Seating himself opposite of Ben - because he learned better from demonstrations than from reading anyway - he started by following the older Lion's lead.

"Is this to hold the fish in?" he asked, wondering if he should fill it with water.

Zeke chose to take a seat on the other side of the table which was fine by Ben. It meant they could see each other better as they both worked, rather than having to look to their sides to make any visual contact. As long as neither cast a spell that went wild and likely in the direction in front of them they were good. And look...even without prompting, his younger lion buddy was following what he had done so they now had two clean bowls with which to work with.

"Uh huh..." Benny answered, confirming Zeke's question. "I wanted to think ahead. Probably should fill it too," he added, casting a quiet "Aguamenti" to do just that. With the prep in place, he opened the transfiguration book up once more, setting it between them in such away they could both see.

Cool beans, he knew that. And thinking ahead, that was all sorts of clever. They were totes doing this! Though... WHAT were they changing into a fish exactly??? Because he wasn't one to waste food, ever.

"Right, yeah," filling it, yeah!!!

Zeke followed Ben's lead, happy enough to be the dudes delayed mirror image.

"Agumenti," he cast, watching as his bowl filled with water before stopping it with a casual, "Finite."

So now they could do the really fun bit, right? Right? Like... they didn't have any more prep to do, surely. "What're we transfiguring?" he asked, glancing down he length of the table. Cutlery? Goblets? Napkins? Miscellaneous?

Damien knew what an embarrassed Zander looked like and this was definitely an embarrassed Zander look. He'd been teasing, having a laugh as these brits liked to call it, he hadn't meant to cause Zander discomfort... Dude needed to just be a bit more... Well, chill, maybe a little more confident too, he was a cool guy, and funny and good looking, if he had a bit of confidence too then he'd be even cooler. "Aw, come on, man, I was just joshing, it is you know, a bit fancy seeing you here... " Damien said, laughing just a little, making fun of himself to try to sort out the sitch.

He scratched the back of his head, grinning at Zander's observation, more because it made him feel sort of obvious than anything else. "Yeah, I kind of prefer the quiet down there, y'know? I love people, but sometimes it feels like an overload with so many around... " Damien quietly explained, it wasn't a lie, but it wasn't really the truth ether, not that he liked keeping things to himself or didn't trust Z, it just seemed rude to spill his sorrows while the other boy was eating so happily.

One thing Hogwarts really did have going for it was the food, like this fried chicken, seriously, how was it better than Roscoes? How was that possible? Only answer? Magic. Damien tried to eat the drumstick as politely as he could, but it was sort of tricky being well mannered when you were eating something this greasy with your hands. how was he? "Ehhh... I'm aight, I'm alive for the most part, which is cool." Damien joked, wiping at his mouth with his napkin. Again, no sorrow spilling all over Zander's potatoes. "How about you? How're you doing?" He asked, sort've echoing the other boy.

And two seemingly really excited Gryffindors ready to try out this spell that had caught their attention out of random book he had found. Benny was reading over the entry once more before hearing Zeke's inquiry. Hmmm...good question. The book didn't give anything specific that needed to be used, so he supposed it was open for interpretation.

"Not sure..." Benny answered at first, looking around the table for ideas while letting his hand test his robe pockets for anything. He found a spare quill and nearly pulled it out to use when he spotted a set of salt and pepper shakers doen the table. "Hold on..." he said, slipping his legs free of the bench once more and getting up to his feet. The fifth year went to retrieve them before returning and taking his seat once more.

"Here..." he said, offering his partner-in-crime the pepper while he held onto the salt. "These might work. And are relatively the same."

Paloma was interesting and kind that in and of itself was really all that Puck needed to know right now. Really, she was definitely going to try and keep in contact with the seventh year dancer. “Thanks Paloma, I love your name myself” she grinned over to her and couldn’t help but smile even more when drumming was brought up. “That is awesome – really? You think I should try it? I might…I mean I already share a manager with Jun”s he beamed because hello Bianca was amazing.

