Herbology 1

http://oi58.tinypic.com/33jogma.jpg
The door of Greenhouse one is wedged open and ready for students to enter for the first Herbology lesson of the term. It's a bit chilly, but comfortable. The large, and relatively empty working table in the center of the room has seats all around it for each student.

Professor Millard is standing nervously at the front of the table, hands behind his back and rocking slightly on his heels. As soon as you enter, however, he straightens up and intensifies his expression. He greets each student with a nod.

ooc: Hello! Class will hopefully begin in around 14-15 hours.
Class has officially STARTED.

Herbology, Margo wasn't a green thumb, but she didn't necessary kill everything that grew either! Margo loved to learn new things and plants could be kind of cool right! So Margo ran down to the green houses with a smile. She was back to her usual self. "Hello Professor" Margo said smiling and taking her seat around the big table.

Margo was the first there so she waited to see who else would be coming in

FearlessLeader19 02-01-2015 09:01 PM

It was chilly, yo! Not that this Social Badger minded. He loved the chill but he was all dressed for it, anyway. Just in case it got worse, ya know. "Hello, Professor-Groundskeeper Millard,'' he said cheerfully the moment he stepped into Greenhouse one. Er... the Groundskeeper part slipped out  "Sorry about that.'' Millard got an apologetic look before the boy turned his attention to the table.

Oh look! He was among the first to arrive. Spotting Margo, the fifth year decided he would sit next to her for this lesson. "Hey, Margo. How are you?'' As he spoke to her, Adi set about retrieving his text book and quill from his bag.

oh its Erik ok 02-01-2015 09:04 PM

So, Plants. Not the things you set on fire. Dante was beginning to realize that. Every so slowly. Dante still missed Professor Walton. That man was the definition of cool. Even though he cared about plants way to much if you asked Dante. And that tree.

Shrug.

Dante had nothing against the Groundkeeper or should he say Herbology Professor now. Both. It was a little confusing. Anyway, He was cool in his own way.Dante was still going to be polite like usual and call him Professor instead of just Groundskeeper. This polite thing was hard work.

"Hi, Professor M"

Gloves ready, and wand away. No fire in this classroom. Grayson has hot enough as it is.

No need for Dante's help anymore.

Time for plants...one of Caleb's least favorite subjects. However, he was looking forward to seeing this new professor. He wasn't really NEW, though, he was also the Groundskeeper...which was odd. Did they have...grounds to keep? Not classes to teach? Ah well. Caleb was anxious to see how this was going to go...

"Hello Professor," he told him with a smile as he walked in and took his usual seat.

As Kace made her way to Herbology, he forgot there was going to be a new Professor. He wondered about what this new teacher will bring to the table. He was excited to see. As he made his way to the classroom, he saw a couple of students beat him there. As he turned his head he saw the new Professor immediately. "Hello Professor!" he gave him a warm smile. He must be nervous teaching a group of new students.

The big puff went to go find his seat and he saw Margo was there. Perfect person to sit next to. He took his seat right beside her and smiled, "Heyy Margo." he greeted her with a one armed hug.

Daydreamer11 02-01-2015 09:56 PM

Ahhh, Herbology. Janelle made her way to the Greenhouse, trying to imagine why her sister liked this class so much. She didn't get the attraction, but she was willing to give the plants a chance. Entering the greenhouse, Janelle said, "Hello Professor". Then she saw her friends and greeted them. "Hi Margo, hi Adi". Finally, she found a seat and plopped into it. Then Janelle took a moment to unpack her things. Deciding that she was all set, she sat back and waited.

Anna Banana 02-01-2015 10:17 PM

Herbology!

Kate had always thought Herbology was interesting. Some people saw it as just growing plants, but not Kate. Kate liked how all the plants were basically used as potions, and she knew how important potions were. Also, there was the fact that a lot of magical plants were forces to be reckoned with. A person could get eaten alive by one if they didn't know what they were doing.

Kate strolled into the greenhouse and took a look around. "Hello, Professor," she said, noting the professor nearby. Was it just her, or did the professor seem like he'd just encountered a Venomous Tentacula? She slid into an empty seat by Janelle then waited for everybody else to arrive.

Casey O 02-01-2015 10:23 PM

Marigold gave the Professor a LARGE GRIN as well as a "Hello, Professor!" on the way into class. She had no idea why she was in such a good mood but she was not gonna question it. She was going to like this class or die trying.

WhittyBitty 02-01-2015 10:33 PM

Entering the greenhouse, Lux got the feeling the Professor was nervous. Awww, probably because it was his first lesson and they were all new students of his.

"Hello, Professor Millard." After giving him a big smile she made her way over to find a place to sit, waving at her friends as she passed. In the end she took the seat beside Kace who had Margo on his other side. "Hey, guys!"

