Seriously. Ruby had been THIS CLOSE to turning around and going back and not bothering to come to class. She didn't love History of Magic THAT much. But then she'd found someone to paddle the raft for her so she'd gone with it after all, not knowing any alternate route to the classroom though there probably was one if you were the sort to care about getting to class on time or whatever. But why weren't they having class in some alternate location? Like seriously. Worst thing ever. She HAD imperviused her clothes before stepping on the raft though, just to be careful. Because gross, she didn't want even one drop of swamp water stinking her uniform up, thanks.

Just like all of last year, Ruby took what would be the easiest option for an entrance for her, though this time she did a front hand spring. Why not if you could do it, right? She ignored the music though. Boring music. And eewww groosss, she was the first one to come in. THAT DID NOT MAKE HER AN EAGER NERD it just meant she found one to get her across the swamp. That was all.

"Hello professor."

Aaaand she was sitting somewhere near the back, for the record. Couldn't read what was written on the board no matter what so there was no reason to sit closer.

"They haven't figured out what to do about the swamp as yet,'' Adi pointed out unnecessarily to Benny as he wrinkled his nose at the stench. Adi wondered how in the world they were to get to class... that is, until he spotted the rafts. "Loooook!'' He pointed to the floaty things stacked along the side of the swamp. Professor Nessa's doing most likely.

Adi promptly got one into the stinky swamp and jumped on, taking up one of the paddles. "Hop on, Dragon.'' To class on a raft they went! When his bestie was all set, the Puffer set off rowing. This was fuuuuuun! Good thing for a Beater's and Cricketer's arms!

When they made it to the other side of he corridor, Adi bounded off the raft. "Help me get this in the corner, will you, Benny?'' Leaving the paddle with the raft, he proceeded to move the raft into the corner. A few heaves later, the floaty thingy was in the corner thus clearing the way for the other students.

Adjusting his specs, the fifth year led the way to the classroom where he saw the familiar sign and heard the fun music. Too bad it wasn't a song he knew... Adi would have burst right into the room, showing off his vocals. Oh but waaaaaaiiiit!

"And as I'm going along, I carry with me promises that can't go wrong as I travel on...
As I travel on...my-" Adi thought he knew what was coming next.

"WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY!'' the crazy, hyper Hufflepuff belted out as he practically jumped into the room. Haha. See? He had guessed correctly. Lucky thing too because it would be SO embarrassing if he had gotten it wrong. And it was a good thing his vocals weren't that bad too.

"Hi, Professor Nessa.'' Adi had a big smile for the nice lady. "I'm glad you have those rafts out there.'' Now, where was Benny? Oh! Right behind him. Leaving his friend to greet the Professor, Adi went to find them some seats.

As Kace read the notice board he knew the History of Magic lesson was still on. He noticed that the professor provided them life rafts and oars to get across the swamp. I guess the school didn't know what to do about the swamp yet. But he loved the idea of using rafts and oars. Ingenious idea teach. He needed those things. I mean unless he wanted to drown.

He placed his raft onto the swamp and got into the boat and used his oar and crossed over......

ROW! ROW! ROW!

After a few rows he noticedthis was a great work out. He still paddled till he reached the front of the classroom. He squinted to see the sign. He got out of his boat and was a little out of breath. Man he needed to get into shape.

As he entered the classroom, he noticed another student made her way here. He nodded and he saw the Professor listening and dancing to the music. He chuckled and greeted her with, "Hello Professor, interesting song choice." As he was done greeting his teacher, he took a seat and wondered if his friends would make it here.

............. Really?

Finn sighed at the sight. What school would allow something like this to happen? Getting to your classroom by a raft? No school. Hogwarts truly was something else.

Whatever, he needed to get to his classroom and there was no other way to do this. So, he stepped inside a raft and began to row, paddle going this way and that. It was a bit difficult at first, figuring it out, but eventually Finn understood how to manuever with his paddle and made his way across. There, he was right at the classroom now, so he got out, then stared at the sign.

