged dragon in her hand, Kate followed the others out onto the grounds. Their dragons weren't heavy, but tiny Kate was already getting tired lugging the cage from one location to the next. She switched hands and held the cage firmly in her left hand as she came to a stop.

Ohh, hoops. She looked from the hoops to her dragon then back again. Something told her they were going to be flying through those hoops sometime soon. She didn't know how, but she just figured they would be.

Either way, this was so going to be one of those 'Don't try this at home' kind of things!

Ginevra 02-10-2015 04:43 AM

Cilla was very excited. It was nice to not be cooped up indoors for a change. She looked around, waiting for the rest of the lesson to begin. Her Common Welsh Green dragon had stirred thanks to the atmosphere but it was not making a fuss. She had decided to name the dragon "Ava."

Zeke was still staring up when a small body neared him. Ohhh lookit! Amur!!

"Whatever this is, it'll be awesome," he said to her, because he was all about stating the obvious.

Furthermore, in his staring and grinning and anticipating of said awesome activity, he chuckled at Hady's arrival. "Hey Lady Snake," he greeted in return. Lion. Yep, that he was.

But BAHAHAHAHAH...

"I bet you couldn't," he egged on, grinning at his buddy. He sneaked a peak around them... in case there was someone here who could tell them off. Hehehehe.

Austin and Thrasher Moore followed everybody outside. He was glad to find that the weather was comfortable, even though winter was upon them. It was something that should have been thought of during the Runes lesson in his first year. But that was in the past, and right now, it was comfortable. He could feel Thrasher moving around in the cage. The little creature seemed excited for the weather too, but Austin knew better tan to let him out of the cage yet.

FearlessLeader19 02-10-2015 05:44 AM

Adi and his dragon were here!

One of the first things he noticed as he followed his classmates onto the grounds was the hoops. Ah hah. Were they supposed to get their dragons to maneuver through as many of those as possible? Or was it a race? Whatever it was, Adi was sure of one thing. It was going to be fun!

Stepping up beside Benny, Adi was able to really get a closer look at his bestie's dragon. "Awesome,'' he commented. All dragons were awesome though they could never beat Hippogriffs.

ArianaBlack 02-10-2015 07:12 AM

The Gryffindor followed along behind the others, doing an entire balancing act with dragon cage in one hand and books and things in the other. True, he did have a bag slung over his shoulder... But... It was OWLs year, okay? There was just a lot to carry. All the time. It was a wonder how he made it outside without dropping anything. Call it, mastering the act?

Anyways.

He set down his things for a moment, even contemplating sitting down but... Nah. Didn't fancy being yelled at by Bellaire again. Did her rules still apply if there was a venue change? Eh. He wasn't sure, but better safe than sorry, right?

Felixir 02-10-2015 07:24 AM

Toby was there, but was more preoccupied with his little dragon friend than anything else. Whether he'd noticed the hoops or not, it wasn't clear. Nah. This itty bitty dragon had all his attention. He had, however, looked up and around at the other students upon arriving to see what was going on with them, but otherwise was just quite focused on his dragon.

So...whatever they were going to do outside, Kevin's mind was still on trying to think of a name for his dragon. That didn't mean he wasn't aware of his surroundings and when they were outside on the field, he looked up for a moment to check the hoops in the air.

Probably for letting their dragons to fly through.

Aaaanyways, since none of the Professors had spoken yet, Kevin walked to stand next to his best friend. "Oi, psst" he said, trying to get his attention. "You know a name for this dragon?" he held up his cage with the Chinese Fireball in it who was currently coughing small flames from its mouth.

The first thing Brooklyn had noticed when she’d arrived at the spot where the lesson was continuing was that it wasn’t as cold as she would have expected. That was interesting. She knew it wasn’t from her spirited dragon, since Balerion had been quiet ever since they’d gotten outside. Peeking down at the c age in her hand, she saw that the dragon was looking off into the distance. Sort of upward, too, but she couldn’t really see much. Until she saw the tiny little hoops up there, or at least that was what it looked like.

She guessed that was what Balerion was intrigued by. All that was left was to hope Professor Quigley didn’t keep them waiting too long, or she figured the dragon would start to try to escape again. Either that or something would get singed. She just wanted to make sure it wasn’t herself.

*snorts* Young people walk so fast these days *shakes cane*

They may have been in a hurry but Maddox had no such concerns. His feet would get him there when they did and if that happened to take a while then so be it. Admittedly, even with a lazy stride he'd managed to somewhat keep up with the group, trailing behind only a little and miraculously ahead of some actual stragglers. Technically this would mean he was on time, yes? The others were simply early.

The Charms Professor approached the group, hands buried deep in his pocket and dragon making little screeching noises from his shoulder. Oi, should have put a silence charm on this one. It wasn't loud per say, not unless you had sensitive hearing.

Little conversations fluttered by but it was one in particular that got him interested enough.

Maddox came to a stop right next to Mister Earnest and gave a glance up at the floating hoops. "I'll wager 10 galleons. 20 if you do it in under a minute." And a perfectly solemn nod. No way of telling whether he was being serious or not...but he probably was because how funny would that be? Hah. His wife wouldn't appreciate him suckering galleons out of a little boy but he'd give them back. It was all for the experience.

But then he turned his attention to the rest of students gathering with their little dragons. For the most part they seemed to have gotten a handle on them which meant they'd done the spell right and there shouldn't be any surprises.

"Now we begin the charms aspect of this class." For anyone who'd missed the memo when they left the classroom. "Up there," Point point, "are a few tiny hoops, possibly big enough for a dragon to fly through. Possibly big enough for you to fly through. There's just two problems. Can anyone guess what those are?"

He would never admit it, but half the questions he asked were because of the kinds of answers he sometimes got. Occasionally, these children proved more entertaining than Quidditch.

Feeling a scratching at his neck, Maddox nodded a little then watched his dragon take to the sky. It was all the exercise he'd be getting so why not? So yes, any guesses before they got into it? Pay no attention to the tiny dragon doing loops through one hoop.

Hera 02-10-2015 01:23 PM

Ezraaa and Quigley!

ZOMG....... Quigley was all sorts of awesome. He was BETTING Ezra to do it!!!1 HAHAHA! "Do it, man," seriously DO IT! Cause galleons were galleons, totally worth it. Did he KNOW how many skiving snack boxes he could get with that kinda money? The dude wouldn't have to attend another History of Magic lesson EVER again. Of course, one could always drop the subject he supposed. Ehhh... principle still stood.

Once things settled down, he turned and payed attention to where the lesson was going with this.

And cue more ZOOMMMMGGGing.

HAND UP!!! HAND UP!!!!

"It'stoosmallforbothofustoflythrough!" he said in one single stream of consciousness. "I mean, if we're both to fly through them, we both need to be small enough." Ahem.

Best lesson ever... unless Quigley was just teasing. Was he just teasing?