Weasley174 02-01-2015 10:38 PM

Angel was totally looking forwards to this lesson. "Hello, Professor." Angel couldn't wait to see what they would be learning today. "How are you today?" Angel then went and found a place near her friends.

Reporting to Herbology, as a Wayne does.

...Not really, but her marks were on the line and she had responsibilities and blah blah blah. She was already mentally preparing herself for her dad's onslaught of questions about school the next time she'd see him. And on this she couldn't just bat her eyelashes and get out of it.

On this specific day, though, she was in a good mood because Valentina had agreed to come down with her, which was a miracle considering the girl was like an angry little hermit.

"Sit with me," she said mumbled, linking her arm around her friends and leading them to two empty seats. And there was the professor, all little and nodding. "Good day, professor," she greeted with a formal nod, even though he didn't look like he'd respond.

Oh boo. Herbology. Miss Valentina's least favorable subject, however her dear cousin insisted she attended this lesson and leave her hermit shell for one day.

Not admitting she was actually pretty pleased to be hanging out with Beverly, she flashed a smile and nodded "fine, pick a seat." Valentina agreed, in her broken English.

Passing by the small man in front of the greenhouse, Valentina's eyes widened. She was bewildered...what happened to the rest of him? Or was that it? He forgot to grow...

Valentina continued walking next Beverly, until reaching their seats. The young Gyffindor was extremely socially selective, therefore her effort to speak to other students was low...very low.

Glancing around she eyed those who were already here and those who were barely arriving as well.

Yaya 02-01-2015 11:37 PM

Was it time to get her hands dirty? Maybe...just maybe.

Paloma walked quietly into the greenhouse, trying to make a nice entrance. "Hello, Professor...having a good day?" Bet he was, he didn't look too nervous.

Waiting for his answer, Pal looked around. Who could she sit with? Or just really share the activities with?

Kolyander 02-02-2015 12:28 AM

Plants. That's what time it was. It was plant time. Herbology time.

Making her way towards the room she was rather glad she wore her hoodie underneath her robes today. It was a little bit cool outside. Not freezing but cool enough to give her a small chill which she wasn't all that thrilled about. Fidgeting a little bit with the pendent around her neck Hady glanced about as she entered the greenhouse. It seemed to look the same as usual.

"Hello Professor." Hady greeted warmly making her way for an empty seat she slipped herself onto it setting her bag at her feet. Now all she needed was for class to start.

Hey Ju 02-02-2015 12:42 AM

After much consideration, Agatha decided to not skip that Herbology lesson. Of all subjects she took, Herbology was one of the few she could manage to do something, because it was mainly hands-on work and not necessarily spell-based stuff.

Or so she hoped this lesson would be. You never knew with Herbology, really. Morgana. The Slytherin hoped she wouldn't regret her decision. "Hello, professor."

Sararara 02-02-2015 01:03 AM

Best class best class it was TIME for the BEST CLASSS. Norah SPRINTED down to the greenhouses as fast as she possibly could, considering she was wearing two jumpers under her robes. Plus a scarf, all yellow-y and puffer-y because reasons. But who CARED about being chilly when there were PLANTS to play with learn about? Not her. Not even a little.

The third year came to a skidding halt in front of Professor Millard and gave him a big grin. "Hi, Professor!" Ehehehe. Herbology was just the BEST okay? Veryveryvery exciting. Veryveryvery. Once she found an empty seat, Norah plopped her bag down next to it and sat down, wiggling excitedly because HERBOLOGY. DUH.

MudInMyBlood 02-02-2015 01:45 AM

Herbology was pretty cool because there were some wicked plants that actually ate flesh. How awesome was that? Furthermore, who didn't love them a nice little plant that needed more than water to survive? So much cooler than the boring muggle plants Angel had at home.

AJ made her way down to the greenhouses and was surprised to see that she wasn't running as late as usual. Was her punctuality actually getting better? Most likely not. She would just chalk this up to luck. "Hello, professor." He seemed like he was trying REALLY hard to not seem nervous. Hmm.

There was Adi, and there was actually a spot available next to him. AJ went over and plopped down beside him. She gave him a nice shoulder bump that clearly said hello.

Felixir 02-02-2015 02:21 AM

Plants and things. Actually one of Toby's best subjects. Easily the original best, at least, the class he first realised he had a natural affinity for and all that. So, though he'd been sort of not that keen on school things recently, Herbology was always a class he was least-not-keen for, and that was almost a positive thought, and he clung to it like life itself.

Toby had a smile plastered on his face, same as he usually did, as he entered the greenhouses and approached the big table for a free seat. He saluted Professor Millard as he went.

