The Great Hall is flanked by two large, thick, wooden doors that often make a BANG! sound when flung open by dramatic students and/or staff. There are large, beautiful glass windows at the end of the Hall above the staff dais, the usual enchanted ceiling over everyone, and the four regular house tables lined up neatly in the middle.

Whether you make an entrance or choose to simply enter the Great Hall, you'll still be wowed by its size and architecture every time. You might also be pleased to notice the general upgrade in cleanliness, and perhaps a light, pleasantly clean scent from the candles floating above all the tables. Isn't it nice, what money can do for a school?

He'd lost most of his wariness after his arm was healed, and the third year took Quigley's hand without making a fuss about it. "Easy for you, maybe. You've spent most of your life so far studying stuff like that. I've spent most of mine chasing house elves and wearing diapers." So.

Where was he heading? "Uh... just leaving early. People were giving me a headache." Pause. "Were you going to find your cat? Do you still need help?"

No doubt he'd done more but that summed up most of what children did if you asked him. His children chased anything. Mhm. And he was getting a headache too from the people inside. "That makes the two of us." He said, idly glancing back through the double doors that stood open. Things seemed to be calming down just a bit, maybe he'd even ask what happened while he was gone.

He shook his head, now facing Dima again. "I am my cat and I don't think I need finding nearly as bad." He said with the most casual of shrugs.

Oh, but. "My name is not Cuddles. Nor do I enjoy the sentiment." Not unless it was his wife thanks.

Er....."No." saliva-soaked napkins?What the hell did they do at those student tables? He'd always thought the Ravenclaws were more civilized from where he used to sit at the Gryffindor table. Apparently not. "Just got sat on, then grabbed and smushed and kissed and coo-ed at and forcibly cuddled." Not the best way to start the night, nor was breaking a students arms.....ugh.

"You're right, I don't. Thank you Mister Toussaint." For saying he didn't look like a cat. "I happen to not think I look much like a cat either so there we go, on the same page again but my head's fine." Not completely but the Healer had offered him something for it after the feast so he was good.

Adults were weird, man. Dima was never going to be one, that was for sure.

"As...heart wrenching as that sad realization is, Mister Toussaint," Really? Seriously? Kids. "I wasn't hired to be your friend, I was hired to teach you charms and how to not get yourself killed while using them. Might teach other things too and how you can keep your friends but..." He wasn't looking to become BFFs with the little people. Even he knew how unprofessional that had the potential to become.

"They've started on the dinner," He said gesturing back inside, "sure you wouldn't want to grab something to take back to your Common Room?" Going without dinner after what he could remember to be a long train ride and a longer wait wasn't exactly the best way to end things.

A little cryptic maybe but he didn't feel like going into the long drawn out explanation that could be coupled with the term 'animagus' so if Dima gave himself an explanation, then why not let the boy explain it to himself? It's the only way the boy would see sense in it and he could avoid another stream of lies that would only get convoluted in the wake of this boy's insatiable curiosity.

He chuckled at what could have either been enthusiasm...or concern for the relationships in his life. Persistent, yes, this kid really was. "Why does it matter? You've already made it clear there's no future for us." His words, Maddox was simply repeating them. The man was an unremorseful liar, apparently that would strike a block between the two. Shame that.

"No kidding..." This time he sounded a bit distracted as he watched what might have been children being sent from the Great Hall. "Looks like you won't be the only one skipping the main event." What happened there?

Dima squinted a little, observing the man a little better now that he'd lost the madman image. He still ACTED pretty mad, but Quigley clearly knew what he was doing. The guy had the maturity level of a three year old, though. "Because I like making friends. And also because I have to be friends with you if I want to do the stuff you can."

His SPELL KNOWLEDGE left nothing to be desired, no lie.

"I think you can tell I have absolutely no idea what you're on about, so you might as well tell me and stop being cryptic." Unless he wanted to keep being badgered, that was. Clearly, Dima had no qualms about asking questions.

"You must be really smart, I expect only top work from you." When you asked THAT many questions you had to be gaining knowledge from it. With the way things were turning out, kid could have been a genius in the making; a really nosy genius.

Or unbelievably embarrassing. Whichever way you chose to look at it. It was a welcome surprise the boy hadn't chosen to comment on his prominent canines, he didn't want to give him reason to now.

Kid had a point though, they were alone 'cept for the kids making their way towards them as they headed from the Great Hall. "Well yeah, we are, but do friends really say they assaulted each other? Think about it. We could be hurting each other's feelings without even knowing."

The point was to remove that word completely from the boy's vocabulary where this incident was concerned. They could have found nicer words in case he let it slip--because he seemed like the type to make things slip with all the talking he did. Granted it was mostly question asking but who knew what he was like otherwise. Couldn't take that chance.

He'd been gullible enough for ONE night, okay? And he wasn't falling for that one again. Not only was this guy a liar, he was also a pinky promise breaker. Cool spell knowledge could only get Quigley's image up on a small pedestal in the third year's eyes; so far, everything ELSE he had learned was consistently dragging him off it. Friendship? What friendship?

Without another word, just a somewhat fallen face, the kid turned and headed up to his dorm.