Nope.

He just walked right in, all casual, said "Hell-hello Professor," and found a seat near the back of the classroom.

A quiet snort escaped the Prefect's mouth at the sight of the rafts and oars. This was...cute of Professor Glendower. It really was and Beverly appreciated not having her robes drenched in swamp water. She's had enough of that to last her a lifetime.

Boarding on one of the rafts, she expertly took hold of the oars and made her way across the corridor. Having an older brother came in handy. Especially when he encouraged her to be independent and not a little pansy. Coming to a stop, she carefully maneuvered herself out and onto dry ground.

There. No swamp for her or on her.

Now she had to think of an entrance. She didn't want to make an entrance. Swallowing a groan, the Slytherin twirled like a ballerina on her toes, then gracefully settled back down. THERE. No one look at her. Jeez.

"Good day, Professor Glendower," she greeted with a grin nonetheless.

Moving from the entrance she took a seat near the back this time, flopping down to a quiet fellow. "Why didn't you make an entrance?" she asked curiously. Oh yeah, she noticed. She noticed most, if not a lot, of what her Slytherins did these days.

And he was one of them.

The swamp had gotten bigger. This was somewhat unsettling. Why was it growing? Would it continue to expand? What if it spread through the whole school? Penelope was worried about the swamp, but now was not the time to think about it. She needed to get to History of Magic class. There were rafts, so Penelope used one to get to class.

Today, Penelope was planning on doing something more than her usual quiet entrance. Before coming to class, she had charmed some of her origami butterflies to stick to her robes. Pulling out her wand, Penelope entered the classroom. "Hello, Professor Glendower!" Penelope twirled around a few times to show off the colorful origami butterflies. When she was done twirling around, she whispered an incantation and sent the origami butterflies up to hover near the ceiling. Penelope then found a seat near the front of the class.

What was up with this school.

This swamp was now making him work to go to class. Because no class would never be cancelled for something like this. This was Hogwarts after all and only something really serious ever cancelled Quidditch. Like death threats for an example.

But enough about that. Now there was work to be done......So because she was older than him, had really nice hair, and talked him into it. He rowed...paddled Ruby across the swamp and got wet in the process. Not his best moment at the school so far in his two years. But finally he was in the classroom after way to much rowing. Too much for a twelve year old.

"Hi, Professor"

Huh this song was terrible. He rather be on his way out of the class.

This class better be worth him rowing/paddling across a swamp.

Ruby did wonder if she should give the kid treats or candy or something as payment... but decided no. Dante could just add that to the tab. The Barrington tab. Because clearly Barringtons had a long way to go to get back in her good graces. Mhmm. Still, he got a thankful little smile because he deserved that much.

And he hadn't got any swamp water on her (or her hair) so there was that.

.... ugh was class starting yet? Sooner it started sooner it would be over. Hopefully someone interesting would sit next to her at least.

Well this was different. Janelle had never heard of rowing yourself to class unless you lived in Venice or something. The first thing she thought was, how was Margo going to make it to class?........being terrified of water and all. Looking around, there was no sign of her friend so she climbed into a raft and set sail for the classroom.

When Janelle reached the other side of the swamp, she exited the boat and pulled it out of the water. No worse for wear, she headed for the classroom. Upon arriving, she saw the "Make an Entrance" sign. Hmmmm. Janelle wasn't sure what to do. She was no dancer, like her sister so that was out of the question. After standing in thought for several minutes, she finally made a decision. Janelle slid her bookbag into the classroom Head of her. Then she did a handstand and entered the classroom walking on her hands. Once inside, she picked up her bag and looked around.

"Hello Professor", Janelle said as she searched for an empty seat. Seeing Adi, she claimed a seat near him. "Hi there", Janelle said to the Prefect. Then she got her things ready and waited for class to begin.