"Alright Professor?" he said by way of greeting, settling down and pulling out some things to take notes with. "Nice day." Was it? Toby hadn't actually checked, despite the outdoor trek he'd just taken to get here. But y'know... automatic politeness and small talk had a tendency to kick in sometimes.

Ginevra 02-02-2015 02:27 AM

Cilla didn't mind Herbology. Maybe it was due to the fact that she did some gardening at home. As she entered the greenhouse, she smiled at Professor Millard and said, "Hello, Professor."

Cilla then found a vacant seat and sat down.

Holmesian Feline 02-02-2015 04:11 AM

Herbology.

His second best class pretty much and his girlfriend's all-time favorite subject matter. Which may or may not have any influence on the effort he gave to the class, at least after his former head of house Professor Bentley was no longer teaching the class. It would be interesting to see how the new professor handled lessons....even if the man wasn't new to staff. Benny himself hadn't had any real interactions with the groundskeeper before.

Entering the assigned greenhouse, the Gryffindor noticed quite a few people already there, including the professor, Adi, Angel and AJ. Seemed he was the last of their little group to arrive downstairs for the lesson. A downfall of having to go back and retrieve something when he had been halfway down. "Good day, Professor," he greeted before heading to take a seat next to Angel.

"Hey..." he greeted her and the other two nearby.

SlytherinSistah 02-02-2015 04:29 AM

"Professor Millard, hello." Cutty greeted their newest Herbology Professor with a casual air equivalent to someone harbouring large-impact news. As if he had a secret or were hiding something. He paid no mind the intense expression. He recognized it immediately and figured they'd be in for a hard handed lesson, though he pitied that it wouldn't stay that way. At least, not according to Cutty's mind.

He first spotted Wayne and what's this? Some Gryffindor girl!

Now, a normal, healthy person would, if they saw their best friend linking arms with another, take this easy. Or perhaps they might go over and say 'hello'.

Cutty was no such normal or healthy person.

So, what he ended up doing was going over to where the two girls had sat and w e d g e d himself (certainly leading with the rear-end) between them and pulling up a chair just to break them up, took a seat there and then. Once seated, he leaned in and spoke quietly toward his prefect. "Wayne. How are yer? It feels like it's been forever. I feel like I've missed out on eons. Just eons. Did I tell yer I started tutoring? It's all part of me 5-year plan. Did I tell yer about me 5-year plan?" He slowly inhaled and sat further back into his chair and 'noticed' Valentina. "Oh. Pardon me. I didn't see yer had company. To whom do I owe the pleasure?"

There was a Cutty Mordaunt...

...wedging his bum between Valentina and her.

Beverly pressed her lips together, attempting to hide her amusement at his behavior. Certainly he'd noticed Valentina's presence but decided to ignore it. He wasn't that daft to have not to. He was always so cool in making his presence known, this...this was something else and it amused the young Wayne.

"Hey--oh?" Five year plan? "No, you haven't told me about it." And hopefully he wasn't tutoring non-Slytherins. He almost had her on that when he turned to Valentina. Right. He hadn't 'noticed' her. "Cutty this is Valentina. Valentina this is Cutty." There might have been a hint of pride as she presented her best mate.

.....Okay. A lot of pride. Cutty Mordaunt was her best mate, let it be known.

ArianaBlack 02-02-2015 06:01 AM

Zander was quite thrilled about this lesson actually. You know now that Wicked Walton wasn't around anymore, Herbology was back up on his list of favorite subjects thankyouverymuch. Of course, he had been hoping that when he got that horribly Wicked Walton fired-- it was all him, okay?-- that Beautiful Professor Bentley would have seen how miserable Hogwarts was without her presence and would have taken the job up immediately.

But alas, sometimes good things weren't meant to happen. SIGH.

Though, any person had to be a step up from the last guy. So yeah, the Gryffindor had the tiniest smile on his face as he made his way inside. "Hello, sir." Woah, Professor was kinda short, huh? Now uh... Where to sit?

Excuse me? What is this little man's problem?!

The young Gryffindor wrinkled her nose and was most displeased with this boy! How rude and uncouth of him.

And now he has the excuse he didn't 'notice' her?! "No of course you didn't, since you kept blabbing away." Valentina replied to him, in her broken English. As to whom he owed the pleasure to? Well now she didn't want that to be answered. Not after that stunt. Can he leave now?

.......

Wait was Beverly being serious? Apparently he was this 'Cutty'..more like a nuisance!

Valentina remained displeased as Beverly introduced the young boy to her and simply raised a brow and shrugged. He was rude.

Wait...was this her cousin's famous boyfriend?

"Is this your boyfriend, Beverly?" Valentina pointed at Cutty as she spoke to Beverly. She had been told about a boyfriend, but never had the pleasure of meeting him. What a bad intro, if she may add. But hey Bev liked, what Bev liked, who was she to judge after all?..