“Oh that’s great I miss Jun myself – really? Oh that is precious! Think about it in ten years there’s the chance that there will be another Kim here.” Puck grinned before turning her attention to what Paloma had said next…a gentleman that was hard to come by. “Really? Like he holds the door open for you and everything?” She asked because hello? Where could she get one of those?

“I think more aroma-based? Like find scents that are supposed to trigger those reactions? Like I know Sandlewood and Ylang Ylang are supposed to be good for this and I’m thinking maybe doing a peppermint and I’ve no idea what else as a base in another? Because it is really good for confidence and smells nice.” She admitted in the end.

As she sat there she just grinned. “I kind of got the idea when I saw how nervous my CoPrefect Zander always gets in situations – maybe having something that can boost confidence on him will work even without him having to use it?” She thought and didn’t even notice that she was giving off a slightly sheepish twinkle in her eyes.

Hot chocolate. She was in desperate need of some hot chocolate. Really, anything that would warm her hands and belly would be welcomed. Her bag full textbooks and homework assignments, that she had put off until the last minute, was slung over her shoulder. One of these days she was going to get ahead of the game, and do the homework as soon as it was assigned. PFFT. Who was she kidding?

The lion wasn't sure if she wanted to go to the kitchens or take her chance at her house table. Her feet moved without any direction from her brain, and before she knew it, she was at the lion table. It was probably better this way. Maybe she could get through her piles of homework and snack at the same time.

AJ plopped her bag down on the table, and opened it up. Ah, there was her vial of potion. It was amazing that it didn't wind up broken, and her bag soaked. With one hand she grabbed her a hot chocolate and sipped it, while the other hand flipped the vial through her fingers. Back and forth, back and forth. This was one assignment she was looking forward to. She just needed somebody fun to take it with.

Homework was not something Ezra wanted to be doing right now but it was the weekend and he had tried to make himself do most of it on a day he didn't already have class with the stipulation that the weather was gross. Today it was, so playing outside, daring his friends about who could step into the Forest the furthest, even going down the the greenhouses to do his Herbology homework was out of the question because he didn't fancy getting rained on.

The boy decided to go to the Great Hall since the common room was full of older kids studying for exams and stuff and see if anyone else was doing homework preferably potions or care of magical creatures. Finding a seat at the Gryffindor table and pouring himself some pumpkin juice and grabbing a slice of toast, Ezra looked around.

Hmmmm....aha! Not too far down to his left a girl he recognized from his year and subsequently most of his lessons was sitting with, as if by a miracle, a potion vial in her hand. Boom baby!

"Hey, AJ right?" The third year asked loudly as he slid with some speed down the bench to end up right across from her. "You want to work on Potions together? That's not just a tonic is it?" He said pointing at the glass in her hand, not realizing it was rude to ask others about their medication needs.

Right as she was about the flip the vial another time between her fingers, she heard a rather loud voice calling her name. It wasn't one that she was super familiar with. AJ was about to turn her head to see who it was when the boy slid down, and was now sitting in front of her. A huge smile played on her face. She had sort of met him at their first ever feast at Hogwarts. "Yup, that's me." Thankfully he knew to call her by her nickname. It seemed like only the professors insisted on calling her Aubrey. "Sup, Ezra?" See, she remembered and everything. He was in her year so it would be kind of lame if she didn't know that.

Man on man, it was lucky that she came to her house table because sitting right before her was a partner ready to go, and she definitely needed one of those. "Sure do!" Let's just hope that Ezra was fun. "A tonic? Isn't that for nervous people?" Or wimps. Whatever floated your boat. "Nah, I have nerves of steel." Which was something that seemed to get her in trouble.

"Bottoms up?" she asked as a sort of question because they had just agreed, and AJ was ready to see how this potion would effect her. Her vial was held up in the middle of the table while she casually waited for him to bump vials with hers.

