Professor Cassie's style seems to be fully back in motion this term as you can tell by the pinks and reds of the room. There are two chairs to one table and enough tables and chairs for all students. Something that you might find different about the room is the many cats roaming the room.
In the front of the room is the usual blackboard, teacher chair, and desk with tea and tea cups for anyone who would like a cup. To everyone's surprise, or not, the wonderful snap cup has returned and is sitting on a table with a sign. You will find Professor Cassie's own cats hanging out up front with cute little yellow bows near their ears as well as a very sunny looking Professor Cassie sipping her tea.

Soooo many cats. There was an onslaught of feline happening in this room, and while Ophelia didn't mind too much, it was a little crazy. The blonde was admittedly more of a dog person too, which had a lot to do with her surprise at all of the little cats, and she waved quickly to the Professor while looking down to make sure she didn't step on a little furry tail or something. While the second year knew that the chances of that were unlikely, there was still the fear of the event happening. This was also the reason that her mother refused to keep pets in the house. That and the fact that Newton was allergic.
PINK 0_o. So much pink! Rubbing her eyes against the onslaught of sameness, she went to her desk and thought about a moment that she was proud of herself today. Maybe the fact that she managed to get here without injury? Or the fact that the Ravenclaw was able to wake herself up, and on time too? Or that her curly hair was very nicely staying in the French braid she somehow managed to cook up for herself? Probably the third one.

Getting up and CAREFULLY walking to the snap cup, the small child put in her paper and returned to her desk, waiting for class to start. While divination wasn't her favorite class, it wasn't Transfiguration, and that should count for something. Besides, she could stand a lesson or two in which she had to read stuff and attempt all of this noise. As long as the lesson didn't get too crazy involved.

Janelle arrived for Divination class, eager and ready to go. Entering the classroom, she gave a little shiver. It was a tad......brisk today. The first thing she noticed was the cats. That caused a tiny smile to appear on her face. They were all dog people in her family, but she was starting to get used to the whole idea of cats.
"Hello Professor". Janelle said cheerfully. Then noticing the Snaps Cup information, she stopped to think of what she would write down. Finally getting an idea, Janelle wrote it on a piece of parchment and dropped it into the cup.

I am proud that I made a new friend today.
Seeing that some of her friends had already arrived, Janelle gave a wave to Eden, Zhenya, Margo and Adi. Then finding an empty seat, Janelle slid into it and made herself comfortable. She decided to observe the cats while she waited for class to start.

"Professor Morgan!" she said quite cheerfully, smiling and waving.
The first person came in and she set down her tea to smile and greet her. "Goooooodmorning Eden, how are you today!" Always good to see students that seemed to really enjoy class.

She sat down and immediately began examining the tarot nail art adorning her fingernails. Not that she knew what they'd be doing today but like, why not play to a theme, right?
As another student came walking in, Cassie noticed she did not say hello, but she also noticed her fingernails. "OHMYGOSH those are sooooo cute!!" she gave the girl snaps and a huge grin.

Ignoring Emmy, the redhead waved at Eden and took a seat before setting her cat, Arya on the desk and writing down her snap cup moment:
Skipping to the cup, she added her moment before taking a seat again. She couldn't wait to find out what they would be learning about today.
"Lux, hello" She beamed at the fifth year. "You kitty is super cute!" They all had adorable cats. Wouldn't they all just look adorbs in bows? She wondered if they could have kitty dress up after the lesson.

Okay, so it wasn't exactly a proud moment. But it needed to be shared. Though hopefully the second part would make up for the lack of proud? Well... Couldn't he technically be proud about getting a crup? Ahum, again... Irrelevant.
"Ooooh thank you Zander" She beamed and twirled a bit in her yellow robes. "I know they aren't really fall colors, but I just felt like having a very cheery day!" Who wouldn't when she got to teach such a great group! Plus she had her wonderful comfy slippers on.