"Guess not," Benny remarked in agreement. That much was clear by the fact the smell and the water still existed in the first floor corridor WAY past where it had currently resided for so many years with not much trouble. The fofth year had no desire to trudge through it again, especially seeing as it had seemed to get higher then the first time it had appeared past its bounds. When he had been changed into a ride for a certain Slytherin 2nd year as the water rose.

The Gryffindor followed his friend's gaze after his exclaimation, noticing the rafts there against the wall. Oh look, another option. As Adi claimed one and got in himself, Benny followed suit as instructed since it wasn't like he was going the other way. Paddle...paddle paddle. The two boys rowing along the corridor until they got to the other side where the History of Magic classroom resided. After getting back out as carefully as he could, he helped the Hufflepuff pull the raft out and aside for later.

Now they could just head into the room.

Well with an entrance.

Benny never liked that idea and having to think of something. And then as he moved with Adi, the other boy suddenly sung out causing him to jump in surprise. Well if that wasn't some sort of entrance, he didn't know what was. He fought the urge to color, pushing though to make his way further inside. "Hello Professor," he greeted before follow Adi to a seat.

Dear Merlin....a swamp......rafts....water of some kind........ Margo could not do this........

Nope, her love of history was NOT going to get her across that, forget it....never mind. She will kindly take her leave now. Margo looked at the rafts eagerly, wanted to be able to cross to her favorite subjects, but that obviously was not going to happen...turning to leave Margo hesitated for just a second....maybe.....

Ah, there was a fellow Slytherin, better than any other student from a different house going over to sit next to him. Made it slightly, slightly, more comfortable for this one here. An her question, thanks for that. Finn had never been the flashy type, or one to do something spectacular, just sorta ordinary and sorta there in the background. That was his 'entrance'.

"..... Because." He answered lamely. Slytherins liked more thorough answers sometimes, didn't they? Or at least, the girls maybe. He sighed and gave it more thought, trying to sound like he'd walked in normally for a specific reason and not because he didn't want to make an entrance. "The-the sign. It said... respectfully." Nod. "Walk-walking in normally is respectful." Aha!

Rowing was good for you right? Puck questioningly thought as she pulled herself into the raft and began to paddle her way to the classroom. Seriously, what was the point if it wasn’t you know good for you?

Wait was that music? Was that Professor Glendower singing? Songs from musicals right? Really she would have been more of a fan of hearing something from Wicked or who knows? Chicago? Something older. Still as she stepped out of her raft and attached it on the other side she sent Professor Glendower a nice big smile.

“Hello Professor, what musical is this from? It sounds really nice” and yes she might have been being extra nice right now but she rather liked Professor Glendower. She did of course also send Finn, Kace, and well everyone who was already in the room big old smiles because that was just who she was.

Hayden was there and ready for History of Magic. If she could get to it, that was. Why was there a swamp in the way? They were at a magic school, weren't they? Why couldn't somebody just magic it away somehow? It couldn't be that hard. It was in the way and disturbing their learning. But, as it was not gone, Hayden had to figure out a way to get across. Oh good, rafts.

"Hi Margo," she greeted the young Hufflepuff. "Want to come across with me?" She looked a bit nervous, so it might be best if they did it together. She gave the girl an encouraging smile and got a raft ready in the water. She glanced back at Margo before getting in. Was she coming?

Merlin's graying underpants! What was that STENCH? The Gryffindor had to plug his nose just to keep from getting sick. Ugh. What in the name of-- Woah. This was... new. You'd think that with Prefect rounds and everything he would have noticed the fact that the swamp decided to quadruple in size?!? Actually, no. This was Zander Adair and he was quite the unobservant Fifth Year so maybe you wouldn't quite expect it. Ahem.

ANYWAYS, the thought of just turning around at the sight of the blocked entrance certainly did cross his mind. But alas, it was OWLs year. He really had no choice, huh? Besides... Professor Flamsteed might find out that he skipped and then that would mean all sorts of trouble and no. He wasn't going to make it the third Gryffindor detention of the term thank you very much. Torture chamber sounded out right horrifying. Especially after what Kevin said about the flesh eating slugs. Yeah, no perfectly content not being in detention.