Right, he knew he had her name down. He'd talked with her before and stuff and he wasn't a total doof who went and forgot people's names. And she knew his, coolness.

"Great! Cosgrach wouldn't be happy if I didn't do the homework, I sort of zoned out during the lesson the other morning." Potions was interesting enough but how was he supposed to pay attention one hundred percent whenever there were so many interestingly gross things in jars floating around and the entire fact that they were in a DUNGEON for class.

If she was a wimp it wouldn't have bothered Ezra too much. He would actually probably try to scare her somehow; pretend his potion was a poison or something when he drank it. That would be pretty hilarious. Speaking of his potion...where'd he put that vial? Looking around in his bag for a second and pulling out his potions textbook just in case he needed it, he remembered where it was. He stood up abruptly and put his foot up on the bench and raised his pant leg. After jamming a hand into his sock he pulled out the vial.

"Cheers!" He said as he pulled the cork out with his teeth and made to clink his glass against her's.

Zoning out was something that AJ could understand and relate to because focusing was mad hard. "I hear ya. I was behind all lesson." It was amazing that she had managed to brew the potion correctly considering she had to play catch up the entire lesson.

Did he actually have his potion on him? It was cool if she needed to wait for him to figure out where it was that he had stashed it. There were plenty of snacks to keep her occupied for a while. She was just about to suggest that when he found the potion in his sock of all places. "Nice storing space." No judgements here. If anything AJ was planning on keeping that in mind for next time.

As soon as the glasses clinked, she tipped her head back and lets the contents of the vial run down her throat. Usually AJ wasn't known for having patience, but this time it was intriguing. How was she going to feel?

"Thanks, I keep my wand there sometimes too. You never know when there will be a hole in your pocket or bag. You don't normally lose your foot." Accidents happened but not on a daily basis.

Right, drinking ze potion. Ezra tipped the vial up as it touched his lips and tasted the sweet liquid cross his tongue before he swallowed. "How long is this supposed to take to work?" He thought.

He bet his would work FIRST!

Her head was nodding as she listened to his logic. It made sense to her, and she was totally sold on it. "I'll have to remember that." Only it would really suck if you forgot your wand was in there and you accidentally snapped it in half. Could you repair your wand? Obviously you would have to use someone else's to do it, but was it possible? AJ made a mental note to ask a professor that. That could be handy information.

The liquid residue was still on her tongue and she noticed that it was sweet. "At least it didn't taste like boogies." Sweet was something she could get down with. "I dunno." Maaaaybe she should have paid closer attention in class. She still felt the same.

"Maybe brewed I mine because wrong I feel don't a thing." What the what? It was making perfect sense in her head, but it was coming out all wrong. Or was it right? It was definitely right because she could do no wrong. In fact she was pretty sure she could be a potions master. That was how confident she was about it all. "Wanna some have fun?" she asked while wriggling her eyebrows at him.

"Fun? I'm pretty sure you couldn't NOT have fun if you are with me." Ezra was pretty interesting obviously. His uncle had been the Headmaster here before Truebridge and he was sorted into Gryffindor, AND he was a third year and he had won a bet against the Charms Professor. So...yeah.

"But sure! What do you have in mind? Like a race? I could race you to the scones basket over there at the end of the table!" Or they could do what she was thinking.

Oh man, Damien was so cool and Zander was just, well, he was... He was just Zander, y'know? And that in it's own really said it all. Merlin, he really needed to work on this sort of thing. Geez. You'd think Fifth Year Zander would finally step up his social game. Like Merlin, maybe he should've spent less time reading his Runes textbook and more time reading that Witch Weekly stuff the girls were always glued to. Hm. Wonder if Puck read any of that stuff? Maybe he could ask her about it and-- Wait. Was he really considering reading Witch Weekly magazines?!?! What in Merlin's name was even-- AHEM. "No, you're right, Damien..." he scratched his head a bit, before breaking a smile. Man. D was SO nice. "Only a bit fancy?" he sent a goofy grin towards his housemate and everything. 'Cause okay yes it was still kind of embarrassing BUT THE GUY WAS SO NICE like how even?