Toby DID have a cat. Of course he did, and he was bringing him along today, as the notice board had said. Bludger, who'd been in his life since Toby was twelve years old, was a blue-eyed black cat who had a tendency to live up to his name. Climbing the ladder to the classroom while carrying him AND his school bag was kind of tricky, and Bludger was really digging those claws in. But Toby was good at keeping his composure and was very patient with all his animals, so soon he emerged into the characteristically pink classroom.
Toby had skipped out on the silly slippers thing, owing to the fact that he didn't OWN any silly slippers, so was in his proper uniform. Still holding onto Bludger with one arm, he headed to the snap cup to write down his proud moment and add it before going off to take a seat.
Toby now sat in his seat, eyeing the other cats all around (Bludger was doing exactly the same, and Toby held on to him a little more firmly). He was tempted, sooooooooooooo tempted to PET ONE, especially when one came right up and rubbed up against his leg, but Toby had seen the message on the board, so he reluctantly refrained.
Instead, the Hufflepuff sat and focused his attention on Bludger. Which... was wise, as if he got distracted for even a second... well... Bludger could be unpredictable, okay?
"Hi Professor," the sixth year finally greeted Professor Morgan, sparing one hand for the moment to give her a wave.
"Toby, hello and who do we have here?" She bent down to coo at the cat, sensing her own two watching her closely. So jealous of their mommy's attention. Her green eyes saw movement and she noticed a Cat walking alone into the room. Her excitement growing that he came, though he said he would, so this was going to be great!

Heading over to Zander. "Hey, Zander. I'm sitting with her, okay?" Not taking no for a answer. Yep she was sitting with him. She knew he always needs help in divination. So here she was. She sat the cat down on top of the desk and flopped into the seat.
"I'm doing just fabtastic Cinna, how are you?" She beamed at the fifth year and the cat following her. "What a well behaved fur baby you have." She just wanted to squish them all, but she would refrain from doing so.

The third year sat on her hands to keep from reaching down and petting it. She wanted to pet it so badly. So so so badly she felt like she was going to EXPLODE. Her knees went all bouncy with the anticipation. COULD CLASS START SO SHE COULD PET THEM PLEASE?
This one looked as if she was really happy to be here. Cassie loved to feel like her students enjoyed being at her class. "Hello dear, how are you today?" This was why she loved what she did, the excitement that all the students seemed to have.

Heading to a seat at the same table as some Gryffindor (Zander), he turned his attention to the board. Snap cup? What was a snap cup? He didn't know, but it seemed to be the contained in which everyone was dropping their slips. So he got a scrap of parchment for himself, took up a quill, and wrote the following:
On his way there, he greeted the unfamiliar professor. "Hi, ma'am. I'm Dima Toussaint. Third year. Looking forward to your lesson." And....... that cat looked strangely familiar to the Charms professor's Animagus form, did she know? It didn't have the bows either. He spent a good minute or two staring at it before returning to his seat.
Smiling as a younger student came into the room she snapped happily, "Well it's very nice to meet you Dima, welcome to class. I'm Professor Cassie." In case he didn't know of course. "I hope you find class very enjoyable!" She hoped they all did.

Ooooh this one noticed the professor on her desk. Hmmm very interesting. "Good morning to you too, You have a very nice looking cat with you today." She cooed at the cat before standing up right again.

Which was sure to help for this lesson.
Now to find a seat. Scanning the room she made her way to an empty table but not before greeting the black cat sat up on a desk. "Hello Professor Quigley." It would've been rude not to say anything when she knew it was him.
Slipping into her seat she set her bag at her feet and placed her tea cup on her desk. It was then after she was all settled did she gently nudge the small sleeping ball of fur in her pocket. With a small mew Hagan poked his head out and nuzzled her hand.[/qoute]
Beaming as another student entered the classroom. "Good Morning Hagan, I'm soooo glad you like the idea. I soooo enjoy animals. I know you are going to have lots of fun with them today." This was going to be the best!