Except one problem? How was he supposed to get across? Zander stood around for a few idle seconds before deciding that walking through it was the only way. And if everyone else did it too, then really no one could judge him about walking into class soaking wet. Besides, there were-uh- there were spells to fix that.... Right?! Okay. He'd do it. Though... he'd have to protect the contents of his bag... He had his Runes book in here. Couldn't possibly make it through the term without that!!

The Gryffindor took a deep breath and hoisted his bag into the air so that it was above his head, before he began taking a few steps closer to the swamp. And here goes... well, everything actually. Merlin, this thing was even thicker than he thought. And so murky that he could hardly even see his legs. Well, at least he looked pretty epic stepping his way through. Like a hero actually, on his way to fight crime. Real epic!! Especially when you listened to the music playing in the background. Ahem. Noticing a couple of passerbyers making their-- WAIT a minute???? WHERE DID THEY GET THAT RAFT????

O_____________________o Where did EVERYONE get those rafts?!???? .... Oh Merlin. The whole time he spent standing there freaking out about how to get across, he completely missed what was sitting there in front of him. It was in plain sight and... Well now it was too late really. He was almost half way there.

So um. He was in the classroom now and um soaking wet from the bottom half down. Oops? And smelled like swamp water too, probably -______- Glendower had put rafts out there for everyone, hadn't she? Sweet Merlin. Gah. Speaking of which, there she was now. "Hi, Professor.... Is there a spell that will make my robes not smell like swamp?" it was an important question ahem, which he asked whilst ringing out the bottom of his shirt.

The hot air charm, he was all over that. "Ventus!"... Was there a way to speed up the pace? At this rate he'd be here forever. Also that was entrance enough, right? The walk over was pretty epic... Minus the bit where he could've used a raft. Yeah, minus that bit.

"Hi, Hayden" Margo smiling when she remembered the girl's name. She was getting better at remembering them...but back to the matter at hand...was she or was she not going to get on the raft. "I'm......I'm......I'm cccc.....coming..." 'I think' Margo wanted to add on the end, but the class was waiting and they needed to get going if they were or not.

Slowly.......very slowly....Margo made her way onto the raft it rocking just slightly before she was securely on it.... Holy Merlin....okay...so was on it... "I think if we go slow.....I'll manage" Margo said growing and oar for rowing......her breathing was starting to get out of control already.

Hayden was very concerned for the younger girl. She kept a small, encouraging smile on her face as Margo climbed aboard, but it changed to a slight frown. "Are you okay?" She hoped the other girl wouldn't throw up or anything. That wouldn't be a good situation for either of them.

Hayden took the other oar and began rowing. She made sure to go as slow as possible. No rocking of the boat. She glanced over the side to see if she could tell how deep the water was. It was pretty murky so she couldn't see the bottom, but she was sure it wasn't dangerous. They wouldn't have to cross it if it was at all dangerous.

"What are you going to do for your entrance?" Hayden decided it might be a good idea to keep talking, to distract Margo from the swamp that seemed to be scaring her. They were about halfway across now, so they should arrive in the classroom soon. Hayden would have been there by now if she'd gone by herself and not had to go so slow, but she didn't mind. She was glad to help anyone in need.

The presence of a swamp in front of the History of Magic classroom was no surprise to Lux after the cartography club meeting, so she didn't even bat an eye over it. Instead, she got herself a raft and rowed herself over to the other side.

Hearing music, she danced into the classroom. "Hello, Professor Glendower." See, Lux wasn't letting the gross swamp get to her; she smiled at the Professor before making her way to her seat.

This was so NOT the way Hady wanted to start her day. Staring at the swamp before her the young girl wrinkled her nose slightly in disgust. It was best to just get across it as quickly as one could. She'd already spotted several others getting themselves a little raft like thing as well as an ore and rowing themselves across.

