Botros smiled and nodded at Mr. Kenting. "I'm sure we can convince the portrait to let us in. It's this way." He allowed himself to walk a little ahead of the cartographer, seeking the portrait of people talking and lounging about in a room of comfortable furniture. "Mr. Mordaunt, the portrait occupants must know you from previous term, come walk beside me." Hopefully they wouldn't ask for a badge. Botros was, afterall, the deputy headmaster soooo he must have a few perks of his own, too.

Maybe.

The old professor stood in front of said portrait after he spotted it and smiled widely at the chatting blokes inside. "Excuse me, excuse me... can we get in, please?" His hand reached for Ethan trying to get him in front of the frame, too. "We're the mapping team of this floor, we'd like to map the beauty and mysteries of the Prefects' bathroom now."

The portrait was quite busy when someone seemingly addressed them. A bunch of young men were merrily chatting to each other, and all of them paused to look out the portrait to the old man-- Professor deputy headmaster--when he started explaining to them. Two of them, uncrossed their legs and leaned forward in their seats paying attention. "We don't see any badges." The one that looked younger spoke first. The older one nudged him, and spoke next. "Mysteries? There hasn't been any mysteries in here since that Triwizard Tournament decades ago." He looked at the group with slightly resenting eyes. "Hey! We should let them in and send word to Myrtle about those boys in there." The younger boy snickered receiving another nudge from the older one.

"We're told to let Prefects and Captains in. We see no cartographer." The older boy said lazily, stretching out his legs and folding his arms behind his head.

Actuallyyyy...

There was a badge among them. Beverly had just gotten a bit distracted by sketching the corridor and looking for any spaces that might lead to a secret something. So squaring her shoulders and squishing her way to the front where professor Botros stood, she puffed out her chest.

"I'm a Prefect, please open up." Because no one said no to kind Professor Botros. Hehe.

Now, what was this portrait waiting for. Let them in.

The younger boy left his seat to run up closer to the girl who spoke after the elderly man. He squinted his eye and there it was, the Slytherin badge indeed. "Oi, the girl's right." He called out to the older one, who didn't budge from his seat but looked utterly bored instead. "It's the badge." The younger one insisted, bouncing back to his seat. He leaned in and whispered something to the older boy, and was whisper-hissed at angrily for it.

The older boy then waved his hand dismissively at the crowd and revealed the password. "As Real As a Stainwright."

Simon looked up briefly to see that Lux had arrived. He gave her a kind smile and then listened to Mr. Kenting's answer to Ethan's question. Hmm.. Intriguing. Soon enough, the group approached a portrait and Botros asked whether or not they could get in. They had to have a Prefect's badge...? Errr.. Well... This might have been difficult. Before Simon could offer going to grab Zander from the other group, Beverly Wayne intervened. He smiled. Now they were going to be able to get into the Prefect's bathroom. Sweet!

He smirked, watching the two people in the portrait interact. The boy still wasn't used to the whole live portraits. Even though Simon had been at the school for two years, there was something so perplexing about them. Magic was cool. Anyway, he decided not to be rude and stare and quickly jotted down some more notes.

Everything was going great until the word prefect was brought up. Although losing his badge to Caleb was not a big deal, it did hurt somehow because he could have used it to their advantage. It didn’t help his emotions when Beverly stepped up. Professor Botros’ presence behind him however, was good enough to keep his composure intact.

Ethan kept his eyes on the portrait, and waited for them to be allowed inside. If it wasn’t for the Deputy Headmaster’s presence, he’d have thumped the portrait right then and there. No wonder his grandparents only kept one moving portrait in their estate…they could get really, really annoying.

Can he poke them now? Like…POKE?

Ethan heard a familiar voice behind, and didn’t dare look at who it was. It was awkward meeting Caleb the other day, and it’s just the same with Beverly, okay? Seeing that the portrait’s convinced, Ethan quickly glanced at Professor Botros, then back to the annoying portrait. Stainwright? The Slytherin gave a little snort as he took his notebook out, ready to sketch the bathroom. Stainwright’s a clever witch, did they know? Cutty just might take interest in her.

Hogwarts was soooooo interesting! Like the portrait preventing them from entering the bathroom! Thorbert was amused! He was also pleaaaaased when the young woman with the badge stepped up because it meant their journey could continue! That meant moooore mapping!

Clearing his throat, the cartographer pushed his way to the front of the group, toothy grin in place. "I believe this means we move onward, everyone! Not a minute to waste!" With that, he lead the way into the prefects' bathroom!

As Ethan said hello, Lux smiled at him. She hadn't talked to him in a while and it would be nice to catch up, though that would have to wait for another time because things were going to get interesting very soon.

There was talk about entering the Prefect's bathroom, and a stubborn portrait that didn't want to give them access. Wouldn't the Deputy Headmaster be allowed in??? Apparently not.