Noticing Angel not far off, the Hufflepuff took a seat next to her. "Hi,'' he said to his other little sister.[/quote]
Seeing another Hufflepuff enter the room, Cassie smiled and greeted him, "Hello Adi, how are you today?" She looked over at her own fur babies and shook her head, "No that would just be me and well all of you in the house of the badger, they are just matching my fun robes and slippers today." She twirled a bit letting her robes sway, "Umm Adi, that isn't very nice. We don't mess up Professor's names." Though she kept her warm smile assuming it was an accident.

It was a small achievement in the eyes of most, but without breathing you'd be an inferi, and that was no way to live. Zeke left his seat only to add it to the snap cup, then returned promptly and passed the time by looking at all the CATS. Gosh. So many.
"Good morning Zeke. Having a lovely day so far I hope?" She always hated hearing that her students might not be having such good days. So she hoped he was having a good one.

Seeing another student, Cassie beamed, "Hello.. Hello, welcome! I'm so glad you are here today." Yes her class was seeming full today, wonderful bonus of a new term, new faces, old faces, it was all just ah-mazing!
Checking her time it seemed it was certainly time to get started. "Good morning once again class. I do have to apologize right off the bat, I know it's already October and we haven't had a lesson, but we will be having them exactly as scheduled for the rest of term." So no worries they will have plenty of fun in divination this year to make up for it.
Walking towards her desk and near one of the cats in particular;

Cats have been a part of history with witches for as far back as we can read. Most of the time it was black cats in muggle stories and cats originated with magic because people swore witches turned into black cats." She glanced towards her coworker just for a second before back to the room.
"Now we aren't here to talk about the history of cats of course, but how cats fit into Divination. Can anyone take a guess or have a thought on why I have all these cats joining us today." and a professor cat of course. "But first of course we need to look to the Snap Cup!" Setting down Aires she pulled out the first moment. "For anyone not familiar with the snap cup this is a way to bring more positive energy to the room and get the day started right. Usually I have music and scents in the room to get us relaxed and focused, but today's lesson doesn't need as much concentration, so I opted out of it." Now back to the snaps, "I am proud of my self for not loosing anymore house points" "I'm thankful for Benny as my bestie and him putting up with me even when I'm not myself." " I am proud to have made friends so quickly." Snapping after every single proud moment she beamed at the class once finished saying them all. "Wonderful moments everyone. Now, back to my original question, why do you think I've brought in all the cat's today and how do you think they go with Divination."
Picking up Aires again she noticed a potion bottle on her desk, "Oh right, and if anyone has a cat allergy and haven't taken a potion yet, I have some extra's on the table." Had to keep safety a priority for all now didn't she.

"Sorry, Professors,'' Adi said, directing his apology to both Morgan and Quigley. "Haven't been myself for a few days.'' But at least he had caught his mistake before he went off to a seat. Also, he did not usually go around calling his Professors by other names. "Anyway, I'm looking forward to this lesson.'' He had seen the notice and of course he had done a bit of reading on Divination and cats.

After all the snap cup moments, class was officially underway. The Badger pushed a hand up in the air. "We're going to be using cats to foretell the future by looking at their movements and behaviour.'' And that was rather fascinating because before Adi had read his textbook, he had no idea they could use cats for that. It made him wonder what other animals could be used. Could toads be one? Hmmm.