"Oh," he replied dumbly as he reached for a glass of pumpkin juice-- Wait, did pumpkin juice even go well with potatoes? 'Cause this was important. "I get it though, wanting some quiet. Sometimes... Sometimes it helps for thinking and stuff," Zander Adair was no Ravenclaw, but even he knew that everyone needed some time for themselves. It was hard to do at Hogwarts too, for that matter. You lived with roommates, you went to classes five days a week, everyone always seemed to be everywhere... Merlin. How did they even survive here!?

Just watching D trying to eat that drumstick was starting to make Zander want to eat one too. There was just something so appetizing about food that didn't require the use of utensils, you know!? Just like LIBERATING. Or something. Eh. But he had to finish the rest of these potatoes first. Had he mentioned that?... How good the potatoes were? Because they were AMAZING. Potatoes, D. Try some. They're fergalicious. "I'm... Well, I'm alive too," raising a forked potato up in the air-- at toast, to being alive, yeah? "I guess I'm just trying to make it through this year... It's been my busiest ever, I don't know if I'll make it." Dramatic, yes. But really he wasn't so sure, y'know? OWLs, Prefect duties, girls. This year was madness.

Either Ezra was totally cool with crazy talk or she really was speaking properly because he was understanding her, and suggesting fun stuff. Wicked. A huge smile played across her face. "I you think you mean not couldn't have not fun me with." Such a fun girl she was. Like, if she wasn't herself, she would want to be her friend.

A race? Her eyes lit up with excitement. AJ was VERY competitive, and her sporty little heart was skipping a beat with delight. "Deal." One worded responses seem to work well for her. "Fun more." They needed a bet. Loser to has up go ON staff the table dance and while singing. Winner to gets the pick and song dance." AJ eyed him. Not chicken was he? As far as AJ was concerned she wouldn't be losing.

Ben was reading... perhaps he oughtn't have interrupted, but... but... EXCITEMENT! He had wondered though if the book said what it was they were transfiguring. Apparently not. At the command of 'hold on', Zeke did just that, wand in one hand, and the other clasped to the edge of the table for something to do.

WEEEEEEEEE.

His hazel eyes watched as Ben grabbed a couple of shakers from further down the table, and returned them to where they sat. Those would work. It looked legit to him. "Awesome," he mused. "Do you think the item we transfigure will like, change the colour of the fish?" Or was it just like, a STANDARD fish? Transfiguration could be weird sometimes, it was hard to tell these things.

But he was all ears. All ears for the next instructions, and it seemed only fitting that he learn from Ben - being the older and more experienced and smarter student. Yep.

Kace decided to meet Emmy here to have her help him with his Arithmancy activity. He was happy to be able to grab a little food before heading back to the classroom. He got some steak and mashed potatoes and began to eat while waiting for his girlfriend. He owled her asking to her to help so hopefully she got it.

Until then he was gonna wait with his notebook to the side and he was gonna stuff his face with good food. Man he was glad he got a break because he didn't realize how starving he was.

She was here, a little late but she was here! It took a so long because she had to go back and get some candy. She really couldn't do anything related to Arithmancy without candy. She really couldn't do anything without candy but here was looking for her boyfriend. In the owl he said to meet him at the Gryffindor Table. Her house table! The best house ever! Well Hufflepuff was a very, very close second because of Kace.

Emmylou ran into the Great Hall and went over towards the Gryffindor table. "WAAAAAAAIIIIIIT! Don't leave! I'm here. I'm here." She yelled out to Kace. She wasn't really that late. It was less than five minutes. Emmylou sat down across from Kace and set her notebook and candy on the table. "Hey." she said out of breath.