It didn't appear to be to difficult. Glancing around and not seeing anyone whom needed any help with getting across she made the choice to go at it alone. Slinging her bag firmly over her shoulder she made her way towards the rafts collecting one with a little bit if effort. You know her being shortish and the rafts being piled up wasn't such a good thing for her. Anyhow with a bit of tugging and standing on ones tippy toes Hady managed to get herself a raft.

Dragging it over to the edge of the swamp she pushed it out into the murky disgusting foul smelling muck. Next she had to get onto the raft which wasn't all that bad. One knee on it hands down and a small hop, and she was on. Carefully scooting herself to the middle she stuck the ore into the swamp and began to paddle her way across. It was slow going, gross and making her a little nauseous but she got there.

Clambering off the raft and back onto the corridor floor she pulled the raft off to the side and set the ore with it. Taking a few breaths as she adjusted her bag onto her shoulder and made way for the classroom door. Now an entrance? Really?

Wasn't the simple fact that she'd made it across and wasn't sick good. Letting out a sigh she shifted her gaze back to the swamp. Maybe one of her friends would show up really soon and they could make an entrance together? Probably not but she'd give it a moment or two...at least to think anyways.

Aegis stood outside the the Class, and looked across the Swamp and at the door to the Classroom. He saw the Rafts but thought for a moment. What would make for a better entrance? He looked back to the Entrance and low and behold there was Zander Adair. That's when Aegis formulated his entrance...He hopped into the Swamp and Yup it was waist deep, he dredged through the murky water and with stealth sank himself into deeper covering himself in swampy mud and plants. When he reached the entrance he pulled himself up and with two quick tip-toes grabbed at Zander's Shoulder. "SWAMP MONSTER!" The Gryffindor yelled at his Prefect. Hoping to get the perfect reaction out of his Fellow Lion.

Oh, cool! A raft and an oar! Hogwarts was just full of surprises, and the way to get to History of Magic class was just one of them! Kate approached the swamp, wrinkling her nose as she did so, all thanks to the smell coming from the swamp. What were the Weasley twins thinking when they'd made this thing?

Kate selected a raft and an oar and lowered herself into the raft. If she remembered correctly, she was supposed to dip one side of the oar into the water, push the boat along, and then switch sides. Easy enough. Kate began pushing the boat along, and soon enough, she was on the opposite end of the swamp. She left the raft and oar there, so she could get back across and then headed to class.

When she finally walked inside, she spotted the professor right away. She was singing, which made the second professor Kate knew of to sing as the students walked into class. "Hello, Professor," she greeted, and then she took a seat and waited for things to get started.

The swamp stuff had been AWESOME! Seriously AWESOME. Zeke wasn't afraid of getting wet, even in the stinky swamp, but he did make use of the boats as well... never mind the fact that he had lost his footing coming off it, and managed to plant himself bum down into the murky water... with Merlin knew what in it.

OH WELL.

He opted to ignore the sign to the classroom now, no more 'entrances' of any flamboyant nature from him. Just casual walking through the door covered from toe to bottom with swamp slime. Yep.

Zeke waved to the Professor, not wanting to disrupt her singing or whatever.

Unable to come up with a decent entrance after making her way across Hady let out a sigh. Adjusting her bag over her shoulder she slipped into the classroom. "Hello Professor." She greeted quietly sliding into the nearest seat.

Plunking her bag down at her feet she pulled out the usual items or parchment, quill and textbook setting them on her desk. Resting back into her seat she watched everyone else enter the room.

She didn't expect him to say much after his first response. Some people were reserved like that, and having been there Beverly didn't pry. But at his next words the corner of her mouth twitched, but she concealed it. Was that a stutter?

Tearing her gaze, which had lingered to the front of the classroom, back to him, she nodded in understanding. "Yours was quite respectful." Another nod. "I like that." Only because some Snakes were behaving like brats and a quiet, rule-follower was refreshing.

"Good job...uh, what's your name?" She's learned most of the younger ones, but that was mostly because they needed more guidance than the older ones.