" I am proud to have made friends so quickly." Snapping after every single proud moment she beamed at the class once finished saying them all. "Wonderful moments everyone. Now, back to my original question, why do you think I've brought in all the cat's today and how do you think they go with Divination."
Stroking the fur between her cats ears earning her a soft purr Hady let her attention move from her feline friend to the Professor whom was speaking now. The notes from the snap cup were read out loud to which she joined in on the snapping. What was the lesson going to be about though? Why did she need Hagan?
Picking up her teacup she sipped at the tea slowly enjoying the warmth it sent through her body. Clearly they were going to be doing something with the cat or they wouldn't be in the room. So taking a moment to go over what Professor Morgan had told them about the history of cats and what she knew she set her cup back on the desk. Her hand raising a second later. "Well since Divination is about being able to see things that have or will happen and cats have been said to have powers and such, maybe we'll be using the cats to help us make predictions?" Did that make any sense? It did to her when she had said it in her head.
It sounded a bit funny out loud though now. Oh well. How would they use a cat though to see a prediction? She didn't know really but it didn't hurt as a guess.
Cats. Cats everywhere. Sauntering about. Under foot. On desk. Likely next to be on heads and shoulders.
Amur blinked wide-eyed at the room and its conglomeration of furry felines. She had lived on a farm and never in her life had she seen so many cats. Were all of them real, or were some of them conjured?
Carefully lifting her feet off the floor and tucking them under herself on her seat, so as not to accidentally kick one of the four-legged companions by absently swinging legs, Amur raised her hand.
"Cats are very sensitive, like most four-legged friends, Miss." Even Arthur, her bearded dragon, seemed to have extra senses that were lost on her. Something about evolution.
"They are good at reading people, and can tell things about their personality or demeanor that we may not be able to see. If we pay attention to their behavior, or lack of liking of someone, then we must consider ourselves warned about potential problems in the future from said person."
Although, every cat here seemed to be a purring, snuggly ball of cuteness.

So the lesson was about the cats. Interesting. Now Janelle's curiosity was piqued. She wondered what they could possibly be doing with cats. Then the Professor asked the very question that Janelle had been pondering. She thought about it for a moment, well maybe it was more than a moment. When Janelle came up with an answer, she raised her hand.
"Professor? Do we have to read the cats' minds?"
Was that even a thing? Janelle thought about how her dogs always seemed to be observing things. Animals were like that. Maybe these cats knew things. Maybe.

Caleb was all for animals. He loved them. Especially dogs.
But he did not like cats.
He didn't know what it was about them, but he just didn't trust them. Especially a whole BUNCH of cats. He was going to answer the question when one of them came up and started rubbing itself on his leg. UGH. Great, now he had cat hair all over his nice black pants.
What was it? Did he smell like catnip or something?
And oh, look at that, class was starting! Did that mean the cats would LEAVE now?
He raised his hand. "Did old Seers use the colors in their coats to read the future or something?"

What did cats have to do with Divination? To be honest, Ophelia had no clue. As she said before, she was a certified dog person. To be honest, there were more cats in here than the twelve year old had ever seen at once. How did you even GET this many cats in one room together? How had any of them not ran out of the room yet? Maybe there was something in the air that made the cats happy. The Ravenclaw didn't know. She wasn't a cat expert. She was an expert in how many toaster pastries you could eat without puking if you REALLY tried, just not in future seeing matters. Maybe she would make a guess.
"Aren't cats supposed to be able to detect earthquakes or something?" Okay, the curly haired blonde was smarter than she looked. BAM! Genius in the house! "so maybe people thought they could also use the cats to predict other disasters too."
Looking over at all of the scary felines around, Ophelia shuddered for a second. Cats weren't her thing. They were awful attackers in the face of evil and they never wanted to go into the woods with her. That's why the child always rescued stray dogs and kept them for as long as she could without her mom knowing. They would go into the woods with her and help her find her neighbor when he got lost. Cats never did ANY of that stuff.