From the seventh floor to the ground floor. Beverly was exhausted. Her usual energy seemed to have depleted out of nowhere. Maybe...maybe she could sneak in some food now that she was here? She sniffed the air and then shook her head. No. She was her for business.

Heading straight for the Gryffindor table she plopped herself next to Valentina, nudging her lightly with her elbow.

"Hey, I need your birthday for Arithmancy."

Peace and quiet.

Minus the quiet part.

Valentina was caught up in her own world as usual, no effort to contribute to society let alone Hogwarts. Lazily playing the curls on her long, luscious hair she raised a brow upon being nudged by her dear old cousin.

"What? Why does Arithmancy need my birthday?" Valentina closely eyed Beverly and shrugged. "October 16th." Okay do what you need to do, Wayne.

This wasn't for some crazy voodoo thing, right? Because if so, Ms. Dos Santos will have to inform her father about this and perhaps get cleansed.

As Kace was finishing with his meal he heard a familiar voice. He turned around and sure enough he saw his short adorable girlfriend make her way to the table. "Heyy babe.." he greeted her with a kiss on the cheek. "No don't worry while I was waiting for you I had a delicious meal. I am so stuffed.." he stopped midway through because he felt a burp coming on. Uh oh...here it comes...

BURRRPPPP!!!!!

"Oh excuse me.." he grinned sheepishly. He laughed it off but now onto the assignment. "Alright Emmy Professor Tanner wants me to get your birthday and then calculate into the cycles." he said and giving her the textbook and turning to page 21

"Here I'll set up my notes for you for my birthdayy.." he said just guiding her. "For the first cycle you do the number of your month. For the second you do the number for your birthday, the third one you add your birth year." He asked wondering if he explained it well enough for her to understand it.



Let's see how the little lion handles this. "Is it clear enough?" he asked.

"It's for this assignment we're working on." She eyed the food on the table and ignored it. Appetite, where are you? "It's for calculations for this Major Cycle thing that interprets your life from birth, adolescence and adulthood." Something like that.

Writing down the month and date, Beverly pointed at her parchment for Valentina to see.



"2068 for your year, yeah?"

"Okay..." Assignment? Okay, whatever you say Beverly. Valentina gingerly reaches over to grab a peach. Yum.

Taking a glimpse at the parchment Valentina raised her brow again. "I'm going to be blatantly honest with you, I don't know what the heck this is. It looks like mathematical gibberish and math is definitely not my forte." But Valentina trust in Beverly is unconditional, so let it be.

Valentina was probably thinking she was preparing some intricate curse or jinx. That was something a Dos Santos would think, Beverly was familiar with them.

"I love your honesty, have I ever mentioned that?" She smirked whiled updating her parchment. "It isn't mine either, but you know my dad. He wants good marks on everything." Showing her the parchment then rolling it up, Beverly kissed Valentina's head. Mainly to tick her off.

"Thanks. And don't worry, I won't show this to Niko." More smirking. "Though, he should know your birthday at this rate." That butt face. What tastes Valentina had, Beverly wouldn't comprehend.

"Yes, well no, but I know you do. Who doesn't?" A lot of people. Valentina grinned.

Ah yes of course the famous Phabian Wayne would expect that from his children. Valentino Dos Santos on the other hand, all he wanted was for his daughter to do whatever pleased her. Yep, father of the year.

Valentina was still pretty confused, looking at the numbers she felt her hair frizzing from the confusion. Wrinkling her nose at the kiss Beverly placed on her head, she made a face. She wasn't the affectionate type of human specie, therefore it made her turn into the grumpy cat. "So I'm a 7?" Uhm okay?... "I consider myself a 10." Smirk, smirk. Though Beverly might not understand that reference.

"He does know my birthday." Grin. Of course he would know that and much more. Valentina's face flushed a deep crimson shade. Nikolai Moriarty was so yummy!!!! Or at least Valentina thought so, but 'course being the person she is that was something she would not confess.