Norah looked up gratefully as Professor Cassie began to speak, hoping for a good distraction. She snapped along with the rest of the class, a little glad that her paper hadn't been picked 'cause she saw herself breaking what she had written and petting one of the cats veeeery near in her future. SEE she could SO be a good seer. The third year wrinkled her nose as she pondered the first question before raising a hand in the air. "Because they're cute! All branches of magic should include cats, it y'ask me." Divination. Right. She continued, "But maybe cats know more things than people do, kind of like they can see in the dark. One time I heard that somebody was saved from an earthquake by a cat, so maybe all cats can tell the future too! So if you ask one a question and study it the cat can show you yes or no like those crystally things we used last year." SO WHAT if it didn't make any sense? THEY WERE TALKING ABOUT CATS! Best day ever, she had already decided.
Eden waved back at Janelle before glancing up at Professor Morgan when she spoke up. She was VERY much resisting the urge to pet one of the cats...the temptation was SO STRONG THOUGH. LIKE REALLY?
She smiled. "I'm good--" but then they were starting class. She'd have to go see Professor Morgan in her office later. She MISSED the cheerful blonde woman. And weirdly she felt that Professor Morgan would get along SO well with her Mam. Mhmm. And yes--Eden WAS wondering why the cats--but she did some brain storming from her question--
She raised her hand. "Um...well...does it have anything to do with the Egyptian worship of cats? And like..ideas that they have connections with the divine?" she asked softly. It wasn't like she thought DEEPLY about it--but it seemed like it might...make sense? Who knew.

Marigold liked cats. She had a cat, for Merlin's sake, and of course she loved her Nibbles. Very very much. Therefore, divination with cats sounded A. MAZING. She raised a hand to answer the question. "Cats are sometimes connected to familiars, and maybe the familiars are connected with one's inner self and aura, or something?" KITTIES.

So class was beginning and we had two confirmations that a certain charms professor was in the room. Interesting mode of observing but then the skill of an animangi obviously had many uses. Turning his attention back to Professor Morgan, he listened to the snaps being read off. Adi's was quite obvious and Benny did his best not to feel self conscious about being mentioned. At least his bestie seemed to be in somewhat better form, the Gryffindor briefly glancing sideways at the other boy who sat beside him before returning to the topic at hand.
Cats...involved in divination.
Sure he was aware of the longstanding history between witches and wizards and felines, but Benny wasn't aware of the mention concerning this subject. "Can cats assist in the perceiving signs that humans might normally miss?" He asked, adding his two cents into a possible use after raising his hand.

It made Lux BEAM when Professor Cassie called Arya adorable. Yes, she was cute even if a handful; she loved her little fur baby.
The snap moments were read aloud, and she happily snapped along with them because everyone had a great reason to be proud of something. This cup was a great way to start every lesson off on a good note.
Petting Arya behind the ears as she sat on the table, she listened as Professor Cassie began talking about cats. Obviously they were the focus of today's lesson, but Lux was not too familiar with forms of Divination beyond what she had learned in class. She was stumped but still raised her hand to offer a guess. "Do cats have knowledge of the divine that we can pick up on by watching their behaviour?"
It was cool that Divination was starting. As he looked around he noticed a lot of people were here. Where did they all come from? He still looked at Emmylou and smiled. He was happy to be here with her and he knew Emmy and Lux still didn't get along but it was simple boyfriend protocol to sit next to her. He heard the professor's question and wondered what did cats and divination have to do with one another? Hmm...he heard Marigolds answer and thought it sounded logical.
He raised his hand to agree with his fellow puff.
"Professor I agree with Marigolds answers about the familiars and somehow the animal can reflect our soul and cats are knowing to be observant and smart animals. They can feel things even though we can't. Could they be like spirit detectors?" I mean it didn't seem like a stupid question right?

Oh look, some had been nice enough to greet him. They in turn got bright 'meow's but he would remain seated on the desk and away from most of the felines.
The ear scratch was a nice touch but he leaned out of it regardless. No need to give the general idea that it was OKAY.
The fact Cassie had gone into explanations and introductions told him this wasn't the part where he was needed just yet so Maddox made himself comfortable, curled up and prepared to listen. Cats, witches, Miss McGee talking about Egypt. Yup, he was all ears and ready for whenever Cassie was.

Kate was trying extra hard to ignore the cats for now, but it was hard. So hard. They were all just SO CUTE!!!
Kate didn't have a cat at home or at school, but what eleven-year-old girl could resist a room full of furry, purring cuteness?! Kate felt like she couldn't, but she did. She focused on the professor and the reading of the proud moments. She even listened to a little of the history of magic and cats, even thought some of it sounded a little strange.
So about that question. Kate had an idea, so she raised her hand. "Don't they say if a black cat crosses your path, you'll have bad luck?" she asked, eyeing the cats in the room. Were any of them black, and if so, were any of them crossing her path? "Maybe we're going to see what kind of luck cats can give us."
"I'm good. " she said with a smile. HAHA yeah a well behaved little fluffy orange monster. She turned and looked down at the cat. "Yeah? I think we just got him on one of his good days." She eyed the cat as she walked along to her seat.
Ugh. Cat get the butt out of my face. Why did this cat have to be such a goof ball? swish swish Merlin's tale was all over her face. Any other time to fluff ball would be asleep on her bed in the dorm. NOT Bothering her like he was now.
She listen to Professor Cassie as she spoke to the class. She raised her hand, "Cats are very perceptive, and pick up on vibes and attitudes or something like that." Which was probably why her fluffball was crazy over Grayson. Merlin goes crazy every time he sees him. Grayson was like his catnip. Good thib Grayson wasn't here. Merlin would sitting on his desk. Not here with his tale in her face.

How could cats help with Divination? Margo loved the idea that little Hera could help her predict the future! It made her have a huge smile. Scratching little Hera's ear Margo thought about the question posed to the class.
"Can they help predict what is going to happen with their movement and behavior?" Margo asking thinking she loved to watch her kittens romp and play all over. Their behavior was always fascinating to her. "Plus there are omens about cats, both goo and bad right?" Margo added thinking all the bad rap that black cats got. She wasn't sure how justified those myths were. Maybe they would learn about those in the lesson as well.

Albie scuttled into the Divination classroom, his books - for both this class and others - were piled in his arms, giving the boy the appearance that he might topple forward to see them scatter before his face. Or perhaps IN his face.
But he managed.
He set them atop his desk, then took a seat. The trouble was the stack now towered above his head. So he took the books in pairs and set them upon the floor, next to his desk. He was in desperate need of a new rucksack.
Naturally, it was when he finally felt relatively situated that he spotted the snap cup on the table. Right. Parchment...

"Professor didn't the Egyptians think that cats were evil or could see into the future of things like that and so they worshiped them and got buried with them when they died." Angel was sure she had read something about that in a history class or was she totally on the wrong wavelength.

Annnnnnd spoke too soon. Actually not spoke 'cause technically, he hadn't really uttered a word yet. Other than the hello to Professor Morgan, but he was still guilty on account of that 'hate potion' assignment last year, so it was a necessity. But right, class was starting and... Cats? Okay.
"Is it because you're going to teach us how to talk to them?..... Because you can talk to them?" Actually... Maybe that wasn't exactly what she had told him and Simon in their third year, but it was paraphrasing okay. She said something or another about understanding animals. In which case, "But I don't really see why we're using cats specifically because you communicate with all animals, right?..... And I think crups are just as good conversationalists as cats are," if not better. He was a crup person, okay? Maybe a little biased. Maybe.

Cats. It wasn't that Tia was allergic to the creatures; she wasn't and quite enjoyed them especially when they transformed into handsome men But something about the Divination Tower being filled with the felines bothered the fourth year. So much so that she had completely missed writing down a positive statement for Professor Morgan's Snap Cup. Snap cup? What was that? Weird. Divination was weird though in general. Well at least that was Tia's conceptions about the subject.
What do cats have to do with Divination?
Wasn't there something involving studying animal behavior? She was sure she read something about it ... "Felineomancy, Professor, I believe its called, when you study a cat's behavior." Well she might have gotten that word wrong, but that's what you got when you fell asleep while reading...
